Well, I guess we could (carefully) glance into buildings as we make our way towards the center, stopping to investigate anything noteworthy. So far we don't have a deadline (do we?), so it just depends how long we want to spend here. (Unless the islands were set to crash into ours or something?)

start by identifying the voidlings, there seem to be more types than the ones we already know. I kinda want one of those with tentacles

Now that we're a bit closer, can we Identify the bright spot?
Also be sure to Identify any new voidlings you see. For the bestiary entries!

Head towards that central structure at the end of the street while poking your head into nearby buildings to see if there's anything interesting in them.

Long ago, on a world long past, deep down in the darkest abyssal reaches of a great ocean, existed a phenomenon known as a "Whale Fall"

The corpse of a gargantuan animal would sink to the barren sea floor. In it's decay an entire rich and vibrant ecosystem would form that could last for decades at a time.

This place reminds me of that. There are surely many treasures to be found, not only from the ruins themselves, but from the voidlings consuming then. Be careful though. There's probably something around that eats these couplings, along with something nastier that eats those.

Okay, so I'm actually going to say

>Observe

in this situation. Why? Because looking at this angle- if you can see them, they can probably see you, and if they have any sense of danger, they probably can tell someone's looking at them. You don't want to get too obvious with your movements. Just act like you're people watching for now.
>>
No. 1102628 ID: e61200

Get closer, but out of sight. You don't need direct line of vision to smell this fellow and make ure it is who you think it is.

If indeed it is, I think we can call off the mission and warm the boss to bring the heavy hitters on this joint!

You try to slowly and stealthily move closer to the suspect to verify. You're aware that your line of sight could make you just as easy to see back, so you try to position yourself under one of the balconies to further obscure you and to make your movements less obvious. It's still not ideal with how far above they are, but you try to get another sniff of their scent.

Menthol, sulfur, and what smells like... tea(?) hits your nostrils. It's enough to confirm that they're likely the owner of the jacket, but it leaves you puzzled. Is this person really the Boss's target? They don't seem like much.

>Two dangerous folks in league with each other like this? What could they be possibly up to?

The first thought that comes to mind is retaliation. Of course, if the Boss wanted this guy dead, that's motive enough for this guy to act too. Question is, why would Eiko work with them? Is she being threatened by this guy to help them?

To answer this, you try to observe them a little longer. A part of you hopes that Eiko comes out so you can decide here and then.

Instead, for a few minutes, you watch them chainsmoke 4 cigs down to the filter. Once they do, they put the filter out on the corner of the porch, the spark of the cig ash falling downward just a few feet out of your range. Then strangely.. they toss the filter into their mouth... Eating it whole.

Just as you're about to lose your nerve, a call comes onto their phone. They pause to check the number before flipping it open, and you strain your ears to try and listen.

"Hey bastard, what do you need?.... Yeah, I'm busy at the moment..... Keep it quiet... Really?...... Party at what time?...... Alright, I'll see if I can make it before midnight.... If your crowd doesn't have anything valuable to give back, I'm kicking your ass.."

Another party? Or the same? Does everyone know everyone around here? You hastily push that thought aside, it looks like there may be a moment where those two will be separated.

Additionally, you do get a gauge of their friendliness level. They're at about 65%. More than half. If you were to talk to them, they'll hear you out and be more likely to be persuaded.

1102666

Is it enough confirmation to report back? You aren't 100% sure, you never saw the target visually before. Eiko could have lied about the real owner of the jacket and this could be a different accomplice.

Just as you decide to turn tail and report back, your fur fluffs up in alarm. Shit. Did they catch you? Did someone else? Or is it anxiety? You keep your head down so you don't make any eye contact. As calmly as you can, you press into the wall and into the closest doorway, which ends up being the entrance to the building.

No one seems to be around. Your heart is beating fast from nerves. If these two are as dangerous as everyone says, you may be in more danger than you signed up for. You're not exactly a loyal dog of the Wolf Bites, like many others are, you just do your job because they pay better than everyone else. If you could use your skills for a different gig, you wouldn't have an issue with it. Cause' it'll be a hot day underground before you ever find yourself dying for a guy like Julien. But that's just personal preference.

Okay, let's assess. Inhale. Exhale. You to take in the surroundings of the apartment building. To the left and right are what looks like hallways that lead to other apartments and a door that leads to the laundry room. In front of you, is the elevator and stairway. Above that is what looks like an abstract painting. The floor of this lobby area has various old carpets with dirt and footprints tracked onto them as time has passed. Many scents linger here, including what smells like chinese food. Must be a delivery person down the right hallway.

There are many ways this could go.

Do you:
>Try to knock on Eiko's door and use your cover story.
>Risk it and walk out.
>Wait the suspect out until they're gone from th

I would say A so we can get some more weapons and armor made, buuuuuuut

I'm going for D) Food. Mainly because if we want an easier time to convince the forest goblins to move out of the forest and live and serve in our castle, we'll need to show we have enough food to provide for them to live in return. Plus having a variety of food to farm with is important. They seem to be dependent on food to survive, seeing how they've been invading the headsplitters territory

Clark IV, a world under fire.

The Interstellar Transit Authority currently holds the planet under martial law. The planet has seen a turbulent past century, guerilla fighters have been holding it hard and there has been no progress in taking hold.

Mercenary companies have been brought in to step in as a force multiplier, but they are beholden to no one but whoever pays the most.

Corporate entities have also begun to set their eyes on the planet below.

It is hell.

It seems that even through my internal dialogue, no extra time had passed, and Sweetie had begun fishing her sentence; it’s as if time stood still. Odd, Untella goes next. [/i]

“Well less regarding the Empire but more so that I’ve seen a lot more stuff. I guess if I’m talking about my own sob story of how I got captured, It’s more so me and my party of mercenaries got an job to wipe out an nearby encampment of camp of say 3 soldiers, It’s an job so you don’t ask questions, budda beem turns out their fallen empire soldiers. And that’s how you get shackled into slavery as an Prisoner of War, and whipped until you get there, I felt like my future there would have ended either me working to death in some silver mines or someplace else, or..” She shudders heavily. ] “I just hope they didn’t notice my curves at all.”

“But I’m presuming you’ve been hearing non-stop about the Fallen Empire, and while they are the hottest deal in the continent, I don’t know much about their own stories, and tales of apparent savagery, I do have a lot to talk about, some of it’s political, some of it’s from what I heard from others, but I don’t want to bore you, and I feel like you seem pretty antsy already, so you can ask me some other time. I’ve just travelled a lot.”

I then move on to the next topic of discussion; before I go to talk to the other citizens.

Do I take her Deal? It may anger Crocodile and/or Baredibor that she would be debt-free and her secret, not theirs to keep. Still, if it’ll truly help us and help speed up our farm work and or increase our future, then it may be an opportunity for us to speed down on the settlement process, and more-so into the living process. She also is saying that she won’t leave, at least not right away, and she promises to see her family, if she left to go to her family, and wouldn’t come back is to be decided, but selling off your daughter to be a slave of either gruelling manual labour, or concubine status, isn’t a nice talk over the dinner table.

Grey, I won't blame you for fighting back against that, but you have to understand that most people who think that way have been taught to. In the same way that Crocodile's core thought processes have been ingrained with the idea of 'nobility' and 'authority', many of the Empire's forces have likely been taught to think of you as vermin, as a threat, as weaklings individually and a plague when united.

I don't know exactly which empire the Fallen come from, but one of the most famous dying empires always springs to mind. In that hell, everyone was at war with everyone else. The empire's immortal emperor was on life support for millennia. Their civilized rivals wanted to kill every human they could find on principle, and those were the rational factions. The irrational ones would invent new ways to torture you forever, usually by mutating you into some form of immortal, immobile bundle of pain receptors. It sounds like Untella might be good at managing a kitchen rather than doing the actual cooking. Lets try her in that position for now, there will probably be some exploration or similar for her later.

For Sweetie's secret, can she make use of it without actually telling use how it works? If Crocodile finds out its not just an ability she has but knowledge that can be taught he's going to view it as owed, since technically we own her. Though if you talk to him I think you could convince him to view it has equal to the debt, since she is offering it of her free will. Look at it this way; if she was exploring and found treasure and brought it back to us, it would only be right to view that as going towards the debt.

As for trapping her here over this, is it like she really has anywhere to go? It might have been the only option they could, but her family essentially gave her up for dead. If she went back, wouldn't they just send her as the next tribute, as they're still trapped in the same situation as when she left. So no, she won't be forbidden to leave, but it would be foolish to.

Your hatred of the empire is only justified, but keep cautious. The catharsis you would feel by harming them dovetails nicely with making them less able to visit further harm upon people. But its important to maximize the amount of harm we can bring, especially against such a strong opponent.

>Discuss the non-bite
Jess closes her book as Henry slides into bed next to her. “Hey, I’m kind of wondering why I didn’t bite you earlier.”

“Me too, honestly. Not that I’m mad or anything, I really liked the blowjob. I would have tugged myself away if I felt teeth.”

“And what if you hadn’t been fast enough?”

“Well…I probably would have called a yellow or a red if you were biting super hard.” Henry puts a hand on her hip and wiggles himself closer so they’re chest to chest.

Jess is silent, unsure of how to respond. If she bit, she’d want to use the full power of her jaw, but they agreed not to hurt each other too badly, which means no hard chomps on other parts of Henry’s body either. Do they need to revise the rule?

“I don’t want you to feel like you have to fight. I know you’re strong. You don’t have to prove yourself to me.” says Henry quietly.

Jess chooses not to take offense at that comment, which would be the insecure thing to do. “Yeah. Next time I’ll show you my teeth if I’m feeling feisty and we don’t have to worry about an accident.”

>Are they losing themselves in the roleplay?
Naw, it’s just having fun. Real life responsibilities always come first and at the end of the day they’re just a stereotypical young couple in the states. Flesh and blood like everyone else.

>Discuss plans for Becca
“Do you think Becca would be ok if I used some of my basic toys tomorrow? You can hold her while I do most of the work tomorrow, we can do it on the bed instead of the couch.”

“Not the multicolored monster cocks.” Henry clarifies.

“No, not those, just a wand and maybe a normal dildo.”

“Yeah, sounds good. Y’know, I think she’s kind of been more depressed recently. When she’s not smiling she just looks really sad.”

“Huh? Why? I thought she liked hanging out?”

Henry shrugs. “I dunno. Maybe you can figure it out tomorrow since I don’t want to make her self-conscious by asking.”

Jess isn’t planning to wear the shock collar tomorrow.
A. Be direct, ask Becca what’s bothering her
B. Stick to careful observation

Alright, so they must have known Gasket was up here, but they might not know he has company. So he should yell at them to come out, what are they doing here, etc; meanwhile you are placed to get behind them if they go for Gasket.

Only issue is, that torch is going to give you away. better toss it back towards the middle and hope Gretchen can snatch it up before it lights anything.

You followed a distant sound of bells to find your way here through freezing fog. That mist is gone, and the path with it.

The "mayor's" face is porcelain. Limbs, elegant clockwork. "Town square" is bare stone around a pillar of orichalcum-edged jade, seven yards high and two or three thick. Little else but the border of churning primordial chaos, a hundred yards away in every direction but down.

Beside the sacred monument, stairs - presumably to some cellar or storm shelter - and a granite lectern holding a closed folio. Purple leather, fitted with brass. No visible title.

PART ONE: https://questden.org/kusaba/quest/res/1002454.html

Thousands of thousands of years ago, a Grand Slime was murdered by a mysterious entity known as the Void King.
Thousands of thousands of years later, Nemo reawakens with only a few fractured memories of her former life.
She quickly reunites with two of her broken pieces, and sets out to explore the world in search of the remaining fragments of her shattered core.
After accidentally uncovering and releasing a strange figure imprisoned in stone, Nemo meets another unfortunate end, and it's up to her other parts, Humphrey and Mirrow, to carry on the mission to reunite themselves.
Elsewhere, but not too far away, a runaway Elsekin named Sam is trapped in a dense forest filled with hostile vines.

Caution's good at this stage, let's try to take it slow. Get our bearings in these woods first and all that good stuff.
Sigil of Sight is likely going to be useful in the future, but not now, especially when we don't even know what we're looking for. Sure, it's a slime with a core shard in it, but there could be tons of slimes...

Actually, searching for shards of our core specifically using the sigil is a pretty good idea! If we can ever find some time to cast that (and the energy to spare), it might behoove us to do just that.

Just to recap in case anyone doesnt fully remember, we're here because Grace of the Underworld told us a piece of our grand slime core was somewhere in Froasting and that this piece had the power to heal slime crystal, so we can both heal Nemo and hopefully convince her to join us if we meet her. Grace also wants us to write her letters once a month (not urgent) and find a way to kill the Trickster, which it seem we'll likely need all of our pieces in order to do.

We have a spell phone with "Push", "Pull", "Hot", "Cold" and "Mend" crystal magic spells and Tricky's contact. We have a cloak that channels void magic and know the runes for "Blink", "Ask" and "Beacon". (Also worth noting that void magic only works for us because Cali is bonded to us)

The Void King is also currently looking for parts of a weird gem, that might be our core? I don't remember if that was made explicit, or if it might be some other gem. The map shows the places they've checked. The west set of smaller islands is where we started, and Froasting, where we are now, is the forest in the south. If we feel like it, when we're done here we might want to take the opportunity to go on to the Yawn region (south east) and visit the 'slime university' which the doctor suggested one of our pieces mightve ended up at (also im just super curious what a slime university would be like i bet itd be amazing)

Again, I consider his options but don’t make any mental or physical confirmation of anything.

“Oh? What was the last thing you wished to make an Potion of? Mana I see, oh Hop hop hop, you silly little bunny, the mana potion they sell at stores, dosen’t even contain raw mana, it’s just an mixture of regular garden herbs, and some magical ingredients infused with mana, yet it’s amount is incredibly little. “This is Pure Mana”

He says, clenching his hands in a fist-like fashion and pumping them down dramatically as a deep roar echoes out, and a white, almost goo-like substance begins to emerge into the pool and eventually sits still.

It’s an odd scent, almost bland like licking drywall, but even duller than that, and the mana is pure white, mixed with some pools mixtures of dark grey inside. However, I feel an almost cosmic pull to it, Like a Siren’s Song lulling me towards the pool, I feel.. I feel the collective power, It’s.. It’s the strongest thing I’ve ever felt, and the mana anticipates, it wants to have a body, it wants to be used, it wants me.. I apparently started moving towards it, because I feel Alex put an hand on my shoulder.
“Hop, Dont. That.. that stuff feels.. Wrong..”

Magicli grins.
“It’s intoxicating, Isn’t it? And yet this collective is only 1/1000’th of my capabilities, I’ll also allow you to take, submerge or drink of this, but I warn you.. Mana without a body can get..”
He puts his hand to his chin before chuckling.
“Freaky shall we call it?”
he winks at me.
“I’ll allow you to do whatever you wish with this mana under my supervision, but I’m not responsible for what happens next.”

Alex turns me and around and looks to me deep in the eyes.
“Hop, be serious with me, don’t do it, Do you really trust the guy who put us into this school to begin with? And what did he say about freaky? Hop this isn’t safe, let’s just leave and not give Magicli anything with what he wants.”

I turn to Magicli, Wondering why he even gives me the option to cheat now if I’m so against it, and why he’s been personally messaging me with a keen interest in me, instead of Alex or anybody else I’ve hanged out with, or even an random student. what brings me apart from anybody else? Is it Beans? Is it because he see’s me as an easy target. Why-

“Why do you keep following me around Magicli? With these Offers and these “exclusive deals?”, why not Alex? Posini or anybody else? Why do you care so much about my life? Is it because you see me as an easy target? Are we in some sort of game and I’m the Audeince’s favourite? Why are you such a stickler for the rules, yet you make me the exception? Just Fucking Tell me Already, Magicli! I’m Sick of it!”

Magicli rolls his eyes and begins clapping.
“My, my, Hop your so self-centred, thinking that the entire world revolves around you, It doesn't even revolve around me, and I’m Magicli; the Greatest magician in all of Muani, and yet you think I care? Pfft.. you make me laugh Hop.”

“You forget, I can read people’s minds, communicate telepathically, split off as illusions of myself and talk to many different people simultaneously. While your brain takes minutes to process anything, I can process multiple things in 10000’th of a second. And I have been talking to other students. However, I’m not publicly open about it, since what would be the fun of knowing who uses my services? I’ve offered Alex my services before; he’s just not talked about it since he’s made it clear he doesn’t trust me. I’ve egged him on, yet he still resists; I guess killing someone and bringing them back from the dead takes the trust out of people.”
He chuckles before quickly snapping over to me and staring me down.

Oops forget the rez rule. Still, would have figured he'd be fine with bending the law (since monokuma was) without violating. Especially since playing dirty would be more fun to see. Lot harder to bend rules if the spirit of them is enforced. Oh well. 5 - just break the polymorph too since that might be abused by others. Guess we should take foresight while Alex gets invisibility since... well... sort of afraid what he'd do if he saw a bad future. Just one question - once we see it is it set in stone? D - Pretty sure this is what Hop would do regardless of what we say for good reasons. Existence erasure is crossing a line - or more like thousands of lines. Even by leaving it alone we'd be an accessory if it got used. Little confused since we're doing F? Like is this changing things going forward? Last one is hard. Discuss with Alex why it feels wrong. Seems like it wants to be used?

And you remember that the daisies don’t like your family too much, but should you tell her that you like her?

Choice Path 1:

* [A] You like your friend romantically and end up as anaeally cute childhood lesbian seedling lover.

[C] you are just a confused little seedling, and maybe you should try exploring your sexuality when you are a teenager, instead of being in love when you're still learning about the world.

All that we need is matches go to the library and start a fire, the puppet master has been attacking us so let's return the favor. Let's hurt him this can create a huge distraction or a huge destruction. So it is a win-win scenario, we need for him to fear us and to know that we can fuck up his shit.

"I do like the sound of a grappling knife." you say "It should pair well with the long knife I already have."

The matches are giving you some troubling ideas, but they would be so useful. "Tell me, how loud are the-" before you can even finish the thought Kate claps her paws together just short of your nose. "That loud!" the shrews all snicker as you jerk back. "Hmmph, well give me one of those and a couple torches." you grumble, rubbing your snoot.

"Ya got it, boss!" Geoff offers a sloppy salute while his sisters eagerly bundle the supplies into the cart. "Come by in the morn-" CLANG "the morning ta" CLANG "TA PICK UP THE" CLANG "THE GOODS!"
A final clang and a wrenching snap ring out, accompanied by giggling. You look into the cart to see the scissors already unscrewed, and the first half cleft blade from handle in some torturous looking springed contraption. Kate draws the cart cover closed "Kee hee, no peeking silly."

Shoed away from the cart, you make your way over to the far wall, where the Surrep's family's tents are visible high up on a shelf. With no obvious way up you dig your claws into the rough shed wall and climb.

Reaching the shelf, you are met with a gangly young rat. He reaches down and helps you up, pointing towards the larger tent as he does. "They're waiting for you." he mutters, then turns back to watching the camp below. With no further conversation coming you slip into the tent.

A small lantern hangs from the tent pole, the fungo inside shedding its sullen glow into the gloom. The rats seated within look up at your arrival, and a figure you can just make out as Surrep gets to her feet. "Good, everyone's here then." Pulling a pinch of punk from her belt, she feeds it to the fungo, which chitters and brightens.

The light washes over the rough looking rats, including one big enough to loom, even while seated. He inclines his head to you, waving a hand to indicate you should be seated. "Well met, Tem'rty." he rasps "My name is Tempestuous, or Pestuous for short. On behalf of the Shale Ledge family I bid you welcome."

"As you're here, I presume Surrep has told you our story, and you are willing to help. Suffice to say, we will have vengeance on the monster of this house. Tell me, as an outside perspective, what would you say we most need to do this?"

Dealing with this puppetmaster feels like making one step forward and making two steps back, maybe we should change our approach. Instead of moving slowly from one room to the other, why don't we enter the room from the chimney opening? His monsters will never see us coming, he will probably not see us coming from that entrance. My question is has anybody else tried this approach?

This is our chance to influence things in Lisel's favor. What we need is intelligence and new approaches. We have the element of surprise, and shouldn't surrender it; but it's not enough. We need to know more about the Master, and how he runs the house, in order to know how to strike a killing blow to his control over it. Our current means are insufficient to accomplish shuch a coup, as well; we need weapons capable of standing up to the Master, of effecting whatever blow we determine is necessary.
