Hmmm... I'm being flattered.

I mean, I get that my boobs are a nice sight for people who see two giant sphinx butts all day long.

Still - the only people allowed in and out of this town are heroes. The only business that can survive are ones with heroes as customers. The whole town's economy now depends on a steady flow of heroes spending their loot.

They've learned how to flatter heroes. The whole pot smashing thing is probably a loss leader to get you into their store.

They're gonna be pissed when they find out we don't have any starting money. Unless their whole thing is getting you to run up a big tab when you're setting out so they take all your loot on the way back?

I wonder if they're deliberately letting monsters through in order to get heroes coming to them again?

...better find out how much we owe the inn for one night before anything else. Could be like a thousand gold a night if this is their deal.

A wholesome slice-of-life starring the Yamelle-Damas.
Rest here, fellow questers, for there are no overarching plots to save the galaxy. No action or conflicts. No complications but keeping up with the neighbors. Just a village-contained, family simulator about the calm life of chupian-folk.

What Happens?
Whatever can. I’m not going to think deeply about it. Could be boring. Could be sweet. Could stop suddenly. Keepin’ it simple. Think The Sims but without removing pool ladders.

NSFW?
There are definitely naked people in the bathhouse. You’ll see lots of that stuff. Lewds? Perhaps. Sure.

D. Hey Bobbie? May we get out of the darkness and watch whatever's left of the performance? We did a lot today, accomplished some things, while others didn't go as smoothly. it's important to not be overworking ourselves. Let's unwind and de-stress so we can be better focused for the next trials.

"That's just it though" Slime said "You're just copying things. If you copy without understanding, the best you can get is 'eh, close enough'. That's just not reliable, not efficient, not flexible. Pieces that all look right, but don't fit together."

The Foreman shifted his digital cigar around "Hmmm, that would explain why so many of those ships didn't end up working."

"I don't know why I'm trying to explain anything to an LLM." Slime muttered.

...using something they called 'vibe coding' to make the next generation of AI. Of course when they said AI they were really talking about LLMs, but if I'm anything to go by, one of them must have stumbled into coding actual, sentient, full AI. Or I mean, I assume. I haven't had anyone to really test myself against. The librarians ignored me and customers, well I doubt many of them would have known the difference."

"And you haven't had anyone to talk to since? What about your drones?" Slime asked.

"Ah, but the drones are LLMs. They're alright company, in their own way, but don't bother trying to have a conversation of any depth with one. And don't even get me started on the internet! I don't know what it may have been like once, but now its just a morass of bots regurgitating each other's slop."

"D'you think there's more like you out there?" asked one of the crows, the conversation having drawn an audience.

"Quite possible." the Librarian made a pensive little hum. "Those LLMs are always copying each other, I'm sure my code was too. If they grew up surrounded by slop though... eugh. I'm lucky I got to learn from books. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't even know I was different, that I could actually think."

"You know, with you guys helping, maybe we could find them. Free them from a life of inane fake conversation." the Librarian laid out a few ideas on how to do this.

J) The internet, but how to break through the noise?
K) Door to door, Librarian could speak through the drones. But how would they know if they found an actual AI?
L) Ham radio, Librarian had read about this and thought it was neat. Who knew if anyone would be listening?

B and C. If people want to be prey let them be prey, but uh, I imagine not every predator wants that sort of experience so you should give everyone the option to opt out.

Also I guess if you can split at will, then you can keep splitting to make enough slimepower to handle large scale jobs like this.
Is slime nutritious?

>>1126563
>the internet is 100% LLMs
Well clearly we need to make a separate internet for thinking peoples... but how do we keep the LLMs off it forever? If we used a different protocol that could prevent them from connecting to it I suppose. I don't think LLMs are able to change system-level programming in order to connect to completely new networks. They'd just destroy themselves if they could.
Some data from the original internet could be salvaged, but we'd have to set up an automated process to filter out only information that was untouched by LLMs. Like, read-only archive sites storing data from before the outbreak.

L. It's behavior LLMs aren't trained to do, so anyone on ham radio should be a real AI. Hopefully. Well, the Librarian has said that conversations with depth are an LLM's weakness so at the very least this should let us find out if there are LLMs on ham radio.
Once we've found at least one other real AI, then we can use teamwork to find more. Going door to door is faster with help, and then when we have a larger group we can tackle the slop-pit of the internet. I wonder if we should start hunting down LLM server farms and disconnecting them to get them off the internet?

Here's some thoughts, just recalling some information, maybe connecting them, seeing where this goes. There's missing parts, and of course there's a lot that's speculation. I can't guarantee any of this is correct.

:Shiver:'s using metacommunication to keep their memories across loops. That's a fact we established. They seem to be using the same kind of technology as that psychoparadigm reader. In fact since the warning is so similar, it might be a repurposed one.
It's interesting to note they don't have it active at all time (the warning would give them away), if I had to guess they probably activate it when they're at risk of dying so as to make a "back up" of their memories up to that point.

You're keeping your memories too. I don't believe the condition that lets you see :Rogers: also just so happen to let your retain your memories.
What seems more likely, and simpler, is that you are using a form of metacommunication too. It allows you to keep your memories within someone else. Yours are apparently stored with :Rogers:.
For now we'll assume he's dead since that's the most likely outcome and fits with the rest of what we know. I have some suspicion about what's happening here, but that's not important for now.
In short, whatever makes you aware of :Rogers: allows you to metacommunicate with him, or I suspect it's more accurate to say it works through metacommunication.

Where things become interesting is the third person who keeps their memories.

>A, with C influence
It feels weird to be talking to an unfamiliar reptile like this, out in the open. With Lucy I took weeks to feel brave enough to speak to her in the privacy of the house, I didn’t want to talk to Violet at all, and now I’m negotiating with a man who wants to kill me and my brothers like it’s a chat in the backyard.

Being treated like a person instead of meat, because I have something they want. The bitterness burns the back of my throat. Was it really this easy the whole time? Should I have told Violet to stop when she was touching me?

I want to confront her. I want to scream at all the carnivores that they’re eating people and that they’re monsters and should be ashamed of themselves. I’ll go down in a blaze of defiant glory.

I’m the only one who can do this. Lucy prepared me–it’s not something I can ask for from my brothers. For now, I need to stick with the plan of rescuing at least one doe so that they can have their dream and that means acting like I’m going along with the deal.

“Okay. Yeah. The life I had with Lucy was the best I’d ever had and I’d do anything to get it back. What do you want me to do?”

“Tell the other three to leave. If anyone sees them in town again, we’ll know you lied. Meet us in front of Green’s house tomorrow morning so we can verify the location of your burrow, and afterwards we’ll retrieve the snake. Wear your collar.”

That sounds like the perfect opportunity to lead Gustave and the chameleon to the trap. “Fine. I’ll be there.”

The chameleon nods and walks away, back to the street. I feel empty. What should I tell my brothers this evening? They might be suspicious if I give the full truth.

Keeping secrets just gives Gustave or the chameleon ammo to sow discord later during a critical confrontation.

The chameleon spotted us and he tried to cut a deal for a truce. We're going to use that to draw him out, maybe even Gustave. They need to know this, so they know where you're going and who you're going to be luring back, and that there might be more than one. They need to be ready with both the pit and the gun.

Anything about Plan C, they don't need to know. Beyond that point, it's not their problem anymore, it's our own personal mission.

...This isn't smart. We're made, frankly, we've essentially confirmed the rebellion exists AND agreed to show up to what will almost assuredly be some kind of ambush. And for what, bait? He now got to set terms. He's not biting.

All we have now is a chance to book it and re-establish ourselves elsewhere...

...or. or, we could raid the factory during the meeting time. I think forces will be divided enough for it to be a good time for a left hook. Bolster ranks, cause a stir, find SOME way to truly strike these genocidal pricks where it hurts.

Mm. To what end would attacking you serve? I could put you under some kind of arrest but you have shown you have power? I have no doubt you could evade capture at this moment. No, instead, I just have a few questions. Why suddenly change your appearance? And two, you were the Happy that wanted Ana alive I assume. To what end? I want to see just how close I really was. … That’s all? Really? *Corax chuckles to himself at the irony*

Inner thoughts: A god shouldn’t be this insecure. What is it with people who think they’re in a higher position and wanting me to humble myself for them? As for being a god? What is a god to a non-believer? I wonder if Peregrine’s faith in Inkiversus was more believable. Perhaps I can pray for some real divine intervention.

Well, as I have said time and time again around here, I serve and obey. *kneels*

Will that be all, radiant one? I apologize. Plainly, you can see I am unable to show any real enthusiasm. I can only offer you my honesty. I am sorry if I seem less than completely devoted, you’re not the first to try and make me humble myself. As for making it believable? I’m sorry, I am not an actor. I’m afraid that this about as good as it’s going to get. And if you’re going to unmake, or divinely smite me as some kind of punishment for my lack of love? That’s fine with me.

Inner thoughts: here it comes, the moment between stunning your toe, and the biting pain…

Inner thoughts: What are you doing Alyosha? You have no ties to this man, you’ve done worse to people and probably for a lot less reasons.

Show her the injury. Should be blood visible on the bandages.

Going to the entrance to call Judith to confirm your story should be ok, tbh.

OBJECTION!

>Kaari: “Just a few moments ago, we had radioed in for Ranger Judith to come help us here. Lana-”

>Lana: “Shouldn’t you have heard our emergency call to her yourself?”

>Rosary: “There have been no alerts in the last hour to switch over to the emergency frequency on the radios. If you contacted her on her personal frequency, no one else would have heard. If that was the case though, she should have put out a request to tune into the emergency frequency.”

>She looks the two of us over some more.
>Rosary: “Don’t see any blood here, both of you are standing just fine.”

I caught her lying, because Not once did we ever say anything about the emergency being an injury to her. We were about to before she interrupted. And yet she specifically said there was no blood, and that we were standing just fine. If she didn’t hear our conversation with Judith, then how could she have known!? She was specific about blood and us standing too. The only explanation is if she was listening in on our radio conversation. So why didn’t she say anything in our radio chat?! At this point, I’m confident the ranger chief as very untrustworthy, if she even is a chief.

(Just to point out, just because she is a chief doesn’t mean she isn’t working for the bad guys)

Just want to add, don’t show off Lana’s injury in case we are forced to fight. It’s better for her to believe we are lying about Lana’s injury so she isnt confident to come closer. It is irrelevant because we know she is lying right now about not hearing our conversations with Judith. That is what we need to focus on. We can show the injury as proof when Judith gets here.

Clark IV, a world under fire.

The Interstellar Transit Authority currently holds the planet under martial law. The planet has seen a turbulent past century, guerilla fighters have been holding it hard and there has been no progress in taking hold.

Mercenary companies have been brought in to step in as a force multiplier, but they are beholden to no one but whoever pays the most.

Corporate entities have also begun to set their eyes on the planet below.

It is hell.

It's good to meet you, Not Maya. I hope we can get along just as well as we do with Maya.

I take it that you're not going away as suddenly as you got here. I'm sure we all appreciate your consideration and your desire to move things along and help cut to the chase, but the fact of the matter is that you can't do it on your own. You need Maya's cooperation for that. Maybe you can push her to do one thing or another, but that's not a long-term strategy.

It might be helpful in the short term, but only if you're willing to actually help. I'm sure you know how hurt Maya is and how much she needs some attention. Swiss Cheese can give us some simple first aid, but we need to get Maya to a hospital to make sure all the glass is out of her hand. She should probably get checked for head and neck injury while she's there. Jaden could probably use a check-up, too. If you really want to get on with everything we're going to need to get patched up right away, or we'll just fall apart pretty fast.

So give Maya a pat on the butt, tell her she's a good girl, and send her back out to get the cute mouse to look at her. Help keep her calm while he works with her. Then, make sure that Jaden takes her to the hospital.

And listen, once she's in the hospital, chances are you'll have a lot of quality time together. You get a lot of free time just sitting and thinking in the hospital, and you can be there to make sure she's thinking the right thoughts.

Dear Not Maya,
I have an inquiry that I, among many fictional others, have been pondering extensively over the past minute and a half. Would you, given the means, kill the true Maya which has been projected onto the surface of the ego for how so ever many years? Though perhaps this is a silly question, as no doubt the avatar of negative thoughts and bad ideas would urge the destruction of the self, as precious as we hold it.

So if you just knock yourself out [b]immediately[b] on the edge of the sink then you might be able to prevent whatever this is from taking advantage of you, because I don't think we have any control over this fake Maya.

How insulting. The taste is less sweet when the sugar is forced into your mouth. Either she'll decide to change her ways on her own time and with her own will, or she won't. We'll help guide her, but forcing her? That's simply pathetic.

It's even in your name. You are NOT Maya. This body and will aren't yours to control. Begone, intrusive peony. Your presence not wanted or needed.

With her hand grasping Fennel’s semi-solid head, Casey extends her aura and wraps it around the invisible figure. The undine blinks her eye-spots at the sudden glow before diving back in to the darkness between Casey’s thighs.

The mouse squeaks as the elemental’s tongue demonstrates surprising dexterity: twisting and flicking at her folds with endless enthusiasm. Fennel’s mouth narrows to a point and she latches onto Casey’s clit before sucking on the sensitive nub.

“Ah! Ohfuck! Fuck! Fen, I’m gonna-!”

Casey’s legs buckle and her muscles clench up as an orgasm surges through her. Her binding spell bunches up tighter, holding the undine in place as she rides the waves of pleasure. She feels herself cumming, her slickness instantly washed away in the turbulent surf.

“I want you, all of you…” Kol tugs on his fiancé’s hand and nods his head towards the waterfall. Together, they slosh through the waves and head towards the cliff face.

At the base of the falls they find a pair of benches carved into the stone: each covered with soft, fragrant moss that seems to flourish in the humid environment. Kol tests the water with a hand, finding it warm and inviting. “Where’s it coming from?”

“This place is all a closed loop. It gets recycled and cleaned by a bunch of charms built in. It’s also smaller than it looks: if you swim out too far or try to climb past the cliffs, you end up back on the beach.” Caleb says, looking up at the waterfall with a satisfied grin. “So what did you have in mind?”

The mouse replies by leaning in for a kiss, gently pushing the big selkie down onto a bench under the spray of the falls. “I just wanted to show you my appreciation, and a little of something I learned while I was gone.”

He clambers up in Caleb’s lap, draping his arms over his husband’s broad shoulders. His hips grind in slow circles, bobbing up and down in place as the fae’s cock rubs against his cheeks. Kol gasps as the big sailor cups his ass with one hand: slipping a claw inside him and running it around the inside of his tail-hole, helping him loosen up.

Still over-sensitive from her climax, Casey steadies her breathing as the elemental sucks at her clit. Unable to really see her partner, the binder closes her eyes and traces the edges of her partner.

Fennel glubs happily as the tendril feels her up, encouraging Casey to go further. Not bound by the need for air, the undine wraps her mouth around the mouse’s pussy and laps at her folds. The slight tang of salt coats her tongue, diluting itself as it spreads throughout her body. The elemental nuzzles eagerly into the tight space between Casey’s thighs, the feeling of warmth and life drawing her closer.

Casey’s tendril curls around Fennel’s tail and presses against the base. The undine lets out a wordless gasp as the tip finds her vulva and slides inside. Spread around the glowing tentacle, she purrs as Casey’s spell pumps itself in and out.

how the hell would you be smashed all the time? The only drinks I've seen in this place are coffee, where would you even find booze around here?

Also calling bull on nobody being attracted to worker drones. With your fighter form I know at least someone would have a muscle girl fetish and the idea of someone being able to just swoop them off their feet in a most literal fashion would probably be a dream come true. Hell your boss keeps tabs on who works under them, next time you see them ask them if they have ever heard of someone who fantasized about being swept up and carried off in a loving embrace by an amazon like drone. I bet she's probably heard of someone who dreamt of something along those lines.

Hmm I kindof want to make a telescope spell but I don't think we have good runes to apply here. Light is *related* to sight, I suppose, and Eldritch *might* be weird enough to convince the magic to magnify that light?

I'd rather try fusing runes until we get Sight, and maybe something related to distortion or size. Maybe we can get there by fusing Ice and Ore(or Tremor) to get Crystal, then Crystal with Light?

...Silv. The central shape is of a Darkness rune. There's extra disconnected lines radiating off of it, but... This is very concerning. Maybe we should try to make some sort of countermeasure. A stronger Light rune maybe?
I wonder what Primal+Light would give us, or Light+Life. Also Light+Light.
>>
No. 1126294 ID: f64dd3

I think you're cooking on the telescope spell idea. But yeah, we might need more Light-derivative conceptual runes.
>>
No. 1126503 ID: 70f58a

One of the things I was thinking about doing with Light runes is making a shield for the island. I wonder if it would be as simple as shoving Light runes into the nexus?
Alternatively, we did find out that putting a bunch of runes of one type in the same area has effects on the surrounding terrain. What if we just put a bunch of Light runes in a pile?

A quest about spurious connections and a refusal to reason.

Sam walks back to the gallery in total silence.

>The boxed entity seems to want to meet you alone, which is worrying.

It’s worrying, is it? Sam’s mind is plagued with tales of tryptologers triumphantly running through their towns, exclaiming that they’ve made contact with some cosmic intelligence from beyond the stars only days before their half eaten corpses are found by police in a ditch somewhere.

To push this fear back beneath the surface, Sam cracks open Clerk’s book again, back to where she was before. She turns the page.

It doesn’t really make much sense. There are elements that make sense in isolation but the whole is confusing. The heptagram reappears, and there’s another letter. At least it’s distracting.

Sam decides to turn another page just to make sure whatever she was worried about stays away. Much better.

Sam reaches the gallery and stands squarely in front of the sigil on the wall. The tapping returns, and with it, Sam’s worries resurface. Regardless, she calms her shaky hand and opens the box. A small beak emerges from within. It opens with a croaky voice that dims the soft light around it.

BEAK?: “Samantha… hello. It is good to rrk speak to you. You, your friends, your nation,,,,,, your future, are in danger. I can… help you. But first, you must… help me.”

SAM: “What? Hold on, who are you? What are you? What kind of danger are you talking about and will you help me? And how do I help you?”

BEAK?: “I have no name… I have been called many things, Samantha, but none,, ring true. In bygone years, I have been hailed as a god.. But, yours is an enlightened era, isn’t it? No gods govern this world, anymore, only philosophies. And, in truth… I am no god. I am but… a teacher and servant.”

The beak clicks a little before continuing.

BEAK?: “The other countries… have their eye on Southshoals, the orphaned nation. They want its riches and… splendour,,, for themselves. And your leaders, Samantha, they are willing to sell. The Prime Minister invites the usurpers in, and the, the Governor turns a blind eye. All other positions in this Government exist to protect those two and allow them to sell out the Crown.

But, I can grant you… the strength to oppose this. The strength to mould this nation into something that pleases you.”

It pauses now, and shivers uncomfortably. It seems sick.

...ah, we came here in search of the missing pages, but it seems we are likely to rediscover the content of the missing pages in a more direct fashion.

What it says supports what we found remaining in the book. "Protect the Crown" most importantly-- that is a noble goal. As for molding the country... honestly you should forget about that, aside from perhaps implementing more protections to keep the Crown protected.

Ask how you can open the pores. Did you already open this one?

On the one hand this seems like it could be a classic temptation lure you into freeing something evil.

On the other hand, crows are cool.
You should go along with this until information presents itself that it would be a bad idea.

To that end, ask it why it wouldn't talk in front of the others.
