Inner thoughts: Wait, the one bringing the doctor to her cell? That would mean… Murdusa? No, no that can’t be right. He may have worked for Happy, but he was not that smart. He was an idiot. Although I understand why he was pushing back so hard on us now. If he was working with Happy. This will have to be investigated further

I am fine Doctor, merely a scratch. As it happens, it seems the now deceased Murdusa was working with Happy. I’ll find my way down to you and Hopkins momentarily.

*Corax turns back to where he thinks Toothpick is*
I can only spare you so long, Ana. If you are wanting some kind of immunity from further complications with the Tribunal, I am already looking into the matter. But I must say, the man you just killed, I don’t believe he was the true Happy. Merely someone wearing the mask.

The snake guy, eh? So Happy had infiltrators that high up, surely he has escaped by now.

So what's the prognosis Doc? Is this guy gonna make it?

> "Ah. Well, looks like you already know too much. So here's what is going to happen. You're going to close up shop, take a week-long vacation, and when you come back, we'll be done fixing it, and you will forget everything you saw here.
> I'm serious. No yapping about this when you grow liver spots and boobs. All the stuff you see on TV about folks disappearing for blabbing? You're going to wish that's what happens if you let yourself become a loose end."

Okay, look, this seems like exactly what Agent Gladii warned me about. I don't want to traumatize this dude for life. Just thinking about it makes me feel bad! I don't wanna assume you're just being cruel for the heck of it, but maybe you could uh... give me your reasoning when you give me ideas like this? Please?
If what you're getting at is that you want him out of the way, maybe there's a gentler way to make that happen.

> So based on the information we have, it seems likely to be an entity. If it was some kind of trap, or space based effect, the woman wouldn't have needed to run. The sheriff, would have seen the man's body and been able to avoid what killed him if it was fixed to a location.
And by entity, you mean something... alive? Oh dear I hope not.
Interesting observations, though. It's something that can be avoided, because there is at least one survivor or escapee. Though it's possible she only managed to run because her companion got grabbed first? She did get his backpack, though.

> What did the two strangers look like, and what did the sheriff look like?

:silicon_suits_purple:Fera: "Could you describe the two strangers in a bit more detail?"
David: "I didn't really get that good a look of them. When they arrived I never got very close and when the chick ran, everything turned into a bit of a blur. Let's see..."
He squints.
David: "So the dude was wearing cargo pants with big pockets. He had long straight hair. Brown I think? The chick was wearing a black sweater dress. There was some sort of symbol on it. Kinda like a nuclear warning sign but made of four dots. Uuuhhh her hair was bleached white."
:silicon_suits_purple:Fera: "Thank you. And the Sheriff?"
David: "Well, he wore a uniform. Older guy, pushing at least fifty. Portly. Clean shaven."

> I find it odd, he mentioned the skin around the girl's eyes being red, in a way that suggests that's a notably weird symptom, but also, he too has red eye-skin. I don't know what to DO with that information, but.
> Beyond that, sounds like the girl got pepper sprayed

Hmm. Yeah his eyes are a bit red. Could be a connection?

It's got your symbol on it. I think it must be related to your special ability- every agent has one I guess. Try taking it?
Also reassure him. This isn't something he should've messed with. He did the right thing by waiting for the professionals.
>>

Put your hands on his shoulders. He needs a little human contact.
Tell him that he did good, he did his best, and that this isn't his fault.
Tell him to lock up and to go home, even if today's shift isn't over he needs rest. He deserves it.
The professionals are here, and we'll take care of it.
>>
No. 1105950 ID: 4c750c

Yeah, I think we give the guy some reassurance, and then use the physical contact to retrieve this card. It seems connected to you specifically, I think the reason it doesn’t fall out on its own is it *needs* you to take it from him. Oh! You might not know how we know that symbol is “yours!” Our interface for hearing your thoughts is more of a visual one. When you speak out loud, your dialogue is accompanied by a little blue swirl like the one on the card. Similarly Gladii’s dialogue has a little sword next to it. This seems to just be an agent thing, since David has no symbols. But the swirl is yours and it’s on the card, so! Card get time!

assure that you're not mad at Ellie.

Also, tell her that as far as being worried about people gawking at her as she exercises, that is actually natural concern that women have at gyms, and because of that, there are gyms out there that have womens only areas where she can exercise in peace. And if that don't work, you will challenge anyone who stares at her... or maybe just alert staff and kick them out (the boring way)

As far as trying to feel like how she should instead of feeling like she does, tell her that how she feels now is how she should feel. That's what makes her what she is, and why you all love her. She doesn't need Vulpes Veritas for that.
>>
No. 1105943 ID: c5529d

Oh yeah, and we don't need to bring Landi with us if she's going to make a huge deal about Ellie's secret, she's definitely going to spread rumors. Make this girls night out without Landi, not that you hate her, but you all can use a break from her wild nature now and then. Plus she wouldn't be interested in working out anyways.

After gym practice, you all can go out for ice cream or something as a treat.
>>
No. 1105944 ID: bfd8fc

>>1105940

Fair point, Vivi literally just trusted you with this knowledge, and you're turning around and forcing her to be open about it. It'd be one thing if you said you wouldn't tell anyone, as Rocio dragging Ellie into this is out of your hands, but you agreed to keep the secret. Making plans that directly result in her getting outed as generously breasted goes directly counter to that agreement.

That isn't to say that you shouldn't encourage her to overcome her insecurities about it, but that's gonna have to be a long-term project that you should work on with her over the course of the semester. Letting Rocio drag her into forced exercise at the gym means letting her secret get outted before she's overcome it herself. That's an outcome you should avoid.

That said, you've already given Ellie the tool she needs to get away from Rocio, so frankly you've done your part. Ellie can free herself if she wants, and if she doesn't? Well then that sounds like she's chosen to face her fears instead. Good for her!

TL;DR: Don't force her to accept the punishment, but don't go out of your way to prevent it. Let Ellie choose between using the tactic you gave her against Rocio or accepting her secret's release. It's a win-win for you, whichever she chooses.
>>
No. 1105945 ID: 6b8094

It made Rocio really mad, too. You don't Ellie really mad at you too, do you? Not after she shared those huge... secrets with you?
Still, she shouldn't feel like she has to rely on a foxy potion to feel confident. You can feel that way without fur, too! She just needs some time to let that sink in before showing it off to Landi.

All this was triggered by a bout of edging where jess could not admit that it was to much for her beacuse of the competative spirit and henrys confidence has been sort of damaged by the shock collar thing.
Also been thinking if this continued i had basically planned for becca to be the surrogate or birthmother and jess gets to be dads with Henry

A)

Wanting different things from your partner is natural.
The question is how much different; is the difference way too much, and how much of it is insurmountable.
If Henry is internalizing the whole situation, and actually attempting to accept some of it, that's his choice of how to cope with the situation and he might come to term with it, or decide it is way too much and ask himself if breaking is unavoidable, so its at least worth a try, he's just saying he needs time.

You did lie, but then you told the truth, stop beating yourself over it being a natural continuation of anything, it really isn't, you tried to right a wrong and you did, having a relationship while continuing to hide behind a lie would've been much more hurtful in the long run for yourself and having a relation that started with a lie but then was rebuilt on trust is already a step in the right path.

Now Henry knows what this is about, everybody knows what they want, and believing it can or cannot work is completely up to both parties willingness to accept things for what they are and compromising, or deciding if things aren't worth the effort and giving up.

If you still ask yourself the question then you're unsure, and if you're unsure then you're not yet ready to give up, now you could always just enjoy the date the best you can, let Henry come to term with his own choices, eventually time will heal the wounds and he won't be grumpy forever (this is practically impossible) and ask him later if he thinks breaking up is something he'd want, because it's not like your entire marriage was build around your gender, there has been other factors and reasons that led you both to decide it was something you wanted.

This sort of decision isn't something you decide yourself without asking your partner, and maybe find some counseling somewhere.
>>
No. 1105933 ID: 0db8d3

A.
Henry is overthinking this so bad. Like. If you're happy then he's not preventing you from being... well you, right? And that kinda makes sense. Marriage is the sort of partnership where your identity gets wound up with someone else, after-all. That aside, if you're happy then what's the problem in the first place?

In fact. Tell him that.
If you're happy, then he's not doing anything wrong or bad to you. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that.
>>
No. 1105935 ID: 81f1c7

Alright heavy shit aside, you didn't go through the effort of preparing this outfit for nothin', right?
Flick that tail, wiggle that butt. He's close enough to notice if his eyes land in the right spot.

Yeah the mood's weird now, but goddamnit maybe this date can be salvaged if you can short-circuit his brain and drag his mind back to the present instead of... Wherever the fuck it is right now.
>>
No. 1105937 ID: 99a466

A

I recommend against repeated attempts at seduction. Henry has made his position clear, and he's not in a mood to be tempted. If you keep trying, you're showing disrespect for his feelings and boundaries.

He's a big old softie! He's only mean to you when he thinks you'll like it, or maybe when there's no other way to get through to you. You gotta show that you get the message. The date was supposed to be fun, but it's also a break from routine; a new venue might be a good opportunity to talk things over from a fresh perspective. If you can find a stretch of beach to walk along that's private enough, or a deserted corner near an ice cream stand, maybe try broaching some of the big topics.

The two big ones he just cited are 1) that he wants you to be happy, and he doesn't want to stand in the way of your happiness, and 2) he feels like he can't trust you. This is a thorny combo: if he feels like he can't trust you, then he won't trust that you're really satisfied when you say you are. You have to tell it to him in a way he'll believe, and that might be hard for you. You've been telling him that you're happy enough, and that you see it as a worthwhile compromise to forego some things that would be nice to have in your life to have him, but that hasn't worked; it's not what he's looking for. He's a softy, he's sensitive, and he loves you--he doesn't want you to have to compromise, and every time you tell him he's worth a few sacrifices is a reminder that because he's here with you, you're not the person you wish you were. Your psycopathy might make it difficult to understand, but Henry doesn't want to negotiate or make a deal with you--he wants desperately to be able to help you live the life you want to live, and he's frightened and hurt at the idea that he might not fit into that life.

Hey now, she said only a couple questions, that’s one more than a couple. No offense, but that is something we need from people who work with us: honesty. If we are not on the same page with things, it can be detrimental. Not that we don’t want to answer her question, more that we need to to make sure she is true to her word so that in a dire situation, we have trust in each others words

Clark IV, a world under fire.

The Interstellar Transit Authority currently holds the planet under martial law. The planet has seen a turbulent past century, guerilla fighters have been holding it hard and there has been no progress in taking hold.

Mercenary companies have been brought in to step in as a force multiplier, but they are beholden to no one but whoever pays the most.

Corporate entities have also begun to set their eyes on the planet below.

It is hell.

You launch the mech forward at another training unit, commanding it to use melee... partway through you cancel, but you get an error of feedback run through your spine. It doesn't know what to do, it tossed the ranged weapon aside, it is set on melee.

You figure that if they were here to kill you they would've made the jump by now. Rounding the corner into the closest alley, you wait, your senses strained to hear muffled footsteps approach at an even, patient pace. You almost want to yell at them to hurry it up.

Eventually, a figure comes into view, a taller, slightly lankier wolf in jorts and a rolled up button up that's just barely doing its job. He stops once he sees you in the corner of his eye, paws pivoting as he turns to face you. You don't see.. full recognition in his eyes... but he seems to know something.

You frown under the mask, it's unmistakable that this is one of the Bites. But how would he know of you or even to follow...

"Hey," he drawls out, voice surprisingly young, almost teenage-like, "You got a smoke?"

You blink at him. He slouches as he stares at you with an odd air. He couldn't have seen you at the party. They would've barred him from entry. A coincidence? Couldn't be...

The gears turn. You realize you're taking too long to respond, the fatigue starting to catch up. You shrug your shoulders, feeling the weight of Eiko's gun from the pull of your jacket, trying to figure his angle, "Yeah, here."

You reach into your pocket for the smokes.

A claw lashes through the air. You backstep quickly, the wild swipe missing your chest but tears at your jacket, fabric straining then ribboning. A heavy ring shatters the air from Eiko's gun landing and skidding, your inventory cards flying out after and scattering across the alley floor.

Your blood runs hot at the sight. Murderous.

The wolf reels back, quickly creating distance. "Whew, real fast cat," his head turns this way and that at the floor in confusion, "The fuck, did you rob a casino?"

You don't respond, stancing up, your fists tight as you hold them up in a boxer's stance.

He takes another step back, eyes narrowing at the gun then back to you, "That's one of ours," his ears fold back with a snarl, "What else did you take?"

You grit your teeth, "What's your goddamn problem?"

He shifts his weight, "You smell like a wolf, but you ain't a wolf. And I've never seen you around before. You get me?"

A real shoot first asshole here. You almost laugh. "You ever heard of friends?"

His arm stretches out, cutting off the exit, "You're no friend of mine. Give me what you got."

Your knife sheathed to your left arm waits for your hand. The spell cards in your left side are also untouched. Eiko's gun's across the floor. The only card face up is the ring.

What do you aim for?
>>
No. 1105810 ID: 0db8d3

Let's do this quick and dirty.
Pull out your knife in reverse grip then lunge for an obvious but difficult to dodge swipe at his mid section. Instead of striking for the midsection though, swing up towards the incoming block or counterattack while activating the plasma-cutter function.
He won't be needing that hand soon anyway.

Early autumn is pleasant in Cedar Ridge. Summer's hottest days are behind you and the shade of the Douglas fir trees that blanket the town keep the underbrush cool.

North of the lake that divides the town are sets of woods. Interrupted only by mud roads and storm drains that rarely see use outside of the rainy season. This grove is only a mile from the town's one high school. Frequented by teens and alcoholics alike for bonfire parties that leaves the smell of ash in the air. This far east into Oregon the breeze is warm and sluggish, trapped in by mountain ranges.

From where you stand you can hear when the occasional truck passes through Cedar Ridge's main road. Barely. It helps you keep your facing when you're unsure which way is home.

You are in the north in the outskirts of town.

You try to leave, maybe they're still waiting for you, but Nathan holds you back with his sweaty hand.
You smack it away before he can grab you again.

"I'll let you and your friend go, if you promise me you didn't touch anything." He's still mad about the arm as if there isn't a ghost hanging out over here. "I'm serious Riley."
All things considered it's a kind offer from a guy whose nuts you kicked.

Admittedly, she seems to still be trapped. I think Vi.al sent her away because he couldn't prove that she didn't have directives with her lord still alive. Either he's learned from this or it tells you more about the kind of lord he is to other Shapeless than his own with what he said.

As for Li.ni.si, ask her to go slow with it, don't see why breaking down over it would be a bad thing right now, this is the time to rest. But also that doesn't mean she will get answers. I think you are going to want to grab her and put her somewhere first, however.

Journal Entry #41

Hey, journal. I'm technically not home right now so this is more of a mental entry. My class all went on a trip to the Aelor homeland and uh... We got all split up. A few of us made our way to a seemingly abandoned city and we found Tessa in a well.

We also found a giant mysterious monolith!
That was guarded by a dragon.

Oh and that dragon is now staring at me.
