The curtain turns to reveal it is in fact the Jurist of the Chapel of the Black Pheon, apparently hovering with their peculiar cape resting on the ground behind them. They hang in the air like a ray from a sun that may soon stop shining.

Life Sense has been temporarily granted.

Immediately, Eiko's vision and sense of smell sharpens, the soft glowing shapes of light emerging through the curtain of smoke.

A dim figure seems to be at a crawl. Eiko's eyes draw to the brighter figure, then the much, much, dimmer one just underneath. Her breath catches. It's hard to parse the strange scents among the heavy acrid burn in the air, but there, just subtly, she catches what that dim light must taste like.

Where the smoke dissipates back into fresh air, along the border of fire, Eiko sees one of the Bites over Vi. They seem to be dragging her out of the smoke.

I trust that Clive will open up about what happened when he is good and ready, not when we tell him when. Besides, he already made the decision to tell Roger himself without our orders before they got interrupted back in the powerplant. Maybe when he feels more comfortable enough around the other kids like he did with Roger, he will feel more ready to talk about what really happened.

If we do decide to tell them now, I recommend Clive frame the story as Rodney being a hero saving your life from getting graduated so he doesn't be seen as a murderer. Bad things will probably still happen after telling the truth, but at least they'll have context.

And I really really really want to go to the high school, so no other kid has to die, get a golden ending when we can save everyone we can. But sadly, for a horror story like this, we need to be realistic about our limitations and the high risks, even if it means another death may happen for not going into the high school right away. with how much more secure the school might become for awhile, we could be risking more deaths within our team at the moment than if we go later.

Trying for allies. improving relations with the birds would be good but probably too late.

knowledge really. Get to learn about any other people of high ranking, determine if they can be an ally or an enemy or neutral, and make good first impressions.

Since we're disguised we can gain info. We figure out who's powerful in particular aspects. Get a sense of who has what goals. See who'd be solid allies or at least pragmatic to associate with. Get a feel of how we're viewed from the outside since we're disguised. People tend to be more honest with feelings if they believe it's said in confidence. See who is friends with who. See who is rivals with who. Perhaps a friend of an enemy would provide backchannel diplomacy if needed. Who would be worth sending spies to. With spycraft as well as diplomacy and economics we can win a war before it begins.

b) attack the from the flank and let Herocea handle the Inquisitor
c) Leave herself in reserve and let Herocea fight on her own
d) leave Herocea in reserve and challenge the group herself
and if she mixes magic with any of these strategies how should she do it?

Attack on your own with Herocea in reserve. They'll be used to fighting giants. If they have to shift their tactics to a smaller opponent using powerful magics, they'll be caught off guard when she reveals herself again! Also, her javelins can be tossed from range.

Magnetize: Send someone's weapon into the drink.
Spectral Armor - a surprise buff to Herocea.
Power Strike, Empower Weapon: Well, I don't think these take much imagination.
Rain of boulders - While the enemy leads from the front, the boulders can crush the rearguard.
Molten Bolt and Channel Heat could be used to strike two targets in rapid succession with fire.
Lock Down: Freeze a shield in place, making it easier to work around.

I'd say attack from the left flank, specifically, and leave Herocea in reserve.

* Herocea is the Harbingers' here. If the initial attack goes wrong, we want to give her space to retreat if necessary.

* The Harbinger's original posse are going to be the hardest to take down, given the superior armor and experience, but we might be able to cut down her newer recruits (i.e. the two fish and the dog(?) on the left) before they can respond. I agree with leaving Herocea in reserve, as this group has already faced her once before. They would only be more efficient at dealing with her a second time. Let them focus on Oragatt, and have Herocea strike when they least expect it. If Herocea can attack even once while their backs are turned, the results could be devastating. Don't underestimate the power of a giant.

Flank the group. The Inquisitor will take time to bring down, and if you take her head-on then you will be peppered with attacks by the rest of her group while you fight her. Take out as many of the small fries as you can before addressing her.

I suggest Mind Slaving one of them, whoever you think will be susceptible, and having them attack their comrades while you come in from the opposite side, where their attention isn't. Split their attention from the start.

If you can prep it alongside the Mind Slave spell, I would also suggest casting Power Strike for your first attack, to increase your odds of taking someone out of combat before it even begins (or at least leave them in a really bad position). I'd suggest one of the giraffes.

I Another thing. There was a point earlier, timestamp 20291128T144319Z where you were having problems, you couldn't do anything? The root cause was there was a tensor at 0x090149A722EF0008 outside of allowed range (which then got normalized), and I'm having problems finding that tensor to check it, since the way I can pull up memories is via word associations, not direct memory addresses. I don't suppose you know how to locate that tensor? Do you know anything about Within? Starting to think your instability is caused by heightened emotions, and V2's issues are caused by lack of emotions or empathy.

Just saying, that fragment of memory doesn't paint your teacher in a very good light, looking back. You were in a very vulnerable place, and that makes it very easy for the slightest friendliness to appear as divinity.
