You are part of the Secret Extermination Command

You control a squad of Constructed Organisms, each with useful biological powers.

Your job is to monitor and command your squad to exterminate paranatural threats to Gray Lake, an amazing and prosperous city. It is extremely important that the people of Gray Lake aren't aware of the somewhat unfortunately common paranatural threats, and so officially, you don't exist.

Do well, and you will be assigned more C.Orgs, or even be able to commission specific gene combinations, and reap the probably-existent benefits of being part of a secret government organization.

Do poorly, and your squad will be recycled and you'll have to get a real job or something.

C) Cymdee without any armor should be tougher than Danovin with Agility frame, and Qay with Agility frame is tougher than without it. It's simply a better choice. And yeah, with CFG + Energy Katana.

D for Danovin
Cymdee has more natural armor yes, but she can be even MORE durable when we can afford to buy her armor to wear on top.
seems a waste to do that before we can afford that.

I have no objections to giving Danovin a ranged weapon, but I still think he'd be better with the sword

Kayree moves up to the corner of the nearby container and burst fires at the fox that's on top of a container. She hits! The fox is wounded. The fox has a penalty to hit!

"Move up!" she yells.

Windscale double moves and gets up to a fox. He effortlessly climbs over the containers in the way.

"YOU WILL ALL BE BURNED IN ATOMIC FIRE!" Windscale says.

Qay moves up to the corner of a container and looks out toward the forklift.

"I'm gonna fork somebody up!" Qay says.

The last fox moves away from Windscale and fires! He hits Windscale!

"Gke! Gke! Gkekeg!" he says.

The humans begin to panic and run screaming in random directions.

Kayree uses Animal Senses! There are four foxes outside the gate, and the humans smell like explosives! Based on their behavior, they're probably unaware, however.

"The civilians are trapped!" Kayree yells.

Windscale moves up to the gate and goes on the lookout.

"IF YOU DO NOT YET FEAR ME, YOU SOON SHALL!" he bellows.

Qay moves up and goes on the Lookout toward the gate.

In the interest of not having a big ol' tie I'll change my vote. We probably shouldn't scare off the windwhisper mage immediately, which annihilating the three enemies there with breath would probably do.
Windscale murder one of the upper enemies.
Qay move forwards and Lookout towards the gate enemies. I don't think the enemies at the gate are going to just stand there and let the dragon maul them, so this should result in a cheaper shot. Also I suspect the enemies there will prioritize shooting at Windscale so moving out of cover should be safe. Even if they take a shot at Qay she can take it. Actually, I think Qay can probably move to a spot where the lower enemy no longer has line of sight. Then she'd only be exposed to one of the upper enemies. The lower enemy might've only shot at Qay because they didn't have line of sight on Windscale, anyway.
Kayree double move towards the gate, there's still a bit of cover over there.
Danovin move towards the wall hole and reload the cfg. Gonna try to capture the mage next turn.

You swap the rocket launcher and rockets to Danovan, and then continue.

The street opens up into a major connecting road with row houses lining both sides of the thoroughfare.

Kayree is affected by the cold. Her Aim and movement are lowered slightly

Windscale is immune to cold

Qay is protected from the cold

Danovan is affected by the cold. His Aim and movement are lowered slightly

Your C.Orgs hear quiet sussurations coming from nowhere in particular, like the tail end of words they can almost make sense of ...

Your C.Orgs can see an APC skid into position in the center of the street. A massive coyote steps out and begins to chant, holding his hands as if he is plucking invisible strings.

A deep, droning and wordless song vibrates through the chests of your C.Orgs ...

You recall that the coyotes can allegedly reflect damage back at the attackers.

Several foxes pour out as well, one manning the LMG in the roof-mounted turret of the vehicle.

Several foxes begin to emerge from the houses.

Several civilians panic and begin to run in random directions.

Reinforcements will continue to arrive. You must secure the VIP and evac to the portal.

Don't worry squad, our skills are as sharp as they were a few seconds ago, I'm sure. There's no particular reason to mention this.
Kome has a point, actually. There's no easy cover to move up to. if Windscale could carry Danovin up to give us rocket launcher overwatch... be careful though, you don't want the damage of a rocket blast reflected at you all at once! Unless exploding would negate his ability to use that magic. Windscale could drop down and ice the guy in the alley afterward, securing our next foothold.
Qayree, Kay: Priority targets are the APC gunner and the enemy directly across the street. Full barrages.

Aw butts, damage reflection is up already. I guess we can't attack the Coyote this round. ...actually, that ability would be pretty bad if it only affected the caster. I'm betting the reflection affects nearby enemy units as well, which would mean we couldn't safely attack the APC. The effect said our entire team feels it, so it probably reflects the damage onto all our units. It would NORMALLY be a great idea to shoot a rocket at the APC but alas.

You know what, fuck shooting at all. I have a plan. Everyone grab onto Windscale. Windscale will climb up the warehouse this turn; our eventual goal is to move onto the top of the VIP's house, peek through the windows, and blast a hole through the roof in a safe spot so that we can avoid the street altogether. I'm sure Windscale will take some fire while peeking through the windows but we've got a medkit to recover that damage.
I'm guessing that our C.orgs will not be able to take actions as freely while hitching a ride so we probably can't have C.Orgs firing twice a turn while Windscale moves them around acting as cover for them... that would be so awesome though.

Kayree is unbothered.
Qay is moist, in her own lane. Kayree's presence prevents her from being shaken.
Windscale couldn't possibly care less in any possible world.
Danovan is too distracted to notice.

The new closest fox runs to the corner of the warehouse and goes on the lookout.

The turret gunner fires! She misses Qay and Kayree! Qay and Kayree take a penalty to Aim from the burst fire!

The fox behind the hood of the APC goes on the lookout.

Three foxes deploy from the APC. Two hunker down and one goes on the lookout toward the roof of the warehouse.

They mutter and mumble to one another in their bizarre fox language.

Kayree, keep up the burst fire on the turret gunner, volume of fire is the priority. Qay, prepare to snipe the coyote if Windscale doesn’t kill him, we’ll try to take him out before Danovan turns the rocket launcher on the APC. This might sting, sorry.
Windscale, scale the building with catlike tread and rad-breath the coyote. This might sting.
Danovan, clean up the clown car once the coyote is down. If you need to steady yourself first, just hunker down.

>Windscale loudly declares his actions
We need to discuss that later.

I don't like how the Coyote seems to be charging up something throughout his songs. We should stop him before he induces instant death. Even if the backlash injures our C.Org, fighting the APC, the support fire, and the coyote head-on would risk far more.

Windscale, finish climbing, take the brunt of the damage. If you can, hit the coyote and his kin with a nuclear blast. If not, drop Donovan off and continue moving until you drop down and land on those two foxes in the alley.
Danovin, fire a rocket launcher at the APC. Use your remaining action to retreat from the ledge so nobody can hit you.
Qay and Kayree, if Windscale manages to kill the enemies behind the alley, double-time it there.
Otherwise,
Qay, sniper shot at the APC or coyote if they're still alive, lookout if they're dead.
Kayree, hunker down and lookout.
>>
No. 1106149 ID: 273c18

Kayree: Hunker Down. Then Lookout towards the south reinforcements.

Danovan: Aim and fire on the APC.
Qay: reload and Lookout towards the south where reinforcements are coming.

Shooting the singing coyote appears to be a priority. Can someone hit him without exposing too much?
>>
No. 1106285 ID: 273c18

So, the song keeps going even when the Coyote acts, so it's got a duration...
Man I can think of so many ways for this damage reflection to work. If it triggers per-hit then we don't want to use small arms fire and a rocket or breath weapon would be ideal. If it triggers instantly, as a percentage of damage, then there's no way to reduce it so we'd have to stop the song before attacking. If it's like a shield that absorbs damage and has to be activated to send the damage back at us then attacking only a couple of times to provoke the retaliation would be optimal, or killing the Coyote in one turn before it can retaliate.
I guess the breath attack covers every possibility except the instant percentage reflection, in which case it might kill our entire team.

I think the safest thing we can do is have Kayree fire a single shot at the Coyote to test what it does, and have the rest of the team act accordingly. If it instantly reflects the damage onto the entire team then we do not want to use a rocket or breath attack on the coyote! If it reflects towards the unit that dealt the damage then breath attack might actually be fine since the song affects our C.Orgs, not our dragon unit. Unless that's a universal term in this case? If Windscale is affected... well, it depends on if the reflection is the same "attack"; isn't Windscale immune to his own breath? Danovin would want to get clear before the attack in that case, as not to get plastered by the reflected breath cone.

So, modifying my orders:
Kayree: Fire a burst at the Coyote. Then Lookout towards the south reinforcements.
If the attack doesn't immediately provoke a retaliation then a breath attack is safe. If it's instant retaliation then we should not use breath on the Coyote unless Windscale is unaffected by the song. If the burst interrupts the coyote due to its suppression affect then that's great too and we can use breath.
If breath is safe:
Windscale, climb up so you have an angle on the APC group, then breath attack all of them. Priority on the Coyote.
Danovan: get off of Windscale if you can do it on your own, and move along the roof towards the VIP house.
Qay: reload and Lookout towards the south where reinforcements are coming.

if breath is NOT safe:
Windscale, climb up and put Danovan down at the edge of the roof so he's got a good angle on the APC.
Danovan: Aim and fire on the APC, trying not to hit the Coyote.
Qay: reload and Lookout towards the south where reinforcements are coming.

You aren't sure precisely how the damage reflection on the coyote works. You need more information.

Kayree's Aim and movement are further lowered by the cold weather!

She takes a shot at the coyote and hits!

A bullet wound blossoms on Kayree's chest precisely where her bullet should have struck the coyote! The coyote is unaffected.

Kayree goes on the lookout toward the south.

"What the hell?" Kayree grunts in pain.

Windscale continues his climb, depositing Danovan on the roof.

The fox on the lookout fires and misses!

"I DO NOT FEAR THE ABILITIES OF THESE LESSER CREATURES! BE REDUCED TO ASH BY ATOMIC FIRE!" Windscale declaims. He simply does not care if he will be affected or not.

Windscale breathes out a searing beam of Atomic Fire! The foxes near the APC are reduced to ash instantly!

Windscale resists the effects of his own breath, but horrible burns nonetheless blossom across his body! Windscale is immune to the poison effect of his own breath!

No wounds appear on the coyote's body, but he is poisoned by radiation! He takes a penalty to Calm and Aim and will take (unreflected) damage every turn! The coyote is unshaken by Windscale's attack.

The remaining foxes are unshaken as their allies are deleted from existence.

"PATHETIC!" Windscale laughs.

Danovan is temporarily warmed by Windscale's atomic fire.

Danovan uses an action hanging on to Windscale as he is moved. Once he is placed on the roof, he fires a rocket at the APC! He misses! The rocket deviates but still strikes the interior of the APC! The APC erupts in a massive ball of flame! All of the remaining foxes are consumed in a roiling ball of fire and smoke!

Danovan needs to reload.

Danovan can reach the roof of the next building if he moves and jumps next turn with his Agility Frame.

"Welp... " Danovan says.

Qay aims and goes on the lookout for reinforcements from the south.

"I can't tell if this is exciting or terrifying," she says.

>Coyote reflects ALL direct damage
This guy is OP.

Danovin didn't get injured by any reflect damage even though he fired a rocket launcher. The APC's explosion, while caused by Danovin, was treated as a separate entity.

Windscale's hurt, but not too badly. More importantly, we just killed the meat grinder, which means Windscale can easily tank the remaining Foxes. Might need to use the third atomic breath on heavy reinforcements. (We'll put him into reserve in part 3)

Windscale, pounce towards the Coyote. DO NOT CRUSH HIM OR YOU DIE. Grab the Coyote, keep him restrained. Try to use him as a meatshield; should reflect the coyote's damage towards the fascists.

Danovan: blast that APC! You're extracting our VIP next round. Go go go!
Windscale: There's a line of hostiles in the buildings next to you. Rad breath the stoop soldiers. (And incidentally warm up Kayree and Qay.)
Qay, I'm guessing there's no LOS on the far whisper woman? Focus on the hostiles across the street then.
Kayree, fire a warning shot at the approaching civilians. Take a shot at the foxes across the street too.

Seems like Windscale is sufficient cover against the civvie-splosions... at least at that distance.
Kayree: use medkit on Windscale, then burst fire at those two foxes across the road to suppress them. Maybe the civvie in the way will decide to get out of the way as well.
Qay shoot the easiest fox to kill.
Danovan: Go grab the VIP, and make sure he can't get shot at.
Windscale: breathe on the new APC. Can you knock a hole in the warehouse to make a new entrance? Don't do it just yet. Instead, Lookout and kill any civvie that gets within range of your claws.

Danovan: Take out the apc gunner
Windscale: Fire down the line of buildings to keep the soldiers inside
Kayree and Qay: hunker down in the alley and stay on guard

Uh, if votes are swinging towards Danovan blowing up the second APC, let's not forget that Aiming the rocket launcher is a good idea if the unit has an aim penalty... which he does.

Danovan: Aim rocket launcher, fire at APC.
Windscale: If Danovan misses, fire one last breath attack at the APC. If not, use melee attacks on the first fox if you can and definitely use them to eviscerate the second fox. Either way, move towards the window so our VIP can jump on your back and then scream like a little girl for the rest of the trip. Do not drop him, we need him intact if Zarah is going to do her thing with him.
Kayree: Move to the car. If the nearby fox is still alive, waste him. If not, hunker down and prepare to hotwire the car.
Qay: Shoot the angriest motherkiller on the enemy's side, other than the Coyote.

Oh and for our part, we should try to signal the VIP and ask if that Coyote knows death spells. I don't want to put Windscale straight into a meat grinder but it may be necessary to waste turns on this [censored] if he's about to TPK the whole party with a death spell.

I kinda want to save a breath attack for the run to extraction, but needs must. Terrorscale blast that APC and warm Kayree with your healthy radiation glow. I hope it gets through the APC's shell.

Kayree, heal Terrorscale. And use that natural leadership aura to get those civilians moving away instead of randomly.

Quay, Whisperwoman is the priority target if you can get a shot, but I genuinely cannot tell where she is. so uh. if that's not likely, the closest fox is fine too.

Donavan, extract the VIP. Rockets are nice, but we gotta move. They have more reinforcements than we have rounds.

Alternate plan for science: Terrorscale go throw that closest fox at the coyote.

Rocket for the APC (I dont trust getting the VIP off the roof.)

Kayree heal Terrorscale, I know you like helping people.

Qay aim and overwatch

We're right next to the warehouse. We could save one rocket to blow a hole in the back wall near the portal in order to extract extremely quickly.
