ANON44 HAS REVEALED THAT JUNE QUEST TAKES PLACE INSIDE A GIANT SHEEP. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? Also, wheelbot general.
New world, new gobbos, new thread. Lead the goblin horde in subjugating the entire plane to the demon lord's will, or faffing about and doing nothing important. Whichever.
Okay, so at this point, I feel like the stuff I drew might actually be significant enough to warrant discussion. But still not nearly important enough for each to have its own thread, this board is crowded enough as it is. So have another all-inclusive, author-based discussion thread. Current topic: whatever I updated last.
If this quest ever gets complex to need a discussion thread, here we are.
Feel free to discuss things that need discussing. I suppose I can answer questions here as well.
It's a little late, but here's the Gobbo Quest discussion thread, if anyone cares to so discuss.
The way I see it, if wrangling with that animation did not make me ragequit, then I'll be sticking with the quest for the time being. So, discussion thread! Questions, feedback, non-suggestion stuff, etc.
So it turns out Soul Calibur 5 will again have a singular 'Guest' character, like they did in... uh, pretty much every one since SC2. Doesn't seem relevant, but I'm asking all you authors out there - what if Namco asked you about your character? What weapon would they use, what style, what would their costumes be? I'm curious. :3c
WELL IT SURE HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I UPDATED SOMETHING. So here you go, things I'll update. Go ahead and rate 'em. NOTABLE QUESTS: *Prototype *Rat Quest *Black Company *Grayscale
I am thinking of running a few quests, I am not sure is we can spare the attention for yet another quest, or if I will truly have the time or energy to run said quest. But the theme I plan to elaborate and work on is the progression of history, the Mythos, and conspiratorial forces playing their secret games, just beyond the veil of public perception. I expect to run through a few characters, but I do have some background, and character interrelationships already planned out. However, lacking a stylus as of now, I would be forced to update slowly. My inspirations for this are games such as Eternal Darkness (including of course the Cthuhlu and Hyborian Mythos), RPG.net's Project: Long Stair, a Canticle for Leibowitz, and various modern mythologies. I present to you the First Hand of Pawns to play. Some are fated for Greatness, some for Obscurity. On which would you cast your eye first? To which would you soonest whisper glory in their ear. If you so desire I can offer more information on popular choices to aid this decision in the form of -Secure Redacted Files- but these may take a short while to bring together.
Title: One X 4k Genre: Harem, action, drama, comedy, Sci-fi, war Description: The year is 3XXX, Governments are more corrupt and deplorable than ever! [insert player name here] a waste of a man, wins a lottery! What does he do with it why purchase a grown private army! Four thousand female clones! And a 8Blackball PDA. What does he do with this army? Why take over the world! Starting with the European Federation! The romance of a man and his army begins! Basically a combo of battle, slice of life, harem and lots of gags . Que hijinks with female clones gaining a sense of identity through [player character's] actions. Hilarious with hidden sobriety, sombre themes being the horrors of war, the failings of government and the identity of self! Basically, you are the 8blackball PDA, a technological font of information, Pocket sized too! How does it work? well back in 20XX a large amount of the human population went into cryogenic storage, the people of the future being unable to revive you all, decided to make a quick buck selling advice giving devices! So you were all hooked up as a supercomputer. An extremely dysfunctional supercomputer with massive identity issues! Most of the 8blackball PDAs were destroyed and as for your physical bodies, well through a combination of war, idiocy and bureaucratic nonsense, they are somewhere deep underground... In the Pacific. You'll get to choose [player character's] country of origin The structure of the clone army (Including names of positions) The uniforms And the variations(Clones may have skin tones, hair colours and size altered. The base is an average athletic woman with brown hair, eyes and tanned skin, body age: 22) This aids in distinguishing ranks and positions. If there is enough interest in this idea, I shall run it aswell as my current Quest: Chorus of Whispers.
An area to discuss/banter/complain/and do general things related to Golem Dreamer Quest
Since the stuff in the Quest thread got way out of hand, I figured we could move some of the bickering over here. There will be times when Caley will think about morality inside the quest and you will notice when she does. But outside of that, please only give her direct suggestions for actions or questions you need answered in context. See it like... this is asubconscious part of Caley's mind, where the voices in her head may commune. I'll pop in here when I can and give information Caley knows anyway.
So, uh, yeah. Hey there, everyone. I had a random idea for a Quest and such. It's. . .sort of meta. Think A Space Odyssey: 2001, but with a twist. AIs have grown to replace humans in most aspects, and they realize that humans are useful to them, as most AIs are fuckass big and can't really move around a whole lot, plus they need repairs, etc. So. . .the Questers are the posters. As in, you. The ones replying to the thread. The objective: Get to mineral rich planet Kruft and extract as much minerals as possible for AIs back on Earth. You are being commanded by an on-board AI. One of the main problems with this quest is. . .I can't draw. Would detailed explanations be sufficient, or is being a drawfag needed? So, ah, yes. Ideas, feedback, etc.
I was told to make one of these...for all your discussion needs I guess...
So as some folks likely noticed, brainstorming for plot ideas happened in Theta's thread, and then it turned out he didn't want such a thing in the first place. The ideas that sprung up are too great to waste though, so I reckon we should run with them in their own quest. If someone who has run quests that didn't fail almost immediately would like to run this, that would be splendid. Otherwise, I'll do it once I'm done with my finals. In the meanwhile, let's continue with the brainstorming! Thus far, the ideas: The game starts with the protagonist having been turned into a dragon by lusting for the horde of a dragon who no longer lives. Dark Paladins served the old dragon, and soon return, seeing the protagonist as his reincarnation. They (with or without the consent of the protagonist, to be determined depending on how it's played, I guess) take the protagonist's wife from his primitive village and turn her into a sacrificial vampire. She fills up with the blood of mortals, and the dragon may drink blood from her to empower himself in the same dark magics that his paladins use. That's as far post-starting as we've got in terms of plot, which is probably enough. Now we can strike backwards in time, discussing how things came to pass as they did, and we can cast our view wider, inventing a setting beyond the little implied by what we've got so far.
Please to be keeping all idle discussion about the quest ABERRATION in here.
Thigh appreciation time.
While it's not very long yet, I'm starting this in advance in case someone wants to discuss things, etcetera. So, discuss. If there's something discussion-worthy.
A funderful, quasi-IC/quasi-OOC place to discuss the exact nature how America is going to save the entire Earth. And for me to expunge ideas, take complains and for hot senator-on-senator action.
After the disaster the unofficial thread came to be, some sane people recommended me to do an official discussion thread. Discuss The Executioner here. If there is any question not involving spoilers, I will try to respond them. Criticism is welcomed.
I know there's not much to discuss so far but here's a discussion thread! So feel free to ask me questions about the story and stuff but I won't say anything that would spoil it!
Okay so here's the deal. I've taken to trying to run in sessions generally, but I don't have a schedule that is steady enough to always know when those sessions will be. I sometimes announce things in IRC, but that doesn't mean that people are there. So I figure that when I'm going to run a session for one of my quests, I'll post about it here. People can also chime in with which of my assorted quests they would like to see updated next, and so on and so forth. Also I guess discuss things if anything interesting manages to ever actually happen in one of my threads (as if!). Deep for the OP because it's my first quest. Also I'm planning to try to update something this afternoon, but am not sure what I should do yet. So I guess that makes this the first 'what should I update next' poll as well. Huzzah.
Discuss here. But only if you do it in a cool noir sort of way, kittycat.
Given my tendency to start new quests completely on a whim, a discussion thread for each quest is a terrible, terrible idea. Therefore forthwith this thread is provided to talk about those quests that don't have a discussion thread already (or do!) and also so I have a place to dump random favicons in the near future. If you don't know which quests I mean, here is the list (circa August 2010): - Resonance - Defective - Beneath a Red Sky - Infiltration Other quest discussion threads: >>322914 Resonance discussion thread >>326221 Defective discussion thread
I'm going to give a bit of spare information here, while I'm starting this thread. Hopefully without revealing too much. :) Any information about how John's ghost powers and past life can be found in the quest, by asking certain people or by asking John himself. If you have any queries for John not directly relevant to the current action, ask them here. Here's a little run down of ghost powers. Some things you will have to figure out yourselves, this is just enough information to get started. -You must remain near your body. -You can attempt to possess just about anyone else. People with extremely strong wills tend to be more difficult and therefore take longer to get control. People of "impure" soul are difficult to maintain and uncomfortable to possess. Effects on the possessee have yet to be seen... -Rarely you will come across people who you have a strong affinity with, called chosen. They will be able to sense or see you. If you are able to create a bond with these people, you will be able to communicate with them. The bonding process, at the moment, will remain mostly a mystery. There are massive benefits for both John and the chosen. John will be meeting his first chosen pretty soon... But who will it be? I will let you guys decide. The Messenger. The Traveler. The Cur. The Heiress. The Warden. The Highblood. The Investigator. The Alchemist. The Spy. The Diplomat. The Outlaw. The Aristocrat. That's all the info you get.
PICTURE UNRELATED: http://tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/273047.html I created that thread. Ask me anything.
a friend of mine wanted to ask some questions about BlakeQuest on this board I'm not very familiar with this board can anyone explain it? also QwernQuest was to small for a Discussions thread so feel free to post in this one
Hey there, folks. So I'm a total newb around here. I was newly liked here to check out a quest which pleased me greatly. However, I finished that now and I'd like to check out a few others. I've had a look around, read Dungeon Game: The Quest for example, but I've always such a hard time choosing :S Therefore, can you recommend any classics that I just *have* to check out? I'd be much obliged :)
I've noticed that everyone who uses these little talking heads to update has been giving them backgrounds. I'm curious, do you guys not know that transparency is available, or do you just love squares that much?
Defend yourselves !
Happy Get-Drunk-Off-Of-Green-Beer Day, everyone! Make sure you wear something green! Unless you're a Scellor. Then you can just walk around naked.
New thread, the posts of last thread exceeded 1 kilopost. Here be last thread: >>327658
Trust me, you'll need it... That is... If you want to live. [Override: Command Control//] [cout:This is an author note, you won't see many of these//]
Quest Authors: What quest do you run, or have run? What Quests do you read actively? (Watch for updates, open thread, suggest often) What quests do you read passively? (Read updates from the frontpage, occaisionally suggest) What quests do you not read? What quests do you hide? Readers: What quests do you dislike? What quests have you saged? Has any quest ever evoked an actual emotional response from you? If so, which, and when (remember spoilers) ? Do you have a character you really like? Dislike? I'm curious.
Authors, what method do you use to determine the post you respond to? The best idea, democracy, what?
Considering that is my first named post I think an introduction is in order. Hi, I´m new. Now with that out of the way, I have a problem. And you CAN help me. See, I found this board some time ago and had much fun reading the quests and even submitted some suggestions once or twice. I have some experiance as a GM, and so I thought about making a quest. The problem is, I actually have too many ideas and knowing me, trying to struggle with multiple quest at the same time would make me lose interest with them and stop doing it. And here´s how you can help me. I´ll write out the basic ideas of my quests and you´ll decide which one I shall make. But before so, couple of warnings. First, no matter which I do, all will be text-based, considering I don´t wanna any lawsuits concerning causing blindness. Second, please forgive any percieved lack of originality. So then, on with the ideas. In the same order I thought them up., together with what I think will be major foci for the resulting quests. 1. A practitioner of the dark arts and how he survives in a world where everyone will try to burn him. Or worse. Focus Character Interactions and Survival 2. Reality switching arcane highlander action. Focus Battle and Exploration. 3. Angels and Demons, ones rise to power. Focus Intrigue and Character interactions. 4. Heavily inspired by the game Overlord, become the dark ruler of the world. Focus Battles and the building of the Empire. So these are the ones I kinda have in my mind. Should you have additional questions, just ask.
Hi. I'm Nahkh. I've been a regular on this website for quite a while now. A year and a half, in fact. I've worked on quite a lot of quests during my stay here, some have been successful, some less so. I've recently had a bit of an absence from the site, and have come back to find a whole bunch of new people mingling among the more venerable members. So I thought to myself, gosh I'd like to get to know all these new people. So have a seat, let's talk. Normally, I'd just have these kinds of discussions over IRC, but I know a lot of people don't use things like that, and I know I'm occasionally hard to reach by IRC. I'm hoping this could be a two-way conversation between you folks and myself, with you telling me a little bit about yourselves, what you like in quests, how you got here and so on, and me answering any questions you might have, about me, my quests or questing in general. I'm more than happy to shoot the bull on any topic you want. Occasionally I might have something important to say, but I expect that not to happen very often. Another useful little feature about having a thread like this is that if I suddenly stop updating for some reason, you have a way of yelling at me for it. Getting called a faggot for not updating on time actually cheers me up, and makes me much more likely to update. So yes, you're welcome to hang out here in my living room. Just, uh, don't mind the cat. -Nahkh

It feels like you want to tell me a serious story, but you're not really trying. The story is generic and inconsistent - if she's such a badass that she can kill anyone, which from the way it's being presented (Isuzu/Michelle/WEEABOO FANCY strikes "badass" poses while elaborating on her desire for revenge) seems to be the case, then why is she such a pushover for bullies in the first place? Since there's no mention that the bullies are anything but heartless monsters, I presume I'm supposed to see WEEABOO FANCY as being in the right in her lust for their blood, but if she's really been playing sleeping wussy hidden dragon the whole time then it's more of a cruel plot on her part, which for me pulls the moral stepping stool out from under her feet. Also the art is horrible, try to learn how to draw each character in more than a grand total of 3 positions for your entire chapter, kthx
This probably won't need a discussion thread...But...It's always good to be prepared, right?
LISTEN UP MOTHERFUCKERS, IT'S "MRQ -BEAT-FUCKING-CANCER-WEEK" THAT INCLUDES SUNDAY, MRQ'S PERSONAL FUCKING BIRTHDAY. DRAW SOME FANART, DRINK SOME BEER. ACTUALLY, DO BOTH, A LOT. IT'S TIME TO PARTY DOWN AND GET DRUNK ERRYDAY.
In case the plot actually gets complex enough to need discussing or a place to post about shoes in relation to heads so it's not in the main thread.
(By which I mean weekend.) ><LawyerDog> Hats on crotches day ><LionsPhD> Hat day. Draw your character wearing nothing but a sweet hat. ><LawyerDog> fund it ><LionsPhD> Some characters probably even have the bullishness to wear the hats on their heads. ><TestPattern> fund it Funded. With a OP so gaudy that you cannot fail to be shamefully reminded of your lack of hat-based character art every time you visit /questdis/.
Trottan. Winkan. Flyan. Cutie markan. Discuss all your pony and pony accessory related needs here. Pic related.
AAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL RIGHTY.... welp, this is to discuss the epic survival quest. if your wondering why it's called meat talk, the main character kinda has cravings for meaty type objects to eat... anywho, lets discuss G.Coal then. and the environment he is in, right?
This is my dumping ground and idea spawn for a project I am working on: turning tgchan into a bunch of custom Magic the Gathering cards. Enough to play with. And have varying decks. PM me at Squeegy @ irc.rizon.net if you want to be in on this or have ideas for cards. PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR OWN CARDS HERE.
While there may not be much discussion going on in the quest itself I hope to use this thread to focus more on the back story of the land and the characters that reside within it. This quest is unlike The Game in that The Game took place in one set location with only a few set characters while in Shoujen there are whole continents to explore. I also decided to leave my escape from the room settings and focus more on a fantasy RPG like game with magic and the like. Now another thing this game has is conflicting goals. On one hand you have our main hero Cecil(ia) who is on a journey to not only defeat the Dark Mana Wizard Dart but to also regain his lost manhood and escape the curse placed on him. while on the other hand we have Alexis who only wants for Cecil to stay as a cute girl. I think it will be interesting to see whose goals actually get accomplished. If there is anything you want to know about the world this quest is set in or anything about the characters post it here. You may also ask them questions here.
I guess this is a better idea than shitting up the main quest thread. To answer questions: Zorsuz is a stereotypical "Warlock." He lives in a cold stone tower and spends most of his time reading tomes or doing magical experiments. When someone wants to become an Adept of his, what he takes seems engineered to cause strife and trouble. Even his "boons" tend to blow up in people's faces/not come out like things expect. There are 5 major species on the planet, not counting wizard's constructs they are: Ophians: Spikesby has heard that they were originally constructs, but somehow freed themselves. Ravians: A very populous species, they tend to look down on other species and have as little to do with wizards and magic as possible. Gour: Have an affinity for both magic and technology, and tend to be traders, merchants and diplomats. Blockheads: This profligate race of morons spread like a plague. They are extremely stupid. Golden: The Golden almost went extinct during the wizard's war, and now very few exist. They are all Adepts, and can magically fuse separate creatures together to make horrible, mute monstrosities that they can command called Halflings. People pretty much kill them if they think they can get away with it. There are also a lot of magical creatures everywhere. Magical creatures are made by the wizards, and can't reproduce on their own. One particular wizard designed each species of magical creature.
Alright, so /tg/ has Zerg Quest on Wednesdays. General discussion on how to defeat KINGSTOOOON!!!! and other villains/allies/Kerrigan.
>>/quest/276875 Meta goes here. In character stuff and discussion on what to do goes there. If everybody thinks that is a dumb division I am glad to change it; I did lurkb4post, but it's possible I am fucking up. Meta: I counted the vote after I started drawing the update, and allowed it to break ties (and replace random rolls) for anything I hadn't drawn yet. This makes you royal purple-wearing black bob-having ribbon-incorporating Princess Clarissa von Eupersberg. I'm making you set up and specify your actions in detail, but I expect to have a lot of fast-forwarding between matters that require your attention once you have some plans in motion. That covers everything I want to say, so have at it. Ask me questions, discuss, and let me know what I am fucking up.
It seems a bit early to be tossing up this Discussion thread, but I have a question. Do you guys want fast updates, or do you want me to take the time to do full color?
What the title says. Find an image along these lines which you'd think the denizens of Quest would find entertaining? Post it here and let others have their way with it. No seriousness, just short-lived image edits and the like for entertaining ones self on an otherwise boring day.
Discussion for Princess Quest, so you can plot PRINCESS BEAM without Maria flipping out and firing her not-a-laser. I'll also be posting art! (P.S. You might want to try rereading the quest occasionally. It already explains a lot of things, like why there was a bomb.)
As befits a community centered around a singular activity (quests), it behooves us to be critical and constructive in our considerations of said materials. Therefore, I'm going to put forth a system for us to review quests, though whether you use it is entirely up to you. Feel free to just textwall without the numbers, or to go by letter grades, or whatever. About the only thing that I won't tolerate is "HUUR X SUX" or similar. Please, please, please strive to be as constructive as possible! If you're going to point out flaws, go right on ahead, but make sure you also add in ways to improve! Otherwise, this is pointless shit flinging, and no one likes that except monkeys. And Trolls. The ratings go through several criteria. These rankings are scored 1-10, 1 being altogther absent or outright terrible, and ten being I WAS BORN TO READ/SEE THIS. If it is a dedicated text quest, feel free to ignore the Art section and instead treat Storytelling as a 1-20 scale. Copypasta form at the end of this. Art: The pictures that generally accompany each update. Some people have a very unique style or approach, so try not to take a clinical, college level approach with artistic critique, instead, go by what a quest needs: Can you tell people apart? Can you tell they are people? Can you recognize surroundings? Can you see things the author intends you to? Is it clear? However, to reach the 10 point, I am talking Journey-level art. Characterization: Characterization means how well thought out, portrayed, unique, and interesting the characters are. An example of a 10 character would be Penji(Tozol), or Coraline (Apocalyption). Main characters should be the ones you focus on. Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
You have an hour before the year changes, EST. (you get more if you live on the west coast) Draw something before it's 2011!
Good evening, Quest.lv/tgchan. I'm a newcomer to this very fine community who has, recently, been overcome with the desire to contribute to its wonderful collection of quest threads. However, I am not entirely sure about the appropriateness of my chosen subject— so, rather than risk the ire of this community, I decided it would be in my best interests to inquire as to whether quests of a particular nature would be considered acceptable here. Simply put, I wish to write a Quest of a sexual nature. Not pure fapfic, of course, but one in which sexual encounters are not only par for the course, but an integral part of the storyline. 'Porn with plot,' if you will. Is this acceptable, or would it violate a rule or community standard that I am not aware of? It would not (for better or for worse) involve any NSFW images, as I must admit I am entirely incapable of drawing anything of value. Simply explicit text. If this receives a positive response, than perhaps you will see a new quest thread popping up in the next week or so. If not, then, well, you won't.
Since the last thread is HUGE, we need a new one! Old one is here >>319591
OAK: Hello everyone, and welcome to the wonderful world of tgchan! Here, we have a wide variety of original characters, as well as many interesting settings and worlds! Of course, we won't be using any of those last ones. This thread is for the discussion and education about these magnificent creations and their place in the world of POKEMON!
I feel the need to have one of these myself. Not really because everyone else does Well okay that might factor into it a bit but because I kinda need feedback on my quests in general. It feels somewhat as if I am a small sapling in a forest full of great old oaks, and I cannot grow for all the talent that surrounds me! Not that I dislike any of our big quest rockstars, or anything, it's not their fault. Oh, and discuss stuff about my quests here too, I guess. So... - Links - Bardic - G A C vs R A M - Amalgam - Hatquest and its sequels - Fury Rising And stuff. Feel free to ask questions, too, if anything is bothering you.
This is my first Quest, and I guess it's a bit ambitious. Synop- You are an emergency AI known as the Tactical Guidance Computer for Human Activity and Necessitation. More Data from CPU will be stored for interplatform discussion as need be... Other than that, begin.
In an attempt to drum up some recognition for my game, and post for possible discussion later, I'm creating this thread. I realize pure text based games aren't very popular, but if I DID draw something, you couldn't tell shit from shinola in my resulting pic. And if you can't find Mansionquest, just look for the big fucking revolver in /quest/. Thank you, and that is all.
For everything that isn't story related. Discussion, rolls, system crap.
A note to anyone who gives a damn bout my miserable excuse for a quest. Don't rely on doing whatever happened last time, as I WILL railroad you off repeating that track.
I couldn't find any discussion about Glukmil, so here's some discussion. I've really enjoyed it. It's so very authentically Dwarfy (dwarf fortress dwarfy), from the first dead dwarf in the submerged tunnel (he sealed himself in by building the bars, and then breached the river, which is the cheap and dirty solution to building an enclosed well), to the pictures of things all over the walls (I laughed my ass at the engraving of an undead elephant stomping a dwarf), to the lever that causes the platform to collapse, it's all straight up dwarf fortress. Glukmil is a great protagonist. It's like we are guiding a six year old through this (which isn't terribly unlikely given kobold lifespans). He's just the right amount of cute to make you want to keep him safe, and just the right amount of vulnerable to make you not want him to do anything dangerous. Thanks to the author, not just for running the game, but sticking with it. Many of the quests I've enjoyed have just petered out, but this one has gone the distance.
I'll never steal somebody else's discussion thread ever again! Tiny image included. Some elements of this image are classified.
Liberi Quest discussion for all your questions, concerns, comments and derogatory statements. Yeah, really just putting this here as a contingency.
Second Annual day of Ass Appreciation.
I thought I'd ask this after my third out of four quest attempts ended in no one giving a fuck. I've been told my quests are pretentious or hard to follow or plain uninteresting. what hooks a reader and gets them interested?
Meh, I figured I should make myself a discussion thread in case anyone wishes to discuss Strata. I'll also dump some of my bigger pixelart projects in here, sometimes. I'll start with the three protagonists' full portraits, so you guys can see what you missed in the first character select screen.
Let’s see how this works. You are an 18 year old girl who just graduated High school and is trying to get into college when you’re accosted by a strange figure. You live with your parents in St Lucian Canada a City of 300,000. Inventory: Cell phone with the number for ‘Calvin de bois’ Resources : One Blood point. (May be spent to temporally increase physical Strength for a limited time or to heal damage taken)
hey peoples of /quest/, i've been running a quest on /tg/ called loliquest (yes, its been difficult) and its actually been going semi well. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=LoliQuest being my first quest and all, i was wondering if you guys could throw some tips at me, maybe give it some reviews? i'd also like some plot theories and such. <3
For discussion and/or contribution on my latest quest, Bounty Quest. http://quest.lv/wiki/Bounty_Quest
I was gonna try and write up a long thing but it sounded stupid so I'll just put it bluntly. Hey, all you authors who are voicing concerns lately that /quest/ is too slow: If you're not yourself suggesting, you are pretty much part of the problem.

Some information about the setting. The Skyway is a tangible place, high above the earth, where Sol makes her endless journey, guarded by the four commanders of air. There are only four air-aligned people of your status (including yourself), and you're the only one who's been to ground level. Q: Do the ones of other status have blue hair?~ A:Water commanders have green hair, Earth has brown hair, and Fire has orange hair. Q:What is the hair color of the other people of the skyway? A:Sol's hair is radiant;the captain's hair varies by captain;and the Sylph's hair is the color of the wind.(Transparent unless they want to be seen. If they want to be seen, it's the color of whatever's nearest)
Because I feel it needs one and ha ha look at this guy doesn't really flow as a name.
This will be for vyt's art dumps and general discussions.
Discuss the brand new Hanz Quest. Pizza is provided. Current discussion: which minion do we get?
Since I made the quest, I guess I'll start the discussion thread. Feel free to discuss anything cactuar or other Final Fantasy-ripped-off monster related here.
Jehral, I...
So yeah. Comments, questions and criticisms are welcome. And before anyone asks, I most certainly did not retroactively kill off that bum because I forgot to make him wake up.
So I just had a crazy idea after reading Knight Blades and DiveQuest: What's /quest/'s thought on Love-Children? Let's get to the draw-faggotry and idiotic speculations of our favorite characters/couples/incestuous romances and see what comes out! (Picture totally unrelated, but oddly fitting?)
I guess I need a discussion thread to contain all the rage. Just remember to watch your step~
Right, I actually didn't have one. So yeah, not to clog up quest with technical details or game system, ask shit here.
Technically it's both Jiniki and Susan's journey, but I liked the thought of calling my quest "JJ". My job hunt takes priority, so this will not contain the behemoth mega-updates Tezakia Quest did, and the art will be much simpler and sketchier. I'll try to keep it going at a decent pace nonetheless and I hope you enjoy it!
A while back I had a pretty entertaining dream about Mushio and Ridder out for a night on the town, singing songs they had learned when they were younger as the stumbled down a cobblestone road. I've had a dream where Grampa Bones (Before he became Alexander the Heretic to the quest.)and I were making smalltalk. And just last night I dreamt I was playing videogames with Rynh in a modern setting.
Maybe I'm being too careful 'bout this, but still making this in case anyone is "interested but afraid of clogging up the thread". Also, feedback please. I'm a newfag and I need criticism.
So, the issue of reduced suggestions is a frequent component of both the IRC discussions as well as that one thread here on the boards. I am not complaining about lack of suggestions in my quest, even though I have noticed a continued downward trend in pretty much every single chapter. I made this thread to ask for critique concerning my quest, and for other people to ask for and give critique for their quests as well. It is obvious that I'm doing something wrong, and I want my quest to be entertaining for the players as well as for me. I really want to know what I am not doing right, because it is obvious I'm not doing something right. I'm most interested in critique concerning the way I run my quest and other technical issues, although I will gladly entertain stuff about the story as well. Just so you know: Most combat and some social interactions are resolved through dice rolls, modified by player suggestions versus the opponents' actions/dispositions. There are no fixed outcomes to any of the encounters. I think of at least three obvious outcomes, but these are in no way the only options and have been disregarded plenty of times so far. I plan out what the NPCs are going to do from the beginning, and then make them respond to the actions of the player. The encounters are preset in fixed locations, although I also keep track of the NPCs that are "on the move" and where they are at any given time. Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
Discuss the unfortunately titled "Beyond the Dome" here and how it isn't related to the Mad Max movie of roughly the same name.
Just because. Now discuss!
The year 3000 saw a final end to war as we know it. The peace came with the agreement to proxy one-on-one battles to settle major disputes. The settlement was known as the Treaty of Gears, a revolutionary new idea put forth by think tanks of all nations after years and years of thought. The Treaty did many things, but most importantly, it also gave birth to Gearheads, large robotic soldiers. These were the 'soldiers' in the one-on-one proxy battles, controlled by young and skilled Cogs from cockpits located on the edge of the field, enclosed safely behind thick armor while cameras showed them the intense battle. Armaments of all sorts were allowed, the Gearheads large enough to weild weaponry the size of small planes. A new league of entertainment was soon created, funded by the governments. The Gearhead International League of Battle, or GILB. GILB oversaw major battles, and helped to organize the battles that decided who would represent their contry on the 'battlefield'. The funding for GILB was from across the world, then distributed evenly among all the contries that had a stake. Funding for GILB also went into the production of more advanced facilities for the Gearheads and Cogs, like constructed arenas and special terrain events. Since the funding for GILB is distributed evenly, no one nation is less powerful than any of the others, and only the intellect of their Cogs seperates them from the rest of the world. There are four major 'leagues'. Generally a League shows where someone is from in the world, and they are made of the four major powers in the world. It is possible for nations within a League to do battle and skirmish, but unlikely. Eagle land: The continent of America. Mexico, South America, Canada, and the USA are included in this League. Western A: Africa, European nations, and the area west of Iran are part of the Western A League. Eastern A: China Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
This is for the discussion of Tinker Quest. http://quest.lv/wiki/Tinker_Quest
This was brought up in the Irc a little wile ago and I wanted to know what you guys thought about it. I got the idea from playing Katawa Shoujo. After playing through it I looked at their wiki adn it turns out the engine for making games like that is free over at http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/Home_Page . With it you could make a Dating SIM or a visual novel! That means we could make our own using our OCs! I want to know if anyone is interested in adding their own characters to this little project. I can code the thing but I need some characters to use, both male and female. Ideally there will be at least 11 possible character endings, I'm adding Sevi and Lina :3 So yeah if anyone's interested what I'd need is them in different poses with different expression, like the kind you see in any dating sim.
Wishlist tiem! What quests would you like to see brought back from the great beyond? Now is also a perfect time to chastise those spineless fagets who don't update their guests ever. Go.
Discussion thread! In gratitude for posts, I will attach a picture of the rat being cute to my responses.
This is the discussion thread for Cock-up Before Conspiracy. I'll also answer questions about GURPS here if you need clarification about it. I'll be posting character sheets here as well.
This is primarily for you all to tell me what I'm doing wrong, because I know I'm completely new at this, and probably fucking things up. Also one reply a day is kind of a red flag. No file because I can't art worth shit yet.
Hello, tgchan, look at your life, now look to mine, now back at yours, now back to mine. Sadly, it isn’t mine, but if you put on some funny glasses and conquered the world, it could smell like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're trapped in your ordinary life. I brought the world to it's knees. Anything is possible when you have a giant magic rock.
There isn't really much to discuss now in either quest, but hell. Here it is. Ask your questions, make your statements, start conjecturing, scorn use of the default RM2k3 tile sets, make fun of my younger brother's spelling... anything and everything you fine folks feel is necessary. I'll answer what I can about my quest and "Sir Aticus" will answer what he can about his quest. The original quest: http://quest.lv/kusaba/quest/res/221340.html My younger brother's quest--Greg's Revenge: Tangent 1 ~ http://quest.lv/kusaba/quest/res/222727.html My quest--Ultimate Ham Sandwich Quest: Tangent A ~ http://quest.lv/kusaba/quest/res/223356.html ...and yes, I did fuck up, press submit on what I thought was the Quest-Discussions page, thus putting the old quest back on top in Quest for no damn reason other than because I wasn't paying any fucking attention. I kinda want to delete it, but we need to keep it around for context. ><'
Since we don't have one yet. I enjoy feedback! Recently, there was discussion about the art style in NicQuest. Apparently the majority of you prefer the more stylized appearances (larger eyes, lack of nose) to the 'realistic' images used in some of the close-up shots. This has lead me to do some experimentation. Anyway, thoughts, feedback - love to hear what you guys think so far. Knowing how the quest is working out helps me make a better quest for you.
Chubby Bunny is a competitive game where you and the other players stuff your mouths with marshmallows, attempt to say "chubby bunny", and then continue to add marhsmallows until you can no longer say "chubby bunny". Whoever can do this with the most marshmallows is the winner.
I guess I can make this thread while I go in vacation off internet for a few days. That way all of those following on won't guess this quest as dead, and I'd have made this thread eventually anyway. Couple ideas if you need to think: Who is Hime Raine? What is Hime Raine? What is Fobia? Omega-guy was pretty strong in the other quests he appeared in; yet he was defeated so easily by the New Princess. Who is the Queen? Who is the Lord? If you're witty, you can probably find answers already. But the story's still messy as of now, so I'll give you a hint, or rather, a confirmation: Omega-guy was the same guy in all three quests. Not that he played a major part in this one, heh.
I don't know if we specifically need this or not, but here it is anyway. For all of your tolkavi-related discussion needs. Also, I'll go ahead and say that in the interest of things other than Ruz infodumping happening in the quest, any random questions about the setting you may have should be asked here if you don't mind. Art by Exuno. :B
Any questions/arguements/discussions about either quest, put 'em here. Also, I got a mod that can do facial expressions for ObliQuest now! :D
A place for discussion of/reaction to Update Quest, since with only updates allowed in the thread nothing can really take place there. Also a place for people to dump clipart for various characters to make things easier on those of us who want to update, but can't draw. Or other such shenanigans.
I know there isnt exactly a lot to discuss yet, but once we get this trainwreck moving a bit further im somewhat comfident there will be plenty of possible theories to discuss. At least, that was the case with the IRC version.
I wanted to look back on this experimental quest and reflect on a few motives behind it and the way people chose to interact with it. Chromhabere was drawn with the intent of being universal -- accessible to any language or culture pictographically by avoiding the usage of artistic memetic standards and any visual shorthand. I tried to avoid using any characters (?, !, etc), or any such standards that would not necessarily be universal. This made a lot of things difficult, but I think for the most part I stuck to my plan pretty well. The story is a simple one: Following some kind of incident at sea, a castaway washes up on an island inhabited by a small, low-tech tribe of peoples. I specifically threw in the protagonist's pocket watch to indicate that there was a 'civilized' world out there somewhere, and that we once belonged to it, to clear up the ambiguous interpretation as to whether this was set in a world where tribal societies were the only option. The quest itself, in short, revolved around the immediate reactions of the players to influence what kind of goal the protagonist would adopt. They could try to get back home and find a way off the island, or accept their new life and become part of the tribe. In the case of the latter, it was the spirit (not necessarily the letter) of the suggestions that shaped what kind of role was to be taken on. Since there was so much concern over the hunter's injuries, the protagonist was shaped as a doctor.
This is the discussion thread for Blood, Bood Quest, and any other monikers you would care to put on it. Please use it to keep track of any theories, as absurd and unrelated to the current story as you wish, and to-do lists for experiments and supplies, and anything else you could think of, of any relation to the story or world it takes place in. Also may be used for votes, if one is required for any reason.
Discussion of Shadow Quest goes here. Speculation appreciated. Participation needed. Fanart loved. (God knows mine is terrible.) Please feel free to tell me how I'm doing so far, what you'd like to see, and when/if I screw up. I've got a few things planned out, like the other participants of the War, the actual Rules of the War, and a possible ending. Of course, the best thing about quests is seeing how badly you guys can fuck up my plans. Just to be clear, I can't answer every question, but if I can't I'll tell you why. That being said, discuss away!
Hey Larro here. Just thought I'd post some info and answer some questions about Characters in The Game. No I won't reveal any information that Wan has yet to obtain herself..
This thread will be for discussion and questions, naturally. I'll address things here that would interrupt the narrative otherwise - it's likely aborted art and concept sketches will wind up here as well.
Alright, I've got to say one of my favorite quests to date has been Slime Quest, so I'm going to do my on take on such a thing if there is interest. Sadly, it would be a text quest only, as I'm not exactly a drawfag of any note.
It's coming. Soon. Yeah, I'm arting a quest again! Want to know what you guys will want out of it. Keep in mind that the picture is fairly evocative of my skill, so yeah. GIVE ME DELICIOUS IDEAS AND DESIRES
Following the glorious tradition of Ass Day, I declare this Chest Day. Chest Day is a very long day, lasting all weekend, starting right now.
Well guys, I finally got around to running a Quest... ...and it's on another forum. Discuss. Also, it contains all the proof you'll ever need that I cannot draw. http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=21658
Sup /tg/, I've decided I want to do an epic Quest. I was inspired by Weaver's goodies and the Barbed Wheel and all that. I have a few ideas, and I think I know what the quest will be about, to some degree. 1. Protagonist is nuts, and honestly, knows it. Possibly Deadpool Syndrome, ie ability to see the fourth wall. She has only recently developed schizophrenia, and no, john. you are the schizophrenia. Also, she has a COMPLETELY unstable temperament, to the point where I was considering calling the quest itself "Chaotic Neutral". 2. Protagonist is going to be female and of age because I know /quest/ likes to draw porn. 3. Eldritch abomination will be involved. 4. There will be a drug related to the eldritch abomination. I think the immense evil occult force will be something spider-based, and the drug will be DPH. This is because a) DPH is readily accessible everywhere but the former Soviet Union and Zambia, b) I used to run with a bit the wrong crowd, and every hallucination I've ever heard described (or had myself) with DPH involved spiders and, with larger doses, something the substance-abuser perceived as an enormous evil. The drug is manufactured by cultists from the solidified will of the demi-god, or something like that. That's all I've got so far though. Also, I am COMPLETELY new at this. I have tiny amounts of Paint skill and that's all. Suggestions, thoughts, tips, insults, derogatory comments about my mother? Picture related. It's what inspired me.
Alright, let's see how well this goes. What I'm hoping to do with this opening sequence at the mansion is not only establish the main characters and setting, but Agent Noe's attributes and backstory. How you guys end up handling the situation is what I'll be using to determine our skills and our relationship with the cast once the main quest starts.
Nice to see people discussing pros and cons of stuff. That'll be the main part of the quest. IMPORTANT: After the introduction is over, this textbased quest will update once a day in the evening (Greenwich time). So, no reason to lurk the thread, go and have fun somewhere else. One main obstacle will be to channel the amount of freedom. You can do with Gorvia whatever you like: democracy, dictatorship or whatever. Private economy or state-controlled. Military conquest or diplomacy. I will try to give reasonable reactions from the populations and your neighbours. Gorvia is the lovely red country in the south, by the way. Yes, you have an oversea territory. No, this is not the whole globe, but it's the important area for now. Keep in mind that territory does not equal power. Some of the smallest nations an still be powerhouses in terms of economy or military. :D Feel free to ask questions. In the quest, you would probably already know stuff about the country where you live (doh) and the others.
With the successful completion of Defective (for now), I am going to be taking a brief break from questing (just running quests, not the site as a whole or IRC channels) for the remainder of the month for the sake of my mental he- ahahaha who am I kidding. No, I need the time to work on a project with a deadline of August 1st. But enough about that. However, what exactly I work on when I return I leave in you, the voting public's hands. I have three options, and despite how my polls have gone before this time they are the only three options available. (I'm looking at you, mister "Through the Chaos 2". NOT NAMING ANY NAMES) Enough banter. Here's the options! Resonance: The Thousandfold (aka You Guys) has returned after an unknown time of slumber, to help the populace of Ter avoid a gruesome death at the hands of the determined, fearful Machine, or to avoid an eternity of slavery at the hands of the domineering Golden Empire. Warning: contains tacobirds. Defective: In an unknown complex on a world somewhere in the universe, two highly sophisticated composite artificial intelligences wage unending war, while their agents fight to survive. And always looking on are the strange, terrifyingly powerful creatures known to many only as the monitors. Four Days: Consider this the "mystery" option. Our protagonist has, for reasons completely unknown to them, managed to entrap themselves in a four day loop on an island in the middle of nowhere, populated by a variety of strange creatures. Isolated in space and time, can he figure out how to escape before the repetition drives him insane? Let democracy commence! See you back on /quest/ August 1st.
I said I'd put up one of these once the quest was over, so here it is. There's a tiny amount of not-very-good bonus content available as a reward for useful/interesting critique/questions.
I do not know where to put it, but I was curious to see if anyone would be interested in this. I am tentatively calling this "Viridack Shuffle." Included is a map of Argannis, the world of Vaars Rising, and Viridack Shuffle. Story to follow.
So that I can remember the different rolls and what effects them, I am making this thread. Catch Roll: 1d100 Base: 40+ is catch Rare Pokemon (eg. Dratini, Eevee): -10 to catch chance Legendary (eg. Moltres, Suicune): -15 to catch chance Godly Legendary (eg. Dialga, Palkia, Mewtwo): -20 to catch chance Arceus and Mew: -25 to catch chance Yellow Health Bar (below half): +10 to catch chance Red Health Bar (less than 20%, or around there): +15 to catch chance Paralysis: +5 to catch chance Poison: +10 to catch chance Burn: +10 to catch chance Sleep: +15 to catch chance Status Resist Roll: 1d20 Paralysis: 11+ is resist (12+ for Turn Taking each turn) Sleep: 11+ for resist (15+ for Awakening each turn) Poison: 12+ to resist Burn: 12+ to resist Confusion: 11+ to resist (10+ for No Self Damage each turn, 15+ to Snap Out of It each turn) If you so desire this thread can also be used to discuss the Quest, although tis main purpose is an easy place of reference for these rolls.
Discussion of Mana Ritual goes here. Discuss Characters, "plot", and setting here. You can also make your own self-style for ANY type of magic. Note that magic is weird and doesn't really follow any specific rules.
>second point: reader commands are great for the story's early climb, establishing some elements, making something out of nothing, etc. they are not good for wrapping things up. in the early going, there is a huge amount of granularity to the action. pick this object up. put it over there. walk through that door. and so on. you just can't finish a story with these micro actions though. at some point you have to start speeding up, and tying loose ends. reader commands don't do that though. they will always speak in the language of micro actions, because that is pretty much the only thing a mock-player can do. -Andrew Hussie Pic related. Discuss.
Okay, I've been looking around for a while now, so I just want to get a definitive answer... What the hell does a duran look like? Is it humanoid? Does it have weird tentacles stalks for eyes? I don't know! I can't find ANY information on the topic! DAMMIT!
Discussion thread.
So, before starting this light but spine heavy quest how much do you potential readers know about Starcraft?
We ask this kind of thing in the IRC pretty often, so I thought having a thread for this sort of thing would be nice. Wondering why an author did something in particular? Think you spotted an easter egg? This thread is for asking the quest authors stuff about their past and current quests. I'll start: Larro: When did you come up with the conclusion to shoujen? How much was planned out when you started the quest? Did you think that it would get to be so big and complicated? Brom: How did you get Dio's dream thingy (the thing with Aaron that came full circle) to work in Eivr? Typo: WHEN WILL YOUR QUEST UPDATE?!?!11eleventy11!??
ITT: How does a quest? Surely, there are a few people around here who know a thing or two about quest threads. And so, I ask them. How do you do it? What do you use? What qualities does it require? How's it like (or unlike) DMing a campaign? How do you stay sane / can you recommend any good mental hospitals? And is it worth it?
Renderquest as it is currently is not what I originally envisioned. I will continue this version as long as I am able, I think it will evolve into something interesting without any structure. But the original concept will probably come along after a certain amount of time, which I will need to learn how to do rigging, and some humanoid figures, etcetera. I've got a few things planned, I think they'll be pretty fun to play around with.
This Is TPDISCUSSION because I felt someone should make it and I have just enough ego to do it myself just enough
Previous ones: http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/480.html http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/1118.html http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/314015.html http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/316577.html You should weight your words around Heartsbane... especially when talking about giving your heart to him.
Here's a discussion thread for Feet of Clay/Face Quest/whatever this is called, should it become necessary. I'm new to this and will happily take any criticism. (unless that criticism is "buy a tablet." My scanned pen scribblings will have to do)
This is a thread for the upcoming Alchemist Quest, an entry into the saga that follows Hat and Rune Quest. I'm starting it in a seperate thread because some decisions must be made, and the system outlined, before we can begin. First of all, you'll notice a shitty chart as the OP image. this illustrates the the system I will be using for this quest: The Elements Magic system. I shall explain. Styles are how you use elements. Steel indicates a military/martial use. Mind indicates a utilitarian use. Body indicates a use that empowers the body. Wood indicates a use that benefits the environs and others besides the user. Keep in mind that these can be used as Elements and Bases. which will be described soon. Elements are the element you use. Fire is the element of heat, anger, passion, and wild creativity. Earth is the element of strength, tradition, constitution, and willpower, as well as dirt, and stone. Water is the element of change, calmness, determination, and intellect. Air is the element of grace, speed, empathy, and gentleness. Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
The old thread is full again, so we're starting a new one... Link to the old thread >>313335
Alright, I'm going to say this here because I see this happen a lot more than I would like. Just because you can have an established race or character in your quest, doesn't mean you should. I thought that I nailed this into people's heads with the original Silvermoon threads. There is a proper way to have established races or characters, and a bad way, and both can be determined through intent. Ask yourself, what is gained by having this established race in your quest? This isn't for people who are making a quest in a particular world setting, like Vilous or Riarda or the DEEP rock-world that the race is native to. This is for people that are taking that race from that setting and putting them in another new setting, usually one that has an amalgamation of various races from various worlds. Let's look at two very different quests and compare their uses of races, Cutebold Slaughterfest and Diana, Vyt's latest abortion of a quest. Cutebold Slaughterfest has no races that are original to the setting, yet every one of them adds something to the setting. The Moks act like Moks, the Dorfs act like Dorfs, the Sergals act like Sergals and the Lorhke act like Lorhke. This isn't to say "hurrhurr all members of a race act the same" but the characters are all distinctly different and have personalities that reflect their racial abilities and culture. For example, Emma solves her problems through her strengths, her mental intellect, and Cheren solves her problems through her strength, her physical prowess and marksmanship, while Amadoobus solves problems through his strength, the power of song. Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
So you can try to persuade me to draw tits once I get my tablet back. Also, because I feel like actually having a discus thread.
Since this quest's popularity has exploded: A discussion thread.
Mega early to have one of these, but I suppose I might as well make a discussion thread just in case people actually have anything to discuss. Discuss.
... for Ace Combat-oriented quest, using a SRW-esque seishin system and DH's roll-under-on-D% for damn near everything. Thoughts/suggestions/FUNDITs etc.
Ho there future quest voting time. Puzzles and stuff everywhere. What is the protagonist's species? Curelian - Come in three types (flight, land, water), and change based on environmental cues, but have no conscious control of their adaptations. They are completely colorblind and see in grayscale. May have wings, almost paddle-like limbs for swimming, or swift movement. They possess some form of magnetoreception and are quite dexterous. Ezilot - Good at climbing, and have strong appendages. They can see infrared. Their skin and fur are fireproof and resistant to heat, and they adjust well to temperature shock. Lumera - Very good at swimming, and can breathe underwater for extended (but not infinite) periods of time. They are frail and tend to damage easily, but they heal incredibly fast and have very powerful immune systems. They have active electroreception, and can manipulate electric fields. Not exclusively aquatic. Olao - Extremely flexible, they can bend themselves to frankly disturbing extremes. Quite good at jumping, swinging, climbing, and can see in low light situations. They have prehensile tails, and are generally lightweight. Their circadian rhythms are strange, and they tire and wake fast. I probably defined these poorly, so don't hesitate to ask about anything relating to anything.
It seems my first attempt was eaten by a server error. As was featured on the original /tg/, we're going to be doing Half Elf Quest. As I don't feel like repeating myself, the Martial background, and thus classes, will not be offered in this particular quest. This thread is to be used for discussion, heckling, whining, and speculation. Half-Elf Quest, the actual quest, will be posted shortly after this.
Hey there, TGchan. I'm looking into starting my first quest, and I'm curious about a few things. If you guys could help out a bit, that'd be great. Firstly (and probably most importantly), do you guys have room for another quest? If not, that's cool. I'd just like to know before I start anything. Secondly, though I already have a rough and (at this point) completely flexible plot fleshed out, I'd like to know just how flexible you think I should it for the quest proper. Do you guys in general like freeform, railroading, or a mixture of the two? Thirdly, I have no artistic skills whatsoever. I plan to use MSpaint for maps of areas. An unfinished version of one such map is attached. Should I continue along this line or go for all text in lieu of proper drawing skills? I have a few more questions, but this is probably enough for now. I know some methods are suggested on the TGchan wiki, but with this post I'm mostly trying to judge popular opinion, which I plan to consolidate with both what I have planned and what the advice page on the wiki says. Oh, and finally, shall I use a name in this particular thread for the sake of clarity, or will it be easy enough to distinguish me from the other anons? Thanks in advance, TGchan.
I'm rolling around staples in my mouth chewing them like chips, for fuck reasons why. I'm surprised I haven't punctured any gums yet. Anyway. My current quest is more or less nearing its end and I'm interested in taking on a more... traditional quest. I do have an idea in mind, and I will explore that later. However, I've never been the best artistically. In the case of not-quite-text-quests, wherein there are some images, but not with every update, what would you expect for images? Only showing up on important moments? To illustrate the area or whatnot? tl;dr a quest that doesn't always update with pictures, how often would you expect images. In unrelated news I'm now bleeding a little in my mouth. Taliban backpacks, my gum sorta hurts.
So yeah, this is the first quest I've ever done that I actually feel halfway confidant about. If you have any questions, ask here. I won't be able to answer anything that affects the story that you guys or John shouldn't be able to find out yet, obviously but there's a LOT of stuff I can answer. I'm also open to advice, I'm new at this and know that there's ALOT of room for improvement.
There's the artists who do awesome epic tablet landscapes and beautiful scenery and full color and all that fun stuff. There's the simple sketches that can be great for speed updates while still looking great. There's the basic art for no other purpose than to illustrate tactical or statistical points. And then there's authors who use art from their image stash, and do not draw much of their own. However, in all my time here, I have never once seen a pixelart quest. No, not Pixel Quest. A quest illustrated in pure pixelart. (If you don't know what that is, google Pixelart or Pixeljoint.) Some of the author styles can classify under pixelart since they use hard-edged brushes, but that doesn't really fit into mainstream pixelart, since there's a profound lack of shading and minor detailing most of the time, important parts of Pixelart. The closest to mainstream pixelart I've ever seen in quests would be the works of Weaver. I myself am a semi-accomplished pixelartist, and I am considering running a quest with this never-before-seen-here art style. Though updates might be slower due to the naturally time-consuming nature of pixelart, I feel that a new art style might be an interesting change. What say you, tgchan? (Image related- an example of my work. The characters are recognizable from Order of the Stick and 8bit Theater.)
Discussion thread for Aervon's Quest. Questions about the setting. Non-suggestion natter. Etc.
