too soon for much but overall i say it's great.

It's awesome, but I have no idea what we're doing in this quest.
No. 16851 ID: c71597

Take over the world of course.

As for the quest, I like it. Atleast so far. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

We need a Pinky to our Brain. Tory needs to hire an incompetent yet lovable henchman.

And now that the CounterQuest has been paused for a while, I want your feedback. Is there anything that should be done better? What do you not like? What do you like? How's the Counterquest?

This is vital, I die without feedback.
No. 19339 ID: a6008c

I enjoyed the different perspective. It'll be fun to go back to Tory and undo the damage we just did to ourselves.

I like it when we fight against ourselves instead of among ourselves.

I largely missed Tory's Tower while it was running due to... something... (probably not a legitimate reason, quite frankly), but having binged it earlier today I can say I greatly regret not reading it earlier.

I wish we could have stolen the manta, but I was out-voted by people who wanted to destroy it. C'est la vie.

Hopefully our gunslinger will be able to get the kid to the Doctor's floor, and they'll be able to steal some not-carcinogenic healing goop.

it was mostly the fact that they would have no idea how to drive it, and it very well could be automated control.

Ah, I'm just going to do that myself. You made a favicon so I don't think you'd be against putting it in the current thread.

Did any of Helena's minions make it across to the desert world? I'm not sure if this was ever stated.

Maybe it's something you do on purpose, but the single biggest flaw of Tory's Tower is that there's rarely much happening in any given update so sometimes it's hard to come up with new suggestions because nothing has changed to make previous suggestions any more or any less valid...

Ah, thank you for feedback!

Yes, some of them did. Vance did not.
No. 23407 ID: c71597

We must make Tory build an Iron Man suit for exploration of dangerous ruins and repulsing of intruders. Yes, no or some other idea that's better?

I mean it's pretty clear that he has little problems with personally killing, he's just not very good at keeping limbs attached and stuff. So a suit to help with that pesky problem would be a good thing.
No. 23408 ID: fd6d7e

I think... Tory just went to the next level... without his tower.
No. 23426 ID: 4953e3

...Fuck I think you are right.

No. 23433 ID: 9bd27f

It's cool though! Tory's not just some gadget man who wields precursor artifacts; he actually knows how to build his stuff. He can probably Macgyver up some tool or another to call the Doc and get the tower sent over... or maybe even recall it remotely or something.

If not, he can always "invent" a lot of crap and become a billionaire, then build a new tower. I mean, with the information on the camera, he can probably make an improved teleporter anyway right? Maybe?

Either way, next time he gets the chance, he needs to build some kind of robot bodyguard. One that carries some cloned spare parts, and has surgical programming.

Just to clear this up, he did not teleport/whatever to different world or place.

I will make new thread this week, but not now since I need my own time.

So he just... was a dumbass? That's kind of silly. :<

Oh well at least he's not an ottsel.
No. 23495 ID: 9bd27f

Huh, you fooled me with that score tally at the end there. That's cool though. I mean, without the tower, it'd just be Tory. Not nearly as alliterative.

Okay, I made a map of Tory's TOWER. The dimensions might be little off, but it gives the general idea.

Also, I want some feedback. Is Tory's Tower improving, getting worse or still as good as before?
No. 25880 ID: 1854db

I think it stagnated a little since Tory is short on resources and we can't make RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME STUFF, but right now it seems pretty awesome, fighting heroes on even footing.

I wonder how the quest is going to end? When we find out Tory's MYSTERIOUS PAST and resolve his conflict with his home world?

I myself feel that quest has gone way to serious and is advancing too slowly ( even by disregarding the tedious update rate of 1update/day ).
No. 27655 ID: 11d842

Well I'm not sure what the goal is at the moment. Tory came back to his homeworld to see how things are. Turns out it's now a dull radioactive nuclear wasteland. There's not really anything to do except loot the immediate area and leave for greener pastures before low-level radiation poisoning sets in.

I was bored until you threw this J guy in, now it looks pretty interesting. I'm excited to see what's up with him.

It's already been said, but it feels like some updates don't advance the plot and beget other suggestions. We don't want to spend 2 updates sorting thru the filing system, unless there's some kind of danger or intrigue. I think you are starting to get into Tory's past and his secrets, which is interesting, but that feels like it progresses a bit slowly - maybe start dropping a little more info about that and it will pick up.

Or something along that line.

I wish for some feedback. I am planning to start [thread 9] on sunday or monday. I am well aware that I have barely improved questing ( read: boring situations, things take fucking long, not-so-well-placed-timeskips )
But hey, I've tried to flesh out characters.
No. 36599 ID: cf65c1

The art is much improved, thank you.
But I am too much of a smartass to not give you this as a response for your request for feedback:

No. 36635 ID: 369a62

I reckon things are pretty good now. Tory has been building up a master plan and I'd like to see how it all unfolds. Possibly with the nukes finally seeing some glorious use.

I think the art right now is superb and perfect for the quest. It was kind of spotty at the start and looking back at thread 1 it wasn't all that good. I'm glad you've been improving it constantly.

Tory's Tower is now one year old!
It has been a long trip!

Anyway, I got a new HUGE tablet which will take some getting used to. During the summer you can expect more frequent updates due more free time.

Liked the new tablet superupdate. Feels like things are really kicking into gear.

Sorry, I kinda lost my wind with Tory's Tower. You cannot believe how hard it is to draw right now. The quality has gotten pretty ridiculous to maintain. There have been several nights when I have drawn something, then disregarded as shit and continued next day. So, I am trying to keep up now, but I cannot promise too consistent update-schedule.

Also, on other news, I just finished that long-named quest, Kaustinen's Pretty Short, Unamusing Quest to Attain Alcoholic Beverages, Punch People He Hates and Escape Some Sort of Surreal Alternate Dimension. I would like some thoughts on it. It wasn't anything too serious, but more of a time-killer.

And lastly, I have started in my boredom ANOTHER quest on MSPA's adventure-forum. To Hell and Back which is about a boy who ventures into underworld to save his bro.
Now now, yes, I have been focusing on it a bit more because the idea feels fresh and it is bit more fun to draw than HUGE-ASS COMPLICATED SPIDERLORD.

Tory's Tower was a great quest. It has been one of my favorites from start to finish. Thanks for providing.
No. 40496 ID: 0bd0b0

I completely agree.

The ending seemed really dependent on what we had suggested. I wonder, how different could it had been with different suggestions? Tory maybe would have succeeded or something. I am glad at least we did not get a bad ending.
No. 40498 ID: 0d7a83

My thoughts exactly.
No. 40690 ID: 180ec2

I felt like this needed to be posted from the IRC:
<Insomnia> I thought you said Huey Freeman
<sleepRand> Huey Freeman, who was Gordon Freeman's cousin was one day in nucluar powerplant, watching over fuel rods
<sleepRand> He was looking at his monitor, but then Tory Sinclair came inside from the door and said
<sleepRand> "I will steal the fuel rods and build atom lasers!"
<sleepRand> Huey Freeman tried to fight him, but his robots stoppeded him.
<sleepRand> Tory Sinclair went out of the powerplant into his copter and flew off.
<sleepRand> Huey Freeman was thinking that he should get the fuelrods back so he went to the garage and went into his monster truck
<sleepRand> He arrived in Tory's lair, where Tory was building atomic laser-robot from fuel rods.
<sleepRand> "You are too late" said Tory. Robot began to move and began to fire its atom-lasers at Huey.
<sleepRand> Huey dodged and rushed to the robot and kicked into the stomach and the robot fell.
<sleepRand> "Curses!" said Tory but Huey said "Not so fast!"
<sleepRand> "Too late" said Tory and activated intruder-throw-away system, which picked up Huey and threw him out from top of the tower.
<sleepRand> Huey took his shirt and made it into a paracute and flew off into safety
<sleepRand> The tower disappeared in flash of teleportation, and everyone was happy.
<sleepRand> Later Huey went to participate in Freeman family meeting.
<sleepRand> The end.

Now that Tory's Tower is wrapped up maybe we can get some questions answered...

Did Doc have any agendas or did he stay with Tory?
What was the deal with the void reflection?
Did the mining outpost in the desert world successfully mine a lot of minerals?
What happened to the Ancients?
Was the Armipotent being on Earth up to much or was it just lounging about in general?

>Did Doc have any agendas or did he stay with Tory?
Stayed with Tory, corpses etc., studying alien species etc.

>What was the deal with the void reflection?

Did the mining outpost in the desert world successfully mine a lot of minerals?
Some. Tory did fall asleep during construction of one of the robots, and that robot malfunctioned when he was gone, rendering it useless.

>What happened to the Ancients?
They are still few around. Remaining ancients are running out of time anyway, so they might not stay for long.

>Was the Armipotent being on Earth up to much or was it just lounging about in general?
Almost all armipotent beings are not sapient, so yeah, if you are talking about that water-thing, just lounging about.

I misread suggestions and made this image, herpa derpa.

Have you ever tried to play a real motherfucking organ? You have to be as nimble with your feet as with your hands, and twice as dexterous with your hands as a normal pianist, plus being able to keep track of several different sets of keys at once, individually manipulating each appendage independently of any other.

Look at this image! THIS is a motherfucking organ! Capistrano?

IIRC, the ship control boards from the Lensman series were described as akin to organs that, instead of directing air through pipes, directed superheated gas through thrusters (I think that even with the Bergenholm, they stilled used reaction drives... Better go reread them!).
