Tgchan wiki is pretty comprehensive, and you can look through quests based on author if there's someone you're particularly fond of or have been recommended. Brom and Fractal are both pretty big names from what I can tell, although I haven't seen them quite as much here lately. tHere's a bunch of sections on the wiki for stuff like major completed quests, or there's a section on "quest settings" where you can see the universes that more than one quest takes place in, giving you a good idea of what quests might have more meat to them yanno?
Anyways my advice is to just check the wiki, hope this helped

Hey so Dylan went and updated the wiki with a newer mediawiki version. There's a bunch of cool little improvements / features as a result of this (like sortable tables now work), but the big thing is this:

It's now easy to sign up for the wiki. All you need is an email and to solve a captcha. No longer do you have to wait (days or weeks) for a lazy wiki-mod (me) to get around to manually clicking the "yeah this guy doesn't look like a robot, approve" button!

Oh, and even if you have no interest in contributing or editing, the search bar on the left now suggests autocompletes of page names when you start typing, making it easier to find stuff.

Alright, I've tried to look at the wiki if I could find all the previously featured quests, or if some quests had a "featured" tag, or something like that.

Turns out I can't. I feel like I'm missing out on A LOT of great quests (deep, alien quest and the end being the first three I have found here that I hadn't yet read)!

Since the "major completed quests" has like ten quests, but there's a lot more quests that are worth reading, (maybe a major unfinished quest page like the romanticar series) could anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Personally, the reason I never added a tag or category to show off quests that have been previously featured is that featuring is somewhat arbitrary and unfair. There are plenty of good quests that have never been featured, and while I'm comfortable holding up something once a month or so and saying "hey this is good maybe more people should look at this" I'm less comfortable curating a permanent list of what's quality and what's not.

I think your problem is you're just updating too fast. We're not as fast as 4chan around here. Give people a little longer to respond and you might get more than one response per update.

For what it's worth, I am enjoying the frantic energy though. We're building up a strange little cast of heros and provinces pretty quick, and getting jumped by lots of hostiles.

I think it's notable that most quests don't get very large followings, certainly in the beginning. So you will probably gain more people as time goes on, and you could slow down the updates, but that might alienate people who are already participating. So make whatever choice you feel is best.

I don't think it was Curse that was causing problems, other modpacks on it run fine. Either way, there's an option to just go to the folder where a profile's installed just by right clicking on it.

So there's been some ideas getting tossed around for putting together a mod pack that wouldn't have horrible server lag.

I guess the big question is what's some 'essential' mods and what's the server intended to be used for. Exploration? Building ridiculous structures? Server destroying automated- no, not that one.

Gravestones, to prevent item loss. Thaumcraft, because people love magic and there is a lot of research to be done in the mod. Mystcraft, because Myst is an awesome game and dimensions are cool too I guess. Gotta have a minimap; the one on the current server also has a world map, and both are helpful to navigation. Tinker's Construct has the oreberry bushes I find so useful, and at least one of the mods with expanded automation (RF contraptions) and an ore duster would be good to have. Riot's build also uses a decorative mod or two, would not remember which without getting back on the server. All in all, the number of 'essential' mods could probably be cut down to under 25 rather than the 179 Infected Cash loads. Sheesh.

Also, I invite anyone to check out the Gulliver Resizing and Littleblocks mods for 1.6.4. Build tiny houses, then live in them!

I've been liking HALL so far. It's creative and refreshing, I like the surreal themes and the art isn't half bad. If you're worried about your quests not getting much attention, just keep in mind that tgchan is a small board. The other quests I've been keeping up with have been a little slow too. The only way you'll get better is practice. And hey, what it boils down to is what do YOU want and what will serve YOU.
