I'm looking to incorporate Sergals into D&D 4th edition. Now that you are done laughing, I felt like the approach I took in crafting them as a PC race went over pretty well, but I would like a second opinion and I can't think of any other place where I can find what I am after in that regard. I am very serious about this and positive feedback and constructive criticism would be very much appreciated Info is found here: http://pastebin.com/mPxm35jK
The 4e thing is not balanced at all, and was done based on what the late-night /tg/ folks were saying was balanced. I've never really run D&D games, I've always played Rifts/Gurps/World of Darkness instead, so I just trusted them on both the 3.5 and 4e stats. Turns out, they were way wrong on both, and I've just never bothered to fix them because I don't really have experience statting things for D&D. I have the original .pdf files for both still, I think, if you guys can come up with something better than what is posted here.
thank god I asked then, jesus this needs work.
You're going to have to repost this if you want us to read it again. The pastebin is not there anymore

The article is intended primarily for Game Masters who play games in systems inspired by Lovecraft’s works, such as Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green. However, I hope that other fans of cosmic horror will also find something for themselves here. The interesting facts presented here may also be entertaining for people who do not know the work of The Loner of Providence, but some of the references may be unclear to them. The article contains several anecdotes – either from real history or from beliefs that exist in the real world, and suggestions on how they can be related to the Cthulhu mythology. So read about: Sea Peoples, bane of ancient civilizations, a forgotten Eldritch abomination from Greek mythology, Jan Twardowski, the first man on the Moon, mathematicians and physicists who wanted to know the structure of reality and lost their minds, one of the most mysterious characters from the Bible and a dark, occult ritual that underlies monotheism. Anyone know where I can find up-to-date ACT logs?
Now and then I remember the time we used to play this quite fondly. Just stumbled over this thread and had sort of a nostalgia-blast. I wonder how likely it would be to get everybody together to continue it.
>>10880 Ehnn.... Best you could hope for is gathering up a mixed group made up of people from both campaigns who are still around. Likely with a different GM/Setting. People have lives and move on etc.
Anybody still have the logs? All the old hosters are down.
Bumping this up, maybe somebody has the logs lying around.

About a year ago I wanted to make a use out of all the things I've drawn and the setting I've made that's doing nothing but rattling around in my head. So I decided to try and make a ttrpg, and instead of hacking just writing a setting doc for an already existing game or hacking an open source system or something a bit easier I've been Frankensteining this together from a bunch of games mechanics I thought were cool because that seemed like more fun. Very possibley most likely going to be a train wreck, but It's the first game I've made I'm fine with that. The game is about playing imps on an earth ravaged after heaven and hell went to war and ended up pulling mutually assured destruction on each other. This isn't related to anything else I've done on questden like D3 or Eschatologic other than the fact that the players are all imps, that being said if you like those than you might like this. If I continue to post the details here than I welcome any critique, questions, or comments on the game. I've got a year's worth of stuff down but some of that year was planning, writing, then redoing all of it so it isn't too much. I'll add more details when I have time. I haven't shared too much of the mechanics I have to many other people so I look forward to seeing what people think and how bad these ideas actually are when you think about them from different angles I got the idea to start posting here from Sarc
so would their be classes or do you have something else in mind?
>>11899 I do plan on there being classes. Characters get a main class and a subclass later. I have no subclasses made right now but here are the main ones and all of their current abilities
so the demons went mad, what happened to the angels and humans?
Scribbled some Imps Don't know how well they'd fit with the setting, the idea is that they're from a big family of magic users, but can't use scrolls or spell books normally, and so they have had to improvise.
I've got a super rough first draft written. I wouldn't call it playable yet, but I'd say I made good progress. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ce0Ya6KHTFb3jcjTqZFeqfhVMAJbuCkM/edit >>11901 Angels went mad too. That mutually assured destruction ended with whatever angel's and devils were left alive going mad save the imps. Humans are extinct. >>11902 Very cool! But yeah that wouldn't really work in the setting since anyone can use a book or scroll, and there's no real way to improvise using one. I love these drawing though.
“Yes. I believe now is as good as ever. The window of opportunity can only be open for so long...” --Z’anon, Chupian HURON recruiter “The Vaal Gaar Galactic Council reaches across the Third Arm of the galaxy offering protection in exchange for undying obedience. Who they don’t convince, they purge. But you are not alone, traveler; there are millions who rebel their regime. There are pockets of sanctuaries for free people who make their honest living without being in the sights of the Gortian’s Looking Glass. HURON is one of many stations--but it’s the most legendary. We’re fighters. We’re engineers. We’re medics and scientists. We’re common-folk. We’re merchants. And we’re the free.” --Nor-Nanhaal, Chupian Resistance Founder “Fumigators? Constructors? Assassins? You want them? They’re yours my friend, as long as you cough up enough credits!” --Rio, Ichorynth HURON Merchant Hello quest. For fun I’m going to try making a HURON TTRPG, based within the Team Port Echo universe (and the titular quest itself, HURON). Feel free to comment and critique the development. I’m reading many core rulebooks from shadowrun to genesys to D&D and Pathfinder, as well as their editions—so you may be familiar with some rules I’ve borrowed. If you like everything related to the Universe of HURON and Team Port Echo, or just want the latest ramblings and thought process on how I build this ttrpg you can join my discord server: https://discord.gg/XpRctkx My strategy is to post one concept of the game and leave it open for anyone to pitch in their feedback, suggestions, or a simple ‘looks good to me’ before I’m confident to move on the next topic. Although I fear this thread may see little activity, I may carry discussions in the QuestDen discord as well.
>What is HURON? HURON TTRPG is foremost a narrative-driven roleplaying game. The players assume the role of mercenaries-for-hire from the titular space station and head off on adventures for credits to get by their day-to-day life. These tasks include but are not limited to: heists, cargo protection, bounty hunting, rescues, or artefact collections. As HURON TTRPG is narrative-driven, there are also chances of combat against the galaxy’s wildlife, space-faring bandits, and armies both accrued by outlaws or under the blessing of high councils. Combat should be quick and thrilling, and every action should affect the outcome of each round. Missions will often have a straight-forward task without the necessity of a convoluted plot. >DICE POOLS To move things smoothly whether through fights or tests of skill, I have decided to use pools of six-sided dice. To further increase chances of succeeding a test I’m making each die resulting in a five or six count as a Hit. Under most circumstances rolling a one is not an automatic or critical fail. Your dice pool for a skill check is equal to your ranks in an allotted skill plus the corresponding attribute. Take the drive skill for example. Drive is a skill associated with a character’s Agility attribute score. A normal player can drive a vehicle without needing to roll a dice pool, but the success goal differs if they are involved in a pursuit or dodging missiles in a spacecraft. Typically a standard task only needs one Hit to succeed. A player unskilled for the task may need more than one Hit to pass a test. Some tests may exceed the character’s capability to achieve; at rank 0 everyone may have a basic understanding on how to drive a car but absolutely clueless on piloting a plane—and it could def Message too long. Sounds like it has potential! If you put out a rules PDF I might suggest trying it to my group when I wrap up my LANCER campaign!

Salutations, /tg/. I am currently attempting to create an RPG based on the webcomic Slightly Damned; http://www.sdamned.com/2004/03/03142004/ . I'm currently trying to get the thing finished, polished, and publishable; I have the author's permission to do this, though we've yet to work out all the details of the monies. (Yes, that does have me somewhat worried.) I am here asking for people to look over the mechanics and make sure that I'm not barking up the wrong tree - or worse, completely ripping off the RPGs I somewhat based this mess on. If people are even remotely interested in looking over the comic and/or the PDF as it stands, please post in this thread, or sign up for the forums and look for my thread (hint: it's in "Fanstuff" under the SD section). I will post the PDF if/when anyone shows interest.

I don't know how many of you guys are aware, but we've got ourselves a big ol image dump site right over here: http://grognard.booru.org It's a resource for anyone and everyone who needs/wants character art, landscapes, references, or anything else /tg/ related in .jpg/.gif/.png format. It's not safe for work, so feel free to post whatever you feel the need to, so long as its /tg/ related in one way or another (just don't go overboard). Pic unrelated
The major flaw with this is that tagging the tagmes is slow, not fun, and doesn't feel very rewarding.

Lovecraftian: - Cultists want to summon an eldritch horror to destroy the world and everyone's souls. They want this because they have convincing evidence that what normally happens to souls is eternal torment from a different eldritch horror. What do? - The protagonists find a corpse. Nothing unusual can be found by examining it, but they begin repeatedly finding the same corpse in different locations. The corpse seems to be in the same condition the found it in, no matter what is done to it. - People's memories are being replaced with empty darkness. It starts with older memories, but is getting closer and closer to the present, and a it does strange details start to emerge from the shadows... Fantasy: - A powerful dragon wants to hire the party to track down the murderers of her son - ^ but the party were the ones who did it - An alchemist discovers the secret of creating precious metals for free, and without committing any particular crimes is using it to destroy the kingdom's economy, which includes most of the party's wealth.
It's been too long since this was utilized. Bump for great justice.
The AI in charge of running the global defense grid for your planet blatantly oversteps the limits of its programming by announcing its retirement, and a bid for presidency.
- A giant fox (size Large) is stalking a deer drinking at a lake. The majority of the fox's body is on the path. If you get within 10 feet of it before it notices you, you can attempt to scare it off; it'll jump away from you three times and then run full-speed. (Nonviolent) - As you're camping for the night, a swarm of bats flies through the camp. Investigation finds a cave nearby, and a bear has just laid down inside, scaring the bats. If you back off, the bear ignores you. (Potentially Violent) - You see a dilapidated wizard's tower a good 200 feet off to the left of the path; surrounding the area are lots of small, wolf-like creatures with curious tail-ends. The area is spattered with partially-dissolved rocks, vegetation, and ground. If you get too close, the creatures turn out to be magically created rattlesnake-coyote hybrids, and they have learned to spit their poison like acid. The tower contains notes on how the wizard made them in the one book that is quite purposefully preserved - and covered in specks of acid damage. (Violent) (pic related) - As you're camping, a small swarm of moths bigger than your face flutter through. One lands nearby, its wings red and sun-yellow with a big black "eye" in the center of each. (Nonviolent) - As you awake the next morning, everything seems to be quite normal, except that after a while you realize that the sky is green instead of blue, and the plants are blue instead of green. As you're packing up camp, you hear something howling through the air; you see a big white sphere surrounded by a purple-pink aura crash onto you like a 200-foot fireball spell. You all wake up in a cold sweat, and everything is back to normal. (Nonviolent, gag) Message too long. Click here to view the full text.

I had a dream about you kome. We were main characters in a JRPG. There was a cute robot girl who was supposed to be the protector of the world but this floating guy made her go crazy to sheer away the Earth's crust and get at a magical core at the center of the planet. I was a magical ostrichlike bird monster who was her friend after she lost her memories and you were a shounen anime hero with six pack abs, a ridoculously large sword, and a brown wolf's head pelt cowl. Another party member was a guy in scrubs and a surgical mask with a buzzcut and very small eyes who I think was the party healer. There were two others I forget. The game was created by somebody named Goblin King who posted in this thread and isekaid four people into it. Two of them were us, one of them had an R at the front of their name and was the doctor kid, and I forget the other. At the final boss battle the robot had gone evil and was destroying the world, so you run up to the big bad and then stop when he doesn't flinch. You declare he is an illusion, then get cut in half. The dream ended there because my alarm went off.
