Deep breaths, deep breaths. You need to slow down so you can pay attention to the search, instead of splitting your attention between the search & your anxiety.

Put an egg timer on for about 15 minutes, and work on anything else that needs to be done by today. The less weight your to-do list has the lower your heart rate, which will help you do this thing smarter.

AGH. Oh, oh wait, it's you guys! Look, something horrible has happened, something so awful that I think I might actually lose my shit in a few minutes....someone raided my bottom drawer while I was sleeping.
>New outfit?
>Laundry day?
My regular sweater IS in the laundry actually...wait no this isn't the time for that! There's incriminating items missing!

>>1127761
You're right...you're right...don't think about the horribly humiliating and revealing things someone has taken from me...I don't think it's working.
>>
No. 1127768 ID: 35abe7

Oh yeah, a portal opened up in your dresser the other night after you feel asleep and some axolotl looking S.O.B came out and rummaged through your drawer. Said something about hitting other houses after they were done as well so your neighbors are probably missing stuff as well.
>>
No. 1127770 ID: fe0bf7

Well anyways, you should probably take your medication if you haven't taken it this morning. It'll help let you think rationally.

>Charlotte moves to the kitchen and retrieves an EGG TIMER. She moves to the living room next, setting the little thing to 15 minutes as she tries to sort out her thoughts.

Okay...so I fought some sort of mental image...monster...THING in the doctor's office last night...then I went to bed...and then while I was out someone came OUT of the wardrobe and robbed me...? Why the Hell would they even take what was in THAT drawer! There's nothing valuable in there! Well, not to anyone ELSE at least!
>>
No. 1127775 ID: 35abe7

Could just be an asshole stealing things just for the love of the game. They did say something about other houses as well so maybe see if any of your neighbors are messing anything and what. Might give us a clue why the thief stole the things they did.

Also what did they take if you don’t mind us asking?
>>
No. 1127780 ID: fe0bf7

Maybe we shouldn't worry about it, you could always get new [REDACTED]. After all, if it's valuable only to you and nobody else, and it's embarrassing to have people know you own it, then it's probably for the best it is gone.

In fact, this is a good thing, maybe use this as a carrot on a stick kind of thing: if you can fix your mental state, you can reward yourself with new ones. Something to motivate you and strive for. Owning and using that will probably just be too much of a distraction from the problems you are avoiding anyway.

After all, finding the robber and accusing him of stealing it would reveal you own that stuff that you don't want revealed you own. At least this way, you can deny that you ever owned them.

That said, you're probably going to just have to do things the old fashioned way without them.
>>
No. 1127781 ID: fe0bf7

Only speaking in spoilers so Charlotte doesn't hear me and get anxiety.

just a reminder to suggestors, Charlotte should only take her medication once per day according to the directions

Her doctor said she was supposed to take one last night before bed, but she forgot. Thankfully she didn't have any vivid dreams again last night, so she's probably alright.

We're taking it now, which means we should avoid taking it for the rest of the day.

Is the mystery item something that is obviously tied to you? (like if it was signed or something) If not then its nothing to get worked up over, just a problem to be solved. A problem that can and will be solved, in time.

Ugh...you're not wrong...but still, the fact they apparently used a portal to get into my house worries me...like a LOT. Do you think it has anything to do with what's been happening to me...?
>>1127784
>The combined assurance of her voices has calmed Charlotte down to a neutral state. She sighs and rubs her temples before sinking into the couch.
Man...I thought I was done with this stuff after last night...

Adult toy or revealing underwear, got it. Not much else people would keep in a dresser drawer. Also no I don’t think this one happened to you because of the weird things going on in your life. Since other people have been robbed this just sound like poor luck on your part.

Though what to do next? I say make breakfast and check your phone while you eat.

SnakeEye. It's some dumb app that tracks local news and events. It's like a local social media thing.

Now the next mind monster can't threaten to reveal your secret.
And besides, there's nothing shameful about it. Really, it would be more embarrassing to be caught stealing them from someone else. So whoever robbed your house certainly can't use them against you.
Unless they're really big and heavy. But you've got a crowbar, so you'll still come out on top.
I stand by my choice of words.

My Aunt's already upset with me, I can tell by the fact that she took the time to text me. If she has to come here herself she's gonna be even more pissed off...

>What are you going to wear?
I was thinking purple sweater with sweat pants. They'll never see it coming.

>Charlotte takes a deep breath before calling her Mom. The phone rings a few times before...
"Charlotte? Sweetie? Are you okay?"

Y-Yeah Mom, I'm fine...I just woke up.

"Listen honey, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday, I just want to make sure that you're safe. We all do."

I know Mom...I'm sorry I yelled at you. Uh, do you know why Aunt Carol is texting me today?

"Your Aunt is texting you? What did she say?"

>>
No. 1127901 ID: 0404f2

ask if she has any advice for dealing with your aunt.

Oh, and if you don't want to talk about yourself ask about her. Like how your mom is doing and how her day has been going. Even if you don't really care it will probably stop her from asking things about you. Plus hearing a boring conversation can actually help you calm down since you'd be to bored to be worried.
>>
No. 1127902 ID: ad887e

Tell her “okay, I will, thanks”

Then change the subject and ask how’s she’s been lately, what’s new with her? Shift the conversation away from you and your problems and let’s hear if she has any interesting news to share. She might appreciate you wanting to have a normal conversation without mental drama and shows her you’re making progress. Will also show her you are not upset with her. Might lower your anxiety even.

It's a relief to hear from your mother like this. I know you've had issues with her in the past, but it sounds like she really does care and wants to help you. Your aunt, though... it sounds like you have some particularly unpleasant issues with her. In what way is she involved in your life?

Huh? What happened?

"You know that big jar of change he keeps in the closet? The one for emergencies?"

The one that hasn't been used for an emergency in a decade?

"Yes exactly. Well apparently it's missing. He looked all over and couldn't find it."

...huh.

I have a few...nearly identical sweaters....look I have a specific taste and my only other outfit right now is uh...if she saw me in it she'd actually disown me.

>Relationship with Aunt.
She's...not pleasant. Her only involvement in my family is usually during holidays, when I had my...episode, she was embarrassed and gave my parents some choice words about public image and how our family has to set a higher standard or some shit. She's only helping with my medical stuff to sweep my episode under the rug as quickly as possible...

Another outfit, you say? I guess we're lucky the thief didn't steal that too.

Oh, right, the thief. Your mother would want to know that a burglar's been stealing things lately. That's probably what happened to their jar. If she wants to know if something was stolen from you, and won't accept "it's something embarrassing" as an answer, say it was some of your undergarments so you dob't have to talk about sex toys. Communication is important, but not that important.

But we'll have to talk to your aunt too. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and your mom turned out to be nicer than she seemed, but if your aunt saw you having a mental health crisis and did nothing but rage about her reputation... that is not a person I look forward to meeting.

Why is your family so important, anyway? What does your aunt do at City Hall? What do your parents do? What do you do?

Oooh! Is the outfit you’re referring to this one? https://questden.org/kusaba/questdis/res/109181.html#145419

Because it looks so good on you gurl!

Anyways, let mother know that regarding the jar of coins, you did read that there was a burglar running around town, maybe it was them? And that you will make sure to lock your doors and windows before you head out and before bed.

DONT mention anything about getting robbed. She doesn’t need to know.

(But it is interesting that both robbing incidents has something to do with wardrobes/closets. But hey, two times is coincidence. Third times a pattern. If you see another instance of a robbery taking place where someone stores clothing, we might be getting somewhere.)

>>
No. 1128024 ID: 3184a6

just tell you're mom you think someone took one of your "sweaters" and that you've been hearing some rumors of a bunch of people losing things. They're saying there's some serial cat burglar running around... uh, quick question, a cat burglar means someone who is just a petty thief and not an actual cat person right? I know in some areas the meaning can change.

But yeah, you can thank you're mom for calling to check up on you, hope dad did just misplace his totally not a swear jar, and you need to go and start up a shower before you're ready to face the day. The shower part is just to stop her from asking questions if she remembers before you hang up by giving her an excuse to why you need to hang up.

Oh and don't forget to say you love her before you hang up, parents love hearing things like that.
