Digging the outfit Bobbie. Soothsayer ain't a bad way to go. We're an advisor to a low-level noble. Perhaps a baron-ish? He'd like to stay low-key so he sent us and we won't name who sent us. We've seen that this place may have implications for the peace of his barony so we're here. When a youth we studied the stars and skies as they fascinated us. We started as a source of weather predictions and studied soothsaying as a means of improving. We gained more responsibilities as we widened our skills. So now we're a court advisor of sorts. Our birth name is difficult to most people (like M'swiorgaztsh). So we go by Stargazer as an alias. Should we get pressed we can go on and on about predicting rainfall from clouds.

Greetings Grand Marshal, nice to see you back after the one month hiatus that this story took.

>>

A, for consistency. Don’t want rumors spreading about Bobbie being here for Iron Dredge or the water kingdom to find out.
>>
No. 1118915 ID: a90642

Fake name of course. We can always write letters from stargazer about a patron who'd like to inquire of their services. Or just have our rock guy deal with the unofficial contacts.
>>

A). ibbeob the stargazer. or just stargazer.

Make it Ebbio the Stargazer, so it won't be quite so obvious. An anagram of Bobbie's name, minus the first "b". We're denying her the first letter in her name as punishment for her recent mistakes. She is Obbie now.

A) Send Gramleza back to the flying chariot.

B) Send Gramleza with another traveling troupe member back to the flying chariot to make sure she would stay there.

C) Let her come along to the castle.

D) Other suggestions.

C) gramleza's really taking to her roll as court jester. Her job tonight is to embarrass snooty nobles without getting thrown out. If she can manage that she earns the right to wear the jester hat again.

And just who was she spying on?~

A, so that Rock Vibration can teach her how to prank better and be an even worse gremlin. Also, I don't really think she should be with us for this party. Rock Vibration can Keep her distracted enough with his lessons.

If she does join us, I must suggest she wears a disguise, and use a different name. I believe people would be able to associate her with Bobbie and her kingdom, so we want to keep her identity a secret here.

knowledge really. Get to learn about any other people of high ranking, determine if they can be an ally or an enemy or neutral, and make good first impressions.
>>
No. 1119092 ID: 62d1b4

Since we're disguised we can gain info. We figure out who's powerful in particular aspects. Get a sense of who has what goals. See who'd be solid allies or at least pragmatic to associate with. Get a feel of how we're viewed from the outside since we're disguised. People tend to be more honest with feelings if they believe it's said in confidence. See who is friends with who. See who is rivals with who. Perhaps a friend of an enemy would provide backchannel diplomacy if needed. Who would be worth sending spies to. With spycraft as well as diplomacy and economics we can win a war before it begins.

Wait for a better target to follow. Spies in a guard area could be seen poorly by the host. Gram's business involves Wormy so keeping plausible deniability would be the way to go.

A) stick with your persona for now, although he'll probably recognize your voice.

Now that the cat is gone there's no need for us to hold a grudge against him. And we did break his arm maybe unnecessarily so, go easy on the guy.

An idea just popped up and I’m thinking some moves ahead, Abdle, would you like to take a nap right now? That way, if you are asleep, grey opportunity can show up and manipulate anyone we have hold the lantern you are in. We just gotta figure out how we can have whoever we want hold our lantern

Well without the rat catcher with Kenku we've got who we should spy on here. Option 1 is safest and 3 is a hard no because it'd give us up. Perhaps we could be vague though? "Stargazer and I've seen your face in my soothsaying. One who will have a limited effect upon our region here. Who are you and what is your goal?"

Bobbie knows his female friend is the cat and is dead
but Remember this: Stargazer the Soothsayer Baroness does not know she is dead, nor it is the cat thief or her name.

For his second question of why you were interested in him, just act awkward and say you only wish to make a good first impression to the people you meet, and If he's bothered, we can stop, ooh hoo hoo... Remember that you are supposed to act like a bumbling goof with hidden knowledge

to the question will I see my female friend again, ask for more details about what happened so you can better help. For all Stargazer knows, his female friend could have just run away from him because they're no longer friends after a huge fight. Knowing his friend his dead and bringing it up might raise a little bit of suspicion.

She... she is at the nexus of many events. She may win or she may lose. She will do great things before the end. Perhaps terrible too as that is what happens during a rise or a fall. One thing is for sure. Whoever faces her will lose a crucial element of themselves. Her enemies who survive will envy the dead. Or so the stars say ooh hoo hoo!
>>
No. 1119474 ID: fd169b

Oh it doesn't take a seer to foresee that the kingdom will burn. But why so vindictive little kenku? This is the game you and the cat played, and the stakes you chose. didn't she just do to you, what you would have done to her?
>>
No. 1119498 ID: 717e10

B
as with all life, her flame will extinguish one day of course, ooh hoo hoo...

But the kingdom will live on. What happens after remains to be drawn among the stars, from what I see, it all depends on how the followers and new ruler view the world after her death and her influence is gone that determine their path for peace, or for tyranny.

we should hesitate to ask anything of steinhardt if that will translate as owing him a favor. but if we want to, then B). tie up all loose ends.
>>
No. 1119598 ID: c22ef4

Skeptical of his claims given how resigned Kenku seems. Still, we put the spy rat on him for now. Either way we get proof of how worthy or unworthy Steinhardt is as an ally to us. "Leave him alive for now. We have... plans."
>>
No. 1119599 ID: fd169b

C) What an... interesting offer. But the kenku doesn't seem like a real threat so, why bother?

(Bobbie, this guy's gifts have strings attached. avoid accepting them if you can. Also we see how easily he pretends to be nice while plotting ruthless murder. Watch your back.)
>>
No. 1119603 ID: 7d26f7

B) He is bluffing. He wants to see if we want to kill another bird kind. So let's call out his bluff with our own bluff.
>>
No. 1119630 ID: 717e10

(D)eploy rat to spy on Kenku. With him joining Iron Dredge's army, we can get valuable info that way. Just do it without Steinhardt looking. Maybe ask him to lead the way, and when he turns around to do that, rat can follow Kenku.

Possible answers to the first question that was asked:

A) I can use the guard as protection.

B) No, I do not need his help.

C) Do you think that I should use his help?

D) Other suggestions.

Possible answers to the second question that was asked:

A) Tell the spy rat to continue watching Kenku.

B) Tell the spy rat to return to us.

C) Tell the spy rat to find a better target to spy on.

D) Other suggestions.
>>

C. "Do you think that I should use his help? a big strong general would bring attention to just a simple little Stargazer like me, Ebbio, wouldn't you think? Oooh hoo hoo hoo! Maybe a regular guard would fit me more?"

A) Tell the spy rat to continue watching Kenku. Abdle, here's the plan, lets direct all information about what the spy sees to us lesser demons privately, not Bobbie. We don't need her to get worried during this party, and make her look bad. What Bobbie doesn't know won't hurt her. If anything needs to be brought up, we will tell Bobbie ourselves.

That said, if Gramleza does something that will ruin us, she will have to suffer severe consequences.
>>
No. 1119683 ID: 717e10

>>1119669
Also, make sure Gramleza doesn't see spy rat either.
>>
No. 1119684 ID: fd169b

oh good, two spyings for the price of one. maybe they'll get in a fight.

our gracious host, surely you aren't implying that your own party in your own home is unsafe? We trust a guard, even one as impressive as this, will not be necessary.
>>
No. 1119779 ID: f9c4b2

C. and A. surely gramleza will have some sense into not making the rat spy obvious.... right....
