:slorsnis: "I feel something... it's a fresh warm sock!"
No. 925301 ID: 094652

Shake the sock!
No. 925302 ID: 83bf07

...a laundry vent? Huh. Pocket sock. Move on
No. 925303 ID: b1b4f3

So THAT'S how people lose socks.
Someone put it on and let's keep going.
No. 925310 ID: 834378

Look inside the sock. Also, look into its history.

:slorsnis:There's nothing inside it! "Tronklis, hee hee, come here I need you to do something!"
Heh heh.
"you gotta look at it"

:tronklis:"there's nothing."

:slorsnis: That would have been funnier if he would have got upset about touching my toes!
No. 925417 ID: e7848c

He's a little different right now.
Please be patient with him.
No. 925462 ID: 398bc4

Hopefully the drug wears off so you can mess with him again. Anyway, continue onwards!
No. 925533 ID: 834378

That's strange. How can an item have no history? Or is it the injection that's temporarily disabling Tronklis' ability? Just to be sure, I'd try reading one of our items that we know has a history. Other than that, I'd go with >>917641, using the key on the box room door, before venturing further in this direction.

:oubliss:We could make him try something else, but I don't know what has history or what doesn't. He got lazy or something too. I don't know what kind of thing to make him look at?

:oubliss:"Let me try something!" I try the key on the door in the box room, it won't go in at all. I get that weird mushy hard feeling again.
There's a key hole on the box though, and it fits just fine in there! And there's treasure inside!
:slorsnis: "AWESOM you found some tresher! I'mma grab this!"
No. 951643 ID: e7848c

Oh sweet, what's the loot? Be sure no one wanders off though.
No. 951644 ID: b1b4f3

Nice! Treasure!

...is everything supposed to be sideways? We may have changed areas without even opening a door. See if you can go back out into the tunnels. If you can, let's try going further down the unexplored corridor that leads to the right of the map.
No. 951676 ID: 9e04c9

Which box? The machine with the lights?

Can you flip the machine back up the way it originally was? If it turns on, then you could try to put some of these coins in the slots... and play some games.

:oubliss: It's sideways because I pushed it over! I put it back right side up but it doesn't come on again.

:slorsnis: "let'see whats past the sockhole."

:kloldril:"Me and Oubliss will stay at the front then." The passage beyond the sock hole has THREE doors in it and doesn't go any further. the closest one to us is just a stone archway that goes out to what looks like a cold night time scene, it seems familiar? The one past that looks like candle light is coming from it and has some doors we can just walk under if we wanted to, and the one way at the back looks like some kind of red metal door. Should we look in any of them or should we go try somewhere else first? I don't trust doors any more now, after all this mess.
No. 951697 ID: 9e04c9

Let's also check out the south path first. So, turn around and turn left at the intersection.
No. 951704 ID: b1b4f3

Yeah let's explore the other path for now.
No. 951727 ID: 83bf07

Does that night time doorway lead to that forest you went through earlier?

File 157663393532.jpg - (308.24KB , 1000x800 , itw29.jpg )

:kloldril: The doorway doesn't go to the forested place. It looks like dunes of ash with some spires off in the distance..
"Let's check out the other path before going through any doors"

There's only one more path we haven't been down. There's a room on it that looks like an empty pit, and it keeps going after that. Should we check it out further, investigate the pit room, or do something else?
No. 951798 ID: b1b4f3

Check out the end of this corridor, it looks like it opens up?
No. 951803 ID: 83bf07

You're bolds! You investigate! To the pit!
No. 951816 ID: 9e04c9

Only have a look at the pit room, but otherwise keep going down the corridor.

*looks at inventory*
Hmm, how about lower a lantern on a rope to see what's down there? It will also double as a way to tell if climbing down is possible.
No. 951848 ID: 9e04c9

We have a flare gun for these purposes. But even if we saw something down there, we couldn't get to it - it looks too deep.

Continue in the corridor.

:kloldril: we lower a light down there but it reaches the end of both ropes and still doesn't touch the bottom! Should we throw anything in it or go see what is down the hall?
No. 951969 ID: 9e04c9

Throw one of the coins and listen in on the echo. The continue in the corridor.
No. 951970 ID: b1b4f3

Hmm, I see a dark spot within the lantern's light. Can you verify that?
No. 951971 ID: b1b4f3

Well that'd give us an indication of how deep it us, but I worry that there might be something dangerous at the bottom we don't want to disturb.
Also we could throw something less valuable/useful than coinage.
No. 951974 ID: 83bf07

Let's go back. Nothing here for us here.

:kloldril:"Somebody come here and toss a coin down this hole, I wanna see if"
:oubliss: "DONE"

:kloldril:"SHH we need to see how long it takes to hit the bottom."

... we listen for a bit, but nobody hears it hit the bottom
No. 952064 ID: b1b4f3

Yeah why don't we just step away from the bottomless pit now.
No. 952070 ID: e7848c

This is an excellent hole for throwing things down. Let's gather up our stuff and head back to the corridors.
No. 952071 ID: b1b4f3

...hmm it's actually a little tempting to throw in the things we have that are related to Mysterious Devices, but I also feel like we might want to keep those to use against him somehow later.

:kloldril: We yell into it but there's no response, and I don't think we should throw more stuff into it now. There's only one way we haven't checked out yet. It turns left at the end, then goes a little way and turns left again. And again, and again.. Just as I think we've been going in a circle, it opens out into a big empty room. This looks like it might be a good place to rest, unless there's somewhere better through any of those doors
No. 952220 ID: b1b4f3

Yeah resting here could be a good idea, as this place seems empty of hostiles and you need to wait for two of your party to recover from mind-altering chemicals.
Are you tired though? How long has it been since you last rested?
No. 952226 ID: 9e04c9

Camp. And have dreams about the newly born sock.

Maybe practice shooting or something as well.
No. 952229 ID: 83bf07

:kloldril: We practice a bit with the weird crossbow. Well, me and Oubliss do anyway. Slorsnis takes off her clothes and goes immediately to sleep and Tronklis is still standing there.
:oubliss: "Don't you want to go to sleep"
:tronklis: "no"
:oubliss: "Why not? Don't you feel tired?"
:tronklis: "no"
:oubliss: He doesn't even care if I mess with his ear or anything, he's just standing there acting weird. Maybe we shouldn't have poked him with that thing? Hopefully it will wear off. He doesn't do anything no matter where I poke him!

Should anyone try to sleep with anything particular ? Do we have questions to try to ask?
No. 952298 ID: 094652

"Do we still remember what home was like? Do you think we could conquer the world with what we have, or should we get some more books?"
No. 952300 ID: b1b4f3

I'm guessing "questions" refers to speaking to Ideations and asking them things.

Yes, there is something we need to ask: should we keep ahold of the objects affiliated with Mysterious Devices? The cog pendant and music box, specifically. Not sure the music box is as special as the pendant but it can't hurt to ask. Would it be better if we threw those things down the bottomless pit?
Also, we can try to get some information on where those doors lead. We have some information on the zones thanks to our darkness-lurking friend, so we can pick a benevolent or rewarding area to go to next instead of picking mostly blindly.

As for who to speak to... IIRC the only reasonable choices we have are Non Contiguous Connectiveness(the golden cutebold), and Things that Move In Darkness. Speaking to Mysterious Devices is a terrible idea since he's either lied or told half-truths to lead us astray.

I say talk to NCC again, and along with the other questions(though honestly we can ask any of the non-MD Ideations quesitons like these), tell her you know that you can't release her without releasing everything else, so you have to somehow deal with the abomination beforehand. Is it within your power to kill it? Can you do SOMETHING so that it's less of an absolutely awful idea to destroy the Labyrinth? And what about the other Ideations? Aren't the other ones a bit... hostile?
No. 952302 ID: b1b4f3

Oh right I just remembered we have to pick items to focus on while going to sleep to contact Ideations. I don't think we have any monster parts anymore that would work to contact TtMiD.
Hmm, maybe someone should focus on one of those items we got from the forge workers? That zone must've been associated with an Ideation due to its strong theme, and we know it's not MD.
Pretty sure Tronklis is the only one that can contact NCC without an item and I don't think we have anything associated with that Ideation... Maybe the weird coins?

Hmm, while Tronklis is drugged up and shielded from mental influence, maybe he can "read" more items? Maybe he could give us more options for contacting Ideations.
No. 952312 ID: 9e04c9

Oubliss should sleep with the golden cookie. Kloldril should sleep with the music box. And Slorsnis is already sleeping with the socks.

As for the questions, I dunno. Depends on who we meet I suppose. What's the golden cookie used for? Which way to The Old and Forgotten? What happened to Cmdr James Misjizdran Misfortune?

>Speaking to Mysterious Devices is a terrible idea
On the contrary. Don't you know the saying to keep your enemies closer?

:oubliss: Tronklis doesn't really care if his nose is squozen, I'll sleep next to the music box, what am I trying to do with it again? I don't want to talk to the machine thing.
:tronklis: I mess with the gold cookie, and it pops open? what exactly should I do with it, or should I try to use the monster tooth again?
No. 952423 ID: e7848c

I'm going to assume that Tronklis isn't going to to sleep until way late. Is there anything we can make him do while he's under the effect of that syringe? I don't think we have any madness inducing objects to mess with.
No. 952424 ID: e2e5d0

We should touch Slorsnis's butt. It's so extremely touchable. Also, take off one of her socks and put it on Tronklis's ear.
No. 952433 ID: b1b4f3

Try sleeping with the crown.
No. 952437 ID: 9e04c9

The music box helps with sleeping. Of course it only works if you turn off the lights. Like in that one game...
The dead adventurer had both the cogwheel necklace and the music box. If they only wanted to contact MD, then the cogwheel would've been enough. So maybe the music box is for something else. But if we get MD anyway, then hey, at least we can ask it what the music box is for.

Watch the watch. Point it in random directions. Shake it. Listen to it. Wound it up. See how well it balances on Slorsnis' butt...

Oh, we still have the teeth? I thought they were used up since they weren't in our inventory the last time we saw it. Anyway, I dunno if I'd want to use the teeth again. It was pretty scary the last time. It would probably be safe for Kloldril tho since he's already done it once.

:oubliss: Me and Kloldril go to sleep after messing with the gold clam thing, and making the music thingy play. I sleep next to the crown for good measure, listening to the plin-plin-plonks of the little music maker...

We are all a weird animal! We're on a rock floating in the sky, but there's way too many stars around! We can sniff and snuffle! There's a thing moving in the distance, reminds me of those things we saw in the tunnel. There's some kind of evil ball in the sky as well, I don't like to look at it!
No. 953072 ID: 1f2e83

Well first off better eat those mushrooms.
No. 953074 ID: b1b4f3

No. 953101 ID: f2320a

GRONK also there is a ribbon? Is the shrooms good?

:oubliss:There is a ribbon, it is MINE! We gronk but mine comes out more of a "hornp!" The mushrooms don't taste like anything because this isn't real. The machines come out of the hole, go through the sky up to a magic castle where they stop, but then they go down the rails some more and CRASH into a floating rock! There's a moon there too...

:oubliss:"Are you asleep?"
:oubliss: He is still acting weird. Either way, we need to decide on what to do next.

Looks like we didn't manage to contact anyone.

Head to the hallway with the doors. Peek through the lit one.

:oubliss: I poke my nose under the door and it's a little room in there. There's some tall chairs, and a guy is sitting in one of them with a long cloak on. He doesn't seem to notice me
No. 954513 ID: b97d8a

If you can fit through there, do so. But make sure you bring the crossbow in with you in case you need to defend yourself.
No. 954516 ID: b1b4f3

I wonder what happens if you crawl into there without technically opening the door?
...well nevermind, one of the "doors" here is just an open doorway so the rules must be less specific than that. I think the door by the arcade machine tried to transition the area when we tried to unlock it, but the key didn't work so it failed. Area transitions probably trigger via any successful interaction with a door, which might include throwing items through. We could test that now?

But yeah let's go in and say hello to the person. That's the first non-machine individual we've seen aside from the foundry workers! Maybe they can even talk?
No. 954522 ID: 404f0f

Tronklis should enter and sit next to the guy while the rest of the team stays behind and cover him.

:oubliss: The room looks fairly small, it looks like it’s lit inside by a lantern, and there’s a bunch of bottles and cups on a shelf. I think I can see a mirror behind them? Hard to see much from here. “Tronklis go see “ I whisper.
:oubliss: He goes up to the tall chair and stands there, and the guy speaks. I can’t see him very well at all, but there’s something strange and a bit frightening about him.

“Hey there, little fella, why don’t you come up and have a seat?”
His voice is low, and quiet. Tronklis doesn’t say anything but makes a grunt noise

“Not much of a talker, are you? Well, that’s fine. Better’n the rest of them. Two liars, an animal and somebody who can’t say nothing hasn’t already been said. How about a drink?”

:oubliss:Tronklis is just standing there like a log with a nose on it.
:slorsnis: “I wanna drink, too, I’m gonna go see”
:oubliss: Tronklis is still standing there! Why doesn’t he do anything? Should I grab Slorsnis or let her go?
No. 977415 ID: b1b4f3

Well this place seems friendly enough, let's go in. Make sure to find out how much the drink costs and if your currency will work.
No. 977427 ID: 094652

Keep a close eye on the exit. If it looks crowded, make an excuse and leave.
No. 977429 ID: b1b4f3

Oh! This guy is referring to the Ideations!
Two liars- Devices and someone else, an animal- Things that Move In Darkness, and of course Non Contiguous Connectiveness who can't say anything that hasn't been said before.

So yeah, either this is an Ideation, or someone who knows a lot about them, and either way we have lots of questions for him. Just uh, be careful what you look at in here. Maybe you shouldn't look at the "mirror" at all. Ask Tronklis what he sees; he won't speak up on his own.
No. 977436 ID: 4286b4

Let Slorsnis go in. Slorsnis should tell this guy what we're trying to do here.

:slorsnis: I’m going in, I want a taste. “Can I have some?”
“Well hello, ma’am. You sure can. I assume you’re his friend? Surprised you got this far in here, small as you are. Got any more friends with you? ”
:slorsnis: he gives me a glass full of something STRONG smelling. It burns when I drink it, but it feels kinda good! Hmm, what should I say? Should I check out anything else in here? Tronklis is just kinda sitting there staring at his own nose in the mirror, looks like.
No. 977501 ID: b1b4f3

Tell him you've got one more but she's staying outside for now. Not sure if things will change or not if everyone passes the door.
Ask who he is! Ask Tronklis what he sees!
No. 977503 ID: e7848c

This guy seems bug-like. Ask him where he's from
No. 977513 ID: 53560f

Yeah we got a friend outside. Are you exploring this place too?

:slorsnis: Bug like? He looks more worm-y to me. “Where are you from? Are you exploring too? My friends don’t wanna come out, we don’t know what’ll happen if we all go through the door.”

“Well normally I’d just be passin’ through. But this is the Labyrinth, it’s made so you can’t leave. Best thing I can do is try and have conversation. Talking to the mirror gets mighty tiresome after a while, and might be down right dangerous for somebody like you. That’s good that you figured out the doors. This one’s pretty normal, as far as doors go. Not like a lot of ‘em in this place; only one way. Only door leadin’ somewhere else here is a big metal one at the end of one of the halls. I’d stay away from there, though, it’s a bad place. Real hot. Of course, you’d have to go through there unless you wanna set up a home here, some of these places ain’t too bad.”

:slorsnis: I take another glass of the drink! Should I tell them to come out? Should I ask about other stuff?
No. 977530 ID: b1b4f3

You should try not to pass out from drinking too much is what you should do.
Might as well let them in.
Ask what's behind the other doors. What about the scorched pathway?
No. 977534 ID: 094652

Ask about the 'technology' in this place. Some of what you've seen has surpassed your greatest tribal myths about your gods. So how has nobody invented a machine that can simply create a portal out? And why isn't there a mega-city of labyrinth-dwellers collaborating to make this place paradise or something?
No. 977539 ID: a0fd3f

Ask him if he knows any way to plan where you visit next, or go back to places you've been. Could be helpful to know.
No. 977540 ID: 4286b4

So he's a drifter? Ask him about The Old and Forgotten and the mysterious Stranger.
No. 977560 ID: 1e5152

:slorsnis: The others came in while I was talking! “Whyzat nobody’s made a thing to just get out? How come there’s nobody made a town somewhere? There’s a lotta stuff around, to do, do things about.” I feel dizzy

“ Well there’s a couple places you could use to get out, and go to some kind of civilization or another. If you were willing an’ able to do it, that is. But once you’re tied here, things are gonna start going off the longer you’re away. Place is made to pull you back in, and keep you here. I can’t get to any of those places myself, though. The whole thing wouldn’t work if we could get out of it. You see, there’s a dangerous thing it’s meant to contain. I’d say its name, but you probably aren’t up to hearin’ it. It’ll hurt you to say it, that’s for sure.

:oubliss: I pull Slorsnis off the chair, I wanna ask questions! “So can we tell where we’re gonna go next? Can we go back to other places? “

“Well, some places lead back to others. There’s a big city, full of ash and frozen in time, connects to a couple other places here. I wouldn’t recommend you go wanderin’ around there though. It’s real easy to lose your way. There’s another place, kinda similar, but a hot wasteland full of nasty critters. Lots of dust and ash blowing around there. That might be one of the places you can get out, like the dam. You’d need to be prepared to travel for who knows how long without any supplies to be had, though. I seen a creature try it once. Don’t think that one got out.”

He takes a sip of some stinky drink.
:oubliss:”Wait, are you the Stranger? Who’s the Old and Forgotten?”

“looks like you got me figured out, you’re a smart one. The Old and The Forgotten, is, well, represents the dark places, the old ruins and forbidden knowledge. Everything it knows has been forgotten by everybody else, that kinda thing.”

“I almost forgot your other question… now, from here, you can only go through that metal door. Looks like it’s a dead end, if you ask me. This whole thing might be a dead end. Goes to a boat out in the middle o’ nowhere. If you try to go back you’ll just end up right back here.”

:pnpoubliss:He’s lying, there’s always a way to go further

“Well, that one might know, but I wouldn’t trust ‘im not to get you even more lost.”

:oubliss: The voice came from my reflection? Who should I be talking to? I don't know what to ask!
No. 977572 ID: e7848c

Ask your reflection who's awesome. If it doesn't answer "you are" You cannot trust it. Offer the stranger a snack and gather up your stuff to move on.

>That might be one of the places you can get out, like the dam
Hold on, you can escape the Labyrinth from the dam?
No. 977580 ID: b1b4f3

Also wow, we got a twofer. The mirror is Paths and Portals.
Ask PNP which door is safest for your group to travel through, and why.
No. 977609 ID: 4286b4

Oubliss touching Slorsnis' nose like that.. this isn't the time for lewds!

Offer the stranger some chocolate.
Hmm, do we still have the music box? Or did we trade it for the Clipper?

Ask him who the other liar was. Also, ask if that thing that was meant to be kept here can be destroyed. And if the two of them wanna help you do it huehue

:oubliss: I look in the mirror “Who’s awesome?”
:pnpoubliss:”Why you are of course, you and all your friends who have so bravely made it here!”
:kloldril: “Wait wait wait. We could have got out at the dam?”
:pnpoubliss: “Could have, at least for while. That’s one of the spots the Labyrinth intersects the rest of the multiverse. There’s a small town you can even see from it, if you’ve gone the right way, that is.”
:oubliss: “We saw that, I think!”
:pnpoubliss: “You can’t get back there now, of course. You can only go forward from here. The only way to get OUT of here is to free Non Contiguous Connectiveness. She is integral to the working of the Labyrinth, and the only part that can theoretically be dislodged.”
“Much as I’d love to get out here too, doesn’t that also free the problem?”
:pnpoubliss: “You speak only in vagaries, I am the one who opened the doorway and brought these brave souls here! They’ll surely succeed, they’re chosen by fate!”
“I trust you about as far as I can throw you, and since we’re both extradimensional ideational concepts that ain’t too far at all.”
:oubliss: I don’t know what that is. “So there’s a safe way out of here? Where should we go?”
:pnpoubliss: “The way out from here is beyond the metal door. You’ll find yourselves on a ship, but I’m afraid you’ll have to figure it out from there. That section is interconnected with the rest in two places, so there’s definitely a way out.”
“I didn’t hear anything about it being safe.”
:pnpoubliss: “Well it is the safest way out of here.”
:slorsnis:”WHOZAT Other liar you was talkin’ ‘bout?”
“Well one of ‘em’s in this mirror here, and I’m sure Mysterious Devices has tried to catch you by now.”
:oubliss: “Would you like some of this?” I offer some of the chocostuff
“Mighty kind of you, but let me give you somethin instead.”
He reaches under his coat and gives me a big black feather
“Keep this with you, and it’ll let me help you out if you get in some trouble. I still got a few things I can do in here, especially if you run into any of them guys with the gears stuck in ‘em. That’s what Mysterious Devices does to people, you see, once they can’t help him no more.”
:pnpoubliss:”I have said nothing false at all! You’re the one giving out vague notions and folksy platitudes. That overwrought clock does nothing but attempt to enslave or destroy all organic life. That, I can assure you, is truth. He is here to misdirect and attack any heroes who would seek to undo the shackles of this place, and really serves no other purpose.”
:oubliss:”So can we break it? The thing that’s meant to be kept here?”
“If it’s possible to destroy it, I can’t rightly figure out how.”
:pnpoubliss:”The Worldbreaker? Yes. It can indeed be destroyed.”
:oubliss: Minor health damage taken!
:kloldril: Minor health damage taken!

:pnpoubliss: “Oh, I do apologize, just forget you heard that word and don’t say it! Your quiet friend here seems to be unaffected by existential peril, though. Very brave indeed!”
No. 977647 ID: b1b4f3

Sounds like these two just don't like eachother, that's why they're throwing accusations. On the other hand, it's still quite possible PNP is a liar, and just picks its lies carefully.
Anyway, ask that they please call it the abomination from here on, and ask how to destroy it. Even a hint will suffice. Although... we could ask the Crown... probably should do that to verify the correct method, and possibly to help do it when the time comes. So we need to keep two wishes in reserve.
No. 977650 ID: 53560f

Hold up a minute, both Tronklis and Slorsnis weren’t affected by the abomination’s name.
Tronklis isn’t really in a position to think about much right now but how did Slorsnis not get hurt?
Ask about that and also if there’s a cure for what’s happened to poor old Tronk.
No. 977659 ID: fa2754

She might be too sloshed to get hurt by mental damage. Lucky. Our mirrored friend here deserves a drink throw at them for hurting our brains. Ask the strainer if we can have his hat. It's a nice hat..
No. 977660 ID: 4286b4

Pff, a neumono now? I liked the Stranger's original form.

>He is here to misdirect and attack any heroes who would seek to undo the shackles of this place, and really serves no other purpose
Hmm, is this true? Then why did MD say (>>/questarch/860764) that they also wish to escape this prison and wish to help us? I mean, if they wanted to escape, then attacking us doesn't make much sense. Who's the one that's lying? :o

Our friend was given some drugs, so they're not in their right mind at the moment. And neither is Slorsnis heh. Anyway, how can that thing be destroyed? Or do we need to ask The Old and The Forgotten to find out? Also, can the mirror show you anything you want? Can it show Oubliss rubbing her nose?

:oubliss: Slorsnis definitely isn’t paying attention. “How do we destroy it?”
:pnpoubliss:”I don’t know, blow it up or something! There’s enough weapons lying around here, you should find something. It doesn’t matter if you destroy it or not, as long as you break the chains.”
:kloldril: “Tronklis got something poked in his nose, is there a cure? Can The Old Forgotten tell us how to destroy it?”
Give it time, I’m sure it’ll go away. As for the Old and the Forgotten, if anybody else knows, it won’t know. But if nobody else knows it, it’ll know. But it doesn’t give out knowledge that easy. Because if you know something then it won’t.
:slorsnis:”Can I have your hat!?”
“ It wouldn’t fit you, I’m afraid. “

Should we go or ask more questions?
No. 977732 ID: fa2754

Thank both of them for their time. Let's get going.
No. 977733 ID: b1b4f3

Ask why the Stranger looks so blurry in the mirror. Also ask what he's the Ideation of.
No. 977745 ID: 894419

Seems like we have everything we need from here, collect your more out of it friends and lets move on. File "escape without dooming the universe" under maybe.
No. 977752 ID: 4286b4

Thank them for the drink and leave.
No. 977756 ID: 53560f

Before we leave we might as well make it a habit to ask any ideations we meet what they’ll do once they get out.
It doesn’t hurt to know what our new friends will get up to as well as to better understand the malicious ideations.
No. 977824 ID: b1b4f3

Oh, ask what PnP is the ideation of too, and why Stranger says PnP is a liar. What did they lie about?

:oubliss: “how come you’re blurry in the mirror? What’s your deal? Why do you keep calling the mirror one a liar?”

:pnpoubliss:”Because sometimes being completely honest with people is not what’s best for them. Since our Stranger just wanders around aimlessly and only interacts with people when it suits his fancy. I seek only to help travelers explore further than they could ever have dreamed!”

“That’s just one of my attributes. All of us are aspects of a kind of fear, you see. Every society gets advanced enough can end up with us around. Just a matter of having enough thinking folks get together, I guess. Things that Move in Darkness is the oldest, for instance. Represents real primitive people being afraid of animals come around to eat em or what have you. Don’t need much of a society to get that started, now do you? Strange thing is, that never seems to go away, even when people get to traveling the stars. Just a part of life, I suppose.”

:oubliss:”oh, and what are you gonna do if we get out?”

“We’re gonna just do what suits our nature, I suppose. Wandering the multiverse.”

:oubliss: We thank them and decide to go on ahead.
