Nan folds the newspaper back up.
It's heavily burnt and otherwise illegible.

Actually, how do we know that Pablo won't have an "artistic" relapse and accidentally cause whatever he did to his wife to the entire room?

I already voted for Nan to go alone, so think about this: who's going to defend the room and Lorenzo's Eldritch fragment?

Santiago could lose himself to his darkness adaptations.
Pablo could bring the paintings to life.
Kim could be infected and lose herself.
Lorenzo might be taken over by the fragment.

If they work together, they might be able to support one another, or deal with their issues. Your job is to deal with Padre and end this.

Wow...with all these fucking opinions going around, I feel like Weaver is gonna have to ignore them all and make his own decision for once, and not go off consensus.

I really don't know where you get the implication that Pablo actually has any power over paintings or drawings. That was a dream, a nightmare.

If he does discover latent art manipulation abilities, however, I'll do a backflip.

This post brings up a good point- what can anyone do against the Padre? Given what he is, even if nobody had died and they were all in perfect shape, the Padre would win hands down. I second the notion of bringing both. Consider:

-Both seem sincere in their desire to help, but should one go rogue, the other will be there to help Nan deal with him. Should Nan or Kim be alone with the only traitor, she would likely die, and should both be traitors, we're fucked anyway.
-If one stays behind with Kim and the Padre shows up, they both die. If both go with Nan, the three have better odds of dealing with whatever situation arises quickly to get Kim safe ASAP.
-If Kim dies anyway, then having one of the men with her wouldn't have changed that.

That said, let's not forget that panel 466 was http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questarch/res/438515.html#448676. IIRC that hasn't been relevant yet, and I doubt that Weaver would have that happen for no reason. I still say we bring both, but perhaps we should proceed cautiously.

So, Weaver, which will it be?

So it's gone from being a choice between Pablo and Santiago to being one of All or Alone?

I'd like to point out that Nan is NOT actually good at fighting. The only fight she won on her own was in a flashback. She will absolutely need help.

If it comes down to it I'd rather try to convince both to come with than bring neither.

Hold up a second. Why does Kim need watching over? There's nothing that can be done for her right now. I can see Santiago not wanting her to feel alone, I guess, but Lorenzo can keep her company. He's an okay dude. Does Santiago want them to split up for some reason?
>>
No. 635088 ID: 1fbb52

Well fuck it then, I guess. Bring them both, but keep them on a child leash so they don't hurt themselves (or others). I'm pretty sure the Padre can't actually get in here anyway, or at the very least it's going to be difficult as shit for him.

We should give an inspirational little speech saying to let go of thoughts of heroism and revenge, and apologize for nearly allowing such thoughts to drive our previous decision.* Remind them that there is a mission at hand greater than the personal ones of everyone here. Hopefully that'd stabilize them a bit and shake out some of the crazy.
*That decision was mostly out of fear that they both want to go for personal reasons rather than out of necessity. But they don't need to know that.

"Okay, look, there's no time to argue and this isn't just about you or me. Kim can't be left alone with a serious handicap; I need the both of you to decide who should be protecting her, not me. We can't afford to assume the Lightbringer won't try attacking us down here, not when I'm about to stir things up. So either you both keep her safe, or one of you volunteers to keep her safe."

Not to mention, if Padre steals back his missing fragment from Lorenzo while Nan is busy storming his base, they lose. Pablo and Santiago need to defend the base or the already nigh-unkillable enemy will get another instant-win condition.

Actually, make that a vote for taking both. Why not! Offense is the best defense, and frankly we really don't have much of either.
>>
No. 635575 ID: b19c9a

I still have NO idea why people keep voting for both. If anyone remembers, the characters, and by extension Weaver, pretty much said they didn't want to leave Kim and Lorenzo alone, and by taking both, we do just that. I'm pretty sure doing so is not only a dumb idea, but something Weaver doesn't really want to happen, and didn't plan for.
>>
No. 635579 ID: 92261a

Santiago. On the off chance he tries something (which I doubt), it'll be way better if Nan has to deal with it, rather than Pablo. Not only that, but he's handier in a fight than Pablo is.
>>
No. 635589 ID: a8fc76

I changed my mind, Lets take Pablo.

We don't regard him as impactful as Santiago,
but have we interacted as much with him compared to Santiago??

The poor madcap's desperate to do something, why deny him?
>>
No. 635602 ID: f1beae

Well, Looks like Weaver isn't gonna let us go alone. Santiago is incredibly unstable, and I don't trust him not to fuck things up. I'd honestly prefer he hurt Kim or Lorenzo rather than us. Let's go with Pablo.

Well, tallying up those results per character, that's 14 + 5 = 19 votes for Pablo, and 14 + 10 = 24 for Santiago.

Don't forget, a quest author has the right to use any metric they please when deciding the next part of a quest, up to and including "because I feel like it". If you don't like the suggestions being chosen, make a better case for yours and do not whine about what can't be changed.
