[Orpus] Listen, quint, can't you hear it? It's the sound of the Gugnir, isn't it beautiful? We could have been good pals, But you just couldn't let me have my way. Now it's come down to this, what are you going to do?

Pigma must die.

Okay, that much confidence in this situation means he's either crazy, or he actually expects to win. Like he's got a personal shield and is trying to goad you into shooting yourself.

Just punch him in the face, then grab him by the throat, catching him before he falls. Choke him out over the edge.

I kind of assume Rerk sold all our old shit when it became apparent Quint was dead. He did have a family to look out for, after all. (So tragic. We spent all that time figuring out what to get from Regina, and we barely put any of it to use!).

Brief History lesson- It has been sixteen years since the incident with orpus, add another 6 years of hunting with Rerk, Abel and Quint. A long time has passed, and within that time Abel and Rerk got married and have done well enough to move back onto Rerk's home planet.

In that time the cultists eventually re-circulated back to their cult, but it wasn't long before they popped up again.

Also in that time, The Pirate known as Bern was captured and executed. That lead to the Bounty Known as Viper Princess to move into his slot and also to claim his property. Surprisingly this lead to her becoming one of the most feared vendors of the black market which escalated her bombings and made her one of the 4 crimelords of the known galaxies.

In this time, The space station urtz was mysteriously struck by an asteroid damaging small portions of it and leading to it's renovation. There were a handful of stores lost, One in particular was a vendor by the name of Regina Mutsol. It is believed that she is one of the casualties of the asteroid collision. Sadly in it's place the Devourers Cult decided to move in, even though they are highly prejudiced they have a permit.

Ask her why she's glowy.
>>
No. 460626 ID: 4a328b

Haha did she get sentimental or something? xD
Things we need:
A ship--with both shields AND a hyperdrive, we must stress this
A weapon with a non-lethal mode--tell us what you have on this, please. If she pushes for a model ask for something you're comfortable with, like the arena weapon you got last time

Grappling hook with rope,
cuffs for bounties,
broadcasting unit,
compass,
knives,
and a crowbar

and lots of rations [ask for BBQ sauce + honey if you think it'll go over well, I don't think it will, myself. Asking for other flavor additives might work.]

Maybe if there's some kind of armor that defends against GIANT VAPORIZING BEAMS you might want to look into that as well. Maybe more general armor as well, since you don't have the chitinous exoskeleton this time around, y'know? As long as it's easy to move in still.

And lastly--you, Regina! As a sponsor.

[Deave] I dunno... I would need to think about it a bit, BODY ARMOR- I need body armor!

[GlowingWoman] um sure, yeah i could put in armor also... but you are too small for what I have, i'd have to tailor one for you. I've got this little diagram for you to draw on in case you want to put on a costu- ... i mean to say a custom design.

Does being sponsored mean we're affiliated with them, or that we have some sort of contract with them, or what?

We're planning to off their "god", so if being sponsored by them is going to make our reputation as a bounty hunter go down the toilet in the long term or short term we should find an alternative. Like, ANYONE else really. Ask Plipper for a recommendation.

[Deave] How long have you been on the table?

[Constance] ... I don't know...

[Deave] Were you the one screaming earlier?

[Constance] My mouth has been strapped since i was put on there...

[Deave] Who is the 'Her' you just said?

[Constance] she.... oh god... she is like priestess julia... but horrible... a pink priestess who controls all these monsters...

[Deave] Mom, I had a nightmare last night. It was just so bad that i can't seem to go back to bed.

[Abel] Tell me about it.

[Deave] Well it was bad, like I was in this building with a hallway and alot of rooms. Inside the building there were a few monsters, there were some people also.

[Abel] Tell me about the monsters.

[Deave] Well they were masked and had one arm... and sickly thin. And there was this one big one that had two arms, wore some sort of shmock and had... I think it was skin covering its face like a mask.

[Abel] Those sound pretty bad. What kind of people were in this dream?

[Deave] Well there was me, and there was this sharkgirl... I forget her name but she was a sort of yellowy brown color, and there was this pink bunbun girl... she ripped my face open.

[Abel] well I think i might know what's going on. You could be haunted by spirits of mallice.

[Deave] ...like ghosts?

[Abel] My father told me all about evil phantoms and such just in case we were ever confronted with nightmares. He always said that dreams were always a sort of world in which you can commune with the dead, as if they were alive again. You could hold them, talk to them, even love them as if they were flesh and blood.

[Deave] ... what'd he say about a nightmare then?

[Abel] Well he told me that since dreams make the spirits more tangible that evil phantoms would sometimes use this against the living to cause them nothing but pain and suffering.

[Deave] Well what about the monsters and people in my dreams?

[Abel] Those are all the spirits of the dead, the monsters are just those phantoms who take on a hideous shape to represent how terribly they died, and the ones that look like people probably don't realize they are dead or are too attached to what they looked like before their untimely demise.

[Deave] h-how do i stop them from doing this?

[Abel] Most people get an excorsism, which I personally think is a terrible idea because it antagonizes the ghosts. Others put up dreamcatchers which are supposed to make your control over the dreams more fluid. My advise is to make your dream self bigger, meaner, and has more butt-whoopability. But it's up to you what you want to do. Is there anything else I can help you with? You can also ask the genie for some advice.

[Deave] Genie, what's happening to me?

[Genie]...........you have taken on the shape of one of your enemies, it is not uncommon for that to cause their enemies to hunt you down.

[Deave] What are they

[Genie].................. it is as the woman said, the dead wish to harm you.

[Deave] Who are they

[Genie]...................they are those that have been consumed, they are all filled with hate towards the living that you should be cautious when returning to that plane again.

[Deave] Is there any way to combat them, or at the very least to save the not evil ones?

[Genie]................villainy is a concept meant for the living..... all of these phantoms are just filled with strong emotions, especially their leader.

[Deave] ...who is their leader

[Genie]...................... I will take an egg from your breakfast, and there will be a comic book missing from your collection.

[Deave] Very well, but i'm keeping the bacon

[Genie].............her name is mary....... she is damaged but not impossible to save.

[Deave] How do I save them, must I kill this innevitable? I haven't figured out who it is yet.

[Genie] ...........If you want to save them killing the liar is one part of this trial.... You need to quell them, put them into peace.

[Deave] who is the liar, where can I find him.

[Genie] no, this information costs more. You will not learn of this with comic books and food. But my advice to you is that the one known as plipper should stop searching for his lost love.

[Deave]... I'm not sure what you mean, but now about another thing-

[Genie] If you wish to traipse around in the shell of your previous body, it will cost some of your coin and all of your comic books.

[Deave] but... dang, I really like alot of those.

Think for a minute Deave. You unconsciously changed to resemble who your target is. Do you know anyone who resembles you who also does very bad things to their dead, causing strong emotions? Say an unpopular cult maybe, that eats people? Devours them even? Someone who resembles you closely enough to be a bunbun?

In short, you already know sort of who it is. Their name is just a detail. You know who to follow to find them, and you can find where they are. What you don't know is how to kill them, or why they're doing it. But who it is? You don't need to ask Genie about that!

There are two ways you can go about learning more about your target now, which will teach you how to kill them. First is to stalk the cult, which is difficult because they recognize your shape. What you need isn't some old dead shell you once were, but a disguise to keep them from suspecting you. Second is to master your dreams, because since the spirits of the dead think you're him they're going after you, so if you can defeat them then you can find out what they know about him.

[Deave]...can you tell me more about what you're going to do? Am I getting my old body back? Will both my bodies be interchangeable?

[Genie]............no. It is not that you are getting a body, it is that you are going to temporarily dwell in a form that is a copy of your old one. It is not permanent in that it will look like you and sound like you but will dissipate once you are finished with your task.

[Deave] ...that doesn't sound like it'll last long.

[Genie] It will send your current form into a trance like state and your spirit will travel to the copy that i send there. Once you are done the copy will cease to exist and your spirit will return to this body.

[Deave] oh... and you want my comic books for that?

[Genie] and some of your coin.

[Deave] ...i'll think about it, it's one of those things I don't want to do just yet. Also I think i can figure out a way to track down my current target.

[Abel] Hello honey, before that i was wanting a little personal time of my own. I've got a miniskirt on~

[Rerk] Okay deave, i need to run some schooling through you to start off with gun safety for this thing. This is a bullet for the big rifle, It's called a heavy tank buster. It's a ten-eighty five caliber slug, which means it's plenty dangerous. Now caliber is the size of the bullets diameter in an inch. Can you guess how big this bullet is?

[Deave]... big... i dunno- um .185?

[Rerk] Well you got the general idea of smaller bullets for tiny pistols, but this is more a 1.085 diameter bullet.

[Deave] ... why's it look like that at the top?

[Rerk] It is specially designed to cookie cut holes through heavy tank armor. The design supposedly punches a hole through steel and admantium, and can put a big dent into vibro-admantium.

[Deave] cool

[Rerk] Now the gun here is made completely out of Hardiik compound metal, this is a sort of amalgam metal made from admantium and a space rock that has a zero gravity field around it. If this were to be made from any other time of metal, it'd be too heavy for me or your mother to lift.

[Deave] also cool

[Rerk] So, you ready to try it out?

I dunno, depending on the information we get out of it it might be worth it. We should let Regi know that we won't be back if we do decide to go with and meet with her, if for no other reason than to avoid paying the price for the costume a second time when we've got a perfectly trustworthy body hopping around still.

As a one time cost for a one time chore, I can see it working. If we need to do it MORE than once the price becomes too steep.

Imagine an onyx-like material so strong, even the concentrated force of a sledgehammer the size of the moon falling on it could not crack it. That material coats you in a sheet of armor like a second skin. It is thick but also flexible. You can see through it to the outside world, but no one outside can see through it to you. You can mold it to your will, so that your right hand switches between hand form and lance form, and your left hand switches between hand form and shield form. It also greatly enhances your strength, like power armor. It has no seams or air holes; air is supplied by a tank in the back that magically refills itself with fresh air at a steady rate, carbon dioxide is magically teleported away. It also has an antimagic field around it that also deflects elemental energies.

[Deave] Hoof, okay... is there a way to save the angry spirits?

[1] Well since your a big and fancy shaman, I shouldn't be telling you should I?

[Deave] I'm not a shaman.

[1] Course you are, or else you wouldn't be able to commune with the dead like you are. I'm so glad you can see me!

[Deave] Well the ghosts are more communing with me then the other way around. Maybe i'm a fledgling shaman?

[1] Well, huh... didn't know it worked like that.

[Deave] Can you tell me how it does work then?

[1] Well it's been hundreds of years so things might have changed, plus i haven't seen a shaman or a druid in over 500 years so all my knowledge is out of date.

[Deave] Tell me anyway.

[1] well it first starts off with elders reigning in the new spirit talkers. They are given a guardian spirit to watch over them and pretty much pass them wisdom and teach them the trade they had in life. Shaman pupils usually have a small collection of guardian spirits to guide them and sometimes help them in combat. The shaman can't be a weak willed individual around stronger or melevolent because then the ghost would just start destroying the shamans mind making the shaman crazy and forcing them to do horribly unspeakable things. I once fought a spirit who's shaman was wearing the skins of his people and roaring like an animal.

[Deave] Is there any way to save the spirits? Or the people who are possessed by them?

[1] You gotta sort of tame them... make them calm, that way they will just sort of adapt and return to the cradle of creation.

[Deave] What's that?

[1] You are one bad shaman if you don't know what the cradle is. I thought that wierd wish master was your gaurdian spirit, he seemed pretty hostile when I was trying to come by yesterday. Well anyway, your current wiseman should be sharing this stuff with you and the youth of your village. Is your family some sort of black sheep of the tribe?

We aren't a part of any tribe, we're off worlders originally. The reason he hasn't meet any shaman in 500 years would probably indicate that the specific culture probably died out a while ago. As for the genie as far as we're aware he's sort of a family totem we use for advice and has never indicated anything about spirits or shaman. I wonder if this spirit would like to be our guardian spirit or could recommend one since it sounds like being untrained as we are is very dangerous.
>>
No. 464819 ID: 44f93b

We're not much of a tribe. My mother and father and I aren't even the same species! And oddly enough, I'm probably the closest thing we've got to an elder, since I'm a reincarnate. But none of my past lives have been shaman-y, so I've got nothing useful to pass on to myself here.

...I suppose you could see the wish master as a kind of guardian spirit, but the price is generally too high to ask him for anything more than information. And even that has a cost.

[1]...

[Deave] I'm not originally from here so we know nothing of what it used to be. But from what i have experienced the land is well advanced, it could be that there has never been a shaman. The genie is sort of a family totem the my mother picked up aswell.

[1]...

[Deave] Here's an idea, how about you become my spirit guide, because it sounds as if it'd be too dangerous to not have one.

[1] Hah, well you think you got the gusto to have me tagging with you? Why not, I'm way too not busy to stay alone forever.

[Deave] It might help me figure out what is going on and how to be a better shaman... i guess.

[1] Well as long as you don't mind a few cosmetic changes to your appearance I don't mind being your guide!

[Deave] by giving me claws and teeth?

[1] It's called communing, your body changes to better connect with your spirit guide or guides. If you had another spirit with you it'd be different with different features. Multiple spirits together can make you more ... uh... connected to them. It's a thing, just trust me. Don't worry, you're not turning into a lizard.

The dead broke the laws- showing me the a truth that is to be, or showing me a false truth. I can do nothing about that.

As for death- my friend is mortal, and will die some day. My saving her from a premature or terrible end will not prevent this.

[2] Then so be it, Watcher Asheron shall be your second.

[Deave] Is that some other spirit or something?

[2] It is just folklore that calls us genies and wishmasters. We are really spirits that have been around since the dawn of creation. The gardeners of eden, we were created with the ability to change the gods creation in order to better attend to the mortals that dwelled upon it.

[Deave] That... sounds pretty neat

[1] I don't get it.

[2] We are but an extension of power, just like the young one is the sword of discipline so am I being the hands of caring.

[Deave] I will need to tell mom that you're coming with me.

[2] Have no fear, I can be in many places at once. Just like you I am directly connected to the rare matrim orphum which grants us our soul.

[Deave]... I have no clue what that is.

[2] Both of you will learn many things in the next night, but at the now You are sentry to whether you wish to go to your destined meeting with a friend or to spend this day with your family.

[Deave] Why's that?

[2] The task of the wish will consume the day, your body will be put into stasis as I send your essence into the vessel which I have prepared for you. When your family come to question, I will comfort them, but i cannot convince them of the truth of what you are for they will not believe me or anyone due to their closed minds. So now choose, what will this day be used for. If you delay, fate will kill her in a different way.

I have a different question: Was Plipper destined to die? If I remember correctly, we saved him on our own, despite the high price you asked to save his life. This was without future knowledge. Did we defy destiny there somehow?

If we said the right thing here just by looking at her past, would she still die? Would we have to directly intervene using future knowledge to prevent her death?

I would be okay with not being responsible for her committing suicide, at least, and her dying for some other reason. If it's really her time to die, so be it. I just want to make her happy at least before it happens.

the frog child was saved because it was his fate to live on. The price was not expensive at all, there has once been an army who sacrificed itself just to save one man.

The reason this is so different is that you do not have an army, or at the very least the protagonist of this drama does not.

But You do. Someone must die, but you- the ones who are reading this and pondering the thought- you do have the right payment for this.
I will make this an easy one for you, If you wish for metatron to be hounded by the lords of justice and to save this woman- say so. If you wish to watch as she dies, then say that. And if you do not want either, then say this.

Three simple choices, but in the end someone does die, permanently.

Guys you're being fatalistic about Regi's demise

Apparently it doesn't HAVE to happen...

Its not like we can't keep her after she dies! If those other dead guys can stick around, I see no reason she can't stick around too!

wait until "end cutscen" to post.

[Quint] Me? ...do you know what love even is?

[Regina] I have no idea, but we could try?

[Quint] ........i'm sorry, truth is i don't have long in this body myself.

[Regina] So... okay, i actually didn't think it'd be that easy.

Quint grabs regi and they hug.

[Regina] I just wanted to be happy, like i don't want to die alone... and even though you kept picking on me I felt sorta okay with life.

[Quint] hmmmm

[Regina] I don't think i can take anymore of anything... people treated me like I was some faceless person, the church included... you didn't though...

[Quint] After I leave, what will you do?

[Regina]... i dunno... maybe return to the main church and go be a sacrifice or something

[Quint] Why choose to be suicidal?

[Regina] because i'm not worth shit, my social skills are terrible and no man wants me cus i'm a snarky bitch. Everything seems to make me angry or scared... why can't the rest of my life be like right now.

[Quint] Are you happy?

[Regina] it's close enough, happiest i could really ever be i guess.

[Quint] I'm sorry for what you been through, but at least your happy now.

[Regina]yeah, ya know i tried to cut my wrists when everyone thought you died?

[Quint] tried?

[Regina] well, turns out I don't like the sight of blood.

[Quint] I saw something in a dream, where you were so sad you killed yourself. I don't want that to happen, but it seems your going to kill yourself anyway-

[Regina]wait, please... just... okay. Will you miss me?

[Regina] I'm okay with this... tell that bunny kid his stuff is already in.

[Quint] Will do.

[Regina] You are the best friend I never had... than-

[Quint].........your welcome.

Well, no, not exactly, but fairly close. At least we spared her from getting raped and eaten, sheesh.

Still, that must've been hard for Metatron to do- to off one of his friends like that, even if it was in the spirit of mercy.

quick note, there was no right or wrong answer. the choices were keep regi and go into being hounded by the next tier of innevitables, say no to regi giving her system shock and making her kill herself, killing off another quest character, genie stuff, or killinf off one of my quests. As this points out there were many ways to approach this situation, you could have even changed the outcome right at greetings.

Ok, now shepherd her soul into a new body where you can watch over her.

That IS why you stabbed her, right?

>or killing off one of my quests
how the fuck were we supposed to know that was a choice? don't make ways out of a situation that only some kind of old fashioned adventure game wiz could of divined. like needing to burn a peice of paper on a certain color candle making it turn into a magic ash that can be throw in the water to get a key for the door. NO ONE COULD FUCKING GUESS THAT SHIT!!

I mean find a body for some girl that's about the same age as your bunny form, but comatose or otherwise unoccupied, and fix its problem while putting Regi into that.

I think this is the part where he "said" another quest would work.
>the ones who are reading this and pondering the thought- you do have the right payment for this.
To be honest, I thought it meant for someone to give up their ability to suggest in any chirps quest; the only reason I didn't suggest myself was because I almost never suggested in this particular quest anyways.

Let her float around in the nether as quote "a happy little ghost"

That sounds adorable
Who wants Regi to be a ghost?
[I do!]

I think it went well. Besides this reality has a known afterlife and deities. Takes a lot of the sting out of death if you know they will be fine somewhere else
