>Might want to pass that key along to Kyorto. Do you still have that key?
RIGHT, THE KEY.... that's still on the same floor as Jezebel's lab. If she IS there, rather than at dinner... ah...
>Yeah might not want to do that.
>Could end rather terminally.
>She does not dick about with the violence, does she?

>[Falcon]Ultimate Paradox Number One: Ulzrick remembers Jojo not being able to use dream magic when they met on account of still having his legs.
Wha-
>[Falcon]Ultimate Paradox (that makes everything(except Ulzrick) better): Ulzrick remembers Mordre teaching him Dream magic instead of Jojo
Wait, everyone BUT me? Why-
>[Falcon]!DING! HE ALTERED THE DREAMEATER'S MEMORIES!!!
What, who did-wait, you mean I did, or that other-
?[Falcon] but is that possible? And what the heck was all that about figment living with a dreameater? Do they have some kind of agreement? Is figment simply dreaming himself still having the energy it eats while it remembers eating everything? Wouldn't that attract more dreameaters? Wut?!?!
WHY ARE YOU THE ONE ACTING CONFUSED WHAT THE DEEP ARE YOU RAMBLING ABOUT!
>No wait, I think he might be onto something-wait, who's Figment?
>Didn't someone mention something about a dream dude named Figment?
>[Falcon] Only one way to know for sure! [CALLING FIGMENT! HEY BRO, SOMETHING TOTALLY INTERESTING IS GOING ON OVER HERE]
>Wait we can call other Dreamers? I didn't know that!
.....
>We can't.
>....Ah.
...Okay, so one of the voices in my head is insane? Uh... okay?
>>269010
>I am reasonably certain that getting Jezebel to a mental state where she sleeps with you regularly should be a high priority here. More so than trivial things like magic and survival which can take second seat to regularly getting mindblowingly awesome sex.
Yes, okay, sane voice, I can work with this! Yes, that is VERY much so a goal.
>Hate that you get to hog all the body control, we just get the same sensory perception as facets of you.
>Heh, you weren't complaining last night!
>True enough.
> Considering that she made the first approach while drunk last time, how's this for a cunning plan: Get her drunk again. Start having sex. While having sex, make her more sober a little bit at a time with your fantastic dream powers, culminating in her being completely lucid and willingly sleeping with you. Go from there.
....Okay. I can grasp your plan, it makes sense, but I see a flaw: Wouldn't she be EXCEPTIONALLY leery of me bringing her drinks, especially after last night?
>Yeah I could see that being an issue.
>Pssh, just use that Reality Redaction, Dream Recollection, whatever to make it work.
>Because that would be a good idea?
>Hey, if it's in pursuit of a noble goal!
>>Might want to pass that key along to Kyorto. Do you still have that key?
>This is actually an interesting question. He made the key following something which now never happened, so does it still exist where he put it? Certainly, his memories still seem to be intact after their restoration... but, for example, the boot that he retrieved with dream powers? Gone along with the timeline that he left it in. Maybe the fact that he rewrote reality in such a way that the key was to have been placed there prior to last night will mean that it's still in place.
...A bit wierd how you used pronouns there me, but actually yeah, that is a good question. ...First, you care to weigh in?
>...The point raised is a valid and highly applicable one. You can inadvertantly unravel past reality warping in such a fashion... but the key should still be present. It was unrealited, outside of reality redaction, to any other use of Dream, and so while other things have changed the timeline itself, from Ulzrick's perspective, that is still a recalled past event.
>Do you enjoy making no sense?
>He obviously has to.
>>Do I have any explanation about these... EXTERNAL voices I hear?
>Perhaps this Anchor bit has something to do with it. Might inquire with the other Ulzricks if they ever heard the other voices.
>Well its not like we get out and go other places, how would I know?
>Yeah, kinda pointless question.
And THIS is why I still have trouble accepting the whole 'I am not insane' bit.
>>What, I like the other voices, they're great!
>You're too kind.
>...Did one of those other voices just talk to us?
>I think?
>>Argue all the damn time, can't come to a decision, they piss me off!
>Hey, look on the bright side: You only have to live with us SOME of the time. We're inflicted on one another incessantly!
>Oh dear us that is BAD. No wonder there's ones like that Falcon...
>>269020
>Peeling the Reality Onion
>....hey, that's kinda nice...
> As to why you can hear us and other anchoring Ulzricks can't, it must have something to do with the reason why you were able to enter the Dream and other anchors can't. There aren't many things that are certifiably unique in the multiverse, but obviously you're one of them now. It may have something to do with your fight with Mordre. Remember, you didn't really hear us until that day, ages ago, when you trained against the Mage's golem. What happened that day? You handled the morphic weapons, you decided to fight the golem by bending the rules a little, and you sought counsel on if you should share the weapons with the most promising of your fellow militiamen. It wasn't until you decided to fight the golem with your all, and you sought counsel on how to do it, that you heard us.
While that's the moment the difference manifested, we were already around. We've flitted from mind to mind here, though none can hear us as clearly as you and the aforementioned mage that called us chaos things. So something changed in you to both hear us, and to make you an anchor able to move about. Perhaps Anchor-Ulzricks are inherently Orderly, and by taking a step to be somewhat deceitful you shifted enough toward Chaos to hear us, and to be able to enter the Dream. I wonder why no other anchors have become more chaotic?
>.....Woah.
Okay wait, hold on.... alright, let's just SAY I believe you are... Chaos things? Really?
>No, I think it may be telling the truth.
...So, Chaos and Order are capital letter things then, I'm assuming?
>You do not know? Then allow me to correct that: All energy, magical and mundane alike, can be assigned attributes, varying levels of Chaos and Order to their existence-or so say the few practitioners of this Art I have ever met, if not in so few words. What matters is that Chaos is unique to a reality, while Order spans realities. Ulzrick is indeed a rather particularly Orderly existence on an innate level, its part of what makes us the multidimensional entity we are. I also know that opposing forces conflict, while like forces conjoin-if you behaved chaotically by a significant margin, and there were... 'Chaos things' nearby, then yes that could draw them to you. As to why other Anchors are not so chaotic, Anchors are particularly receptive to Ulzrick's collective psyche, the deluge of data thrown their way normally makes them desire externally peaceful lives, which is inherently Order inclined.

>[DREAM RECOLLECTION SKILL UP]
>[DREAM RECOLLECTION SKILL UP]
I cobble together a fiendish plan, a tri-reality redaction, where each change feeds on and empowers the other. I remember my last spar with Vespinto yesterday morning (which he won AGAIN, now four in a row since I beat him a few times), and I recall us parting on more pleasent terms, him not seeing me as an impediment to his own growth, but as an obstacle to struggle against to effect growth, a comrade in the pursuit of martial might. At the same time, I imagine Eisenhardt, the ever-present floating specter for the last while, paying a bit more attention to our fight-taking note of my use of Magnetomancy. So much attention that not only did he take note of my meager talents in his field of expertise, but he pondered taking me on as an apprentice-I know I heard Arkus talking about how pushy the guy is for him to be his apprentice, surely that's still true. Dream begins to funnel from my body in droves and-
>You jump immediately into an INTERWOVEN REALITY REDACTION FOCUSED ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
I perceive the Dreameater again, once more a transparent ghost in my view as I feel substance to those recently imagined recollections, as my reality overwrites that which came before. I see that skeletal shape, its front covered with cracked, eternally breaking and reforming clay, its eyes and bones smoldering with the heat of a forge as its blade ripples like the moon's reflection. Okay, trying to dick about with people is more paradox-ridden than messing with things. Good to know. And good to learn through nonfatal means. Building on my last experience, I jauntily ignore the beast as it snuffles about, and stride on over to the mess hall. After all, I have a dinner meeting with Vespinto and Eisenhardt, to talk about making blades, in which he may approach me as a student. ...Let's do this.
I push open the doors to the barracks and-
>[Vespinto]"HEY, ULZRICK, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE, YOUR BEER'S GOING FLAT MAN!"
I do a double-take at the open, genial smile on the diminutive Vespinto's face behind the Dreameater's wraith-and Eisenhardt seated at his side, both with half-finished plates and several empty steins before them. ...Uh... okay, they clearly think I'm their friend now, so the reality rewrite worked... but why don't I remember being so familiar with them? I mean, all I have is the memories I used for the redaction. ...Maybe redaction doesn't autofill my memory, since in some ways I've never done what I make become the past? ...Fuck, this power is confusing, could go for some answers, but hey, Dreameater. So, with a veritable axe hanging over my head, faking being close friends with others only too willing to believe it is going to be a piece of cake. I sit down, and I do what I can to let them do the talking, so I can build more on my shaky relations to what is now reality. ...This is going to take getting used to.

>SO SPEAKS SEVEN
Thankfully, I am playing the part of attentive audience when a voice calling itself Seven rises in my mind, and speaks at length to me... I fear it to be a comparable entity within my psyche to the Falcon... I blink as I realize a question was asked of me. Okay, okay, what did Eisenhardt say-METAL, oh okay so we're at the forging part.
"I didn't catch that."
>[Eisenhardt]"The din is somewhat appalling, so though I detest repeating myself, I shall make an exception. I said, do you have any metal items of personal worth you would not mind giving up? Family trinkets, lucky coins, any metal could be offered-your friend Vespinto has some totems of famous swordsmen of the past, made by his grandfather, as well as his own and his father's coin collection-such metallic contributions will make the blades I make far more in tune with him."
[Vespinto]"I'm a bit concerned, this guy's got the barest looking bunk you've ever seen-is there anything else that could work for a bit of a boost?"
>[Eisenhardt]"Well short of a magically imbued alloy, there would still be the precious metals-gold, silver, platinum-that could contribute, as well as gems. Rarely tinted precious metals, blue gold or black silver, what have you, would be exceptionally useful, but...."
>[Vespinto]"Yeesh, I see why you didn't mention them before, a bit blue blood?"
>[Eisenhardt]"Considering such unique precious metals are hoarded by the Mortal Coil and wealthy enough nobles everywhere, I cannot deny the description. Still, would it wound you so to employ at least some level of decorum, swordsman?"
>[Vespinto]"I don't know, would it hurt so much to take that stick ou-"
"HAHA, OKAY, well, funny thing, but-"

>[DREAM RECOLLECTION SKILL UP: USING REALITY REDACTION NO LONGER FEELS ALIEN]
The Dreameater that had almost turned its back to me after that final burst from the one called seven, turns about to appraise my general vicinity again, looming as it does so. Come one, be worth it, prevent a fight and let me make this awesome reality where my co-worker doesn't hate me and is my bro, and the big-ass super famous Magnetomancer is seriously thinking of making me his student
"Now that you mention that, I recall seeing something that could be that."
>[Eisenhardt]"Could you be any more vague?"
"I'll specify: When I was a militiaman with Mordre when he first took the Arcanoworks, I remember seeing some really strangely colored metal in the ground. About a second after I saw it, some dirt and melted cannonfire landed on it, so I didn't think about it until now... but that could be something, right? I mean, if you weren't looking for it, would you have found something like that?"
>[Eisenhardt]"Well it depends on the size and magnetic properties of whatever metal you saw, and how close the cannonfire was to it, once the earth settled. AA scale of possible scenarios would allow it to be undetected... interesting. Do you recall where you saw it specifically?"
"You know, now that we're talking about it, yeah, I think I could find it again."
We look down at the table: We've eaten enough, and after draining our last steins, we set off, me leading the way, the Dreameater semi-visible no matter where I look as I lead the thankfully no longer bickering duo to the main gates. Now, where was it I imagined that...
Crap, I forgot the stable had been built there. ...Okay, well it's an earth floor, this could still work.
"Well, there WAS a blank patch of earth here before-"
>[Eisenhardt]"If it is within I can find it, an area that small could not hide any secret from me."
And so with my personal Dream-reaper still haunting my vision, Vespinto and I follow Eisenhardt into the storehouse. I feel that wierd pile of everything, like a scrambled mass of magnetism, from the Paradox Knight's metal horse-
>[Eisenhardt]"...Of course he stalled his horse above it. Well, you certainly saw something, I can sense something strange, wrapped in melted shrapnel, basic steel, so until I get at it, I can't say just WHAT it is.... and I'd rather not try too hard to make Ser Reinhardt's mount move. ...I've never been good with animals, so would either of you like to try moving it?"
Yet before we can do anything, even respond to him, the metal horse, that spiraled horn and glowing prismatic main flashing in the air leaps completely over the side of the stall-and into the next, before staring at us in obvious interest.
>[Eisenhardt]"...Very well then."
The earth churns and undulates, a tendril uncurling to reveal a warped cannonshell which peels back like a flower, revealing within a light purple metal that feels strange to my senses, just what-
>[Eisenhardt]"....Quite the eye you have."
"My metal identification is still completely self-taught, and my sensory perception isn't that hot beyond positioning-what kind is it?"
>[Eisenhardt]"Self-taught? Why, that-well, what you found can indeed work for a forging.... in fact, it's practically made for such a purpose. This right here is three pounds of Purple Iridium-do I need to explain what it is now that you have a name? Do you know it's properties, why it would be so useful in forging a weapon?"
...He's testing me. This could be it, my chance to prove I should be his student, not just under consideration to be one-a real mage's apprentice.
....I don't know a damn thing about Irdiwhatsit.
Uh.... help?
