It's probably hard to understand one of the bigger downsides of being skilled with polymorph.
"I wanting to try."
Imagine you could be anyone, or anything you wanted with just a thought.
Any race. Any gender. Heck, any animal, too.
"It seems like it would be much fun for experiments."
It is. That's one of the main perks of polymorph. I don't have to ask 'what if' very often-- I can just know.
But an easy trap to fall into is to spend so much time as other things that you lose sight of what 'you' are.
"But you have a normal formings you go back to each time, do you not?"
That's very true. Physically, there's still a default 'you' that shows up when your MP runs dry.
But mentally, you can start to lose yourself.
If I spent long enough as a bird, I'd reach a point where I consider the bird to be the real 'me', not my reptilian body.
It's... an especially big worry for someone like me.

I've lived my life as a normal reptilian, but despite how much I tell myself this is 'me'...
