Check out browser history on a computer. Maybe somebody who was once as lost as you knew what they were looking for and asked the right questions online.

Browse google maps (or an equivalent internet map) of the town. You can look up your school (and from there, employees/teachers), your home, your current location, clinics, public transportation (bus routes) as well as phone numbers to any of them.

You can also look up Swiss's boy scout troupe.

DO NOT look up anything sketchy like porn, this is a public area and the owner/other people can later see what was browsed, or kids might stumble on it later. It might be pre-blocked anyway.

While you are at the library, why not look up books that might interest you (or have high ratings online) and borrow one to read?

Probably one that won't trigger negative thoughts, that won't be too long/exhausting to read in your spare time, or one that you can focus on when you want to just drown out negativity for a bit. It's also a form of change.

Any genre you like? Comedy? Sci-fi? Fantasy? Comics? Something else? You could ask the polite librarian or Swiss for a recommendation.

I feel dumb.

What happened to Maya's backpack? Does she still have it? was it left in the car or lost somewhere when she fell out of the car?

What will become of Jayden's car? Is he insured? Did he remember to grab his phone? Does he have any accumulated vacation days to deal with his loss of transport and whatever adventure he'll end up getting into with Maya? I the worse case scenario, could he sell his car for scrap and buy a used car? I don't remember what form of currency the animal people use, so I'll assume it's the dollar or pound, and that they haven't had to deal with inflation as of late, so at most Jayden might have to shill anywhere between 1-3k for a used car of good quality off of Craigslist or an online market?

Will Jayden recover all of his belongings from the interior of his car (glove box, trunk, center console, etc.)?

The car is not Mayas problem, nor a reason to overthink it (does a pedestrian getting hit by a car worry about the car being damaged?). That's what car insurance clerks are paid to do.

Getting the backpack is valid though. Maya last had it before getting in Jadens car, so its likely still there, probably in the back seat. Swiss/Jaden could help fetch it maybe?
