I think I remember something about kitsune. I think I heard once that they carry a ball or stone with them that contains a portion of their power in it that let's them have greater control over their magic or something along those lines. I can't remember if everyone one of them have one or just the really strong ones but I think you should try and grab the ball before he does to weaken his power.
