Vulpes: "No see, some of you probably caught on by now but, this whole mission is fake. Well I mean it's real, but it's more of a 'friendly' spar more than it is a serious mission. Every now and then, the higher ups start this uh, this tournament deal. In this tournament, all the teams of Animal Branch face off in wargames where the scenarios are randomized. Just so happens that you joined our fine, dysfunctional little family 'round the start of the new year, so the guys in charge of training new operators told us to just combine this with a training mission, make you think it's real."

Fuchs: "...We didn't do a very good job."

VulpeS: "It's not like this mission doesn't matter though. We still get shop points for how we preform, and the rank of our team can be increased, which will attract more expensive commissions. We're not ranked the uh, the very best right no-"

???: "Team Fox is in DEAD LAST!"

Vulpes: "Fuck off, Karga. We don't really HAVE commissions right now since it's the start of the year and we're on the bottom. But if we beat Crow and maybe some others, we'll move up. Our last operator wasn't.. the best. But maybe you guys can help us out, huh?"

Fuchs: "...We started in a small room to the west of the ship when Rav said Rubah and 'Goosh ran off. Pretty sure, Zorro, Rav, Hu and Kitsune are still there. You said Rubah and Waagoosh are regrouping with the others, but I couldn't tell you where they are. When I was landing on the ship it looked like it had maybe two or three floors, I can't tell how many rooms. From what I saw on our way here I think there's a large open room to the east, and maybe a room in the center of this floor. The ship's a junker so I wouldn't expect much of it technology-wise. I don't know much 'bout security. Just this guy here. Which of course, brings me to a important topic. The mission's started, right? What do you guys want done with this guy?"

Wow, you DIDN'T fall for that? My opinion of your team has slightly increased!

Now, don't worry. You may be the worst unit in the team, everyone may hate you, and you may be stupid and incompetent, and totally deserving of that hate, but don't worry. We can make it through this together!

Now, I want you to subvert the shit out of that security guard. Get him on your side.

And if he resists, shoot him in the throat. And DON'T TELL HIM I SAID THAT.

Yeah, no, if this is a 'training wargame' then we've got nothing to offer this dude that they'd like better than a minimally painful 'death' and a chance to go sit out early while everyone else is still fucking around with the dumb 'mission scenario.' I'm not sure how his score is calculated but chances are him and his team get points for him surviving longer, killing more of our dudes and fucking with us better; we don't want any of that to happen.

Mercy kill and then watch for the inevitable grenade drop where he tries to improve his score by taking you guys with him.

...just shoot the fucker and move out.

Since you two are ahead of the rest of the group I guess that makes you two the team's scouts for now. So once you deal with this guy, move forward and try to map out the area as best you can. Once we get an idea of how to move around we'll send the main group up to support you guys/take out things you couldn't do with just to people and we'll work from there.

This sound good?

I hear footsteps echoing through the room, so we ducked behind a large crate to the right of the entrance. I believe there's a guard patroling from door to door in here. Awaiting orders."

Lets get this pretend mission started!

Zorro, Rav, Hu, Kitsune, New Guy, Rubah and Waagoosh: Gather your weapons and equipment from the pods and start moving towards the hangar, the mission is go!

Fuchs: Get Vulpes to stand on your shoulders so she can climb on the crate and survey the hangar.

ok to keep things simple you two are now alpha team and the other group will be bravo for this mission just so we don't have to keep saying all your names when we want the whole group to do something. So Alpha, if you see a chance to take out the guard fell free to do so

Zorro, Rav, Hu, Kitsune, Vos, Rubah and Waagoosh. You guys are team bravo so if we call all of you that don't get confused. Fuchs and Vulpes are scouting ahead of you guys but Vulpes forgot her RPG so one of you grab that on your way out. Alpha team Fuchs & Vulpes) are in the hanger so head there for now.

Vulpes: "Fuckin'.. Push harder, Fuchs! C'mon!"

Fuchs: "H..Heavy."

Vulpes: "Hey! It's the armor! J-Jerk! Okay I see uh, I see the guard. She has an assault rifle, but it's only her I can see. I think that huge metal thing is some kind of ventilation system.. Tell me how much 'explosives' you folks have. My favourite way to take down enemy personnel is to suppress with an explosive, pin down with suppressive fire, then target directly with an explosive while the enemy is suppressed, but if explosive ammo and suppression ammo is a factor then I guess we get to do things more stylishly and less thoroughly.

take out a grenade but don't prim it and open the door. If no one or just one or two people are in there just take them out quick with standard gunfire, if there are 3 or more people in there just toss in a frag to clear them out or a flash if it looks like there's something important in there.

We have managed to stay quiet so far, lets keep at it since once we go loud there is no going back.

Rubah, Rav and Kitsune: Check out the ventilation system, anyway to get inside it?
Failing at that anyway to throw gas grenades inside so that you don't get the gas blown back at you?

If nothing else works feel free to breach the door with the rocket launcher.

Second.
>>
No. 542825 ID: 4a27cd

This is real life, and in real life most ventilation systems in any installation with *any* concept of security are designed to not be human-passable unless they specifically need to be for maintenance reasons. These are things like the ducts falling apart because they can't support human weight, being too small for a human in the first place, maintenance alarms on each entrance and exit, airflow and air pressure monitoring that would instantly show what was happening, and having impassable hazards like ionizing air filters that would fry you extra crispy while generating a maintenance alert.

I agree that going loud is a pretty one-way decision and add that it would be a bad one when we don't know where ANY of the rest of the other team is. Can we look through the door or otherwise figure out what's on the other side with anybody's chip toys or other gadgets, or are we completely fucking incompetent at handling unfamiliar, hostile environments?!?
>>
No. 542827 ID: 4a27cd

Supplemental:
If you *do* go loud at least use some damn brains and DON'T breach at the door, use the wall like a non-rookie. If you folks don't have the demolitions supplies for that YOU SUCK.

Rubah: "Dude, that looks tight as shit. It's gonna have to be one of those short losers."

One guy and relatively close to the door means the silent pistol should be fine. Breach and eliminate the enemy quietly, then secure the area.
>>
No. 542871 ID: 9ddf68

couldn't hurt to put someone in the vents
Rubah- maybe seeing as he has a shotgun and since they tend to do well in tight closed in spaces, say like a ventilation shaft there is that, but that would make a lot of noise and if one of those shafts is long enough it might make the shotgun useless
Kitsune does have a longer range weapon but isn't as good a shot as Rebah and we do only have one engineer and I rather not risk him. and again if he has to fire his weapon it's going to make some noise
I think vos is our best bet since he has a silenced weapon and specializes in stealth so let's send out stealth unit to scout ahead... after he takes out the guy in the room if we want him to take that guy out too.
>>
No. 542875 ID: 2baea8

Rubah: Your file says you have extensive CQC and decent Marksmanship training. Think you can hit the guy through the door by throwing your knife? I realize Fuchs also fits the criteria, but he doesn't seem like he's among those needing the extra practice. If you're confident, have Vulpes open the door for you and let 'er fly.

Wagoosh: If Rubah misses, chuck your Flash and EMP to knock out the guy's senses and communications, then you two move in for a melee takeout. If Rubah is not confident in his skills as a carny knife-thrower, this is the secondary plan to take him out.

Vos&Kitsune: You two are our stealth and computer experts, respectively. Get in the vents and see if you can find a way to an access point. Vos can also use his visionoptics functions to see in the dark of the vents and map out enemy locations for allies on the ground, and his silent pistol will be useful in quietly removing isolated targets when necessary.

Does this sound good, team?
>>
No. 542906 ID: 001618

you know what. I think we SHOULD make a lot of noise. Just turn it to our advantage. Have everyone with a gun guard one of the ways into here and have everyone else storm the room and take that guy out. Then when the other guys come to see what the noise was we ambush the bastards and see how many we can put down before hunting down the rest.

Looks like a trap. Use 'em if you got 'em, roll in a grenade as quietly as possible. Take up leapfrog fire positions ready to either advance or make a fighting-retreat depending on what the result of the rolled grenade is.

Vos & Kitsune:
Are we *really fucking lucky* and you can shut off the air pressure in parts of the ship we aren't in? That could be a pretty cool way of disabling anybody who isn't prepped for vacuum hardening.
Assuming we aren't that lucky check upwards first: I'm hoping for you two to find some cool shit to fuck with or wreck that helps the rest of the team. Be careful, and if up just leads to more parts of the ship that are likely to be guarded just make careful notes for the mission-HUD automapping and rejoin the squad.
