There is light. Everywhere, there is light. It's pleasant, here, and it feels safe.
However, now is not the time to linger. Now, it is the time for your life to begin. You'll have to answer a few questions, first, however. For starters.

Male, or Female?

Leyla is stirring.
She notes that she seems to be inside of a house tree.
...Perhaps house is a bit too grand of a term for this small, somehow sufficient shelter.

Hmm. What do you remember, Leyla? Is this your house? The fact that it has a built in alcove for Nyth kind of suggests it might be.

I see a bow an arrows. You know how to use those? Or the knife at your waist? Can you read and write- there's quill and parchment on the self.

Sit up, brush the feathers out of your hair, and say good morning to your trusty familiar. Or animal companion I guess, you're looking more range-esce than mage-y right now.

Leyla sits up and rubs the sleep from her eyes.
>"Good Morning, Nythrul," she greets.
>"Morning, Morning," he squawks in reply.
Leyla does not want to brush the feathers from her hair because they are supposed to be there. It looks pretty. She thinks.

Try as she might, Leyla can't remember anything before waking up here. She seems to understand how to use the knife and bow and arrows, but doesn't recall ever using either of them. As for writing... There's nothing in the book, but when Leyla thinks on it, various letters seem to bubble up in her mind. She could probably write something, if she wanted to.

There's a whetstone, two flint stones, the journal, the quill, and a small pot of ink. Oh, also the bowl in the other alcove. Leyla thinks it's meant to be a small fire place.
There's also her knife held in place by a small loopy thing, her bow, and her quiver with a whole bunch of arrows in it.
Leyla flips through the journal and notices that immediately following the page she stopped looking after because it was blank there is a picture of a tree with squiggles coming out of it.

If there's nothing in the immediate area to investigate, let's grab our bow and arrow, take Nyth, and start exploring the area. As an aerial scout, he could always fly up and tell you if he sees anything interesting.

Just a bunch of trees.

Leyla fetches her bow and quiver and climbs out of her tiny tree abode. Ahead of her is woods. Behind is more trees. Left and right... A clearing, for some ways.

Nythrul flits off into the trees.

Leyla thinks she can hear moving water behind her.

Since there are fish in the water, it's probably free from parasites.

There's moss and a few types of plants, here... The trees are tall, but Leyla thinks her tree is the biggest.
>>
No. 513954 ID: 19b3c3

If you're concerned about parasites or disease, you could always boil the water before drinking- you did have a fireplace, flint, and a pot or pan of some kind.

But yeah, drinking water: found. And a possible food source, although we'd have to improvise a net or fishing pole (or hope you're agile enough to just grab a fish).

>her tree is the biggest
Kind of makes sense. If you're going to hollow a home out of a tree, you'd pick the biggest one around to do it.

If you're going to go arrow fishing two things
1 the water will bend light slightly so the fish might not be where it appears to be so try and figure that out before you start shooting
2 it helps if you tie a string or something around the arrow so you can drag the fish back in

The cycle of life consuming life to live. The application of empathy and anthropomorphism to things which carry none of these. These things, Leyla should consider. Know:

It is sometimes necessary to kill to live.

Not all things are worth the same degree of emotional consideration, although this is a subjective topic. Regardless, your fish would not understand the emotion vested in it, nor will any of its kindred.
