> sit up and take stock of your surroundings.

That seems like a good idea.

> Go back to sleep, atleast you won't be in pain there.

So does that.

He continues to switch between the two ideas. Unfortunately, a few rounds of mental debate only serve to wake him up some more. His brain starts to become slightly less cloudy. Something about his vision remains off, however. He can’t seem to see at all out of his right eye. As he pushes his reluctant body into a sitting position, he notices something else that is off.

Most of his right arm.

Oh fuck. Oh fuck.
>>
No. 487881 ID: 695191

Well that... is not good. On the plus side you aren't bleeding out or anything. Investigate the status of the stump, and check for any arm-like debris in the area.

Also, were you a righty before? Because you aren't one now.

Grab your stump out of panic, assess it for injuries, then look around you. Where are you? How'd you get there? What things are in your immediate vicinity?

From the looks of it, these injuries are old. Don't panic, they could have been caused by anything. You have more recent injuries that are a better use of your attention. Bruises? Cuts?

Where are you?

Although the sight freaks him the fuck out, Marcel tentatively feels the stump that is all that remains of his right arm. It ends in scar tissue. It must have healed over months ago. It’s a little better than having a fresh wound.

>they could have been caused by anything

But what? What could have happened to his arm? And his eye? And why? The questions surrounding them are almost as bad as the disfigurations themselves.

>You have more recent injuries that are a better use of your attention.

He’s bruised up, yeah, but it’s tolerable. He’s got a few cuts here or there, but they’re mostly healed, nothing major. All of the blood that’s on him is dry. It seems most of him is in workable condition.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about his brain.

>were you a righty before?
>Where are you? How'd you get there?

Besides his name, he can’t remember anything about himself. Who he is, where he is, where he had been before here. Not parents, not friends, not an occupation.

He does seem to be rather accustomed to using his left hand, though. So there’s that.

Confusion remains, but Marcel manages to push away panic for the moment, and collects himself enough to look around the room. Judging by the bed, it seems to be some sort of bedroom. Hopefully it isn’t his. It looks like there had been some sort of fight or ritual sacrifice or something generally bad in here. None of its contents are particularly pleasant.

A bloody mattress. Some sort of plushie thing. The dismembered plastic top of a table. The remnants of what might have been a rug. A busted lamp in the corner. The door is opposite the bed. The walls themselves are very drab- just a dull grey color. Well, besides for the smeared blood. The light is very white and artificial, and there are no windows. He’s suddenly aware of how cold it is, and the couple thin garments he is wearing are no help.

He isn’t sure what to look at first.

The writing on the bed is a clue. You investigate those.

Marcel decides to check out the bed. It’s just a mattress on a metal frame. On the mattress, someone has written something in blood.

>The writing on the bed is a clue

If it is a clue, it makes absolutely no sense. I want to go back? Who does? And to where? And what does that have to do with him? It looks like the scrawl of a madman more than anything else.

>Take the bedsheet for warmth

If only. There unfortunately isn’t a bed sheet on the mattress.

Since he’s there, he picks up the small stuffed animal on the floor near the bed. It looks almost like a vague approximation of a dog, and probably has seen better days. It appears to have been torn, stitched up, torn again, and rolled around in blood.

>lets see if its worthy of accompanying us on our journey to find the truth

Honestly, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly useful about it, but it’s almost charming, in a ragged sort of way.

Marcel goes ahead and adds the stuffed animal to his inventory. It isn’t as if there is a lack of space.

>Let's try opening the door.

He doesn’t want to spend more time in this room than necessary. He makes his way to the door, turns the handle, pushes, and….

The door doesn’t budge. It doesn’t feel locked, but like there’s something heavy pushed up against it on the outside.

((Oops, the door thing was my dumb mistake. Oh well.))

Marcel knocks on the door first.

No response.

He grabs the handle again and tries pulling it open next. To his embarrassment, it seems the door does indeed open inward. At least no one was around to see that, right?

The door lets out a metallic squeak as he pulls it open an inch, two inches….

He keeps his grip on the doorknob tight. He isn’t so sure he wants to lash out yet, not until he knows for sure if they’re hostile or not. It takes a moment to spur his vocal cords to work, but he manages to croak out, “Who’s there?”

Silence.

Marcel clears his throat. It feels like he hasn’t spoken in months. “Who’s there?” he repeats, a little louder.

The silence continues for a moment longer, and then there is a low groan. It lasts several seconds, becoming deeper until it is almost a growl. He feels pressure on the door, someone beginning to push against it.

>GET TO THE LAMP! A shard of it will make a good knife.

Marcel practically trips over himself in a rush to get to the broken lamp. It’s some sort of ceramic, and he manages to find a decent sized shard. It’s sharp enough to cut his hand a little, although that is obviously the last of his worries.

Now what?
>>
No. 489784 ID: 76b151

Your job is to disable it long enough to escape this room. If it really is sluggish run in, slash its torso or throat then dart out of range again. See if it bleeds.

Lure it further into the room and repeat the process of attacking it until you think you can get by it to the door.

Fuck using that shard as a knife, it's too dangerous!

Back away to lure it into the room. Consider toppling the bed onto it. Priority one is just to get past it and out of the room.

>Fuck using that shard as a knife, it's too dangerous!

It’s certainly not ideal, but it’s the best he has, and the monster seems a bit more dangerous in comparison.

>It has no eyes, it likely can't see you and depends on sound and smell. Throw something into one side of the room

He would prefer avoiding combat if possible. He’s not sure what the monster is capable of, nor is he particularly confident in what he might be able to manage. Distraction seems like the better route. He grabs a smaller shard of the lamp and throws it off to the other corner of the room, where it goes clink against the bed frame.

That seems to catch the monster’s attention. It cocks its head and is halfway through taking a step— when it suddenly pauses. It sniffs the air loudly in the direction of the bed. Then it turns its head, continuing to sniff the room until it is facing Marcel.

It steps towards him. Well, shit.
>>
No. 491256 ID: 76b151

Do not stay in that corner. Do your best to wound it while avoiding reprisals. Once its further in the room try to move around it. If you could hamstring it so it can't follow you out then close the door that'd be best.

Use the shard to cut a strip of cloth off the sheet, then wrap it around part of the shard. You're just going to ruin your hand if you use the bare shard in a fight.

You're barefoot, so it should be pretty easy to walk silently. Say "If you can understand me, stand still."
If she complies, then you've opened communication.
Otherwise you'll have lured her over to the bed, and you can just shove her onto it to gain enough time to leave the room and shut the door.

Don't start violence unless you have no choice; you're basically naked and unarmed, and you can't take those kinds of risks or energy expenditure needlessly.
