In the skies above the frigid waters of the north pacific, a light twin turboprop makes it's way northeast. In it's hold sits a load of parcels and mail from the settlement on half island to be delivered to the mainland.

At its current airspeed and heading, it should arrive in anchorage in five hours. This morning's weather charts indicated that it should be unseasonably smooth flying all the way.

Elaine wakes up. The room is brightly lit and filled with beds and medical monitoring equipment.

Elaine hears static, mixed with distant, indistinct voices.

Check how hungry and thirsty you are and eat and drink accordingly from your rations. Keep it low, since you don't know how far you'll have to stretch them.

Scrounge around and gather up all the medical tools that aren't rusted into uselessness, along with anything else of interest, and pile them next to your mailbag. Dump out the mailbag to make room and cut open any packages to look for supplies. It's a federal offense, but I don't think the postmaster general is going to walk in and bust you. Put any sharp medical implements into your first-aid kit, and put it, some rations and water, the flashlight, and anything useful from the packages into the mailbag to carry.

Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, codeine, loperamide, activated charcoal, ammonium carbonate, and diphenhydramine

a pair of plastic tweezers

two sterile scalpel blades

two pairs of nitrile gloves.

Your cuts should have clotted already, so it's too late to disinfect them. If they haven't clotted, then you may have a bigger problem. Take a dose of analgesic tablets from the first-aid kit if the soreness is really bad.

>>431769
If the blade is too dull to cut anything, may as well remove it and keep the handle in your first-aid kit.

>>431770
Also judging by the fact that they're using CRTs as light sources the lighting circuits are either turned off, the wiring is bad, or the bulbs simply burnt out long ago. The bulbs being burnt out is the most likely, meaning the lighting circuits are still active and could be used to power things, with a suitable adapter, or some kludging.

>>431778
Check what the size number of the sterile scalpel blades is. If they don't say, just compare the rusty blade to them to see if they match.

Of course it couldn't be something useful, the way your luck is going. Ah, well. Leave them in the pile with the soggy mail.

Give the door a tug and the locking mechanism a twist to see if they're as rusted up as the entrance was, just in case you'll have to close it at some point. Poke your head out into the hall and look for any sign of Artyom. Poke around in here as well and look for anything Artyom may have left. ...Where is he...?

Wait an hour for Artyom to show, before going out to try and find him. If your watch is missing or broken, just wait a bit, then go. Stick to the nearby rooms.
