The main reason is probably because of my awful posting schedule recently. When everything takes something like three days to even start to resolve then even small discretions gets cumbersome. That and the bad schedule make me come up with too much unnecessary crap between updates. I hope I’ll get some motivation back and start updating more regular in the future.

Personally, I’m not too happy with her either. The main problem is that she’s supposed to look like Xuv, but her design doesn’t work as well without the skull. I’ve think I’ve said it before, but she might get a design overhaul in the future if she gets a bigger role in the quest.

This quest is full of lies!

"Eat people to gain powers" is one of the main things this quest promises and yet, we haven't gotten any new powers! The only thing we got were memories of old lives, memories of people we ate, and the forms of the people we ate to turn into.

We can't even use Terroza's fire magic, even though we have her memories, because Kaktus said, "No you can't use her magic because you don't know how to use magic. But instead you can have a chance of Terroza's personality taking control of you!"

Come on! If we have Terroza's memories, then we should also have her memories of how to use her magic! Let us use her fire magic!

Or at least give us some new undead ability we can use, like being able to paralyze people from long range by locking eyes with them or being able to hypnotize someone into telling us what we want to know or just give us something so that we don't have to keep trying five hundred different things to get a single scrap of information that we need to progress the story!

Why are a bunch of suggesters intent on outing Ema to Corvus, a stranger of unknown motives and attitude? It'll so likely go bad and then we're stuck up shit creek 'cause Corvus is too pure for Ema to scarf him down to keep him from blowing her cover and bringing the guards down on her.

You guys did choose to focus on strength at the beginning, so Ema has been steadily become stronger and a faster eater as the quest goes on. The second fight with Karn was supposed to show this off, but people didn’t want to show off any inhuman strength (Insakkilian strength?), making it a lot more even instead of the curbstomp battle it would have been. Ema has gone from just being able to throw a persona few meters and having to paralyze and slowly eat someone to ripping apart safes with her bare hands and eating people in mid-fall, after all.

That would be something a more intelligent person would be able to do. Ema instead learned about her strength magic.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I’ve not trying to go out of my way to block any path, but this quest has recently been rather slow and stale with its plot. I’ve tried to remedy this by rushing a bit through the Uredo / library thing, so we’ll see if things get a bit better.

I don't think a Varkian and Sakkilian hybrid form would be good for us to use. We'd have to keep ourselves completely covered all the time, just like Athena.

Hey, speaking of Athena, didn’t Kaktus mention giving her a design overhaul? I was thinking of how that could be explained in the quest and I thought of something.

She was looking for transformation potions in Oran’s shop, right? What if they weren’t for making her look like a regular Sakkilian? Maybe the potion is for keeping her current hybrid form? And when the potion wears off, she changes back to her normal form, which can be Kaktus’ new overhauled design for her.

How does that sound?

But also in >>/quest/943155 Ema mentioned that she didn't think that Corvak and Corvus' father was in Dalriver at the time of the massacre. Their father's name might be, or might have been, Karkan Inkfeather.

Ema also remembered that Corvus and Corvak's father traveled all the time back then and that he is (or was) black feathered while their mother was wasn't. (I'm using both the present and past tenses because we don't know if their father is still alive.)

And Corvus decided to drop his family name... either to put Dalriver behind him or because of some disagreement with his father.
I have a feeling we'll be meeting Karkan at some point.

With how much he was away from Dalriver, it's possible that he put his family there to keep 'em safe from whatever he was doing. Considering the quote from the start of thread 4, he may be (or have been) a vampire hunter or he's (or was) somehow involved in destroying or attempting to enslave Yate's kind.

Of course this is a whole lot of speculation and it might just pan out that he was a travelling merchant or some other benign job that kept him away from his family and Dalriver for almost all the time back then.

Of course Oran still refuses to change. Even after all the warnings, he's still being an idiot. He even refused to change when we were controlling him that one time!

It's almost like Kaktus is purposefully making Oran act like an idiot because he doesn't want us to try and help certain characters become better people. I refuse to believe that Oran is dumb enough to continue making drugs when an undead monster is telling him to stop and has threatened him multiple times!

That's some really bad writing.

Oran's problem is that he's greedy, lies habitually, and has very little sympathy for others.

I *was* put off that we convinced him to stop selling drugs while controlling him, then that got retconned or something.

Before we make a big mistake rushing Justina out of the home of the vampire she just banged, I'm going to remind everyone that the city has a nighttime curfew due to folk disappearing after dark. Said disappearances are most likely due to vampires or city guards nabbing folk to sell 'em to the vampire nobility. So we may be rushing her from the relative safety of a vampire that is fed enough he wants to keep up the facade of being mortal and wouldn't harm her before she leaves at dawn into the hands of a hungry vampire or captured for a vampire noble's larder.

I am currently just another friendly neighborhood poster here on this board, mostly because I mostly only draw for updates for my quest anyway. So no, I don’t have a gallery, never thought I really needed one.

As for Boldly Coming in particular, I’d like to continue and finish it, but I can’t find a way to change its current state into something I actually want to do, so sadly I’ve taken the decision to reboot it and try again, this time with some more experience behind me.
