Tell Briannah that if you had your wish we could embrace like this all day, but sadly that cannot be. You'll just have to be content with but a scant few minutes and a kiss when we part. As for immediate plans, you'll get in your exercise routine (and hopefully work up a appetite despite being stuffed with souls.) You hope your love will join you after taking her medication, but if she has elsewhere she has to be that'll be fine. Follow that with a light breakfast... No, wait. It'll be brunch by then, wouldn't it? Well, whatever it is, be quick about eating. You don't have all the time in the world anymore.
You have some possibilities in mind for where to go today, but no specific order yet. Meeting Zela is the first to pop onto your mental list, but that one you want Briannah with you for, so it'll have to wait until after she meets whoever she has to meet alone.
You ought to meet with General Thalia to go over what she's planning to do to hamper the Archbishop's plans. Because right now, you're not so sure that Belseth becoming a god is that bad of a idea. It may be that to stop the Nightmare will take a god, since it has Xuv's soul and divine power. You also need to talk with her about Karas and his possession.
You also should track down Belseth, and not just because you and Bri should talk with him about your relationship. Last night he was suddenly called away for urgent matters related to the Archbishop's plan for Bel's ascension not long before Karas was discovered to have vanished. You have a feeling that they are somehow related. There was probably a period between Karas' guards checking on him, and if it was long enough to be before Belseth was called away, his vanishing could coincide with whatever caused the Archbishop to call Belseth away. Check with Sisah if she knows how long it was between the guards checking Karas' cell. But whatever it is, you have a bad feeling the Archbishop's plans are near going off the rails, if not already. Belseth may be persuaded to share what is going on in the Grand Temple if he's worried enough.
Meeting with Kira and basically announcing you're going to insert yourself into her business of governance whether she wants it or not for her own good is a possibility. You'll need to speak with Cain first to find out what you could stick your beak into and get a crash course on it. In fact, since you're going to be involving yourself in matters of state, you'll need Cain's help on that more than being your butler, so hiring someone to take his place there is sensible. ...Actually, what do you think of the idea of Cain becoming Kira's right-hand man? She needs someone she can trust, and there is nobody you know more trustworthy than Cain, and few equal to his competence. And it was mentioned that his talents are kinda wasted watching over you. Anyway, check what Kira's schedule is today.
You feel you should at least check in on Tim. See if the Nightmare bothered him in his sleep, and ask about the attempted magic intrusion on your apartment's wards. See if him investigating them now would possibly yield anything. And then maybe sit with him over tea and just talk. He has to be worried after his encounter with the Nightmare and everything else and needs a friend to talk with.
And check on how your father is doing. If he's awake and cleared for visitors you should go see him.
Let Briannah know that you fully believe there's absolutely nothing to be ashamed about taking medication for psychological problems. We take medicine for mending bones and flesh and treating other ailments, and those for helping the mind are no different. It take them is a sign of support and recovery, and not in any way that of weakness or failure. Anybody who says otherwise will get a earful from you, for it would be the same as shaming a person for treating a disease or broken limb.
Bri wanted to set down the guidelines for who we bed, and you have two to add to what Bri already said. First is nobody who's married or otherwise in a committed relationship without the express agreement of their spouses or partners. No having affairs. Second, we clearly establish if they're looking for any relationship beyond sex. We want to avoid unwanted romantic entanglements and potential broken hearts.
Oh, and also make sure to pocket that sketch of the Nightmare Zela drew for you, after showing it to Briannah so she knows what it appears as, at least to you. You'll want it available to show to others, especially Thalia.
You're also going to have to talk with Briannah about who the Nightmare really is at some point. You want her to be ready for it to be Krotos and not be blindsided. It'll be hard, but better going in knowledgeable than not. And that you're going to kill him for good, whatever way it takes.
>and… and I really need to talk to some people… alone…
Can she say who these people are, or is it something she needs or wishes to keep secret?
>I already ‘now yah saw ugly things… things that I don’t want to know about. I already know many of my problems already… and I need to deal with one at the time.
Okay, you won't tell her of the ugly things, but would she like to hear of the good things you saw in there? The lavender in pots and vases all over, it's scent detectable everywhere. The music rune from the night you and her first made love that you found backstage. (Which you wonder why it brings her such happiness.) The dining hall with delectable smelling dishes of all kinds. The tasteful nude portrait of you hanging in the gallery. The Myseth family sword hanging in the armory, next to a shining suit of her armor, representing her bravery. And tell her of the memories you saw when you touched the armor's gem. Let her know she'll always be a heroine to you, even if she doesn't feel like one.
>…I’m sure we kind fix that for you. Maybe talk to Cain about… he’ll probably know how to contact one.
>Then I’ll talk to ‘im later…
Make a mental note to ask Cain to let you know when and if Bri comes to him about finding a therapist, and also to let you know if she hasn't within a couple days. You don't like not trusting she'll follow through, but it is far too important to let slip through the cracks if she gets into another mood or serious events get in the way.
>‘e wanted me to try and make good deeds, even small things, to make me think a bit more positive about myself… and to keep myself occupied with ‘obbies… stuff like that.
Briannah mentioned yesterday that she took up painting about three years ago. From the timing you thought it was related to what Krotos did to her, and this confirms that. So what other small things has she done lately she'd be proud of? And what hobbies does she engage in other than painting? ...Wait. Bri referred to her varied sexual escapades as her "hobby" at one point, didn't she? Is she reusing that part of her behavior as part of her therapy? ...Well, if that's true and it actually helps her, then you're okay with it. Frankly, you were already okay with her being so sexual anyway. That is, so long as her open sexuality isn't a symptom of other psychological issues. You'd much prefer your love get better even if it means your sex life with her isn't quite so... varied and expansive.
> I… well… I guess if yah did it for that reason and not to snoop… I… um… guess I can forgive yah? Just keep out of my chest, alright?
She has no worries about you poking about in there without her permission again, but perhaps she should think about the possibility of others doing so. That lock was, frankly, pitiful. Would she like it if you got her a mithril chest like your own? You know Karas won't be needing his ever again, so you can get her that one easy. Oh, and this reminds you that you need to check if the prayer book is still safely in your own chest. If it's gone then you've got big problems. And also tell Cain to destroy his translation notes and copies of the rituals, if he hasn't already.
>They were Sakkilian… though, I guess that’s because I associate children with Sakkilian ones… the details about them though… I can’t remember… where there even details? Hmm…
>Yah want me to… b-bear the ‘eir to the kingdom? I… of course I would… for yah… for us…
And this is why you're so wondering what they would look like, assuming Xuv's magic worked. It's no doubt you'd accept them as your own and as heirs whatever their form, but how much others would accept them as heir very much varies by that. The heir to the throne of Risavia being a Sakkilian would... Well... Ruffle a lot of feathers, to put it mildly. And be considered a legitimized bastard, since with Bri's reputation it'll be assumed she laid with a Sakkilian guy and forgot the contraceptive charm. And a Vark born of a Sakkilian would be considered impossible. Much more likely you laid with some anonymous maid, forgot protection, and took in the resulting child as your own. A hybrid would be the only outcome that could be truly generally accepted as a child of you and Briannah. It would raise all kinds of questions as to how, but it could be waved away as divine intervention and blessing. And then you wonder what a Vark-Sakkilian hybrid would look like. A smaller, feathery Sakkilian? A Vark with a saw-toothed beak and more scales than feathers? Something else entirely? And would they be able to have children of their own with Vark or Sakkilian or are they too different? So many questions that can only be answered by trying. You still want to have children with Bri, but we also have to keep in mind you may end up having to sire the heir with a Vark gal just so Risavia doesn't descend into a civil war or some such. You don't like that it may have to be that way, but it is what it is.
When you get a moment to talk with Sisah, ask her how much more plausible would it be that Karas used invisibility and sound muffling magic than teleportation to get out. Possibly with levitation or wall adhesion magic as well. You're thinking he'd go invisible and silent, then slip out when the guards opened his cell to investigate.
