Some hours prior to Roxy's escape from the public eye...

Coral is taking a taxi towards the club, and is planning on creating another division to talk to the four blackmailers while Roxy talks with Sevener.

Both Alison's team and Fern's team have reviewed the data from last night's experience with the Blackmailer's club.

All of them are difficult to read, but there is a general concensus that Laner, who took Coral on the car ride, had a great time, and just wants to play cool and hard to please about it.

Bolonn is more openly receptive towards Coral, but he appears to have an unhealthy avoidance of responsibility, deep topics, or things that stray from a stricly hedonistic, outgoing lifestyle.

The other two, which were spoken to less, are Rike and Rans. The former is more business oriented but has been seen fooling around with others in the club. The latter tends to loom over the railing as their security measure. His hours seem unpredictable.

>"Alright, 'Sugartooth.' We're hoping for some more progress tonight." Fern says on a phone. "We've got some info to give you more to work with. We found a once-rich biological from I-Block, we paid them off with favors outside of prison, which you'll pay us to do out of the reward money for this job. Don't worry, it isn't much. The I-Block boss had all their primary sources of money either frozen, abducted, or made inaccessable, so he had a lot of motivation to roll with this punch.
>Secondly, our blackmailers got some dealings with some corrupt cops. Not sure what that's about, but we looked at some of the people Rike was talking with, and they're the middle men between a corrupt cop network and the criminal network. Nothing to do with the other job. And lastly, they've got another blackmailing project over with some freighter company that deals in weaponry. Cops or freighters, these are just two other angles if you want to send a division over to investigate that if you aren't getting anywhere with the club."

Sexy but powerful? How about we go as a very large Neumono.

Leave any electronic devices with your second division, as requested. I guess this means it was a good idea to keep another division around, since if you didn't, you'd have to break contact with Rike and make up some excuse as to why your core body can't just continue the phone call.

DO NOT leave your stuff unattended. Rike has a tracker on the bomb which means he knows your current location, which means he could come by and hack your phone to see what's on it.
>>

If they know we're a jetal going in, and they're gonna search us, that means we can't hide any electronics inside this division, including cameras and phones. We'll have to hand them off to the no-longer-stripping division.

We might also want to acquire a fake core. If they search our division thoroughly enough to find anything hidden inside, they'll notice we don't have a core either. They're not supposed to know we're a division.

>Coral should also think up a simple but disposable appearance for negotiations.
Big tits, swept back handlebar horns? (Maybe the red-line tat-lights from Jukashi's outfit brainstorming? Fits the strong-but-sexy vibe).

Like crazy invasive jetal searching?

If so we probably can't take a track cam with us. Or any of the phones. Can relay our senses through our divisions for any needed phone access.

As for our looks here are some ideas.

1. A pretty taller girl with some generous assets that looks somewhat like we did back in our first high society job. Very slick and professional looking while being beautiful.

2. Fit in with the crowd by looking like a strong female mercenary leader. A mid length skirt and a nice jacket and some glasses and give everyone a look that makes them wonder why we look so confident even though we just walked into the room with no dangerous modules to speak of.

3. Whore it up a bit and look like we are a presant to make the bitter pill easier to swallow. Will probably end up fucking a bunch of gun runners anyway so might as well dress the part.
>>
No. 778589 ID: 65ec8d

Looks like you won't be getting track cameras this time, if you have to get rid of anything electronic, which I assume said cameras are. Hand off your stuff to your division. You could maybe hide something if you arrived there early? The place must have somewhere things can be hidden, and time for the hiding to be done, if the bomb is going to be there. A concealed track cam could at least pick up the sound of the negotiation, and it's not like the looks would mean much since they're going to be jetals (presumably). Risky, tough.

As for form... my first instinct is to say something classy and sexy, without huge muscles but a hint of athleticism, like a female bodyguard disguised as arm candy. Beautiful but not enough to attract too much attention, enough overt sexuality for the people who look down on sex to be dismissive, but not frail looking and seeming capable of moving fast, with clothes that are skimpy in the right spots but also have weapon concealment possibilities. Then I thought about jetals, and what's probably intimidating in a jetal is mass. Shapes and appearances that look like they could conceal extra jetalium, like big sleeves, long skirts. The skirts especially because high-mass jetals who want to look belenosian probably go with skirts and robes to spread their weight on whatever they're standing on. You could do that fold-hands-in-sleeves thing to look like you could whip out an arm gun at any moment.

So I'm thinking a sort of somewhat geisha-esque thing, something with long wide sleeves and a big skirt, but bared shoulders and cleavage up top. Big chest and hips for the high mass look, but not as much as the stripper divisions. Extra tails and carved horns that look like they could conceal extra senses would give the impression of a jetal who's alert. Rest of the features to fit with a high-class courtesan look but with a touch of extra physical capability. Don't use the biomod but don't skimp on details either, show off some shapeshifting ability and attention to detail in the body anatomy. Form your clothes out of jetalium too, but adding touches of lace, ruffles, ribbons, things that also show off shapeshifting. The face should be attractive, with a general expression of confidence and competence, usually smiling, professional but not cold.

Rike said to go as "something easy on the eyes but still doesn't take any shit". How about we go as a sexier version of Belenosian Sevener? We already know Sevener has a look that says she doesn't take any shit (no matter what form she takes), all we need to do is change it a little to make it easy on the eyes.

"Like an invasive search?"
>"I wouldn't put it past them."

While driving, Coral thinks up some forms. She can mix and match or otherwise alter any of these to choose from.

As she does so, she'll get off on an arbitrary exit and have her other division pick up her electronics.

Lose the horns for number 2 and gain a fluffy tail + a snout and it'll be perfect.

Too much Sevener face might cause problems down the line, if that gets out later. Might draw attention from her that could lead to her investigating something that might eventually connect to us. Unnecessary risk. Cute outfit, though.

Number 3 is... too much attitude. Too much detail. Wrong application for it, I think.

Two is cute, but maybe too mild for this meeting.

Maybe number two's head on number one's body?
>>
No. 778628 ID: 65ec8d

I like 1 but looking too much like Sevener might cause an issue. I'll say number 2, with number 1's clothes and figure? And add a little more decoration, like a collar and some ear decorations, studs or rings. Let the ears hang forward over the shoulders. Maybe fancy her horns up a little too, she needs to look a little bit more fancy and a touch more intimidating. Perhaps a kind of ram curl or similar. Add 3's multi-tails, too, if they fan behind her they could create a sort of subtle aura or throne effect.

3 is cool but she'd give off an "I don't give a fuck what you think" vibe, which can be good for a certain type of blackmail negotiation but not, I think, with arms dealers. Let's save her for later.
>>
No. 778635 ID: 91ee5f

Maybe instead of Sevener's actual form we use her Belenos form she had when she went dancing with Roxy? I don't know anymore. But I do like the outfit that's on number 1!

The head on option 2 is placed onto the body and outfit of option 1, and a few details are then changed from there, mostly with the addition of details as well as a sharper horn look. Option 3 will be discarded for later use, when a more aggressive negotiation would take place.

Coral takes the exit and arrives at the house at an early 11:14 AM. She leaves the car visible but out of the way, and has the time to change anything about her appearance, or wait the rest of the time.

Division 3, who will act like she's the Coral with the core, is almost in position and will watch from afar.

These guys are murderous arms dealers. We have little to no defenses, let alone offense. Better to not look intimidating. We're just a pretty messenger. We're not the one that should be killed.
Though... I wonder if one time allies just to get rid of these increasingly annoying blackmailers would be possible.

Maybe playing the 'innocent (and maybe a bit dumb) gal pressed into this' would be useful? We could just read things as we go.

Division 1 tests the look by removing the frills to see what it looks like. She also inspects the inside of the house. Inside and out, it's a plain house that is functional, remarkably sturdy and seems well maintained. D1 goes back to waiting outside, since the jetals were not already inside.

As her internal clock reaches 11:22, there are no signs of the arms dealers. Until they arrive or 11:30 passes, the list of important options to contemplate have deteriorated into the following:

A) No frills
B) Original frills
C) More frills

Beautiful. I look at you and I see authority, control, refinement... yet also, comfortable huggability. How many people do you have in that division? You could set them to constantly ruffle the frills softly, like you're in a breeze no-one else is feeling - if they can tell you're a division and you're managing all those little motions despite their jamming field, they'll surely be impressed. Do that and the hands-in-sleeves thing in front with your arms, keep that smile, and move gracefully, you'll look like a goddess. A walking art piece, which is what I imagine the personal companions to the emperors are probably like. These guys won't be able to help but think your employers must be stupid wealthy, and who wants to mess with money?

Coral re-enters the house, keeping her Maximum Overfrill outfit.

11:28 comes and goes, and there's no sign of any approach until Division 3 sees a glint in the sky.

4 objects, assumed jetals, are seen coming downwards at high speeds. There's too much atmospheric noise and other particles for the fake-core division to get a good visual on, so scanner teams may not be able to do research on any known forms until after the meeting. Just before a crash land, thrusters turn on that create a cloud of disturbed dust that the far division can see.

As they touch down, Divison 1, while inside of the house, starts hearing various static noises. The four jetals speak in a high speed language that Unity cannot understand, and at a glance, would take far too long to attempt to decrypt.

There is also a strange ambience that Unity can only describe as a fuzz in the air.

They all enter the house and take a look around. Unity cannot sense any of their modules. She cannot sense their jetalium mass, either, but their mass leaves deep footprints in the dirt outside, and their steps bend the floor as they stand on it. Judging by that alone, vs the size of their feet, engineer estimates that each of their masses go well into the four digits range.

Although Unity has never seen one before, it's thought that there's a good possibility that the jetal with three heads is a supercore.

>"Hello." says the shortest one with several eyes. "My name is Nelm, and I'll be the spokesman for the waxers. These are my bodyguards and advisors. What do I call you, and what is your stake in all of this?"

Yeah this is why having our actual core within 50 miles would be a bad idea. These guys probably have military class scanner modules that could pick our core up if they wanted to make a sweep to find it.

My name is (Pick from these synonyms for Frills: Garnish, Flounce, Gingerbread, Amenity, Jazz, Ruffle, Extravagance, Lace, or Superfluity.)

And I am the slutty eye candy negotiator for the evening.

Ha ha a synonym name for Frills would go perfectly with our maximum overfrill getup. Maybe Lace? But there are so many good choices there.

"I am technically the negotiator. But my stake the affair tonight is more likely to be a sweet candy treat for you to enjoy. After of course my employers receive there down payment."

(If we could get them all to core fuck us at once just think of the money we could make from there stuff. Think on how to lure them into doing so.)

"My name is Myria, and I'm here as I am elsewhere, to serve my employer's desires. Which, in this case, would be my ensuring that we establish as friendly a relationship as is possible, by whatever means are available to me."

Insert a better name there if someone comes up with one. The idea with the rest is to go for a sort of subtle double-talk flirtiness, under a thin cover of professionalism. These guys look like high pros who have airs and aren't going to be receptive to open sluttiness, I think, at least not in front of each other.

If we still have contact through our division with Fern, ask him about "the waxers". Also ask how he'd feel if you set up contact between them and him. We shouldn't betray Rike and co. by word, since that bomb could easily record everything that's being said while it's listening for the code phrases, but I think we could slip in a "get in touch" message. Something like "my employers are experienced in this sort of transaction; you could ask their previous clients what the wisest course at this point is from their hard-won experience, but of course who they are is confidential. You won't get that information here, unfortunately", and then meaningfully pull out a lollipop, give it a little flourish or something to draw attention and then put it in our mouth, with a wink. That'd probably send the message if they're smart, which they should be. Question is, would Fern appreciate it?

"My name is Lace, the slutty eye candy negotiator for the evening." Unity says, taking a bow.

The separate lobbies cannot communicate with each other directly, so Lace is currently in the dark as to who the waxers are.

There was some confusion about the time as to when they would arrive, as it may have changed from 11:45 to 11:30, but it doesn't appear to matter significantly, other than having more time to negotiate if need be.

"I'm here as I am elsewhere to serve my employer's desires, which is ensuring that we establish as friendly a relationship as possible by whatever means are available to me. Have you been informed of the asking price?"
>"No. Let's hear what the demands are."
"I'm to ask for a down payment of 30 million dollars, and 5 million more every month."

Some static goes off. The feathered jetal, Lace notices, has many tiny particles of jetalium lifting off. Much of it goes outside, while much of it scatters around the house. Nelm's pupils dilate and contract independent of one another. The supercore is making varying thuds onto the ground. The remaining jetal is making high pitched noises that is far beyond the hearing range of most biological entities.

>"Heheh. You really are a pleasure jetal, making us laugh like that. Don't misunderstand. We're impressed that you'd try to take a slice of our cake like this. Impressed in a weird way, that a group of overambitious nutjobs could last so long in their business while being so stupid. They all know we could reduce them all to a burnt silhoette on their beloved club. They must, otherwise they would have shown up in person instead of hiring someone like you. Who are you, girl?"
"I'm just Lace."
>"Yeah, and I'm just Nelm. Did they even tell you what they stole? Are you really with these guys, or are you really just a cute face to soften our sensibilities up? What're they paying a girl like you, to mess with us on their behalf? I doubt it's enough."

Lace could answer straight, but there is an opportunity to speak while silently pulling up a lollipop as a hint.
>>

Give them a fairly straight speech (for the bombs listening devices) about how you have not been told the particulars and are just a experienced negotiator that recently came on board and is trying to prove her worth.

While saying this pull out a lollipop and suggestively wave it in the air before sucking on it.

>particles of jetalium
A clever way of foiling stealth modules. The jetalium can be sensed, so if anyone is invisible they'll cast a shadow. I expect the thuds and ultrasound are also detection methods. Do they know about the bomb, though?

Tell them you've been kept mostly in the dark. Ask if there's a way to speak in private, like whatever way they're speaking, just in case anyone is listening. You're inclined to agree they're over their heads, and you might just walk out after this job. One thing's for sure you're gonna ask for more than they want to pay you.

Once you've got a private line, tell them you know it's blackmail but little else.

...hey, there's four of them. How do we know this isn't Rike and company in disguise? A loyalty test to see if Coral will betray the group to a seemingly stronger group?
>>
No. 778839 ID: 3abd97

>Did they even tell you what they stole?
Does it matter? It could be your prized collection of trading cards or it could be an Emperor's fail-safe. Either way, they have something you want, and I'm here, and you're here. What it is don't change that.

The only way what matters is if you're concerned with getting it back, or making sure no one else ever sees it. You so confident your precious won't burn before you pull it out of the ashes of the club? Or are your trigger fingers faster than a high speed net connection that would put your dirty laundry out there for all to see?

Force solves a great many problems, gentleman. The reason I'm here, is because sometimes, subtlety serves your interests better. (As you're saying this, this is when you should deliberately pull out a lollipop and then start sucking on it. Assuming eyeballs has anything like a social scanner, he should get what we're implying).

Instead of making a big, messy scene in the middle of the city, drawing the heat of the authorities and anyone else involved, how about you play nice, pay up, and let sexy little handle this?

>What're they paying a girl like you, to mess with us on their behalf? I doubt it's enough.
*Laugh* Oh, it's not nearly enough. But they know that. And are they going to owe me for this. Gives a girl power.
>>

Looks like they just sent off a ton of extra senses. Echolocation, different visual ranges, et cetera. That bomb has to be in hearing range, so it should be in their range. Hopefully they can't do anything about it without us noticing.

So, pros and cons of putting these guys in contact with the Lollipops. Pros: We convince them whatever payment they're making is temporary, because the guys they're paying to are going to go down soon, which may make convincing them to pay now easier. Con: They'll expect to get their money back, and probably more. Pro: A temporary alliance of Lollipops to Waxers could open up opportunities for more cooperation, make contacts and get Unity moving up in the world. Cons: These guys seem to be in a higher league than the Lollipops (based on them being asked for more money and needing this bomb to negotiate with them), so they might muscle in and take over the whole takedown, which will make a mess with the cops we're trying to do the same with, and they might end up taking all the extra profits we want out of this. Worst case, they manage to take all the blackmail material and then the Lollipops (and Unity) are in even more trouble than before. Extra con: arms dealing isn't the kind of business we really want to get into.

Instead of getting them in contact with the Lollipops themselves, though, we could just slip enough of a hint of a way to get in touch with Lace, acting as if the LPs are just an intermediary. Say that right now you're just here to handle this deal, and "if you want to get to know me more personally, you'll have to ask someone else -" (conspicuous lollipop) "- to put you in touch with me another time." Then we can just put the word on the Lollipops to pass along anyone looking for Lace, and set up a meeting with a division that looks like her, and all they'll know is that the 'pops just facilitated it. Then we can feel things out better and if the 'pops turn out not to want the contact we can just give them some minimal answers and burn the Lace identity.

As for answering the question... hmm. I wonder how good of a bet it would be to say these guys are the ones who were dealing with that jetalium liquifier? The evidence we collected might be what led to this.

If you don't want to make that bet, say that you weren't told specifically, but you know that your employers occasionally acquire information and resources that other people are... invested in, and they accept payments in exchange for protection of those investments. That you haven't been informed as to the specifics is only an example of the confidentiality your employers guarantee to their clients.

Maybe stick in a comment somewhere about them being able to blast the club down but clearly not deciding to do so, and that it was at least worth the time and battery for them to come here and listen or else they wouldn't be here.

I doubt it. But if it is them, then we absolutely can NOT pull up a lollipop as a hint!

Oh? You think I'm cute? Why thank you!

>What're they paying a girl like you, to mess with us on their behalf? I doubt it's enough.
I'm thinking we can be hired help and tell them, "Well, it was enough, but now I'm thinking of demanding some hazard pay when I get back!"

Or we could be another victim and tell them, "My payment is them not releasing the blackmail they have on me."

Another option is to do what Rike said and be "something easy on the eyes but still doesn't take any shit". We've got the first part down, maybe we can start getting a little bit of an attitude to show that we're serious about this whole thing? Maybe that's too risky.

>How do we know this isn't Rike and company in disguise?
Unity doesn't know, but if this is an elaborate loyalty test, then Rike's resources are well past what the syndicate would have ever guessed.

"Oh I'm going to be negotiating with them for a higher pay than they'd like to give, I think, but that's for me to worry about. I may be in the dark, but does it matter what they stole? It's something you want, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered with negotiations. Force solves a lot of problems, but it doesn't help if the information or items you don't want getting out are launched out as soon as one of my employers is killed. From what I know of them, I'm betting that's what this involves. Subtlety has is bonuses. I do that, as a negotiator." Lace says, bringing a lollipop to her mouth. "If you want to get to know me more personally, you'll have to ask someone else." she says, staying perfectly still except for her lollipop, which she rolls around on her tongue.

She wonders about how to best ask for a private line, but Nelm begins approaching her.

>"Do they also hire fighters, and then put blindfolds on them? Because that seems to be what's going on here. And what if we don't pay? Do you expect us to think they're not bluffing when they say they'll let out some information? That information is all they have. Once they let it out, the damage they can do is done, and we have nothing to lose by vaporizing them. As stupid as they may be, they're not suicidal. They either die by holding onto hot info we don't want them to have, or they die by letting it out."

Nelm reaches up take takes a hold of Lace's hand. He sends pulses that resonate throughout Lace's body, down to the extreme ends of each strand of fur. It's jarring, though not unpleasant or harmful.

He then begins tapping code into Lace.

>"I began to think you a terribly naive jetal who had no clue what she stumbled into, but that lollipop changes matters. You are with the syndicate? Or are you also employed by them? They are being blackmailed too, I presume. Keep on negotiating out loud for the audio bugs that are here."

You said it yourself, then. My employers are dead either way, and have nothing to lose to pressing for a better deal. Suicidal means something different to the desperate. Are you so willing to shoot yourself in the foot to prevent someone else from profiting? Will you be smart, or vengeful?

>You are with the syndicate? Or are you also employed by them?
Yes, I work for the syndicate. A destructive hit on the blackmailers would be easily accomplished, but there's no guarantee they wouldn't release their material before a strike team locates it. I'm the subtler option. Infiltration.

As you should be able to tell by this meeting, and that they trusted it to the new girl, they're getting sloppy, and they've let me in. If I walk away from this meeting reporting success, I'll have the trust and access I need to get at their goods.

Oookay then. To say out loud: "Vaporizing them isn't going to do you much good either, once your info is out, and that vaporization isn't guaranteed. Do you think someone who runs this kind of business doesn't know to be somewhere else when they have to... cut ties with a client? They make a lot of effort to be very visibly present at that club, and that's something an intelligent jetal such as yourself should consider. But please, let's not think of this in adversarial terms. My employers want to move up in the world, as we all do. Don't think of this as crude blackmail, but the opening to further relationships. Once the initial payment is made, and the next few have passed to show your reliability, I'm sure that renegotiation for alternate transactions could be made at some point. Think of my client's information as just a... security, for them."

To communicate back secretly: "I like to think I project a charming naivete, but yes! I am the hand of the syndicate in this matter, infiltrating this group with the goal of retrieval - and of ensuring that they learn their lesson harshly, once I'm away with what I need. Events are already in motion, but a good performance from me here should smooth and speed everything considerably. My original plans were to grab the best of the other information they have as well, when I go - the rest will have to be left for the police. I could make sure that your information leaves in my hands as well, however, and I would of course return it to you. The syndicate is much wiser than this clubhouse gang. Tell me, does this have anything to do with a jetalium liquifier?"

Lace continues speaking in normal speech patterns out loud.

"Vaporizing them won't do you much good either, but are you saying my employers are dead either way? If you say you're going to kill them no matter what, then they'll certainly release what they have, with nothing else to lose from it. Plus, I'm sure they have well rehearsed ways to vanish when they need to cut ties. But let's shy away from adversarial talks and say that this isn't crude blackmail, but an opening to further, better relationships - once the initial payment is made and the next few ensure reliability, renegotiation possibilities could be made at some point."
>"If that's what this relationship is going to be like, we'd soonder vaporize them without a thought sooner than pay what you're asking. 5 million a month, forever? Don't make us laugh at the same joke twice. Re-think your numbers. And I know what you're going to say - you're in the dark and dumb as a wiped mind, but do it anyway, because I bet the numbers you come up with will be better than your employer's ridiculous sum."

While that conversation goes, code talk continues.

"Yes, I'm with the syndicate. Are you friends with them?"
>"Are you serious? Maybe I was right the first time, you're ten laps out of your league."
"I'm relatively new. Are you sure there's only audio, by the way?"
>"Yes I am sure. As for the syndicate, we have no friendship. What we have is an understanding. So keep talking."
"Okay. Vaporizing the blackmailers is easy, but there's no guarantee they wouldn't release their material before a strike team locates it. I'm the subtler option, infiltration. If I walk away from this meeting successfully, I'll have better trust and access that I need to get to their goods. Are you interested in cutting a deal? >"Possibly. But if you're a no-name negotiator who doesn't even know where your syndicate stands with the waxers, then I want to talk to the deal with someone who's in a position to make deals with us. Who's your boss in the syndicate?"

Continue with the the back and fourth negotiations out loud. Keep at the 30/5 sum for awhile. Hammer the points of just how much money they will loose in the long term if this sort of info gets out. Why making a simple monthly payment is much better than the unknown costs of being revealed. After a bunch of hardballing for the listening in Rike if they have not bulged begin to go down a bit in your negotiations. Like 30 up front but a mil a month from there on in.

On the secret line:

Giving you my bosses name directly would be horribly irresponsible don't you think? If you can give me a secret cell line I can ask him if its ok. Or I can give you a name of a grunt that can get in contact with my boss instantly (Scurps).

Might be time for the show of strength. Try one more time with the negotiation, out loud: "The numbers are better if you consider future possibilities. My employers' business is growing rapidly, and you could be in on the ground floor of a valuable business partnership. They could likely be willing to help you out now and then, pull some strings, do favors, and provide access to... things you might want." (flirty body language here) "I, for example, have several special talents. With a relationship to my employers, you would have access to my services. Only an example, of course. For demonstration."

And if/when that fails, go on (still out loud): "No? Well, then, there go my hopes for this to be pleasant and friendly. I'm very sorry to say that if you don't leave here 30 million the poorer, with future arrangements to be made, then none of us will leave here at all, and we will all be poorer, by much more than 30 million in your cases, I suspect."

In secret: "Of course, sir. Fern is my handler. However, we can take our time on that negotiation, since it really is in your best interest to give the 30 million now, with this unfortunate LP-105 situation. Not only because it going off will be unfortunate for all of us, in itself, but also because we've put a tracking device on it, for its eventual retrieval by the club gang. For which it needs to stay unexploded."

Mentioning the bomb (and that we already disabled it) in code speak might be one way of buying more trust, but if they mess with it at all, we've lost our tracker to the loot.

Mentioning it out loud is a bad idea. If serious news jetals new about an explosive, they would spread out so not all of them could be hit, and likely put someone on disabling it. They're at least as good as Scrups is, possibly. So if the audio mike hears us mention the bomb, the blackmailers will think we're fucked.

Those are good points. Besides which, if we only tell him about the bomb secretly, then it comes off as us offering him an advantage by virtue of our true purpose and syndicate connection, and it'll come off as more exclusive and fortunate for him, and he's more likely to be grateful instead of resenting the strongarm attempt. This basically a dual negotiation/assassination attempt by Rike and his gang, and if we tip him off to the latter that's a favor coming from us. If Lace doesn't present herself so much as using it, but as something that her employers have set up that she just knows about, then it's not her doing the bomb threatening.

Ok, yeah, we should present it like that, then. Make sure to mention the specific type of bomb, maybe warn him to keep calm first. "In the interests of good relations between yourself and my real superiors, I should warn you that the dance club gang have set up a trap. Please allow me to explain, before you do anything: these negotiations are plan A. Plan B is an assassination attempt. An LP-105 is set to go off nearby if the immediate transaction doesn't come through. Obviously, I'd like to avoid that, not only to avoid the loss to myself and to you, but because I've arranged to place a tracker on the bomb for its retrieval afterwards."

You'll need to do this quickly enough that he'll have a chance to "accept" your audible negotiation points.

Or he'll just code talk to his buddies and they'll look for it, then disarm and destroy it, making the tracker Scurps just put on there worthless and would make us unable to follow the drone to steal the bomb for the syndicate.

Or they end up saying something out loud and Rike's audio bugs would hear it. Which is risky because we still don't know if Rike can remote detonate the bomb or not.

>"I'll ask the obvious question. What's to prevent them from 'renegotiating' to 6 million a month? 7? 8?"
"Let me speculate with what little I know. Their business is growing, and fast. They want a quick buck through stuff like this. Waiting months to get away with 6, a year to get away with 7... it's not suiting what growth they want. They want to lay the foundations of a stable, valuable business partnership, and they want to do it too fast to bother with nickel and diming. So fast that they're willing to do things like this just to stick their foot in the door. Think of it like this - you paying them means you become valuable to them, and it means you have a bit leverage on them for help. Favors, pulling strings, access to things they have that you might want." she says, sticking her hips out to the side and her chest out. "And people like me on their payroll. If you're into people like me. >"Good girl. I was beginning to think you weren't going to share with the rest of us. We aren't minding that if you aren't."
"By the way, does all of this have anything to do with a jetalium liquifier?"
>"Who knows. Ask your employers."

One of the other jetals pulls out a phone and tosses it to Lace, who absorbs it into her body to make a silent call through a backdoor of the jammer. It could be monitored and hacked, so Scurps is called on one of his burner phones.

>"Hello. This is?" an artificial voice says.
"Your recent little pet partner. I have some people who call themselves waxers who need to speak to our boss."
>"One second."

Precisely one second later, another different, but equally artificial voice comes on.
>"Keep the phone connected, and hand it back to the waxers."

Lace does so, and a brief, likely high-speed conversation is held. Nelm sends more code in, while the audio bug is still catching the negotiations that are being held concurrently still.

>"I'm glad to see the syndicate pulled the lollipops from their butts and acknowledged the nicknames." says Nelm.
>"Oh, no, don't get me wrong, the jumbo sized lollipops are still up there firm and tight. I didn't approve of the name, except she's gone on to be the sweetest, most naive, pure soul in the whole undermarket and I'll be damned if that didn't turn out to be a sickeningly appropriate name. Now, business. We hate the clubbers, you hate the clubbers. Sugartooth is obviously getting in good with those chumps, and is going to find where all their blackmail is. You know the syndicate isn't much into blackmailing the big crowds, and we're not about to change our practices when it's convenient. You help our candy look sweeter to them, you get the blackmail back, and the money you spend on negotiating."
>"We want collateral. We don't know where that 30 million is going, or whether or not your jetal is going to succeed. We want you to wire that money to us instead, then we'll give your girl 30 million in cash right here. She can use that."
>"Oh, because great warrior sugartooth can totally protect and enforce getting that. You give her the cash, then when she gets all the way out, we wire the cash"

"Not that I want to interrupt you fine gentlemen but maybe we should focus on future events and not old mistakes? While there may be some mistrust between our organizations maybe we can take this moment to try and mend fences?

"I know we have been giving a silly show for the listening devices but my speech about forming new business relationships could apply to the syndicate and the waxers as well. Maybe each side could front half of the amount as a show of trust?"

How about a little wager gentlemen?

If I can please you 4(6) with my "pathetic D rank hacked sex module" then you will have to admit that Fern's confidence in me is not misplaced and you front the 30 million.

If you are fine with that plan slowly work your way into agreeing to the 30 million in our vocal conversation. I think the thing is that the Waxers need to pay us 30mil now as per what we're supposed to ask for. >Can't all the transactions be done over the wire?
From some hints that were dropped around, it sounds like the clubbers are expecting cash.

"It's better than it looks. I'm sure you've noticed it's been hacked, and it gives me an edge, so much so that it barely even matters what its rank is."
>"That a feedback hack?"
"Yes."
>"Fine, get down on your hands and knees and suck my cock then, put me in a good mood while I think about it."

On the phone, everyone flings words.

"Sirs, let's please do away with the posturing. It's just us. Nelm, I'm sure what the clubbers have is worth well over 30 million if they're trying to put you all on a payment plan. If you trust me to get near it, I don't think 30 million is a big addition."
>"About that. We don't trust you. We want you to stay on contact with us at all times. We want to be involved in getting our shit out of there instead of you getting your hands on it first."
"Before we talk about that, I think it's customary here to wire half at the start, half at the end."

There's some grumbling and more posturing to that. Most lobbyists think it's an annoying sight to see both parties be petty at each other, but Lace can't freely speak her mind on that.

"You know, if you want my services, Nelm, we could bet that if I satisfy you, you pay the 30 million, and if I don't, Fern wires the 30 million in full to you right away?"
>"You know what? Yeah, sure." says Nelm. "Fern?"
>"Yeah, that's fine, cept why why the hell stop there? If she's pulls that off, throw in an extra 5 mil for advance payment out of your own pocket." says Fern. "Make her look real good!"
>"Fine, but only if this is just a hacked module and there's no cheapass stunt or technicality you pull. She's got to make me melt from the pleasure. If she fails, you wire us 35 million!"
>"Fine! But you've got to let her keep you hacked for a full 10 minutes, I don't want any shit about you saying you're soooo unsatisfied while you're quivering!"
>"You think I'm even gonna feel anything? You actually believe that shit about 'it's not the rank of the module, it's how you use it? You're on then. 10 minutes with the hack, bet for who puts the 30 million on the line, plus 5 extra million to spend as the winner pleases."

The usual tactic will most likely be used, involving choosing a lone AI to be in the lobby to meet with Nelm, then a slow increase in AI's that enter the lobby to increase the feedback level.

Be on your guard, with all those eyes this guy seems like he could be a specialist in snooping, which may include hacking. We could probably defeat anything that he tries, but just make sure he doesn't discover more than he needs to.

And put on a show for his associates while you're at work with the hack, get them interested as well.

Now, as for that "we want to be involved in getting our shit out of there" thing. We need to tell them that we've already made arrangements for a lot of trouble to come tumbling down on the clubbers once you've gotten your info, and having someone else tag along, or constant surveillance, could cause you problems and endanger the whole endeavor, since we can be sure that wherever the clubbers keep their blackmail material is where they'll have stacked all the surveillance they can. That's why being one of them is the best way to get in.

Here's a counter-proposal: they loan you another division module and the jetalium to create a decently massed division. Then a division with your core stays somewhere where you're in their eye and in their reach - effectively, you'll put yourself up as collateral/hostage for the safe return of their stuff. Once you have it, you'll arrange a nice secure tradeoff somewhere where you're let go and they get what they want, along with the module and jetalium returned. All you'll need for the duration of the arrangement is the chance to rejoin and split off your divisions again from time to time. "And the bonus? While my core division is with you, she'll be at you and your associates' service. As you're about to find out, you'll like that."

Nelm grips her ears and drags her face towards him. Although he doesn't give the impression that he's being rough, he appears to be posturing towards Lace as well by putting her in traditionally submissive positions and handles.

Even if it's just the mouth, Lace is giving a strong tingling sensation as Nelm starts thrusting at her face. It's an alarmingly strong sensation considering he's only rubbing at her mouth, and it might have made a challenge if a minimal amount of people were sent in with this division. As it is, the worst case scenario is that a few people are going to get screwed hard enough to get mentally stunned. His tail loops between his legs, and runs down Lace's cleavage and through her top, fishing the bottom out from the skirt. He then starts pulling it back up.

Fern and Nelm continue negotiating, but it doesn't take long to start hitting roadblocks as they get on each other's nerves.

His core runs down his arm and into his hand, where a slight cavity forms through his palm for Lace to reach into. Healer volunteers, on sheer merit of already having similar ears. He puts her in the same position as the physical bodies, possibly because it's easier to coordinate doing that.

"That it? I barely feel anything." Nelm says over the phone. Even though the feedback loop should be handing Healer's sensations back to him, his capacity may be enormous, even by jaded standards.
"Give it a moment." Lace says back. "By the way, we've already made arrangements for a lot of trouble coming down on the clubbers, and having people tag along is going to endanger it."
"You expect us to just entrust this to an outside source with no insurance."
"Oh, no, but here's a proposal. If you lend us a division module, I'll have my core division stay with you guys."
"Hm. That's tempting, if just as collateral."

Every few seconds, then, more and more contestants spill into the lobby, out of sight, to stack on the feelings. It starts getting to him. Although his physical body is virtually unreadable, his inner core lets out a sharp breath of air.

"Your friends are welcome to help you out. You can do what you like with my body, and you can turn me into an amorphous pile of goo, if I can't do the same to you first."
"They'll get their turn if you're collateral, but right now there's no point. You're going to need to do more than this to satisfy me."

There's a burst of static as the jetals communicate to each other. One of them outputs more energy into a jammer, and Unity can feel her division get more separated from her core. They're attempting to break up the division's cohesion, but with her mechanics, it's not affecting her whatsoever.

"Come on now, what kind of jetal are you?" he asks. "Just how far away is your core? You're not normal."

A girl never tells to many secrets. But I do have more expertise with sex modules and division control than anyone I have met to date.

Keep slowly ramping things up as we go. Make it look like we are working harder to increase the sensations so it does not look like we are doing this effortlessly. Also maybe look like our division is not ignoring there jamming entirely.

Audio: Tell them to stop jamming you. You need to be present for negotiations!

Private: Tell them you aren't normal, that is true. Would that make you more valuable as collateral? It might be difficult to explain to the clubbers when your core goes missing though.

I'm good at what I do.

And a girl's got to have a few secrets. Especially in bed.

Naughty boy, trying to cheat, instead of relying on your own skill.

Keep ramping up, don't give him more information or a better explanation.

"H-hey, quit jamming, I need to be present for negotiations!" Lace says, shakily, through a speaker since her normal speaker had a jetalium rod running through it, before returning to phone speak.

"A girl never tells too many secrets, but I can say that I have more expertise with sex modules and division control than anyone I've met to date. That just makes me better collateral, doesn't it?"
"Yeah I'm gonna cut you off right there." says Fern. "Your core's more collateral than they need. If you're going to keep your core with them and they use you like this, they're gonna have to pay extra!."
"Well name your price, because even if I'm not satisfied, this poofy slut is making me feel things I haven't felt in years." Nelm says. "She'll be real popular."
"5 million a day, fuckers."

....

"That was a joke, assholes." Fern continues.
"We're considering it. Let's see how hard she lasts."
"Till then," says Lace, "don't be so naughty, trying to cheat instead of using your own skill."
"The hell's he doing? Fern says.

The jammer remains as it is, and another static burst comes, this time the response is the largest jetal beginning to contort and bend over behind Lace. He starts ripping her skirt in half, which in Lace's opinion, is completely unnecessary. AI's still flood the lobby, and Nelm is starting to shake.

Shit, that'd be great if we got a cut of it. Time to see how much of a cut we can get, ask Fern to split it 60/40 since you'd be doing all the damn work.

"Nothing that'll help him, Fern! Remember my name?" Lace says into the phone. "Of course I can handle it, I'm the Princess of sucking off lollipops. Bring it on! If they accept that kind of deal, I'd let my core have more fun with them for a few days."

Some of Lace's tails go to mess around with the big jetal, but he brushes them aside and inserts himself in. A core hits Lace, and that core's image goes in. It only has one head.

"Uh, Alison. We might have a problem." says Duelist, off to the side.
"Are you worried about healer?"
"Yeah.
"Don't be! Fern nearly knocked me unconscious, and even though I probably looked in really bad shape, it was great. She'll be fine! Plus, you've been practicing with her, so it shouldn't be nearly that intense even with a new core. She does look like she's having an awfully intense time, now that you mention it."

Duelist nods to her.

"Actually, that's the new thing. They're not just having intercourse with healer for show, they're actually having sex with her! It's not like before, where Fern was only present. She's getting the full brunt of two high ranking sex modules, plus the two physical modules Lace is feeling. If they do screw Healer unconscious, she might be okay, and we won't be affected, but to them, Healer is the only AI in here. It's going to look far, far too suspicious that Lace is still functional at all. We could just dump another few dozen AIs nearby, but if we just knock him out, that won't satisfy him."

We could ramp up the feedback even more so they're on the edge of blacking out, just like Healer seems to be.

If we can swap out Healer with some lobby bullshit (can she exit the lobby without moving?) that'd be the perfect solution. Alternatively we could have someone pop in right with her appearance as she passes out, and explain it as a failsafe built into your core for this exact situation. Then the "new" Healer could continue where the original left off, and the original can step out of the lobby.

Feign some loss of cohesion, and when they let their guard down, ramp up the rate AI's enter- Not so much to cause a black out, but enough.
>>
No. 779209 ID: 3abd97

Okay, so Healer has to swap out. To accomplish this:

1) Grab someone who's a tier 2.
2) Smuggler sells that person a Healer body mod
3) Smuggler sells that person Swap Position: Rank 5 - During the move phase, but before any movement has been made, the user may swap a position with a willing target. The range of this is equal to the rank.
4) That person enters the lobby and swaps with Healer. If they notice her flicker, they'll assume it's her struggling to stay conscious, or struggling with the jammer.
5) Repeat 1-4 as necessary.

Gambler, Twirl, Sword, Shield, Charles, Spear, Chief, Math, Engineer, Friendgy, and Succubus are the named people who never left tier 2. Pretty much anyone else who didn't get the expensive tier 3 upgrade can be assumed to still be a tier 2.

So... who's first?

"Oh! I heard Succubus used her shapeshift ability to change shape instead of using the shopkeeper. That means abilities can still be used here. We have people with Swap Position, and Smuggler, so we can have people transform into healer and tag out with her." Alison says, and how things end up going. Otherwise, no one has any idea how to convincingly swap places with Healer without her just getting up and leaving, followed by a fake-healer coming back.

Twirl is the first. She transforms into Healer, and sends a teleport. Healer seems to try to hold out for a moment, then teleports.

"Hahh! D-did someone just swap?" she asks.
"Yes, with someone who looks like you. You can relax." Duelist says. "Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah. Better than okay."

The waxers notice the slight jitter in position as teleports are made, but they don't appear to care.

Swaps are continually made as everyone ramps up their efforts. The large jetal doesn't last nearly as long, and starts losing his shape. He shudders, and seems to fall out of Lace's core more than leaves of his own accord. Nelm struggles to hold out for 10 minutes, but there's too much.

It's still an impressive amount, considering that over 80 contestants had to be used just to overwhelm a couple of jetals.

Nelm erupts into Lace, who swallows the liquid confirmation that he has a jetalicum module.

>"Okay." he says over the phone. "You win. As agreed, we'll pay 5 million a day for your core as collateral, up to 3 days of it. Then we see where we're at, and renegotiate as necessary. We'll leave 35 million in cash with you right now. If you want to 'negotiate' in front of Rike for that additional 5 mil, that's what we'll do, then you'll look better for the clubbers. Up to you."
>"We'd take a slice if it's the latter. Just 20%, then the rest is yours." says Fern.

In other words, Lace has the option to spend that 5 million on the clubbers to make it seem like she went above and beyond expectations, or keep 4 million it for herself and 1 million for Fern.

One of the other jetals drops a suitcase, then they all gather themselves and take off into the skies. The jammer leaves with them, as does the phone that Lace was using.

Lace collects herself and confirms all the cash is there.

She then follows the directions to go north into the tunnel under the outhouse to find the bike and a cell phone. She uses it to make contact with Rike and no one else, since the phone could have been bugged.

"I've got it."
>"You succeeded? It's all there?"
"Yes."
>"... good. Good! Yes, okay. We'll be giving you cuts for your work. Real cuts, not pocket change. For starters, if you really have all of it, you can have one million of that. If you keep doing work for us, that 30 million will be pocket change before long. Come back to the club, and fill me in on the details. Till then, here's where you go to get out of there."

There's no surprises as Lace drives through the passage. She exits a similar house out in the middle of nowhere, but before taking the bike back to town, she orders a remote delivery to get a burner phone. She activates it to safely re-establish contact with Fern.

>"This is?"
"Sugartooth! I just got a phone."

He asks a few questions to make sure it's her.

>"Okay. Was wondering when you'd call back. Can't believe I threw down 5 mil. Should've been more."
"Am I really worth that much?"
>"Girl, high level criminals that jaded themselves like that will pay anything to give what you gave them. I'm real reluctant to let your core in with them, 'cause they might just want to hang onto you."
"You'd sell me out?!"
>"You kidding? The thought of me letting them entice you over to their side makes me sick. And after what you pulled off what you did, you're forcing me to acknowledge just how valuable to us you are. With the money you're pulling in, we might not leak all our secrets to you, but you can reach in deep to get modules on loan. Better rank ups, another division module or two."

>"Or three."

>"Hell, do ten. The syndicate's got resources to throw around, but you know what, Sugartooth? I just spoke with your division that had your core."

He called the core division when we had no phone to keep the divisions in contact. He just had to ask a few pointed questions about what was going on with the waxers, and there would be no way of hiding it.

If we want to hide it better in the future we need to come up with some foolproof method of communication between divisions.

Well, we're super valuable now, so it should be fine - the particular skillset that makes us so desirable (at least, the infiltration/spying side of it) is one which we need to be given a lot of freedom to use, so we're unlikely to get trapped. Fern will want answers and we should give him some, secrets for secrets, but we don't need to tell everything. Perhaps it's even time to let him know we're technically a noble? If we're careful about it, this might let us climb even higher than we once did. But that's for the next thread.

Good job, everyone.
