You wake up in the... hospital room. Your thoughts are kinda hazy and you can't remeber how you got here.

Commander. Finally back among the living. You must have a lot of questions regarding your current condition.

You remember woman in the labcoat, Dr.Mitchell, head of the medical devision of this base.

Jackie and Fuse returned back to the guest-house.
After a couple of hours spent on recuperating from a major indigestion, Jackie and Fuse are back in action... more or less.
[shit. we need to get off this planet ASAP.]

Lefty is back.
Lefty: commander. i almsot finished with the Conqueress. how was the village tour? you look kinda green...
>We need to warn lefty before she makes the same mistake as us
Jackie: don't eat anything here...
Fuse: (BARF)
Jackei: i'm serious...
Lefty: ok. so what's with meeting? i would assume making someone wait is universally frown upon, even here. they did grant us entry into their village, but i still sense caution and even fear. i would prefer if whole squad attended the meeting... preferably armed. we need to play safe here. you need remeber commander we are still behind the lines on enemy territory.

A) attend to meeting alone unarmed
B) attend to meeting along with your squad unarmed
C) attend to meeting along with your squad armed
D) request so the meeting is being held at the guest-house.
E) request so the meeting is being held outside the village walls.

Um, Fuse ate that dog thing fine. Maybe we can survive on alien dog food? (I doubt we'd be welcome long if we started eating all the pets).

>>664045
This isn't enemy territory, at the moment. The Mad legion doesn't hold this settlement, even if they have forces on this planet.

We're guests in this town, and we just engaged what was technically a joint military exercise. Which at worst puts on footing here as mercs, and at best as tentative allies. In those circumstances, showing up armed to the teeth like you expect betrayal or a fight is a big sign of disrespect. We need to be leveraging maximum spunk here, not picking a fight.

Go with a or b. I don't object to bringing our people along, but we're not here to fight.

Jackie: i will turn my comm-link on during the meeting, if something is up, be ready to to come in gus balzing.

-on the meeting with the village elder.

R-Zah: my name is R-Zah, i'm the village elder. i heard about your exploits from R-Tur. he speaks highly of you. i value his word as this village protector... but i only trust what i see with my own eyes.
Jackie: ...
R-Zah: you came here alone and unarmed. wich speaks greatly of your true nature. wich i hope bears no ill intent towards my people.

R-Zah: 45 years ago i was a simple temple acolite, our daily job was tending to needs of a guardian and his disciple. one morning, me and my sisters were on our way to the sun temple, it was then we met an unusual traveler. she was a being not of this world. all traveler asked for was a place to stay for a few days. ways of our ancestors demanded that we provided shelter weary traveler. looking back at it now... i curse the day we let that "thing" into our live. she stayed for a couple of days. spending most of them with a "circle of elders". on a third day she left this very room covered in blood of the elders. relic of sun was clenched in her fist. then she headed for the temple, where she killed R-Tur's predecessor. later on the same day a beam of light illuminated sky above the temple and the "legion" came. i saw her again later commanding collosal war-machines now with others of your kin. many of my friends and family where slaughtered for reasons we yet to understand.

Did this girl or any other of the dittos leave anything behind? An old piece of armor you grabbed of a dead on, a symbol, anything like that? If you do it would give me a better idea on who attacked you and why."

Oh and if she starts getting pissy about trusting you and blah blah blah do feel free to point out the fact that the mad legion is a race of mind controlling aliens, for all we know they could have simply mind controlled a large group of dittos they beat and used them as a vanguard/cannon fodder for the opening attack.

I am a ditto. A clone. When one of your people proves themselves, copies can be made. New children, siblings with the same face, same potential, but different lives.

It saddens you greatly to learn that one of your siblings is responsible for the suffering here. Even more troubling to hear she brought an entire batch with her, but you never heard tale of their disappearance before.

I can only hope my actions speak louder than my face. I am an enemy of the mad legion, and if any of my ditto sisters stand with them, I am their enemy as well.

I can only hope you give me a chance to redeem this dishonor on my line.

(I am not sure they have clones here, and since the idea of artificially growing people would seem unnatural and gross to them I think we should talk in terms of siblings.)
Say that they sound like they were some of our sisters. Explain that in your world some people have many dozens or hundreds of siblings, though you do now know why any of them would help the Legion when the Legion is hostile to everything. Say that you are sad that any of your kin would so such a thing and that you apologize, and ask if they had any symbols or markings on their armor so that we might be able to find out which of our sisters it was.

(Wait, does K-Zel count as a villager, as a refugee? Have we only been forbidden interaction with civvies, can we follow up with R-Tur?).

Warn your squad that there might be hostile dittos with your face hereabouts. Just in case one tries to impersonate you- they should be prepared if "you" start acting weird. Set up call and response password(s) just in case.

Lefty could use a brain probe thing for a solid ID one way or the other if it's ever really necessary (your memories are one thing no ditto can fake, even in the worst case where passwords are compromised) but we only have so many of those.

We need salvage, really, really fucking badly. Gotta fix this tank. If your kind were here 45 years ago, we need to find the battlegrounds where conflict happened, and get the tank up and running, then we need to find out if there is another lead.

-Ask the elder if K-zel is ok, what will happen to her, and if she is free to speak with us as she is not of this village. Maybe she will join up.
-See if R-tur can chit chat, and if there is anything else to blow up.
-See if there are any things that the elder needs taken care of.
-We gotta go hunting anyway, get some real food.

Lefty: what?
Jackie: R-Tur mentioned that sun temple where used as some kind of portal to warp legion to this planet. maybe we can find another working one.

A) yes

A) This will have consequences, but your mental state will plummet if you leave K-Zel here only to watch her die to a public execution or the Mad Legion. She wants to help, so let her help.

Send Fuze to hunt with professionals. And bring the tank.

>taking help from K-Zel would probably backfire on her. should we accept her help?
Her situation isn't very good if we accept. If she gets exiled, there's no knowing if we'll find another village for her. If she travels with us, she's a non-com civie in a combat situation. She might even end up coming back with us, which leaves her stranded in the wrong dimension.

I feel like the right answer to this is B. But she's an adult, able to make her own decisions, not to be patronized. But your crew needs help, and it's damn hard to turn down willing help. We can't stop informed enlisting.

Restate the risks, be frank about the dangers. If she still won't back down, accept her help. That means we're then responsible for her, like any of the rest of the crew.

If/when we accept her help, she should still distance herself from us, do what we can separately. See what information we can learn before getting exiled. (Is there a library or something? Could look up temple locations).

A and send her with fuse so she doesn't end up actually killing someone else's pet. Try to keep it to actual wild game seeing as we're kinda on thin ice already with the elder. Also if they're both gone with no one to see them it might take the village longer to notice K-zel is helping us and by the time they do notice they'll hopefully warmed up to us enough not to punish her.

As for what the rest of the party can do, scout around a bit, with the squid nest out of action the area should have a bit more breathing room for us to scout around with out running into TO much trouble. We can also stay in radio contact with Fuse and K-zel if we need to ask K directions.
