A damn good question. I still have like about eight hours until my next shift, so... Where to?
I can't just hand over the chip, I'd go to jail. Me and Blondie both. So I need to figure out where this damn chip came from. Any ideas on how to do that?
Also, which way do you think I should go first?

Running a search on the serial number of the chip to see who the original manufacturer is and who bought it would be a start. Then moving on to where it was resold after determining that and so on until we get to our furred friend seems the way to go.

The second part will need leg work but the initial work just needs a computer. Would 81st have the access?

There's a very high likelihood that the chip wasn't procured legally. This means a lot of fieldwork to determine where the breach of protocol was (either theft or black market deals). The basic gist is the same as >>58030, start off at the beginning and work it down to when the furries got a hold of it.

Just a hunch... be ready to run or move. It might be a military or otherwise restricted chip, with tracers on it to tell when such information is being accessed.

BSoD? Dammit... at least we got through the message to run if she got detected.

Okay, let's access street/traffic cameras, search for any kind of speaker to contact Joanne through. There are often those speakers at traffic lights to direct blind people across the street. If need be, we might be able to set off car alarms to make sure she gets out of there.

"There's more to it than that. Joanne here is a understandably caught up in her stake in this. But there's more at stake than that. The furry you removed the chip from contacted us before we met Joanne. He had a chip and was on the Wire. This is potentially the beginning of something dangerous, and we could not risk it being overlooked.

"Turns out the stakes were higher than even we had imagined. Had we not convinced Joanne to investigate the furries would have recovered the corpse along with the chip, and you'd be several shades of crimson decorating the morgue's walls.

"And yes, this will likely get Joanne promoted which, from what we've seen, she deserves. It's a win-win scenario. We're just sorry it had to involve you in this mess, although we do appreciate everything you've done to help."

Well, there's three ways I could do this. I could go to one of the big name brands, Kyocera, Konami-Fujitsu, Silica 'nall that. They cost an arm and a leg, an they have a two-week line at best. But they got all kinds of guarantees and support plans an shit.
I could go to some local head-shop and get a custom chip. Custom is just a fancy name for "shit they slapped together in the back room", but some of them do very good work. It's hit or miss really. I got mine from one of the locals, but they ain't in business anymore.
Or I could try to find a black market chip. That's even more hit or miss. They got some top-o-the-line experimental shit an pretty cheap too, but if ya don't know who to talk to you'll wind up with a brain-infection an' missin kidneys.

Make sure to be respectful. Rastas don't tend to be too strict on expected behavior, but they don't appreciate anyone harshing their mellow. So be confident, but not cocky. Focused, but not pushy. Don't appear nervous at all and you should be fine.

>"Awight bwoy. Mebbe I an I be doin bizness."

Hell yeah. Still got it.

So, looks like he's got quite a few guns in here. And a price-list. Cute.
Let's see.

H&K UMP for 700. An all 'round SMG. A bit on the large side.
FN P90 for 760. Nice and compact. Oughta be enough.
A .454 Casull longslide for 420. Fuckin a as far as pistols go. If that doesn't punch it nothing will.
A Steyr TMP is 570. Yon standard machine pistol I guess.
A lupara 400. Looks homemade. And awesome.

I've left out a lot of smaller caliber pistols and jesus christ is that an M4? Are these guys going to war or something? It's a bit bulky for me, and it costs 1100. So yeah maybe not.

What should I pick? The lupara, the TMP and the Casull are the easiest to conceal, the SMG's not so much.

Huhm. I'm not exactly sure how I should do this. Now, if it was furries we'd seal the perimeter, get the chopper on standby, one team contain the stairwells and a second team sweeping and clearing one floor at a time. Not really applicable here, eh.

But lessee... I've only been in there once, not really my kinda club. Lots of rich white kids, prob'ly some high-end drug sales, some shitty DJ tryin his best to look like a total ass-hat. Also the booze costs three times what it should.
The place is in three floors. Bottom floor has the main dance floor an a bandstand plus a bar, the second floor had a bar, the bathrooms, some tables an shit. The third floor had a bunch of pretty secluded stalls if I remember correctly. That's probably where my man Kim Gu is hidin at.
There was an elevator in there but the last time I was there it wasn't working. One stairwell, plus a fire escape that only goes up to the second floor.
Now Cyberia has a strict no-weapons policy and they have a scanner at the front door. They keep a weapon lockup there too I think. I wasn't packin last time.

We can dig up the floorplan while I go and get my new threads. Anythin specific y'all need to figure out a plan?

Well, the fire escape is very intresting. They always have alarms if you open them but if you have some way of bypassing that it would be perfect. Elevator not working is also nice if the club is part of another building like almost all are. That would place the top shaft accessible from other sectons of house. Also behind alarm but if you can bypass it would lead straight to third floor. Both can serve as quick getaways.

You really need a new chip. If only to access supposed laptops or bypass stuff. Can you get a cheap one with limited toolset or a handheld computer for that?

May as well take the package. Let's see... are there air vents in your apartment? Classy way to enter. The windows would work to. Alternatively, don't break the seal: Remove it without doing so (and a portion of the door, but I don't think you have the tools).

But first thing's first! Do you have a generic-looking getaway vehicle ready? No? You had better get one. Preferably one of those nice ones with digital (and alterable) plates. Mmnn.

Joanna, did you forget that dream you had that wasn't a dream because we saw it too? You have a virus in your chip. The feed is corrupted. We're getting messages from someone asking for help who says that they're hurting him.

It's important to note that anything we're receiving from you now cannot be trusted. The link has been compromised and we cannot judge the integrity of received information. You need to be understand that our advice might be based on faulty information, or you may even receive incorrect commands altogether. Now quit wasting your time and approach him casually. Korean guys are big on honor and reputation, so stay respectful. Koreans bow when meeting people and during business transactions, so bowing when you walk up to him might be a good idea. Korean names are backwards, so call him 'Mr. Kim'.
