"You look familiar, too," Rina says. "Why were you looking at that book?"
"Ah, well, there was some weird liquid stuff on it, so I just decided to take a look. I've never actually been to a weird place like this. Thought I'd just satisfy my curiosity."
"That's why you came?"
"No. I was following your tracks for quite a while. Your friend's gotten himself into some deep shit, do you know that? He's stolen from the armory, and the force knows about it. Don't worry though, I've been trying to tell them your side of things and what is going on...like with the Chief, but ever since he disappeared, everyone has been in disarray. It was a real mess.
I was taken to the hospital shortly after you guys left, but while I was in there, it wasn't long before things got crazy again. Everyone was gone, and I had to fend for myself. I followed your guys' tracks according to radio feeds."
Rina bows her head and leans her back against the pillar.
"Huh. So you are that guy then," Rina states.
"Like I said before, I've been trying to tell them something really odd is happening, and that you guys were trying to do something about it, but no one would listen. I'm actually one of the only ones who had the responsibility to watch over that Harry guy, the one from the sanitarium. I learned a bit about him, what he's done. It all seems to tie together with what's going on. Did you guys make any progress?"
"Well, Harry's just a cold-blooded bastard who wants to raise his demonness. My friend was just recently taken by said demonness...and I followed them here to this village. It's where it all started." Rina proceeds to tell the officer about the incident, Mr. Farrow, the geocaching trip, everything.
The canid sighs. "I don't know how I'm going to manage to make my peers believe this shit...then again they haven't really seen the things I have."
"When your building got wrecked, did anyone die? Do you know?" Rina asks.
"Someone got crushed by debris, yes. Didn't know the guy much, but I knew he was going to ask a nurse in the nearby hospital to marry him. They've been going out for a pretty long time. Makes my stomach twist just thinking about that. Poor guy."
Rina rubs her forehead, feeling saddened at this.
"Listen, I'm sorry for doing this. I've just had to be on my guard from all these crazy people, cultists...it's just been really crazy," she says.
"Understandable," he responds. "But maybe we can work together? Find out what's going on?"
