She stares at you for a while then shakes her head with a sad smile.

Somewhere a bell rings. Her eyes go wide and she shakes her head to clear it up. She flips down your mask and begins pushing you out of the village. Even with your considerable weight she still easily pushes to the gate.

Actually, you should probably stop showing your face to so many people. You leave the village. Before you go home you kindly ask Nin to scout out the place and report anything unusual to you back at the castle. She gives a curt nod and goes off to scout.

You return to the castle and are greeted by a familiar, though not exactly comforting voice.

She nods.

Leaving, and having the ninja scope out the town, especially the bell, seems prudent. Though maybe we should see if we can get her to open up about what's up with the town a little?

I suspect the gem is either wielded as an accessory or used in alchemy combinations. I propose using it with Rose, Emily or Alice.

Other than that a trip to the gardens sounds nice.

You have the Imps work on the Demon Lab. Meagan will surely appreciate this.

Pondering what to give the Shadow Mages you wind up bumping into Shana. You ask her what would be a suitable gift for them and she says that anything from the demon world will suffice. You make a note to send them some surplus alchemy ingredients. You also notice she looks a bit ill but she waves away any concerns you have.

You decide to visit the newly repaired Garden.
It's... Well, it looks nice, actually.

Emily floats beside you and smiles.

>"It looks just like it used to."

"It was always this green?"

She nods.

>"I think so.. My memory isn't too good but I do remember it was nice. I used to fly around here a lot~"

You look at Emily as she examines the repaired garden. She still has her usual smile but there's something mixed with it. An emotion you can't quite name or are even familiar with. Before you can ask her face goes back to normal.

>"I'm gonna go play with Rose~"

You nod and she flies off. As you watch her leave you can't help but wonder what goes on in her mind.

Ah well, that is a mystery for another day. For now you just want to rest and contemplate what happened today.
