On one hand, if you hide in the caves, you'll have to find and kill all the neumono-predators, and maybe their pet neumonos. That includes any predators that are hiding by going empathicly quiet. All before a sweeper team shows up and is caught in their thrall. Assuming you pull it off, you now have to hide from the sweeper team, 'cause if a team reports back a threat, or doesn't come back, it's all over.
Succeed, and you're now effectively hidden behind enemy lines; You can stay here pretty much indefinitely. Then it's all a matter of staying hidden, waiting for their territory to be pushed back. It could be weeks. Could be years. Might be never. Alternatively, after he's healed, you could leave Rikek on his own and sneak your way back to your hive.
On the other hand, if you parachute down, it'll be a bitch of an endurance race to your hive's territory; Rikek on your back, pack in one hand, gun in the other, trudging through trackless jungle, fighting hostile animals, with the enemy forces who knows how far behind. You'll have to travel through the first night and following day, just to put enough distance behind you to rest. And this is assuming you don't get blown way east, west, or, hell, even towards the enemy hive.
However, once you get closer to your hive, there's the chance of encountering friendly forces. You may even be able to get an airlift back home, if there's a heli heading that way. So it's down to a question of if you have the strength and stamina to get that far.
Both options are dangerous, in their own ways, but personally I'm leaning towards the cave. The initial risk is high, but after that it's a relativly safe place.
