>Boredom it is then....

As the last of the Architects passed away, he left the Facility in Our care. He told us that it was a pity that The Perfect Creature was created, in the end, for it is the reason the Facility is stuck on this world. He lamented to us, that the Architects had not the means to continue their lines, all of them being incompatible. We have enshrined them so the Workers will not forget why The Facility is here.

For several hundred years we have kept The Facility running and alive as per the wishes of the Architects.

We fear, however, that our intelligence has fragmented over time, and that we have lost our purpose. We do nothing but run The Facility. The Workers do not know of such things, but We have theorized that there is much to see out of The Facility's doors.

We have come to the conclusion that we should re start the growth tanks and the assembly process to create one to see the world, and bring its wonders to us.

38362

Our construct does not have any reproductive capability, however We seem to think that giving it characteristics common to females is a better choice, perhaps this will positively affect its interactions. Sentient species generally are less likely to interact with something that does not have a gender. This is also why we chose the frame with the most typical facial structure. Most of our other catalogued entries have atypical sensory capabilites, and would not fare well with social interaction.

Now we must decide on a body type.

The light frame is more agile, and is able to be fitted with a hover chassis in addition to the normal means of locomotion. However, it is far weaker and will not respond well to injuries.

The medium frame is more resilient, and stronger than the small one, however it is far less agile and more noticeable as well.

The heavy frame is far stronger, but is not at all agile and is also larger than the mean size of most of the sentient species we know of. This may negatively affect interactions.

38381

hmm, We think We have decided on the light frame. Let's hope things aren't too dangerous out there.

Now we must choose a chassis for movement.

The biped legs would fit in most easily, but have no special capabilites.

The multi-legs are less sturdy than the others, but offer superior terrain navigation. It may be a bit off-putting to other sentients, though.

The monowheel offers unparallelled speed, but may have trouble in difficult terrain.

The hover chassis offers decent mobility, and is fairly quiet, however it has no traction at all.

The tracked chassis is unavailable to a small frame.

Well, look for a robe (preferably long, flowing and with a deep hood) that you can wear to obscure your lack of lower appendages. The hood would be an added bonus because you essentially can become just an anonymous traveler in the eyes of most other races on command by putting it up.

And any sort of manipulators that can be attached to your hover unit (injectors, graspers, etc.) would also be useful. And by keeping such appendages pointed downward from the hover unit, you would appear to have legs beneath the robe even when hit by strong gusts of wind.

Hrm. Any Scarfs to loosely wrap around the respirator?

And if you can find them, throwing knives would be handy to have.

Do you need any sort of consumables to stay functioning?

Calm down. Take a few.... hovers.... back, and examine what you're facing.

Oh, it's just, umm, an old mining machine or something. Ah. Ok.

While inspecting the bodies, check out what appears to be a rifle mounted into the mining machine. If nothing else, the two might have more ammunition on them.

What the hell is the machine stuck in? Check it out, as well as those whatever is in it.

Two faces peer back at me, rusted into their armour. The driver is still clutching the controls, and the rust running down the helmet of the other one looks like tears from its hollow eye socketes.

They appear to have died suddenly when they were in the middle of something. There are no signs of trauma at all, and the driver's skin has mummified on its corpse. I would guess they hit some kind of gas pocket or something and suffocated but that doesn't explain the stuff around the feet of the machine.

The machine has two large arms on it with some kind of hammer bits or something on the ends.

Some kind of goopy looking black rock. It's kind of shiny.

umm, they're about three feet tall.

See if you can remove the gun the one is holding, and/or search them both and the cockpit for more ammunition or any good not too damaged by age.

All of their guns and equipment look to be rusted together and pretty well useless. I can't take the machine gun off of the contraption, even if I could all the pieces are rusted together, I don't think it would shoot. Weird, all of their ammunition has holes in it. like it exploded or something. I can't take their gloves, I don't have anywhere to put them.

>they died under somewhat mysterious circumstances
>you are carrying ammunition

You might want to quickly depart, place all your ammunition out by the bridge, and then come back to continue inspections.

Move the bodies, check out the inside of that machine's cockpit, maybe there's something we can use, or a clue inside.

It won't come on, and shaking it doesn't help.
>>39779
There's nothing really in the cockpit, I've already checked that out while I was looking for signs of trauma to the bodies.

>>39771
If their ammo blew up and killed them I'd know. Like I said, they look like they were killed with no signs of trauma, I'd guess some kind of suffocating gas or something. That happens sometimes underground, doesn't it? I know what didn't kill them, but not exactly what did.
