Your whole life, you've been a citizen of the kingdom. The kingdom is very big, and you are a very small part of it. So small, in fact, that you don't even know the name of the kingdom.

You like to find excuses to go to town, because there you can catch a glimpse of Marie. Marie is beautiful, and you have always dreamed of the day that you would sweep her off her feet and wed her.

There's just one problem. Marie is the daughter of a noble, and you are a peasant in every sense of the word.

People always tell you to stop dreaming, to get your head out of the clouds. Marie is noble-born. She has everything. And you? You have nothing. You toil in the fields of a small part of a kingdom so large you don't even know its name.

They always tell you that it's pointless to consider this dream. You'd be better off chasing stars.

now is your chance, fellow proletariat! throw off the chains of the bourgeoisie, and use your power to overthrow their wicked and controlling ways.
this star's gift is not just for you, but for all peoples, they the many may be happy from it's coming, rather than just the few. let this sword represent the people's wish for all to be equal, that there be no peasant, no noble, only peoples of equal joy.

>end cutscene

That night, you found four things.

The star, that punched its way into a cavern beneath the fields.
A sword, with which to cut your own path.
a small bag of gold, with which to break free of your shackles of poverty.
And hope; for if you've caught one star, what's to stop you from grabbing another?

You have used most of the gold to buy some land. This is your land. But a peasant does not own land. You are a new man, now. And the first thing a lord-to-be needs is a name.

You decide your new name will be ODDWIN MARX. It is a strong name for a strong man. A name that will leave its impression on the world.

>>36595

Before you can grow vegetables, there is a problem to attend to.

There was gold in the chest, but land is expensive. Unless, of course, there is something wrong with it. You got this land for cheap, because the land is unusable. The soil is strong, the air is fresh, and there is ready access to water from a small stream.

Unfortunately, this land has a monster problem. Fortunately, you are ODDWIN MARX, and you figure that if you can deal with the monster problem, you'll have good land for cheap.

No no no. No Spinning! Keep running! We had a trap remeber? The Stick, and the tree!

We could easily fit in the space.. or cut it as we run by! Hopefully it isn't immune to death by tree falling.

Quick!
Carve it before the quest ends!

Ahem. I mean, see if you can't carve any useful/valuable materials from it.

You know that monster parts are highly valued for alchemical purposes, and some of them are useful for other reasons, but in your previous life as a simple citizen of the kingdom you never learned much about those things!

If you're going to carve off parts of the monster and take some with you, you'll need to decide what to take. The creature is far too large for you to carry it back yourself.

Take the head as a trophy. We'll get it stuffed and mounted on our wall

Take its horns, claws, teeth and hide. If you don't know how to properly skin the monster then take the tail instead.

the heart and the eyes

You don't know anything about skinning monsters, and you don't know how to tell their weird organs apart.

But you can take the eyes, fangs, horns, and head all at once; and you cut off the tail for good measure. You clean up a bit and recover your sword as well. This takes some time, and it is evening before you are prepared to set off back toward the town.
