If she could command her children, why do you think she's stuck here, hmm? She's either lying, or she's telling the truth, and for the moment I can't really see any reason why she'd lie to us about something like this.
I, for one, can believe her children are insectile half-wits. Like regular ants they'd act largely on instinct, backed up by only by the intelligence their demonic affliction affords them.
Regardless, even if we do free her, what kind of world are we freeing her to? Even if we can carve a path, and she can shift herself, she'll still have her perpetual brood to, well, 'worry' about, or adventurers like Player, or other demons for that matter. Do you think the town will accept her? Dream on! (Nor would the townsfolk ever come down here. That's an adventurer's job, remember?)
Well, it doesn't matter much. If the queen can't give her children commands, as seems evident, then she truly is a prisoner. A prisoner of her own body, as well as a prisoner of her spawn. The only thing she doesn't seem a prisoner of here is her own mind, which would be the true tragedy of this affair. I don't know how we 'showed' her the truth of this, but I think she's come to a very, well, sensible conclusion for someone in her position.
I do wonder, though... she must have had ample opportunity to end her own life, especially if she had that dagger at hand. Why need Player for something so... inherently simple as a clean stab?
Where did she get that dagger from, even? A dead adventurer, or...
Hm.
Hrmm.
Bugger it, I need to know. Ask her how she came to be stuck down here, Player. Was she born here, or was she... uh, forced to come here?
