Lilac Dream Song

“Please tell me about this dragon, I have most of my memories, but the events of the alleged black plague are all gone,” Asali inquires.
Ladon turns away from her and walks away a couple of steps. The bucket on his foot working more like a single misshapen shoe at the end of his leg. The liquid creature gazes into the right hand, clenched around something which he had protected for a few days by now.
“He is a True Dragon, his blood is pure and powerful. There are not a whole lot of them roaming the world, but truth be told, the dragon was not the real problem. He performed everything as required of him upon you under the glamorous offer of a deity trying to rise back to power.
This dragon believed you were doing it fully knowing the consequences of what you did. From what you told me at the bar, Keycat told you one thing about the exchange, and the dragon another. You were cursed into your current state in complete ignorance, and now here I am having to decide whether or not to Kill you right now.”
Asali frowns, and hugs herself with her tail nervously.
“I would rather prefer you not, we’re friends aren’t we?”
“We are, and since you woke up you have not killed anyone on the island. There’s hope for you. Your kind, helpful aura make it a very difficult choice. If I am wrong, however, more will suffer. Do you understand how difficult this is? Please help convince me to trust you, Asali Nyonya Zakiya. I cannot have a single shred of doubt if I am to give you this willingly.”
