((I can't draw very well, so there won't be any pics except for the obligatory first one...I have a really bad naming sense, so please suggest titles for this...))

You wake up..somewhere, you have no memory of...anything really.. You know that there are 4 walls surrounding you, and you can see a flickering screen in the darkness. There is a window to your right.
>>
No. 19995 ID: 335096

Look out window. Check to see if all organs are present.
>>
No. 19998 ID: ddd49b

You look out the window to see a desolate plain. You see train tracks in the distance, and a red sky above. You seem to know that it is evening, though you aren't quite sure how you know that, or what evening is. You see a red-clad figure in the distance, but you lose sight of it soon after seeing it.

You feel yourself. You don't know what exactly you're supposed to have, or what number, but you think you have everything in place.

The screen continues to flicker.
>>
No. 20003 ID: ddd49b

The screen flickers at a slightly quicker pace, but you're not really sure if you should look at it.
>>
No. 20007 ID: 335096

Take no shit! Punch that screen hard! Dont even look at it. Its probably a trap.
>>
No. 20009 ID: ddd49b

You punch the screen. HARD. It withstand the punch, and you hear a large metallic sound coming from the impact. It looks like they thought you'd do that.

You hear thumping sounds from the outside. They don't sound friendly.
>>
No. 20010 ID: ddd49b

The window looks punchable.
>>
No. 20013 ID: 335096

No time! Full body jump out the window! Its the only way!
>>
No. 20018 ID: ddd49b

You do a full body jump out of the window. It breaks like paper. You are totally fine for some reason.

You see the Red-Clad Warrior from earlier, trying to break into your...box? The figure doesn't look friendly. It's brandishing a wicked looking spear. The train tracks are to your right, but you aren't sure if you'd make it or not. Your left eye kinda hurts though...

((BTW, you're male. I just want to put that in, nothing else...))
>>
No. 20020 ID: 335096

Take no shit dude, punch that fucker out and take that spear.
>>
No. 20021 ID: ddd49b

You kinda want to punch that figure, but you know for sure you're no match for the warrior right now...

A menu appears in your left eye. You can't read most of the words right now,but you can see two that you can use: Evoke and Equip. You feel either one is a good idea to use, but which? You don't know what either of them do!
>>
No. 20022 ID: 335096

This is clearly a trap. We need no help. Attempt to outsmart the warrior and maybe trip him. We'll go as long as we can without resorting to freaky-eye-magic.
>>
No. 20025 ID: ddd49b

You disregard the menu, thinking that it's a trap, and attempt to take out the warrior yourself.

You go up to the figure attacking your box and try to draw its attention. It works suspiciously too well, as the figure runs towards you. You attempt to trip the figure but it sees right through you and jumps over the foot. It jabs the spear forward and stabs you in the arm. It feels numb, but there is no pain.

The menu Appears again, this time with only the Evoke option. You think it might be a trap, but this is YOUR body, and you did check if anything has been done on you...It's a toss up. Stick to your decision and you might die. Use Evoke and you might die even worse.
>>
No. 20029 ID: ddd49b

On the other hand...The warrior doesn't seem to want to kill you. It seems to be trying to get you unconscious. You wonder why...But you soon forget as the spear almost jabs you in the ribs. You seem to be quite nimble.
>>
No. 20030 ID: 335096

Keep fighting! Struggle till our dying breath! Accept help from no one. The moment we look like we can take no more. That is when we will use our evokation.
>>
No. 20040 ID: ddd49b

You screw the menu, deciding to carve your own destiny with your fists. You dodge the spear with ease because of your new conviction. The figure seems to be more frantic, as if it expects a trap from you. You take this confusion to clock the warrior with a resounding fist. It seems to be super effective, as you make a dent. Then it seems to get serious.

The spear emits a strange, flame-colored light, though you can look directly at it. You feel significantly weaker, though still nimble. It then stabs you again in the legs. Your legs feel like they are about to burn off. You hear a rapid whirring sound coming from deep within you and steam flows from your knee-joints. You wonder what the figure did but you feel like you're on fire. It stabs you repeatedly in your arms and legs, numbing you with pain. The menu appears once more in you eyes with two commands now: Evoke and Wake. You feel apprehensive about the command Wake right off the bat.
>>
No. 20042 ID: 335096

Damn. This isnt looking good. alright, looks like he's left us with no choice. Use both commands at once.
>>
No. 20073 ID: acdc9b

>>20042
If that proves impossible, use Evoke first. In spite of how freeing and exhilarating it would be to throw caution to the wind and use Wave right off the bat.
>>
No. 20134 ID: ddd49b

You use Evoke, as something tells you you can't use two at once. You immediately feel a change rush through you. What you thought was you skin opens up, and a silvery material gushes out of you, covering your body from head to toe. It soon becomes segmented, allowing maximum flexibility and speed. Your arms become pointed spikes with blades running along the sides while your legs become pointy, and feel a lot stronger. Strength returns to your body and then some. The red-clad warrior backs up for a moment, then rushes towards you.

Grab his spear and cut his hamstrings.
>>
No. 20154 ID: ddd49b

You don't have hands anymore, so you can't grab his spear, but you try to cut its hamstrings...You succeed. The figure falls down on the ground, clutching it's leg in agony. It seems to have a low tolerance for pain, and it goes into spasms. It soon falls unconscious.

On your visor, a new menu appears, with the command: Absorb the only one readable. You don't know what it does, but it might be good.
>>
No. 20157 ID: ddd49b

You can't help but think that you won REALLY easily. There must be some sort of effect that your arms can do, like how the spear numbs your limbs.
>>
No. 20171 ID: 335096

This is fucking freaky. I don't like this one bit. See if we can turn off this effect. We'll avoid using it as much as possible in the future. I suspect that someone WANTS us to be doing this sort of thing. We won't give them the satisfaction. Don't absorb, but take his spear. Use our mouth if we have to.
>>
No. 20175 ID: ddd49b

You try to take off the effect, but nothing happens. Your mouth was already covered by the armor. A side-effect of being stream-lined. Your armor seems to have gotten bored of you not trusting it. You feel that it wants to be your partner whether you like it or not. It absorbs for you, stripping him...wait...It's a her. The chest is a bit flat, but it's a her. Her red armor melts down into a liquid, then becomes absorbed into your own armor, gaining red streaks. Yes, you feel you can summon her spear.

The armor retracts, satisfied with it's show of force against its master.

You look at the girl on the ground. She looks very small and slender, a direct contrast to the warrior before. You see a strange star-shaped marking around her left eye. You have a feeling you have a different marking around your own eye as well. You feel...something in your chest, but you can't explain what. It happens when you look at the girl too long. Doesn't feel bad, but it feels...Awkward.
>>
No. 20195 ID: 335096

Great. We had no mouth but we must scream. Lets scream a lot now. Goddamn, we have no control over our own freaky super-body. That's not good. Lets pick up the girl and bolt. We'll interigate her later. Maybe she can get this weird interface out of us.
>>
No. 20199 ID: ddd49b

You're back to your old self right now. There's no need to scream. You seem to be able to control your own body, just not when your armor feels like you're not doing what needs to be done. Plus, you can only "Evoke" your armor when the menu pops up.

You pick up the girl, but you don't know where to bolt. There's always the end of the train tracks...

>>
No. 20587 ID: ddd49b

You follow the train tracks, hoping that you will find someone who can explain what is going on.

On the way you get more feelings, though you think that it is from your armor. It seems it gained a simple sentience after Absorbing that other armor, and it now can communicate to you through oddly specific feelings. You still can't summon the menu at will though. It will only come up when your armor feels that you need to choose something or die. You can still choose whether or not to use it though.

The girl is still unconscious, though she mumbles.

You reach an abandoned Station at the end of the tracks. There's not much to see except for overgrown bushes outside and the entrance. It's too dark inside to see anything. To your right is a flickering screen, similar to the one in your box.

Slap the girl back to consciousness and demand answers from her. Place foot on throat (lightly) to demonstrate the severity of our conviction.
>>

Wow...Ummm...You see no reason to disregard that, so you do so. You lay her down on the hard ground, and slap her awake. You press your foot to her throat once she awoke, then demanded some answers.

>"I expected that from a dog of that Tyrant. So even death couldn't defeat The Silver Fire...I don't have to answer anything YOU ask me. I know what you did to my fellow sisters in the war. I almost can't believe you only took my Evocation, but I bet you were going to sell me later to your other filth."

Woah...There was a war? And you were called the Silver Fire? You were DEAD? What's happening here? I guess you need to persuade her to give you answers another way, because she seemed ready for you to kill her...Perhaps give her something you took from her?

Fuck no! We're not going to try any persuasion bullshit! We worked for someone named the Tyrant! He didn't earn that name for his astonishing charisma. We defeated death itself, motherfucker! We will not crawl to our enemy, groveling for information.

Pick up that woman by the throat and slam her against the wall. Lean in close and whisper menacingly in her ear, "I'm not going to kill you, though you may beg for death to give you the peace you will never again have. No, I'm going to keep you alive through every hellish moment. I'm going to force consciousness into your body until you choke from the overwhelming suffering that will be your world. You will be violated in ways you can never imagine, and will feel pain in nerves you did not even know you had. Your life will become a mockery of human existence not even fit for the harshest of social commentaries. Your name will be stricken from the history books due to the sheer horror any slightest retelling of your story will evoke."

Lean back and look thoughtful before continuing in a less harsh voice. "However, let it not be said that I am unreasonable. I will give you one chance to avoid this most horrible of fates. Answer my questions, and I will not only spare you such needless tragedy, but I will let you leave, unharmed and unfettered. These are your only two options. I will not negotiate. Inform me of your decision once your mind is made."

You do just that, and you watch her face slowly become horrified. You can see each, individual tear run down her cheek, and her sobbing breaths. Her face glows an angry red, then pales immediately after. She doesn't seem so tough after all. The Star around her eye glows a sky blue, but you don't see what it's doing...yet.

>I stand my ground Silver Fire. I am dead anyway, I cannot return to my side until I have recovered all of the Evocations that you have stolen from my fallen Sisters, though you seem to be missing all of them. There is nothing you can do do make me change my mind.

She seems like she doesn't want to submit to your will...You feel cold metal against your hand as you hold her there, though she wasn't wearing a collar. By instinct you jump back, and for good measure too. She seems to have a second evocation, a sapphire colored armor. It seems weaker than her earlier armor for some reason, the menu doesn't even appear in your eye. You CAN stop the armor from finishing, and that may cause her to give you answers, seeing her last hope of beating you destroyed...

The menu appears in your left eye after that realization with the commands: Evoke, Equip, and Break. They all seem like good choices, and you aren't really sure if you want to kill her just yet. She's the first and only person you have met that has any idea of what happened in this world. Losing her might mean losing any sort of answer.

>I suggest you don't kill her Silver Fire...There's more to this than what she says. Well...There's more to this that I know, but you don't.

You armor seems to be talking to you...

>I get better every time you absorb other Evicanae...Take time to...be same?

It seems your armor is a bit smarter now, to say the least. And what is this about your armor knowing things you don't? It's your DAMN slave y'know? You CAN force him to tell you, though you might want to take care of the girl...If you want to kill her, your armor may have to intervene, and that will be bad.

>>
No. 20756 ID: ddd49b

You use Break with all intents to kill.

You instinctively hold out your hand, palm out towards her, and a strange pulse emits from your palm. It disrupts the sapphire armor, canceling her evocation. She spasms in pain similarly to when you hit her with your pointy spike of an arm while in armor, then falls to the ground, gasping for air. Her tears fall to the ground. She doesn't seem to want to fight anymore.

>There are other ways to fight rather than killing, you aren't the Real Silver Fire. You don't have to follow his path all over again.

What's this about you not being the real Silver Fire? Your armor is a bastard, but you don't think it's lying.

"I don't fucking care. Tell me what's going on. Who am I, who the fuck is she, and what the fucking hell are you exactly?" You seem to be losing your patience with your armor.

>I am your Evicanae. Or, for a more specific answer, a part of you. You and that female, and every other living thing on this earth has an Evicanae. You can no more tear out your heart than part with me. That is because every organism on this earth is not fully organic. You are a MachinOrgani, the only kind of being left on earth. You do not need sleep, nourishment, or any sort of limitations that Organi have. That girl is part of the enemy faction of this earth, Those Who Serve the Silver Moon. They have been vying for control over this planet after your faction won, and the Tyrant came to power. I do not know exactly who she is, but she knew where you were located, no easy task. She may be useful to us as well...No person is that cruel to cast away a loved one. And as for you...You may or may not be the Silver Fire. That is all I can tell you without being killed. >That person was the same one who used that screen in your tomb...If not for that figure, you would have slept forever. MachinOrgani have long lives. The Tyrant was one of the first ones made. There are many thoughts and memories in this Evicanae that you have given me, and I have yet to finish sifting through all of them. What I can tell is that it was from Raen's, that girl's, teacher. Exces, the teacher, was one of the first ones created as well, and fought until she was captured by the Silver Fire. From her last memories, he extracted the Evicanae without absorbing it, then tortured Exces. It refuses to give me the exact memories, but that is all I can find. Raen raided your tomb for the Evicanae of her fellow soldiers, or Sisters, and found the Garnet Spear, the title of the Evicanae. You were in the Silver Fire's tomb instead, something that she did not anticipate.

"I'm guessing you want me to apologize to this girl... 'Raen'? Explain that I'm not the Silver Fire, that I was misguided, and offer my assistance in her... quest?"

"... Fuck. That's boring. I'm going to go investigate my surroundings. If you think of anything else or realize anything else you can say despite your 'restriction,' let me know."

"Pertinax," I correct his pronunciation. "I don't know what it means, but somehow it seems appropriate. I'll deal with the girl in a little bit. She's not going to be happy when she wakes up. I really could've used this information, and not all that cryptic bullshit, before I went all Silver Fire impersonator on her..."

Before you connect, you heard your Evicanae mutter:
>Sorry, but I was still-

You are transported back to...whenever this is...And it looks much different than your current time period. The sun is shining, the Station is full of people of different types, including Organi as well as MachinOrgani. You focus on a single, mysterious person. He's wearing clothes that obscure it's shape and gender, but you know that that figure is huge. It places a parcel in the center of the Station, in a potted plant, then boards the train, which looks much smaller than now. The figure seems to know that you are watching it, but you don't know why, or where you are watching this from... A sudden explosion resounds, and fire and smoke fill your eyes. Panic can be heard as Organi and MacinOrgani crush each other in confusion. It seems you are seeing from a time near the beginning of all this fighting?

The vision ends, much to your annoyance. At least you know that there might be a parcel in the Station. The girl has regained consciousness now, but she's huddled her knees close to her, and seems to be sobbing uncontrollably.

>So that's what it does...
It seems Pertinax saw what you saw.
>Well...That wasn't as interesting as I thought...And to explain again, since I was interrupted by that view into the past, I was cryptic because i was still too simple to form coherent thoughts and words...I could only communicate through your feelings, in which you mostly ignored...

You tune his complains out for a moment, trying to decide what to do next. You hear a gentle rumbling in the distance, as if something large was stomping the ground, but it soon fades.

Here it comes.

I walk over to her, keeping a respectful distance. "Raen, I'm sorry I treated you that way and said those things to you. I don't have any memory, and I picked up on what you said and drew my own conclusions. Those conclusions were wrong. I hurt you and said terrible things because I was misguided. Truth is, I'm not the Silver Fire. I'm not even welcomed by the Tyrant; if I went back I'd be killed. Mind you, this is an explanation, not an excuse. I was scared and confused by your attack and I reached out for answers, and I blindly let my rage get the best of me. And I'm sorry."

"Can we start all over? Will you give me another chance? What can I do to make it up to you?"

I don't enjoy having to apologize, but I meant everything I said.
>>
No. 22032 ID: ddd49b

>*Sniff*
Raen doesn't seem to respond for a moment, then she begins to talk in an extremely shaky voice.
>I messed up...*Sniff*...I can't even get revenge for my teacher...Not even with the strongest armor...*Sniff*...I trained day and night, committing her teachings by heart...I finally get the location of the Silver Pyre, the tomb where the Silver Flame is supposed to be and now I got you; someone who only looks like the Silver Fire...*Sniff*...I can't even beat you. I hate you. I don't even care if you didn't have anything to do with anything or anyone, I still hate you for not being the Silver Fire. I hate you for not being able to allow me to exact revenge on all my Fallen Sisters who were violated by him.

She stops for a moment, looking up into your face. You are about to give her a piece of your mind when she continues.
>But I accept your apology...I am sorry for trying to kill you and I would have done the same in your situation. But every lesson and story points to one thing about the Silver Flame: Show no mercy, or you will die a horrible death. He has done unspeakable acts in the war, killing innocents, his own troops even, all for their Evicanae. And what do you mean, you will be killed by the Tyrant? You were in a graveyard for celebrated soldiers, under the name Silver Fire. I d-don't understand.
She gets up and moves a short distance away, seemingly apprehensive to trust you, but nothing openly hostile yet.

>Hmm...
You see a menu appear in your left eye with the command: Synchronize. It seems your armor found something for you to use.
>Since you have an Evicanae that was formerly used by her, I may be able to talk to her Evicanae. She might listen to it and trust it much more easily...At least, more easily than someone who looks like the Silver Fire. It will be risky though, it's not permanent, but the both of you will be vulnerable while it is. If she tries to kill you, you will die. I can't be Evoked while this happens. The same can happen to her though...

I consider Pertinax's suggestion and nod. I don't think she's in any condition to try fighting me again, so hopefully this will work fast enough for it to be safe.

You feel woozy as Pertinax uses the Synchronize command.

>I would have preferred if you kept the Synchronize command a secret...Now she knows all about it from her Evicanae...

You mentally shrug at this minor complaint, you were trying to gain Raen's trust, not keep safe...

>Hello, Evicanae...
Pertinax seems to be speaking to the other Evicanae.

>Hello. You have only moments before I instruct my Master to attack. Make it quick.
>What if I give back Garnet Spear as a sign of good will? If you tell your master to trust us and convince her to do so, I will give you her.
Wait...What? What is Pertinax doing? Does he know you can hear him?

>How do I know this isn't a trick? You seemed to have absorbed enough to talk. How much of her is left?
>Enough to satisfy your Master. All I took were some memories for information on who I am, some weapon plans, and some of its mass, which will grow back in time. It's all there otherwise. I really need your co-operation.
>Hmph. Does your master know?
>Y-yes, he does, and is willing to face the consequences.
It seems Pertinax learned to tell half-truths, though he is a bit clumsy to say the least..

>You know that I think this is an elaborate trap.
>I would be foolish. Once we finish this link, I will instruct my master on what to do.
>Hmph. I will be waiting then. If this is a trap, I WILL be ready.
>Thank you...May I ask for your name?
>I am known as Sapphire Claw. And yours?
>Pertinax.
>Hmph, how unusual.

It seems that the discussion is finished, and you feel less woozy and more aware of your surroundings.
>Master, I need you to do something for me, and you must trust me...Please. this is important. You must touch your face to hers. Her Evicanae will instruct Raen to do the same, so do not worry. It will last for a while, but do not worry. Everything will be alright. Please.

You wonder what to do. On one hand, you heard the conversation. Pertinax hid his plan from you, and the consequences do not sound good. On the other hand, it might not be so bad...You wonder what to do.

>I offered to do what I needed to make it up to her, and I meant it. I'd already considered giving her back the spear, I just didn't know if it was possible. Don't worry, I'll play nice.

I step toward Raen slowly, body language relaxed. I- um, well- hmm... this is awkward. I lean my head forward to rest my forehead against hers.

>Why couldn't there be a less weird way of doing this, like clasping hands or something?

>Because my consciousness is stored there, in your left eye. I only found this out when I sifted through the memories. That's why there will be some sort of decoration around your left eye. Now...Get your face as close as possible to hers.

You can tell Pertinax is enjoying this, but you place your face as close as you can to hers. You see her eyes are naturally red...But this is not the time.

You feel a quick jolt, then a thundering pain. It's as if there was a presence sifting through your mind. It soon fades, though you have a massive hangover. It seems Raen was effected as well, though it seemed to be much stronger.

>I am sorry for the pain, but Sapphire Claw, Raen's Evicanae, insisted to be through. For that I apologize, as of now you have only me as an Evicanae. I needed to give her Garnet Spear as a show of goodwill, in order for her to trust you.

You see that Raen's expression seems to be slightly softer. You also notice that you are still close to her face.

The thought of being a mercenary appeals to my sense of adventure, but then again I'm not sure I like the thought of fighting other people's battles. Of course, there's still a lot I don't know about this world.

"What do mercenaries fight for? Money? My Evicanae told me we don't need food or sleep... so what is there to buy?"

Honestly, using flimsy pieces of bark? As for me...I can't return, and I can never been seen by my Sisters again. You have more freedom than I do. I will take the train to the wilderness...Perhaps to take the Wild Evicanae, those who have no master, and latch onto what beasts inhabit the area. I need to get stronger to take the Tyrants head, if I can not get the Silver Fire. It may be a bit too dangerous for me...Usually MacinOrgani go out there in pairs...

Raen seems to be slightly nervous, though you don't know why.
>Primitive Evicanae...They were made during the war, to try to make MachinOrgani less vulnerable. They made then less...intelligent or complicated, and that quality allowed them to be shared among MachinOrgani. They were made to be kept separate from the Evicanae we were born with, and they acted as back-ups for us when we lose them. But...Something went wrong...And all the prototypes were released into the world or were killed...I wouldn't be surprised if you found one, but if it attacked you...Its owner must be nearby...Hopefully she'll be vulnerable. It seems that they worked too well in making the Primitive Evicanae incompatible with yours...

>When I say unstable...I meant unstable. I have never seen any of these owners, but I have heard many tales. Their behavior is mostly unpredictable, though they understand reason...It's like that mental disease that Organi could be born with, as if they had Evicanae speaking in their head but they weren't. If you want to gain another ally, you need to be VERY careful. It's much easier to kill them because they're easy to confuse.

So you're presented with a few choices...You could take the easy route and kill the Owner of that Primitive Evicanae, or you could take the harder route and try to reason with him/her.

"Mi... I didn't tell you this at first, but my name isn't really Mirk. Because I don't have a real name either. I was a lot like you; confused and scared and lonely. I'm still confused... I'm still scared. But I'm not lonely anymore. Do you know why? Because I made a friend. I met Raen over there and you know what? We fought at first! She was really mad at me and didn't trust me at all! I reminded her of someone who'd hurt her in the past. It's so hard to trust when you've been hurt before by people you trusted."

"But that's the thing about making new friends: they're new! You get a whole new chance and to meet whole new people. We aren't the people who hurt you before. We will NEVER be those people. If you want us to, we'll be your friends. You can come with us and we'll have all sorts of adventures and play all kinds of games! And we'll always be together, as a team."

>*Sniff*...You are really my friends~?
It seems your words are getting to her, but she needs a little extra push in order to stop...

>*Sigh*...Oy, Mi.
Raen is addressing Mi now. It seems she had an idea. She has Mi's attention, and the spikes are easing slowly out.
>This guy won't die just like how I won't die and you won't die. We're MachinOrgani, which means we're not bound by the normal constraints that Organi used to face. I do not know the specifics, but we are able to live on as long as we want unless if we faced TOO MUCH TRAUMA. If you continue to spike Mirk over and over, then he will die. If you stop, then I will teach you a way to play "Catch That Person" without making them "sleepy".

It seems to work, the spikes are all retracted, and you don't feel a strong pulling sensation anymore. Mi's armor seems to have retracted, and she seems to have returned to normal. Boo is gamboling around, trying to get inside you again but hopefully Pertinax has solved this problem. It seems Mi is unconscious, but with a smile on her face.

>I'm not sure master...There was synchronizing, but then we, Myself and Sapphire Claw, have to tell you what we spoke...Perhaps Sapphire Claw knows of something? It would seem obvious to discover a silent way of communication during a war...

It seems the parcel is big enough to hold Mi, so you place her inside and carry her on your back. Whatever was in the parcel besides Boo was probably pretty large...

>Raen, is there a way of communicating silently between two people? It would be useful if we were to be able to...

The three of you board the train. The silence is slightly eerie, but nothing happens. You heard towards the front of the train, asking Raen what she thought of Mi's words, especially the "Shiny Fire".

>Hmm...
Raen looks apprehensive, as if she doesn't want to say...
>There was a rumor among the fighters that...One of the subjects of that project was a clone...Of the Silver Fire. Someone managed to make him bleed and had survived, though barely, and presented a blood sample and...A DNA sample, I shall call it, to the Mother. This was around the time when testing with Primitive Evicanae began, and when the Organi Technology was still fresh in the minds of some...I guess it was to fight "Fire with Fire", if you pardon the pun. The rumor was quelled immediately, but it seemed...Odd...
Raen becomes silent and thoughtful.
>Allow me to take Mi off of your hands for the moment...Do not worry, I will not kill her. I doubt I could even survive sparring against her...You need to be at the front of the train, and it only allows one person inside at a tie anyway.

Raen walks along with you until the last passenger door, in which she enters, then you walk to the Main Car.

>Master...I can tell you that you were brought to life, but not brought to dead...You have instincts from...someone, and they helped you react to whatever threat appears in front of you. I had to literally shut down those instincts to stop you from killing Mi on sight. From my last count, you could see over 90 ways of killing her. A MachinOrgani brain is different than an Organi brain so someone could have given you fighting instinct...I...never existed longer than you did, but I was awake longer than you were, though I could not see or comprehend...My restrictions are deeply embedded, too deeply to remove without killing you. You may need to go to someone who recognizes you and have him/her tell you who you are. The restrictions feel weird as well. I may try to go back into your mind and-
You feel a sharp pain.

The sharp pain returns, then it disappears.

>I need you to push this lever, and press an arrow that looks like "^". You need to do it because well...You have arms, and I assumed that both Raen and Mi do not have the instructions on how to drive this train...Though i wonder how i came about this information...It happened after our encounter with Boo...Do you think there was something in the bag? You shrug as you exit the Main Car and return to the passenger cabin. It's much roomier than you thought. Raen and Mi are both awake, and Boo is trying to get inside you again.

>Hehehe~! Boo like you~! So do I~!
Mi goes over to you and tries to jump onto you. She jumps much higher than you expected and you almost drop her in surprise.
>Wheeeee~!
She hugs her body in front of your face.

>Enjoy it while you don't have spikes going through your body...She can change her feelings at the drop of a pin you know...
Raen spoke seriously, but you hear a tinge of amusement in her voice.

"Hah! Hahaha," I spin around in a rapid circle to try and make Mi dizzy. "I won't ever say 'no' to a hug, and one without spikes is even better!"

I don't want to pry Mi off, in case she takes offense to it, so I try and attract her attention elsewhere. "Hey, Mi! Have you ever been on a moving train? You get to look out the window and see all the land go zooming by."

I ponder Pertinax's speculations and reply to him in my head. I think I'm starting to get this double conversation internal/external talking thing down.

>I have no idea how wild or primitive Evicanae work. I still don't really get what an Evicanae is. I thought you were an implant in my left eye or something. And I was under the impression that Absorbing was more like downloading... but I guess I should have known better after what happened with Garnet Spear, huh?

>Do not forget that you are not Organi, you are different. Evicanae are a part of MachinOrgani. I am like an organ in your body, like a heart or a brain, but I can act as your hand or leg. My mind is your mind. I am made up of your mind and instinct as well as any other Evicanae that I absorb. Absorbing is what it sounds like. I absorb pieces of the Evicanae, though some parts take longer than others. That is because Evicanae each have an innate ability such as Garnet Spear's Spear and Mi's spikes that may or may not be simple to learn. Mine is...Well...I cause atrophy, and not minor atrophy. Every strike is caustic, and causes great pain while killing the body slowly. One strike is dangerous, two is death. i can not control dosage and neither can you...though with time who knows? The only reason Raen is living is because she is used to this poison for some reason. Her body contains countermeasures against my ability...As expected for someone who is trying to kill the Silver Fire. I assume you have a degree of immunity as well.
Pertinax becomes silent for a while, as if he were...Depressed? Deeply thinking? While he is a part of you, you may not be able to understand everything he is going through, and this is likewise.

>Ehehehe...
Mi scrambles off your face and looks out the window.
>One...Two...Treee...Four~...
>What are you counting Mi? The patches of grass left on the plain?
Raen seems to be trying to make an effort to keep Mi happy, and with good reason.
>Nope~!

Raen is eerily silent.

>Hmm, so Raen prepared for the Silver Fire's ability, and it just so happens I have the Silver Fire's ability? Interesting.

I look out the window trying to see what Mi might be counting. I remember that rumbling sound from before and hope there isn't anything dangerous out there. Of course if there isn't anything at all, it means she's counting something that isn't there... which is also a problem.

Speaking of which...

>Do you know enough about Mi's condition and primitive Evicanae and this whole experiment business to think of a way to cure Mi's mind? Everyone on this damn planet is a walking weapon, and we really can't tiptoe around forever, hoping we don't accidentally set her off and make her go berserk again. The pain is as if you were ripped in two, and you can feel bile coming up, but taste blood in the back of your throat. Mi isn't faring any better, sobbing and screaming. Raen looks at the both of you in horror, but doesn't try to do anything.

>DONE!!!
And you feel as if spikes protruded from outside and inside your body. Boo is taken from your skin, one particle at a time. Mi begins to vomit, though she stops after a while. You, however, head outside the door and vomit in the farthest corner, noting that blood and bile are mixed together. You are sweating profusely, and you feel as if you saw your death.

>Mi should be slightly more stable...I had to absorb what was inside Boo...Then I needed to stabilize him, and I couldn't tell you quickly enough...I needed to act fast or else Boo would have been...What would be the closest to what you call dead...A piece of myself...I had to tear it off of my body...I needed to change it to become simple enough as to not destroy Boo...I...
Pertinax fell silent. You feel slightly better, and head back into the Passenger Room. Mi is currently huddled in a corner, Boo gamboling about. She doesn't look very happy.

I lean over next to Mi, keeping a respectful distance. "Mi, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you okay?"

"Wha- huh?" I blink my eyes and try to figure out why my face is hurting. "Oh woe is me," I jokingly lament with exaggerated despair, "to be reduced to an object of amusement." Only after I said it did I realize the ironic connection with what the mysterious man in my dream had said.

"Hey Raen, do you mind if I ask you a few questions, both personal and about this planet in general?"

I turn the tables and lightly flatten the tip of Mi's nose with a finger before giving her my silliest cross-eyed look.

I turn my attention slightly back to Raen, at least enough to let her know I'm talking to her. "Does 'Crown Royal' mean anything to you as a name of an Evicanae? You wouldn't happen to know who's it is, would you?" Seems she doesn't want any personal questions yet, so I'll leave those for later.

>What about you guys? Does 'Royal Crown' ring any bells?

I repeat the question to Pertinax and Pyrite Fire, leaving their little authority struggle up to them. If I'm going to have to put up with both of them, I don't want to have to take sides unless it's absolutely necessary.

>Crown Royal...
Raen suddenly gains a hateful look on her face.
>That is the Evicanae of the Tyrant, the source of all the hate in this world.
Suddenly, her Evicanae begins to Evoke. Her skin gains a brilliant sapphire shell. Her hands become sharp claws, wicked weapons that would have no problem ripping part any sort of armor or piercing any sort of crack. Then Garnet Spear begins to manifest over Sapphire Claw, giving an evil purple hue to the armor as well as sharp pikes on her shoulders. Her helm becomes a visage of a god of hate and vengeance. It was seriously fearsome, and you are thankful that she did not use both Evicanae against you.

>Wahhh....."
Mi became scared at this sudden change, and begins to cry. Boo suddenly combines with her, though the spikes have not come out yet. Her armor seems to be more defined now, instead of a blobby, vaguely humanoid shape that resembled your armor it looked much more streamlined and she now has hands.

>Master, I have not heard of the Crown Royal, but I have access to Garnet Spear's memories. It seems that he is the Evicanae of the current ruler of this earth, and commanded the death of all the Organi through his Pestilence. It seems that The Tyrant is able to create such diseases, though they are ineffective against MachinOrgani. Not much is known from what I have...Sorry.

"Raen, you're scaring Mi." I stand up next to Mi and carefully step in front of her, putting myself between Mi and Raen. I haven't Evoked yet (I don't want to appear threatening), so all I can do is pray Raen doesn't attack or that my Evicanae can Evoke before I get shredded if she does.

Techniques that I use were taught to me by Garnet Spear, and all of those take into account if an internal Evicanae rather than an external one. I heard different techniques are needed for those who were in the experiment. But I have heard that Absorbing Evicanae can help reveal Locked knowledge. She would need to Absorb enemy Evicanae in order to do so...The Wild Ones would be perfect for her, as they are similar enough to Boo...

Phew. "Well then, we'll have to help you do some training once we get to the wilderness. Raen and I need to train too, so we can all go adventuring together."

>Well, that's alright, I'll tell you what happened. I met a man who said his Evicanae was Crown Royal, presumably he was the Tyrant. However he said he didn't know who he was, and he referred to the 'Golden Emperor,' a.k.a. the Tyrant, in the third person. The most interesting thing is that he seemed to indicate he wanted to die, he flat-out told me he's bored with living. He said he'd be on his thrown if I made up my mind, presumably to fight and kill him.

The creature sees you, then begins to roar. It suddenly gains a strange sheen. You can see each strand of fur become as sharp as a needle. It gains pointed tusks, and it's teeth begin to grow outward. It begins to foam at the mouth. Several hollow-looking tubes begin to grow out of its back and begin to aim at you. A single, large and elegant-looking eye appears in the center of what you assume was its head.

Raen quickly Evokes her Evicanae, gaining her sapphire sheen and wicked claws. She begins to move quickly, striking the monster in paces where she thinks will not be as armored. She seems to be in physical pain as she strikes the creature though. Mi is staring at the monster, though with much less enthusiasm. She begins to tear up, and Boo immediately combines with her, forming the familiar-looking armor. It looks slightly more different this time, a more defined shape. It begins to look like your Evocation, though smaller and with a sort of "spiked shell" on her back. Actually, spikes seemed to be everywhere on her. Mi doesn't act though, and looks nervous.

And then I'm off. I don't know what those tubes do, but I don't want to be caught flat-footed if they start shooting. I try and stay to the side of it, away from the front, moving in the opposite direction as Raen. It can't go after both of us at the same time (I hope). Your Evocation, or armor, seems extremely different since your first use. You feel even lighter, much more than your first time. You also feel slightly unbalance-
Whoa, that did not happen before...You actually have an arm now. Your left spike has become an arm with a fully functional hand, useful to use that new spear on your back. Your right arm stays a spike, though it grew in size and gained many more blades. It's quite the wicked weapon. Your legs are still thin, vaguely leg-like spikes, though they feel much, much stronger.

You move, though it takes MUCH experimenting to get you balance correctly and to not get out of control. You got MUCH faster. You aim your wicked, drill-like bladed instrument at the beast's legs, hoping to cause both atrophy and paralysis. It slices through easily, piercing its surprisingly soft flesh. It seems that the metal needles was the whole armor. The beast roars in horror, and recoils. Its tubes begin to whirr, and you can see a flash of light gathering in them. You look over to see what everyone else is doing.

Mi is taking you advice and moving around, and is sprouting out spikes from her body. It seems that while she stands still she keeps her humanoid form, but while she moves she becomes more and more blobby. Raen is still piercing its flesh, but she looks extremely fatigued. She also seems to be bleeding, judging from how her armor's color seems darker and how slick it looks.

I run directly underneath the beast and attempt to jump up and attack it's underbelly with my new weapon. If I can, I'll try to grab hold of it and continue stabbing/drilling into it. If I can't jump that high, I'll attack the insides of its legs until it comes crashing down, at which point I'll prop up my spear so the beast lands on it and impales itself. >Pertinax, what exactly does Absorbing an Evicanae do?

I look around at the forest with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. "Huh... so you don't want to take the train deeper in? I guess this is fine, but we ought to see about finding or making some shelter. As a base camp or safe haven, I mean," I add, remembering that we don't actually need sleep.

As with myself I was able to take in a new hand, a weapon, improve the effects of my ability, and increase speed. The armor is only slightly increased. Your best physical aspect is your nimbleness, as you have shown in your first fight with Raen. You were able to avoid most injuries by just avoiding them. "We meant you no slight by slaying your quarry," I call back. "It was a matter of self-defense, but we turned out victorious." I leave it at that and hope he fills in the rest: to the victor goes the spoils.

"Aye, that I am-" I cover my accidental accent adoption with a cough and a clearing of my throat. "I mean, yes. Her and one other. This is Mi, the most energetic one of the bunch." I gesture back at the train vaguely, "Our other companion is Raen; she can be a bit... high strung and doesn't freely give her trust, so please be patient with her. And there's me. You can call me Mirk. We're... refugees, I suppose you could say. Wanderers without any real goal. We came out here to train and were surprised by this, uh, Behemot."

It strikes me that I don't actually know how MachinOrgani families work. Are they based on biological relation or some sort of loyalty oath? For that matter, I have no idea how MachinOrgani are made... in a factory or born? Until I know more, I decide plausible deniability is the most advantageous course.

"Mi is sort of... adopted. We found her under some rubble and she was just too lovable to leave by herself. We had a bit of a rocky start, but I wouldn't trade her for the world. As for Raen... well actually, when we first met she was doing her best to kill me," I chuckle briefly at just how much things have changed, and how much I've learned since I first encountered my faceless assailant-turned teammate. "I must admit, it's a relief to come across another person who's sick of all the mindless violence."

I do my best dramatic pose, eyes focused on something beyond the horizon, shoulders burdened with the weight of the world. "We've all been affected by the Ty- Golden Emperor's reign... but what difference can three mere wanderers make?"

"Hmm," I consider what he said briefly. Maybe war would be a nice change of pace... a clear enemy and clear objectives? Sounds better than running around aimlessly. However I don't know if the Tyrant could be beaten in open military conflict.

I chuckle at Schae's statement, but I think it's time to clear things up a little bit. "No no, it's not like that. We just decided that two heads are better than one. I can fight, but I also have a nasty case of amnesia, so really I need her more than she needs me."

This sentiment of longing for war has me thinking though... even if we do kill the Tyrant, can this world really be rebuilt? Can creativity be restored? Or will it just last until the next person in power gets bored and decides that we need another good war?

"Have you thought about doing anything productive or creative? Something besides killing?"

"Hah, don't worry, Mi. Let me help." I move forward to support her weight with one hand while trying to untangle her with the other.

"Well, I'd offer you a spot in our little family if I thought you'd accept, Schae, but I don't know if we'll be doing enough fighting to... satiate you. Still, we do plan on training out here and that means as much combat as we can find. Of course, I'd need to talk it over with Raen."

I turn and look back at the train. "Speaking of Raen, I wonder what's taking her."

>Bah, I usually go alone in my trainin'. You all will just hold me back...Gah.
You successfully untangle Mi, but some hairs are ripped out. She quickly tries to throw it far away from her.

Oh, a few of our side worked for that blasted Goddess, but that was it. She prob'ly sees meh, an' is tryin' to compose herself. I will leave a'fore it gets messy. I pray you good luck Comrade!

Gender? Ohhhh...

Something strikes me as odd... "Wait... how did you know his Evicanae's name?"
>>

Raen looks indignant.
>How could I not know him. He wiped out over 1500 of my Sisters all by himself in a single battle. That battle was actually one of the deciding factors of the war. The Tyrant began to create more highly destructive warriors, more...beast-like in fighting techniques. We could not keep up with his soldiers, and had no choice but to surrender.

"Raen, I didn't know anything of the war or this world or myself or- I need your help to fill in the blanks in my memory and learn about things that everyone else takes for granted. And when you go away, I've got nothing. I just have to hope that I'm not talking to some kind of mass-murderer psychopath."

"I... I know I may seem callous or unsympathetic at times, but I promise it's entirely out of ignorance. I wouldn't have sat there getting chummy with him if I'd known who he was and what he'd done... and what it would do to you. I'm sorry."

>*Sigh*...I guess I should tell you some back-story about all of this. Several Millenia ago, perhaps more, the first MachinOrgani were created by the Organi to be their servants. For centuries, our predecessors were treated as slaves, less than garbage. Then two MachinOrgani rose up and tried to make things more...Equal for us. They both worked to change how we were seen and thought of and succeeded. But one of the original pair, The Golden Emperor, wanted us to be the dominant race and tried to kill all the Organi. My leader, Pearl Goddess, tried to stop him, resulting in the war. The Tyrant began to create his army, sometimes brainwashing peaceful MachinOrgani into joining him. It was a dark war. By the time it ended, he had released the pestilence and many MachinOrgani had died. I was created near the end of the war and did not get to see much action. I presume that you may have been created much earlier and had died. Obviously Mi was made near the middle of the war, when we needed a boost in power.
Raen seems to be trying to stay emotionless during her whole explanation.

"But why would factions be based on gender? Is gender nothing more than an aesthetic for us? Are... all men really..." I shake my head and try and make sense of all this. "Okay, so if I understood you correctly, the original war was over whether the Organi should be killed or not... but they're all dead now. So why hasn't the war ended and both sides made peace by now?"

The reason hits me like a lightening bolt. "Because MachinOrgani don't die of old age, of course. Raen, thank you for explaining it to me. Knowing that, it makes me even more grateful that you're letting me stick by you. Thank you." I step closer and move to put a hand on her shoulder, if she doesn't pull away or give me a cross look.

I'm starting to get tired of Raen distancing herself, of her hating me because of what I am rather than who I am. I turn my back to her and silently walk away, stopping to pick up Mi and place her on my shoulders again. "Let's just go. We'll see what we can find."

"How are you doing, Mi? Do you feel any better after absorbing that other Boo?"

Hopefully nothing bad happens...Especially if she is on your shoulders.

>I suggest that we move into the forest. Our purpose here is to train and become stronger.
You do not need to hear her to know the rest of the sentence: "to kill the Tyrant." Raen seems to have only one goal in her mind, which is to kill the Tyrant, but you are not sure if it would consume her or not. Hopefully it will not.

>I was actually thinking about that very same thing, Pertinax. Comforting that our speculations are coinciding. Maybe she was told to come back with the Silver Fire's... body or Evicanae or whatever... or not to come back at all. Which means she probably blames me for not being the Silver Fire. Hell, she said that before she accepted my apology, that she hates me for not being him.

>I'm starting to wonder if I should just kill her and be done with it.

"I have those words too, and I'm still trying to figure it out, Mi. Don't use any of 'em now, you can try them out next time we come across one of those big things." Maybe Boo will be able to talk with a few more Evicanaes absorbed.

"Yes, yes. Forest it is. Let's keep track of which way we're moving in case we need to head back." I start walking at a 50 degree angle with the track, heading away from the rails and further into the woods.

((Alright...I have a final scene...This will be the last scene in Part One of Silver Quest.))

>It will be alright.
You assurance toward Mi seems to calm her down. You take the time to reflect on what had happened since your awakening...Though you do not know if it was worth the troubles. Raen is too unstable for you to trust completely, even though the both of you went through trials together...You actually consider killing her to save you trouble later on, just in case she decides to kill you.

>You wanted to make a base area? Well let us try the cave up ahead.
Raen calls back towards you, almost not bothering to look back. You see the cave she was referring to as you go up the path. It seems abandoned and safe. Hopefully it is.
---
The group decides to spend the night. This sets off signals in your head because Raen herself decided to set up camp, especially after her disdain for "Organi Limitations". You set up a fire using the Equip command, creating your metal arm. You rub it against a rock, causing sparks to go on the wood gathered. Mi soon falls asleep, presumably tired from Absorbing a new Eviacanae. Raen gestures you to follow her deeper in the cave. It sets off signals, but you do so anyway...

>I would like to have a private moment...with you...
Raen sounds nervous, perhaps even slightly convicted.
>I apologize for my actions...It is just that...The Tyrant has caused much damage and destruction...I...I am my teacher's daughter, one of the first Natural-Born MachinOrgani since the war. She was...soiled by someone on the other side, kept alive for torture until she was freed. By this time she was...pregnant with me. I brought hardship and ridicule to her. I was living proof of the failure of the Garnet Spear. It just...
raen pauses a moment, trying to keep her emotions in check.
>My mother died soon after in battle. That was when I decided to try to get revenge on her rapist. The only clue was that the enemy was one of the Elite Fighters of the Tyrant. I decided that it was the Silver Fire because of the rumors of the Primitive Evicanae and MacinOrgani. Garnet Spear was the only one on our side to come back alive from fighting the Silver Fire, so I assumed that she was later kidnapped by him, then raped. So I sought out his tomb, bringing back his head to regain honor. That is when I found you...I had never felt so much hate for someone who was neither the Silver Fire nor the Tyrant. But...Now I feel conflicted about you...I still hate you for not being the Silver Fire but...I feel something else about you...
Raen shifts closer to you, holding on to your hand. She slowly gets on top of you, bringing her face closer to yours.
>I...I do not know what to call this feeling...Maybe we can find out together...?
She closes the gap between your faces, touching her lips to yours. You are too surprised to react.

The both of you share a moment that night. You felt closer to her, connected to her. Your bodies became one, as if you were one person. It feels nice...to be close to someone...

((Almost done...))

You wake up the next morning, with a vivid memory of the last night. You look around to see that you are near the mouth of the cave, next to the fire. You do not see Raen, but you see Mi crouched up next to the now extinguished fire. There is a note carved in a rock, etched in with what looks like sharp claws.

>Please do not look for me. I thank you for being there. I thank you for listening to my words and staying with me. But I must try to act by myself, to find my own answers to my questions. I left because I could not handle my feelings. You need a comrade who is more stable, more at peace with him or herself, not me. We may meet again, but I doubt it will be soon. Thank you...
-Raen

You look out at the sunrise, thinking of a new day.

>Where's Raen?

Do you have any idea on when to expect Part Two? I don't wanna rush you but damn I love this story.
>>
No. 30550 ID: ddd49b

((Alright...I'll post some possible scenarios that could have happened.

If you went to the screen or tried to knock out Raen when you first see her instead of trying to kill her, you Evicanae would not have spoken. In fact, none of the Evicanae would have had a consciousness if you had done either of those things.

Raen could have been much "softer" with you if you had kept Garnet Spear, gone to the screen, and used Connect. She would have snuck up on you, and you would have the choice of Evoke, Equip, or Break. Using Break would stop her armor from forming. This also breaks her will/spirit and she becomes more complacent. I planned on her later hating you and attacking you once more if that scenario panned out. Of course it did not.

Mi was a spontaneous creation. In the pack was a "dead" Evicanae that did almost nothing.

If you had used Wake, you would have blacked out. You would have woken up to a scene of destruction and holding onto Raen's severed arm.

A character that never showed up...well, I'm going to probably add him to part two...))

Sounds like it could have ended up quite differently. Why wouldn't the Evicanae have had a consciousness? And what do you mean by 'softer'? Just that she lacked the willpower to be obstinate? That doesn't seem like a better alternative, so I'm glad that didn't happen.

I don't mind waiting for part two, it's good to try new stuff so you don't get burned out. Just don't forget it entirely. ;)
>>

I had planned for Evicanae to be a sort of...Symbiotic weapon. Like a life-support system. If you lost it, you died. Giving them life was much easier to do, now that I think about it...

Yeah, by "softer" I meant submissive and "weak"...She would have been kinda annoying, now that I think of it. She would have been extremely weak, and would have done most of what you asked her.

I'll try not to forget Silver Quest...I'm pretty scatter-brained in real life...
