Hmmm...
Just pulling the lever like that doesn't strike me as a good idea...
inspecting the room, this looks like a gas chamber.
there is a metal plate on rails that could slide over the airducts, holes by the ceiling, and the door is sealed off by a metal plate.

Let's have a vote, I'll put myself down for "don't":

Do it - I
Don't - II

Do it.

I saw this in a Spiderman movie once. You'll just get slightly bigger muscles and voices in your head, which you already have anyway.

Voting don't. No switch, lever, or button that tries to convince someone to use it can possibly end well.

You could wedge the smaller box into the track of the vent before pulling the lever, or using the grate on the door.

Don't pull it.

Alright, I'm not going to pull this lever.
I am honestly very relieved with this turnout!

Think logically for a moment, Alice. If this WERE a gas chamber, why would they put the on/off switch INSIDE?

Besides, have we been given any reason to mistrust Preacher as of yet? (Honest question, as this observer doesn't have perfect memory of everything that's happened.)

You didn't get this far by being afraid of what could happen - you JUMPED DOWN AN ELEVATOR SHAFT, for goodness' sakes. You can do it! Be brave!

>reason to mistrust preacher?

Well, the guy nailed to the couch was put there by Preacher, and Cid was starved by Preacher. Sorta makes me a bit uncertain of the guy.

1. To kill people silly enough to fall for it? As a sadistic joke?

2. The holes or markings at the top of the room indicate something could come through (gas? acid? water?) or that the room is 'different'.

3. The door could seal off easily, and why is there a sliding panel that covers the air vent we could escape through should something bad happen? (gas)

Maybe we could get someone we don't care about to try it.

Go back to the terminal and see what's on that CD. And do it quick-like, before you change your mind about that lever.

You know, honestly, ever since that whole mask business started, things haven't been very logical.
Besides, the lever may have been rewired.

I return to the terminal to see whats on this CD.
When I insert it, the AI on screen gives me a warning:

Well someone's fucked up big time, guess we already figured that one out.

If we have any codes, try them, otherwise guess we take the disk with us and return to the 'maybe trapped' room again?
>>
No. 32458 ID: 954933

Now we get to decide which we'd rather do - go through the gear, or pull the lever.

I'm personally voting for the gear, though I really do think the lever is nothing to worry about.

If we have quicksave, then I'd say try the lever. Otherwise, a vote for the gear.

Taking a moment to let you sort out if I should go trough the cog, and if we should view these files, ill tease Jason for a bit.

Just got finished reading the first 3 sessions, and this is honestly one of my favorite quests now. However, my inner grammar Nazi has been screaming in my head the entire time. It's "through", not "trough", for example. Still, it's no big deal, and I love the quest.

Anyway...

Actually, this is totally not true. If a limb is completely severed, your body stops sending blood down that way. Everything closes up and just kinda seeps. Having something taken all the way off is better than a massive wound on a still-attached limb (well, as far as bleeding to death goes).
