Looks like we're gonna have to do things 'Freeman' style.

Check that the door to the south really won't open for you, if it does, go through, if not, head back to the darkened office.

USE coins on VENTILATION SHAFT to loosen the screws and climb in, arm crowbar for safety and keep flash-light on.

In order for it to be an argument, it has to actually include reasons. 'Something doesn't sit right' and "I doubt anything will go wrong' aren't reasons, they're speculation. And they aren't helpful whatsoever in making a decision.

Therefore he's just repeating his previously stated position.

Those look like arguments to me. But even if it was simply a rephrasing of the previous statement, is that really a problem?

Trying to crawl underneath the gear, no matter how slow moving it may be, seems like an unnecessary risk to take before it is certain Alice needs to go that way.

I never said it was a problem. I just said repeating it doesn't make it any more valid.

And again, those are both purely speculative. He doesn't know if she can climb back up, and he doesn't know if she would see it.

there is a metal plate on rails that could slide over the airducts, holes by the ceiling, and the door is sealed off by a metal plate.

Think logically for a moment, Alice. If this WERE a gas chamber, why would they put the on/off switch INSIDE?

Besides, have we been given any reason to mistrust Preacher as of yet? (Honest question, as this observer doesn't have perfect memory of everything that's happened.)

You didn't get this far by being afraid of what could happen - you JUMPED DOWN AN ELEVATOR SHAFT, for goodness' sakes. You can do it! Be brave!

1. To kill people silly enough to fall for it? As a sadistic joke?

2. The holes or markings at the top of the room indicate something could come through (gas? acid? water?) or that the room is 'different'.

3. The door could seal off easily, and why is there a sliding panel that covers the air vent we could escape through should something bad happen? (gas)

Maybe we could get someone we don't care about to try it.

Alice if you don't patch that up you will be dead in minutes.

You're already going to pass out from the pain in a couple seconds.

Basically, you are already dead.

Man, too bad it didn't rip more of your leg off. You would look great with a peg leg.

Actually, this is totally not true. If a limb is completely severed, your body stops sending blood down that way. Everything closes up and just kinda seeps. Having something taken all the way off is better than a massive wound on a still-attached limb (well, as far as bleeding to death goes).
