What am I doing? I'm painting her face, like you suggested. It makes sense -- it is an old custom in our village, a symbolic oath.
All I had to do was find a few arobaro roots just under the sand and extract some of their creamy pigment. Not a hard task.

With this gesture, I cement our friendship, and promise we will see each other again. Hopefully she'll be satisfied.

No, it's not like a wedding vow. It's just a gesture to show sincerity and friendship, and a promise to return.

It wouldn't be proper to sleep in the tent with Illeena, but more importantly, I have to keep watch for any dangers. So I'll spend the night outside. Thankfully, at least, it seems like a quiet night.
