We found Neela in the medical bay right? So then were did this doctor type person come from? Also, ready your gun and/or a broom. We don't know who she is, if Ire is coming for us, or who the bleeding person is. And if the stabbed guy dies make sure to double tap; we don't need to add zombies to our list of problems.

No, we found Neela in her room, 2 floors above us.

>>232685

I... What? No.

"Mind if I speak with him?"

>"Well, he asked to be left alone, but I don't suppose it will cause any harm."

She leads me to the door and enters the room with me following behind her.

>"John, someone is here to see you."

A man sits practically in a pool of blood in the corner of the room. He looks up weakly as we enter. There is a LMG propped up against the cabinet to his side.

The Doctor leaves the room.

WE HAVE COMPANY. OH, AND IT BROUGHT THE SHIP WITH HIM. I HAVE BEEN AWAITING OUR MEETING, IT IS A PLEASURE TO MAKE YOUR ACQUAINTANCE.

Jimithy does not appear to hear this.

"Uh hi. . . I was wondering. . ."

>"You don't look like one of the normal crew."

The man sounds surprisingly strong despite his condition.

"Er, I'm a janitor."

>"Ah, then you wouldn't be a part of the normal ranks."

There is a random voice that seems rather overly interested in those who can't hear it...perhaps this should be investigated...but wait...we are supposed to be poking the grizzled man...

I don't hear a voice, nor is there anything wrong with his voice. . .

"Is there anything I can do to help with your wound? I could probably. . ."

>"Nah, that's alright. It's nothing really.

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOUR PROGRESS, AND IT HAS BEEN. . . SLOWER THAN I ANTICIPATED.

I HAD THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE A LOT STRONGER BY NOW. BUT YOU WILL GROW IN TIME.

"Well then, I am looking for a friend, her name is Neela."

>"Aye, I came across a gal by that name on my way up here. She was being attacked by some crazy guy with a knife. That's where I got this wound."

"Why isn't she here then? Where did she go?"

>"She went back into the elevator when I showed up.

He coughs up some blood.

>"Got out of there while I distracted the beast. I think she took the elevator up."

"Thanks. . . Are you sure you're alright?"

The man smiles weakly.

Can't something be done about that condescending voice? Trying getting a hearing aid and see if you can actually hear it...It seems like it could be a helpful entity but we may wish to blow it up.

Also-Grizzled man you helped Neela, why do you insist on bleeding out alone and without comfort?

Without waiting for a reply, static invades your vision. A red light appears in the middle of your view.

YOU DO NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND. YOU NEED TO BE STRONG, AND YET HERE YOU ARE RELYING ON THE WEAK TO MOVE AROUND. I HAVE WAITED FAR TOO LONG ONLY TO SEE YOU MESS EVERYTHING UP.

THEY THINK THEY CAN CONTROL YOU, YOU MUST SHOW THEM THAT THEY ARE WRONG. DEAD WRONG.

So? Let them think that. If and when we need to prove otherwise, it'll be more to our favor than if we act with bluster now. Be it pride, malice or just impatience behind your words I don't see a reason to heed them.

You don't want us to "mess everything up"? Then explain what that means and what you are doing here. I assume you are the "piece" Ire spoke of.

I SEE. I HAVE WAITED SO LONG, TO BE SO CLOSE IS IRRITATING. PERHAPS I CAN WAIT A LITTLE LONGER.

WE HAVE A COMMON ENEMY. AN ENEMY I WISH TO SEE DESTROYED.

I AM NOT THE PIECE THAT GRAND ASSASSIN IRE SEEKS. I MUST GO NOW, BUT KNOW THIS: WE ARE PIECES OF A LARGER PART. A PART OUR ENEMIES SEEK TO BE REBUILT IN SUBMISSION TO THEIR GOALS.

So, to put it simply, you are us. Or rather a different us. So what ever we are was broken/shattered/whatever into several peices. And someone/something wishes to use the combined us as a pawn. This makes a great deal of sense considering all the strangeness as of late, but how do we know you are telling the truth?

YOU ARE SURPRISINGLY ACCURATE, ALTHOUGH TO WHAT DEGREE I CANNOT SAY.

AS TO HOW YOU CAN TELL IF I AM TELLING THE TRUTH? THATS THE FUN PART.

"Nope, can't think of anything."

>"Alright, now if you'd excuse me, I have to get my things together. I guess you win, Wisdom.

I KNEW YOU'D SEE THINGS MY WAY, JOHN.

I head back out to the Medical Bay front desk. The Doctor is here.

>"Yes?"

"What happened, you know, during the launch? What's going on?"

>"Well, I am not quite sure exactly what happened, but I'm fairly safe here."

"Hows that? I've been shot at everywhere I go, and you don't even look armed."

>"Well, they did come up here, but as it turns out, a medical degree can actually save your life. I am apparently the only survivor with a medical degree since all of theirs didn't make it in the launch, so in exchange for my medical advice and skills, I am allowed to stay up here in relative peace."

The door to the inner medical room opens. John is standing there, this time with an LMG strapped to his arm, body armor, and a cigarette.

>"I think its time to get moving."

The doctor looks surprised.

>"Just a minute ago I was about ready to declare you dead, and not only are you still concous with such a wound, but your now leaving?"

He takes a quick puff of his cig then says flatly:

>"I have things I need to do."

He walks out the door.

"H-hey, wait!"

I catch up to him, and walk beside him towards the elevator.

>"I understand you have a friend to find. As I said earlier, I believe she took the elevator up. I am sure you will find her."

"Thanks, but what about you?"

>"I am taking the elevator down, into the belly of the beast, as it were."

We reach the elevator.

>"I don't think there are any of them in the upper decks right now, they should be converging in the Military wing. I would avoid that area as much as possible, especially without heavy support."

"Yeah, but-"

>"Don't worry, you'll be fine."

"Hold on. The doctor was saying that you were pretty much dead, and yet here you are standing, ready to get back into the fight that got you almost killed in the first place. Why arn't you dead?

>"Because Jimithy, some of us are fortunate enough to choose when we die."

The elevator door closes and I begin my ascent. But which floor, and where on that floor should I look?

Silly me <.<

*beeeep*

The elevator doors open, and I step out to the silent corridor. Earlier, there were countless bodies strewn through out the halls and rooms, but they are missing now. It almost looks as though nothing has happened at all.

"I'm not really hungry, but I am somewhat interested in what the outside looks like. I haven't seen much of it."

I begin my way through the silent corridors towards the External Weapons Panel.

"The Weapons Panel is basically where they house the controls for any external weapons. Supposedly its attached to a viewing room that they use to visually see test fires."

We arrive at a door with the words External Weapons Panel above it. I walk in cautiously, but find no one inside.

Finding nothing of glaring interest, I walk through a circular room with a raised platform in the center with computers seated towards the center. I enter the Viewing Room on the other side.

It is a dimly lit room with a single chair on the back wall facing towards a large metal clamped window. To the side of the room is a control panel.
