Ok, there's a lot to sort through, so give us some patience.
After Master L was wounded fighting one of Dart's assassins (He was lucky, we got it to give away its position so it couldn't hit him with a sneak attack) we popped over to his head and he said something to the effect that he 'always thought he would see Amy again'
We asked Cecil who he was talking about, and Cecil told us he probably meant Amy Sky, so we did some investigating.
Currently we suspect that the incident that destroyed the the magic school was a failed attempt at resurrection.
When we asked Cecil about the school's destruction he mentioned he found the following rune there traced with Red Tincture powder:

Following this we had an associate scry for Amy Sky's location, which returned the following symbol:

While it's obviously the circle of life, we noticed that there was a trace which ran counter to the grain.
At this point we hit a stumbling block, and decided to start looking for Lord Z because he vanished in the commotion.

So, right now our theory is that one of the school's masters attempted to resurrect Amy Sky and failed. While the red tincture would point towards the involvement of master L, the circle suggests that's not the whole story.
In all honesty we don't really care who was behind it, as their intentions were obviously good and they were motivated by love of one kind or another.
Now, if Lord Z was behind this hypothetical failed resurrection then it's likely he would go into hiding and possibly try again. Since we're suckers for happy endings we want to find her body so we can do a proper resurrection, and find Lord Z so we can help him work things out.

Oh, and it turns out you can use simple wizard magic to move the mind effects of the Shoujen and Shenjou curses to Soulless. We tested it on on Felix (dark/light elf mix, we think you met him at least once). Just giving you a heads up in case you want to help us free all of Dart's slaves once we kill him.

Indeed. Are you familiar with the name Felix Cathet? He remembers going to see you, but nothing surrounding the event. We're not sure how long ago it was, though. We are hoping to get an idea of how long Felix has been under Dart's control.

We have contacted King Sils already, and told him what we know about Dart. Apparently, one of Dart's men was impersonating a guard there, so you should be aware of possible infiltration attempts here in Central.

King Sils also wanted to make sure that General Gawain and General Safir are both ready to honor the treaty between he and the humans. I'll assume you're more aware of the treaties than we are.

We figure you'd be the best person to help us all out.

Anyway, he's not making soulless so he can control them or anything like that. The soulless are a byproduct of his use of dark magic. Every one you see is another person whose soul he ripped out.
The soulless are a waste product of him casting Dark Mana spells.

You know, like the one he crafted that erased a building from history?

Just give him a polite no. Hopefully he won't draft your ass and lose his happy demeanor like I'm expecting. Tell him your a bit of a rogue stallion or rebel that can't handle taking orders or some shit.

I'm afraid that turning him down sounds like the best idea at this point. He doesn't seem to consider your quest very worthwhile, and while being in the Royal Army would be very good, we don't have a month to waste on learning procedure.
