Imani's village has been stricken with a terrible plague. He, alone, has remained unaffected. No magic or medicine has been able to cure the affliction.

Imani can no longer stand to watch his friends suffer. The legends spoke of beings from beyond antiquity, dragons whose power transcended the bounds of mere mortals. Perhaps such a creature could be persuaded to save Imani's village.

In spite of his youth, or perhaps because of it, Imani climbs out of his home in the bottom of the world. If he wants a dragon to save his village, he'll need to find one.

The bridge seems to be in good repair, and so Imani crosses.

He can see from here that the Fundamite is, at best, the same quality as the fundamite that he has been working with.

Unfortunately, most of the fundamite that grows at the bottom of the world isn't terribly good. Most good fundamite is brought down by traders from above, where the fundamite is purer, but also rarer.

Well, snag it anyway. Use it to make your spike more hooky.
>>

Actually split it in half, using one half for a handle on one end of your rope. Then ues the rest to make the spike more like a multidirectional fish hook.

Imani can't fuse new fundamite to old firmamite without partially reshaping the old firmamite, resulting in a loss of some of the original material.

Even if he could, this would only be enough fundamite to do one of those two things.

Yay! Now we can swing without worrying about losing grip as much. When we find fundamite, we can add a hook and then we're really cooking with adventureing gas!

The bed contains nothing of interest, there are some large shirts underneath it but they are far too big for Imani.

On the shelf, Imani finds a book and a crystal. Imani can not read, so the book is not very interesting. But the crystal appears to be a chunk of Dense Fundamite!
