To explore new frontiers, to experience new realities, to embrace new worlds… and embrace the life on them, be it women, men or something else.

It’s a small thrust for you… but a huge plunge for Sakkilian kind!

Settle down, girl. You only have one womb. Arriving with another egg in there could make your date get awkward.

...unless he's into that sort of thing and wants to take things slow, then it's just efficient.

Yee.

Also your sister grew spikes. That is rad. Also, no fighting, or i'll tell the captain you've been naughty. Hell, you shouldn't be fighting in front of a commander either, stop that at once!

Yeah you should let Regina go for Zell then you can go for him after.

>I can imagine the clone being some big scary looking warrior queen but is actually a sweetheart on the inside. A funny nickname would be kaiju.
Isn’t she going to look like a female Zento? …so, yeah, she’ll probably look a bit like a warrior queen… let’s just hope you’re right with her being a sweetheart.
>Yeah a female nurse is strange considering they lean towards more commanding and aggressive occupations.
While it is still more common with male Sakkilian nurses, no one has batted an eye at female nurses for hundreds of years.
>We've never seen hybrids of the two species and maybe the hybrids will have some unique abilities and advantages.
Well, you need to start producing hybrids if you want to find that out, no?

>Settle down, girl. You only have one womb. Arriving with another egg in there could make your date get awkward.
Hey, you were just planning out things if Tozlan here didn’t get caught on the hook, alright? You didn’t know that he would immediately ask you on date.
>Unless he's into that sort of thing and wants to take things slow, then it's just efficient.
Considering how much attention he paying your belly last time, he’s very much into that sort of thing… though he’d probably prefer being the one that makes the belly in the first place.
>Yeah you should let Regina go for Zell then you can go for him after.
…does Regina even want to go after Zell? It wouldn’t surprise you, sure, but you haven’t seen any signs of them lusting after each other.

>Unless some disaster happens, I don't see why I wouldn't be.
:TozlanSA: Then it’s a… err…
:DoxySA: It’s a date, dummy.
:TozlanSA: Yes! A date! It really is.
:DoxySA: Yes.
:TozlanSA: Yes…
:DoxySA: Yes?
:TozlanSA: Err… yes… r-right… so… um… tomorrow?
:DoxySA: Uh huh?
:TozlanSA: Dinner?
:DoxySA: Yes?
:TozlanSA: Right. Dinner. Tomorrow.
:DoxySA: Yes.
:TozlanSA: …right.

>Tell the two in the background to play nice.
:TozlanSA: Huh? They are doing what now?
:DoxySA: Hey! Tizli! Eki! Don’t kill each other over there!
:TizliSA: It’s fine. This sludge dweller just surprised me, that’s all.
:IkekekiSA: KEKEKE! No one expects the buried Kelshin pirate! Least of all cowards like you!
:TizliSA: Hmpf… we’ll see about that, shrimp.
>No fighting, or I’ll tell the captain you've been naughty.
…you’re the sole Commander on the ship. If you want some respect then you can’t go crying to the Captain all the time, can you?
>…Tolzan, is it normal for you guys to suddenly grow spikes all over your bodies like that?
:TozlanSA: Oh? That? Well… it’s kind of a survival instinct I guess? See, friend, we can grow and manipulate our bones so… I guess it was in case some big insect tried to eat us?
:DoxySA: Heh, I guess they would be in for quite a surprise if you can do that… it looks super painful, though.
:TozlanSA: It feels kind of nice, actually… like finally getting out of a very tight uniform or something.
:DoxySA: Really?
:TozlanSA: Yeah, we even let them slip out when we stretch at times.
:DoxySA: It’s like your teeth, then? I’ve seen them grow as well?
:TozlanSA: Same bone structure, yeah… hmm, you have to excuse me, friend, I think I’m hearing my sister getting into trouble...
:DoxySA: Trouble? What kind?
:TozlanSA: I just heard her pick up a metal bucket, which I’m sure she’s planning to do something stupid with. Probably revenge towards the Kelshin.
:DoxySA: Well, handsome, don’t just swim there. Go and stop her.
:TozlanSA: Will do, Commander. May the river take you back to me, Doxy.
:DoxySA: See you later, Tozlan.

Right… you’re still in command for a while longer, right? You better make sure everyone is taking their time off and relaxing… by visiting the sun deck and bask in the sun for a bit. You’re sure most of the crew will be there, after all. Hmm… you wonder how the Captain is holding up? You can only hope Shara goes easy on him.

:ZentoSA: What? We’re not going to cuddle?
:SharaSA: Pff, no? Why the fuck would we?
:ZentoSA: Because it’s the best part?
:SharaSA: The best part is me getting an orgasm riding that fat cock of yours while you pump my next daughter into me. Not the cuddling shit.
:ZentoSA: And here I thought we should at least enjoy the afterglow together in the starlight.
:SharaSA: I think you’re getting our relationship completely fucking wrong, sir. While you might be my Captain out there, in here you’re nothing by a sperm factory for my baby maker.
:ZentoSA: Really?
:SharaSA: You’re my toy, to be kept or discarded at my whim, whelp. If you want to be anything more you better grow some backbone and goddess damn show it next time I need another daughter.
:ZentoSA: …you really think it’s going to be a daughter again?
:SharaSA: Of course! This pussy only pumps out the biggest, strongest Sakkilian’s around… and no offence, chief, but most gals are way bigger then you boys… hmm, with the exception of you of course, sir. Huh… maybe I’ll lay a boy that’s as large as you? …eh, no matter, I’m leaving.
:ZentoSA: Hey, can’t y-
:SharaSA: Need to get to Security before someone else grabs that job, so I’ll smell you later, daddy.

And she’s gone… and so is your feelings in your legs… *huff* You’re pretty sure she broke your pelvis in at least one spot. After a ride like that, being left like this feeling all sore and tired, you rather just relax and… you know what, you’re going to take the rest of the day off… maybe flip a few burgers in the Mess Hall if no one has taken that job yet… because ow… Still worth it, though.

A whole day passes…
Your crew consumes 12 unites of food.
Ensign Regina and Ensign Tescia works in the hydroponics bay and harvests 20 units of food.
Cap. Zento cooked up a meal in the Mess Hall, keeping the crews morale steady.

Ensign Vex, CDR. Doxy, Ensign Tizli and Guest Tozlan Completed the Research on the subject of Raolme physiology. Raolme can now do any crew activity without penalty.

3 ensigns did basic tasks.
The ongoing Maintenance work allowed for Ensign Zell to find and repair a fault in the food storage, saving 10 units of food for the ship.

:ZentoSA: Doxy, report.
:DoxySA: We will enter the Tarkus Alpha system in just half an hours, sir.
:ZentoSA: Is everything ready, Commander?
:DoxySA: We just need to strap ourselves in, sir.
:ZentoSA: Good. Anything else?
:DoxySA: We’ve finish our research on the Raolme, sir. I’ll patch you over to our son for further information.

:VexSA: Father? Do you read me?
:ZentoSA: Loud and clear, son. What do you have to report?
:VexSA: I have to say, these aliens biology is rather fascinating, and they are nothing like the species of our galaxy. For example, their bone structure can freely move through their body by somehow using the Ket’shan principle of-
:ZentoSA: Vex, just give me the quick facts, not the exact details how they work.
:VexSA: Oh… um… sure. Their bones are malleable, letting them bend all their limbs in any way they want, and can “grow” it out as either teeth or spikes. Their bite is also coated in a paralyzing venom, so don’t get bitten, sir.
:ZentoSA: I’m not planning on it.
:VexSA: They also don’t have hearts, instead using muscles all over their bodies to pump the blood around-
:ZentoSA: Vex, is there anything I actually need to know?
:VexSA: Um… well, we figured out how they “see”… or hear in this case. It’s kind of a really advance echolocation system that cannot only hear distances, but also materials and even colors. So going by that information, we figured out how to change our screens to make sure they can “see” properly on them. So… they should be able to pilot our ships now… after we make some comfier chairs for them in there, of course… maybe move around a few of the controls… and maybe-
:ZentoSA: Yes, thank you Vex, that’s enough. How about you compile everything you found out into a written report and I might look it over later. Over and out.
:VexSA: I’ve already written a report, sir. Over and out, father.

:ZentoSA: Anything else to report, Doxy?
:DoxySA: Ensign Zell found a faulty battery in one of the nutrient freezers, sir, but it’s been fixed.
:ZentoSA: That’s good to hear…
:DoxySA: Other than that… no, sir. Nothing of interest.
:ZentoSA: I see… then make sure everyone is strapped in for the deceleration, Commander.
:DoxySA: Right away, sir!

And as if someone switched a switch, you’re suddenly in a new system. Your screen is filled with alien ships orbiting the planets, as well as several large structures jetting out from them. A quick glance tells you that there are two large gas extractors built into the two gas giants in the systems, as well as a smaller colony with a space elevator and orbital hanger on the orange planet near the star. There’s also a whole army of heavily armed ships flying around… but with an exception of two automatic messages they don’t seem to really care about you… or even notice you.

One of the automatic messages warns you about going to close to the Cyan planet, as you will be fired upon if you do it. The other welcomes you to the “New New Old StoneShire” and that there are currently [3] parking spots for [Capital ships] in the orbital hanger, and we’re free to dock at our leisure.
Huh… you were expecting something a bit more… exciting, honestly…

Maybe do a scan on one of those heavily armed ships, just to tune our fight-or-flight meters around them.

Zento and Doxy should skim over the important things in there. Being compatible for hybrid children isn't a top priority, but would be interested to know about.

>What do?
Start scanning things to see what's interesting around here.

Zento should get ready to greet his female clone when she wakes up.

>>1018157
>She inflicted real harm on him
Maybe Zento is into that?

>and is terrible at aftercare.
It's her choice to make because she's a grown adult that's allowed to make her own decisions to do something different. Not everyone will want to snuggle after sex and we shouldn't try to pressure them into doing that.

>I don't think Zento should fuck Shara again. She inflicted real harm on him and is terrible at aftercare.
You were exaggerating when you said she broke your pelvis, it was but a hyperbole. While she was rough and left you very sore and tired, she did make sure to not actually hurt you for real. Her aftercare was freaking atrocious, though, that much is true.
>Maybe Zento is into that?
While you prefer gentler love making, being fucked raw like that does have its charm at times.
>Fuck but not snuggle? HERESY!
…you know, maybe you should take charge next time and force her to snuggle? She did mention that you should grow a backbone, after all… she probably would like being dominated… hmm…

>Zento and Doxy should skim over the important things in the research report. Being compatible for hybrid children isn't a top priority, but would be interested to know about.
You’ll read over it when you get the time. Right now your attention is rather occupied.
>Zento should get ready to greet his female clone when she wakes up.
Oh, right, she’ll wake up today as well… shoot, you really don’t have time for that. Hmm… maybe you should delay it to tomorrow and keep her cooking for another day?

>We should be careful, we are the new kids in the playground, i doubt that everyone will be nice to us just because we are the new species in this part of the galaxy. Be ready for anything.
:ZentoSA: …Ensign Tizli, divert power to shields and keep them at max. Doxy, make sure the Warp engine is ready for an emergency jump.
:DoxySA: Affirmative, sir.
:TizliSA: Diverting power to shields. Should I heat up the weapons?
:ZentoSA: No, keep the weapons offline for now. We don’t want send the wrong message. Ensign Tescia, set a course for that Orbital Hanger, but take it slow.
:TesciaSA: Setting course, taking it slow, making it happen, sir.

>Scan the nearby moons.
:IkekekiSA: Um, a quick scan shows that most moons have some kind of structures on them… including rather large Anti-Spacecraft cannons, Captain.
>That green planet looks boring and interesting at the same time from here.
:IkekekiSA: I think I see possible mineral deposits, Cap, but the whole planet is a hot spot for tectonic activity. I guess that’s why there are no structures on it? The earthquakes would ruin them?
>Maybe do a scan on one of those heavily armed ships, just to tune our fight-or-flight meters around them.
:DoxySA: We can spot three different ships, boss. Two of them are about the same size as our small cruisers, where the third is a lot large, about the size of an Sakkilian Avanger Class or just slightly bigger than that Pillager Class pirate ship we saw earlier, sir.
:ZentoSA: And their armaments?
:DoxySA: One type of the smaller ships are completely unarmed and is probably some kind of civilian freighter, sir. The other small ship type, marked as Bulwark class, has a large ballistic tower installed on it, as well a really powerful shield. Finally, the large ships, the Bastion Class, have a similar shield unit and several ballistic turrets installed, as well as a massive cannon that would shred The Shed Scale in half if they manage to penetrate our shields, boss.
:ZentoSA: Hmm… how can they have both such powerful weaponry and shields? Where do they get the energy?
:TozlanSA: They sacrifice most of their engine power, friend. Those ships are slow as a scumsucker on land and they need to slow down into a standstill to actually use their weapons and defenses to their full effect. Of course, they are designed this way, as the Flaûgnir generally fight by taking and holding key positions, Captain.
:ZentoSA: I see…

>Then go park. Time for shore leave.
:ZentoSA: Tes, take us in towards the Hanger.
:TesciaSA: …Sir, several of the alien ships have started following us.
:ZentoSA: …Tizli?
:TizliSA: Their weapons are being charged sir, as well as their shields…
:ZentoSA: Are they aiming said weapons at us?
:TizliSA: No, sir, not yet.
:ZentoSA: Then let’s keep going…
:IkekekiSA: There’s suddenly a lot of radio shatter in the system, Cap. I think they are talking about us.
:ZentoSA: …have we gotten any messages yet?
:DoxySA: No, sir, not- Wait, we’re getting a transmission from the Colony, sir.
:ZentoSA: Put it on the main screen, Doxy, let see what they have to say.
:DoxySA: Putting it on main screen, sir!

The screen turns on and shows you an image of a large stone… bird(?) talking to a smaller stone bird.

:VulSA: -u later. Mother needs to take this. It seems important.
:NonSA: But you promised that we would train my flying, Mommy!
:VulSA: And I’ll keep that promise, as soon as I’m done here. Now, go play for a bit, son.
:NonSA: Aww… fine…
:VulSA: Now, about this emergency. Who are you and why do you need to talk to me on my off-hours?
:ZentoSA: Greetings, This is Captain Zento of The Shed Scale, from the Sakkilian colonization initiative.
:VulSA: Huh? The who of the what now?

For the first time she actually looks at the screen and notice you.

:VulSA: … … …
:ZentoSA: Hi?
:VulSA: … … …My apologies, I do not recognize your species. Are you from the other side of the sector?
:ZentoSA: Something like that, yes.
:VulSA: …and you’re not some Wirnäy prank? I wouldn’t put it pass them to transform into something like yourself to trick us.
:ZentoSA: I assure you, we’re Sakkilians, ma’am.
:VulSA: ...I see why you were patched over to me then… why are you here?
:ZentoSA: We’re here to restock and trade, mostly.
:VulSA: We don’t have much for trade here, but I guess there is a few things we can sell…
>If you get lucky, you could find a bored rock bird willing to sign up for adventure.
:VulSA: You’re looking for crew? There should be a few contract workers looking for jobs at the Starport. I’ll see if I can forward that to you. Though be warned, the veins are rather barren at best of times, and now with the current situation it’s even worse.
>They might tell you what's going on around "Tarkus Alpha Cyan".
:VulSA: Cyan? You mean Tarkus Alpha 5?
:ZentoSA: Indeed, that is right.
:VulSA: …are you looking for a job then? Let me scan you and see what kind… of… that’s… that’s a large ship you got there…
:ZentoSA: Yes? It is a flagship, after all.
:VulSA: … … …
:ZentoSA: Hello?
:VulSA: … … …excuse me for a second.

The screen turns off again, though you can still hear her talking in the background.

:VulSA: Where did I put the helmet? Where are the pauldrons? Oh earth father, I’m making a fool of myself.
:NonSA: It’s on the hat shelf, mommy.
:VulSA: Yes, yes it is, thank you sweetie.

After about a minute the screen turns back on, though this time you’re met with a stone “bird” that’s a lot more “regal” and focused, compared to her earlier appearance.

:VulSA: Salutations, Captain, and Welcome to “New New Old StoneShire” mining colony. I am High Magistrate Vul Wrok of the Everlasting Monarchy. But you can call me Vul for short.
:ZentoSA: Greeting Vul. As I said before, this is Captain Zento of The Shed Scale, from the Sakkilian colonization initiative. You may call me Captain.
:VulSA: My apologies for earlier, Captain, you found me on a bad tower.
:ZentoSA: …don’t mention it, Vul.
:VulSA: In fact, you’ve found this whole colony on a rather rickety tower, though I’m sure we can still be of service.
:ZentoSA: Well, as I said earlier, we’re here to trade.
:VulSA: We do have some surplus Basic Metals and Fuel we’re willing to sell to you for cheap, but what we really need is Corrosives and Organic Materials to keep our operations running, and are willing to pay a premium for any units you may have.
:ZentoSA: I’ll keep that in mind… and we got a signal that you were requesting freelance ships?
:VulSA: We do have need for a ship like yourself, if you’re willing to do some work. First, we are in dire need of an escort to the nearby Tauzaka trade colony to the east. If you can escort a few of our freighters there we’ll be willing to not only pay you a few Mega Credits, but give you fuel for the trip as well.
:ZentoSA: (The Raolme trade colony, huh?)
:VulSA: We would also pay for complete mineral scans for the other systems in this area, including Tarkus Beta and Tarkus Gamma.
:ZentoSA: (We just came from Tarkus Beta, didn’t we?)
:VulSA: Finally, one of our lunar cannons has gone haywire. If you are able to disable it without destroying it we’ll pay you for a job well done. It’s located on the moon of Tarkus Alpha 5.
:ZentoSA: The cyan planet.
:VulSA: Indeed, the cyan planet. Now, I’ve also given you the green to dock with our Hanger and visit our colony on the ground at your leisure. Though, be warned, Tarkus Alpha 1 has been nicknamed “Dustball” for a reason and that isn’t changing anytime soon, seeing how our terraforming project is at a standstill. If you have any other questions I’m more than willing to help, Captain.

:DoxySA: Sir, she’s forwarded some additional information concerning trading here. Have a look. (Also, Mc stand for Mega Credits. We currently only have 50 of those.)

-Buying-
Organic Materials: 5 Mc per Unit.
Corrosives: 8 Mc per Unit.
-Special requests-
Looking for Crew with Mining specialization x4, will pay 20 Mc per crew member (+5 Mc if they are Flaûgnir).
Looking for small Mining ships x4, will pay 12 Mc for each.

-Selling-
Basic Metals: 1 Mc for 2 units.
Fuel: 1 Mc for 2 units.
-Contract Workers-
Uvo Tol [Security] (Female Flaûgnir): 10 Mc.
Car Zuk [Farmer] (Male Flaûgnir): 8 Mc.
Gherni [Storage] (Female Mrrgh): 8 Mc.
Kahn Uruk [Mercenary] (Male Flaûgnir): 62Mc (Includes a Bulwark Class ship).

Oh hey we can make a profit by buying BM and making mining ships. The landers count as mining ships right?
Buy 24 BM, sell our two landers, start making replacements.
Research tectonic shields, now that we have a target planet to mine from. Tomorrow we mine.

It also sounds like fuel is very cheap here. Let's buy some. 50 units for now.
A "Storage" specialization crewmember? What's that?

Do we have any crew with specializations? It kinda sounds like we do but it isn't official yet.

Hire the farmer so you have a hydroponics expert at all times. Use the rest of your credits for basic materials and fuel, you might need a quick getaway if the IOD make a surprise inspection.

Keep the landers for now but use them on the escort mission. Offer to give their buyers a full demonstration of their capabilities, then sell them at their destination once the escort succeeds. You can start fabricating new landers when you're in deep space.

I agree, an experienced farmer and his methods will surely improve efficiency.
Let’s hire the Mrrgh, too, and ask to buy some gold and frankincense as well so we can have some just in time for Scalemas. A box kicker will likely let us store more with our current facilities, with food storage being especially important as our crew expands.

First thing, compliment her work-from-home setup.

>what we really need is Corrosives and Organic Materials to keep our operations running, and are willing to pay a premium for any units you may have.
Word is there's a system nearby rich with organic stuff. If they heard as much as we have, they'd know we'll need tough people to collect.

>We would also pay for complete mineral scans for the other systems in this area, including Tarkus Beta and Tarkus Gamma.
>(We just came from Tarkus Beta, didn’t we?)
Start haggling for Beta (just passing by to do a scan), but warn them about the pirate activity there (the IOD would want us covered up as much as we do). Gamma is as mentioned above.

>we are in dire need of an escort to the nearby Tauzaka trade colony to the east.
>(The Raolme trade colony, huh?)
Oh, what do you know. We just picked up a few Ralome stragglers, responding to their distress beacon after they got raided by pirates. (No need to say more than that.)

>one of our lunar cannons has gone haywire. If you are able to disable it without destroying it we’ll pay you for a job well done. It’s located on the moon of Tarkus Alpha 5.
A stealth trench run to that moon sounds doable actually. We got a pilot for it, but we don't know how their tech works to do anything other than break it. A Flaûgnir Security expert might be useful for that.

>Kahn Uruk [Mercenary] (Male Flaûgnir): 62Mc (Includes a Bulwark Class ship).
Out of price range and utility, but there's got to be a story there.

Yeah, no, bad idea.
First and foremost, this is second-hand slavery. Even if you use the colony's eggs, you're single-handedly indoctrinating the children from birth, only to sell them to another faction permanently for money. Using the vats is barely acceptable because you're creating crew members to permanently staff an urgent position, and even then, it crosses a few lines.
And we don't know what will happen if the vats attempt to build a fake-memory narrative around a generally unknown alien species. They might go mad. We're going to need weeks of Ralome biodata before we even think about giving them access.

You’re right about the landers, but I’m more concerned on if they’ll be able to use them. We’d need to research a Flaûgnir in order to make our stuff user friendly for them and if we sell our landers before we do that, they might not be able to use them, since the controls would be designed for Sakkilians and not Flaûgnir.

It’d be bad for business if we gave them a product they can’t use.

That sounds really suspicious. Don’t say that.

If we're going to be making ships and selling them, we'll need to get that hangar upgrade to speed things up. I'm not sure if our potential clients would be willing to wait an entire day for a ship.

Maybe if Vul has blueprints for the specific ships that are needed, that'd also help speed things up.

When we dock, we should announce that everyone is free to get off the ship and stretch their legs. And if you hear reports of any of them stealing, you're going to cut their pay! (Looking at you, Eki. No stealing!)

Gotta agree Shara was a bit of a bitch, even if she wasn't wrong. Sure, you got a wild ride, she got the fun and seed she was after, and it's not like she's obligated to cuddle, but might be worth keeping an ear out for any misandry or misbehavior from her in the future: might not have been an entirely professional environment, but this is what she was willing to say to the Captain, and she's supposed to be in charge of Security.

Vul be kinda cute, in a milfy sort of way, and looks pretty sharp when dressed up. Business before pleasure though.

>I don't have anything to say about current events, but WOW Shara behaved quite cuntly.
While she was rather rude, you wouldn’t use that strong of a language to describe her. Though you shouldn’t really be surprised, she’s never shown herself to be a very gentle person.
So far she’s been showing you the respect you demand from her when she’s on duty, so her rudeness was because you weren’t her captain then, but just another Sakkilian. Then again, she did punch Zell earlier… hmm… maybe you should teach her some manners? Though not as her Captain… and after she’d laid her egg… she did say something about growing a backbone and taking what you want, so if you want snuggles…

>Yeah we should let the clone grow a little longer.
If you don’t find the time to wake them up, that is.
>Aren't there risks to doing that? Like if you leave her in there too long, she'll end up living her entire life and dying of old age before you let her out? Or mutate?
The Vats are designed to put whoever is in them in stasis when they are “done”, so no, she won’t age, she won’t mutate and for all intent and purpose, she will be just the same as if you woke her today even if you wake her up in a week or two.

>You need to get your eyes checked. They clearly look like dragons or wyverns.
Dragons? No… but wyverns? Maybe? They do have kind of a beak, though… and they remind you of a naked chicken, honestly. Of course, it was Tozlan who describe them as birds first, so you might just be influenced by that. Though, seeing that they are made out of stone, you would probably go with Gargoyle in the end.
>Vul be kinda cute, in a milfy sort of way, and looks pretty sharp when dressed up. Business before pleasure though.
Unless you make that business into pleasure? A “High Magistrate” would be good ally to have… and what better way to make alliances than getting to know each other better, hmm? Besides, a mother like her deserves to become even more of one, no?

>First thing, compliment her work-from-home setup.
:VulSA: Yes. I tried to make it regal enough for important communication like this one. My apologies that I wasn’t able to meet you in my chambers as customs would dictate.
:ZentoSA: No need for that, Vul, we came without any prior notice. We’re just honored that you’re taking this call personally, being High Magistrate and all… though we’re unsure what, exactly, that title implies.
:VulSA: It means that I, lady Vul Wrok, is the one appointed by royal degree to lead the colonies of the Everlasting Monarchy in the Tarkus star cluster to prosperity, even if it at the moment a singular colony. Which includes meeting and engaging in diplomatic talks with new species like yourself.
:NonSA: Mooom, I am hungy…
:VulSA: …as well as keeping this sweet little quartz in check. I apologize for my son, but my third mate is currently busy elsewhere, so I have no one else to keep an eye on him.
:ZentoSA: We don’t mind the diversions one bit, Vul. Though… if I may ask… third mate?
:VulSA: Yes. My third mate. My first mate is back on the throne world of the Everlasting Monarchy with my first daughter. My second mate is currently with his fifth mate and with my second daughter, their son and hers third daughter. They will not be back for another day or two at least.
:ZentoSA: So you have multiple partners? I see…
:VulSA: Yes. That is correct.
>Very impressive helmet.
:VulSA: … … … … … …is this a mate binding ritual for your kind?
:ZentoSA: Huh?
:VulSA: First you ask about my mates, then you compliment me, Captain.
:ZentoSA: Oh, no, I’m just saying that I like the helmet, that is all.
:VulSA: It is a golden clad face mask that symbolize my level of importance. It is a very nice helmet, I agree.
:ZentoSA: It is… (Though it sounds expensive. You’d like to think that kind of money would be better spent elsewhere than a decorative helmet.)

>You might need a quick getaway if the IOD make a surprise inspection.
…it might be prudent to ask about IOD actually.
:ZentoSA: How are your relations with IODs? You’re outside their sphere of influence, are you not?
:VulSA: While this star cluster is outside their reach, the Everlasting Monarchy was conquered by the IOD collective and subjugated to their will.
:ZentoSA: I believe I detect some resentment on your part?
:VulSA: There is a reason why I volunteered to govern this colony, Captain. It is far away from their poisonous beaks. The Flaûgnir fought valiantly against their oppression into the bitter end, and even if we were forced to surrender in the end, our fighting spirit will never falter.
:ZentoSA: You are rather open about this, Vul. Aren’t you concern that we might be in cahoots with the IOD?
:VulSA: The IOD has never been in this system before and I don’t think that will change anytime soon. So far they’ve only sent messages about new laws and that package a year ago. As long as we abide by their major laws then they’ll be uninvolved with this colony. Not to mention, they’ve withdrawn all their patrols of the nearby trade lanes already, which is why we are in this rickety tower in the first place.
:ZentoSA: How long ago did they withdraw?
:VulSA: Almost three months ago. Since then the nearby trade lane has been in the control of the pirates.
>We just picked up a few Ralome stragglers, responding to their distress beacon after they got raided by pirates.
:VulSA: It does not surprise me. The pirates grow bolder and bolder by the day. Were they part of the trade fleet from Clan Tauzaka?
:ZentoSA: While they were members of Trade Clan Tauzaka, they weren’t with the trade fleet at the moment, no.
:VulSA: This isn’t surprising either. The trade fleet hasn’t been in this star cluster ever since the IOD’s abandoned us.
:ZentoSA: And that’s the main reason why you’re in the, as you put it, rickety tower? Your normal trading partners can’t get here, so you need help escorting your ships to them instead? Or better yet, buy the organic material, corrosives, mining ships and even trained crew from somewhere else?
:VulSA: That is indeed why we are in such dire need of help at the moment Captain. I hope that you may help us in our time in need, as we would ever be so grateful.
:ZentoSA: We’ll try our best to make this a mutual beneficial meeting, Vul, trust us.

:TesciaSA: We’re entering the orbit of Tarkus Alpha 1 and are nearing the space elevator hanger. Strap yourself in boys, because we might be in for some chop.
:ZentoSA: Take us in slowly, Tescia, there is no rush.
:TesciaSA: Engaging in docking procedures. Please keep your arms and legs inside until this ride comes to a full and complete stop.
:TizliSA: All systems are green. We’ve successfully docked with the port.
:ReginaSA: Engines are getting additional power, Captain, disengaging fuel usage for now.
:DoxySA: We’re been connected to the orbital station power grid, sir.
:VulSA: Welcome to our colony, Captain. Hope you and your crew will enjoy the stay.
:ZentoSA: Thank you, Vul. Good work, crew.

[The Shed Scale will not consume any fuel or food while being docked, and the food storage will automatically be filled when departing.]

>When we dock, we should announce that everyone is free to get off the ship and stretch their legs.
:ZentoSA: Attention all crew members. Feel free to visit the colony and stretch your legs on your free time. Do keep in touch with your communicator in case we need to make a rapid department.
:TizliSA: Sweet, finally some shore leave!
:TesciaSA: ... … …I hope they have something fun to do down there…
>And if you hear reports of any of them stealing, you're going to cut their pay!
:IkekekiSA: Hey, why are you looking at me like that? I promise I’ll be good!

>Pay us for the time to do the research, along with some eggs/newborn, and we can get you those crewmembers. No questions asked.
…you’re definitely not going to put it like that. While using the Vats is a very efficient method to solve their employment problem, you’re going to need more tact than that to sell it. Hmm… maybe you can just tell her what the Vat is capable of and see if she’s interested in either breeding new miners or just cloning some? Preferable with you breeding her…
>First and foremost, this is second-hand slavery. Even if you use the colony's eggs, you're single-handedly indoctrinating the children from birth, only to sell them to another faction permanently for money.
She clearly wants people to employ, not slaves… and you have to force them against their will to be slavery, no? As for permanent… you better ask her exactly what the terms of employment are here.
:VulSA: We’re looking for both contract workers as well independent ones, and you’ll get your payment if you either sell their debt contract to us or bring us an independent worker that are willing to sign up for at least a year of service. They will have the same pay, benefits and perks as all our workers and as soon as either their tenure is up or their debts repaid, they are free to leave at their leisure… or stay and continue working. We’re simply in dire need of specialized personnel, that’s all.
>We don't know what will happen if the vats attempt to build a fake-memory narrative around a generally unknown alien species. They might go mad. We're going to need weeks of Ralome biodata before we even think about giving them access.
The Vats already work on every last species in your own galaxy, so it should just need the biological data of these new species to be able to do its job, something we already acquired from the Raolme for example by researching them. Of course, their memories and culture will be based on a Sakkilian upbringing, but that isn’t something that will drive a person mad, surely? They should work with these species just as well as it works with your own odd aliens back home.

:NonSA: You all look funny. Don’t you fall oven when you stand like that? I fall over when I do.
You managed to catch the quickest glimpse of Vul’s wings audibly retracting into her arms as you look back over towards the main screen. You guess she doesn’t like displaying them with her kid around?
:VulSA: Kot, sweet quartz, please go and play for a bit while mommy works, alright? I’ll make you something to absorb in a bit if you’re hungry.
:NonSA: Oke…
:VulSA: My apologies, Captain.
:ZentoSA: Vul, you don’t need to apologize for every little thing.

>Word is there's a system nearby rich with organic stuff. If they heard as much as we have, they'd know we'll need tough people to collect.
:VulSA: I’ve been notified that there is a planet located in Tarkus Gamma that does contain a lot of biological life. I’ve also been modified that this planet contains some rather dangerous fauna.
:ZentoSA: Which is why it would be prudent to send your toughest people to gather it, no?
:VulSA: Or I can simply buy it from a safe source. I rather spend extra credits and let someone else do the hard work. If fact, if you want to be on the safe side and still make a profit, I’m sure trade Clan Tauzaka will sell organic material for slightly less than I’m willing to pay.
:ZentoSA: I’ll keep that in consideration.
>Start haggling for Beta (just passing by to do a scan), but warn them about the pirate activity there.
:VulSA: We already know about the increased pirate activity in the area of the sector, but thank you for mentioning it. What we’re looking for is a complete mineral scan of all planets in this star cluster, so that we might properly consider the possibility of additional mining facilities and colonies.
:DoxySA: Sir, we already scanned every last planet is Tarkus Beta for minerals, so we should have the data Vul needs.
:ZentoSA: Well, High Magistrate Vul, what are you willing to pay us for the mineral scan?
:VulSA: We would prefer to get the scan data from both systems, but if you insist… we are willing to pay you 10 Mc for your current work as well as an additional 10 Mc for the scan data of Tarkus Gamma, but we will also add a bonus of 15 Mc and 30 unites of fuel on top of that if you sell us both.
:ZentoSA: Ah, so you’re not willing to pay the full prize for only half the information, huh?
:VulSA: See it as an incentive to complete the work, Captain.
>A stealth trench run to that moon sounds doable actually. We got a pilot for it, but we don't know how their tech works to do anything other than break it. A Flaûgnir Security expert might be useful for that.
:VulSA: We will provide you with both the tools and information you’ll need to disable it, including a jammer that will completely shut down all systems in the cannon when applied. The problem is that someone needs to get close enough to install it on the surface of the cannon without being blown to pieces by it.
:ZentoSA: Hmm… and the pay?
:VulSA: … … …our budget is rather thin at the moment, so sadly we can’t pay you credits for it, but we will make it worth your time, you have my word on that. See it as a surprise?

>Let’s hire the Mrrgh, too, and ask to buy some gold and frankincense as well so we can have some just in time for Scalemas.
As much as you want to celebrate, you sadly don’t have a bright star to follow right now… and aren’t each ship supposed to only bring one thing each? But you digress, hiring that… Mrrgh person might be interesting… mostly because you have no idea what a Mrrgh even is.
>A "Storage" specialization crewmember? What's that?
It is someone that has worked a lot in warehouses and storage facilities. A box kicker like that will likely make our storage methods more efficient and let us store more with our current facilities, with food storage being especially important as our crew expands. Might be prudent to hire them.
>Hire the farmer so you have a hydroponics expert at all times.
Having a dedicated farmer would ensure that we always have the necessary food, yes.
>Do we have any crew with specializations? It kinda sounds like we do but it isn't official yet.
Everyone has a specialty… mostly from earlier experiences. Zell is a miner, Regina an Engineer, Shara a soldier, Tescia a pilot, Vex a doctor, Doxy an administrator and you’re obviously a captain. You’re unsure about the aliens but… Eki is a pirate while Tozlan and Tizli are traders? Maybe?

>Oh hey we can make a profit by buying BM and making mining ships. The landers count as mining ships right?
:VulSA: Why, yes, the specs you send is exactly the ships we’re looking for. If you can construct them and sell them to use, we’d be grateful.
>You’re right about the landers, but I’m more concerned on if they’ll be able to use them. We’d need to research a Flaûgnir in order to make our stuff user friendly for them.
:VulSA: You need to “research” someone to ensure the that the ships are operable for us? If you wish, then I might send over someone for you to “research” for a day or two, though you’ll have to pay their salary for the day.
:DoxySA: Remember, crew salaries are being paid from our other account, so we don’t need to worry that it will eat into our spending money.
>If we're going to be making ships and selling them, we'll need to get that hangar upgrade to speed things up. I'm not sure if our potential clients would be willing to wait an entire day for a ship.
The Hanger upgrade will make it cheaper to construct new ships and faster to repair damage ones without spending resources. It will not make it quicker to build new ships, though. Of course, if you want to make a bigger profit, then you’ll wait until after you’ve constructed the hanger, right? Less material needed, less Mc spent to buy it, after all.
:ZentoSA: Vul, how much longer will these special requests last?
:VulSA: Until they’ve been fulfilled, of course. And seeing how you’re the first trade ship to arrive in the last three months, it doesn’t look like they will if you aren’t up to the task.

>Buy 24 BM, sell our two landers, start making replacements.
Hmm… do you buy now, or do you wait until the hanger upgrade is complete for a bigger profit? Either way, selling a few landers to her built with metals bought here is a great idea.
>It also sounds like fuel is very cheap here. Let's buy some. 50 units for now.
You’re definitely going refuel here, the question is just how much fuel you’re going to invest in. 50 does sound like a fine number, though…
>if we skimp on a few things we could buy that bulwark.
…hmm, though, buying that ship and the mercenary does also sound temping… even if they are rather expensive…
>Research tectonic shields, now that we have a target planet to mine from. Tomorrow we mine.
Sad to say, but it will take at least 3 days to research tectonic shields, not to mention additional 3 days if you’re going to research the Hanger. And you better ask if you’re allowed to mine first as well…
:VulSA: The green planet is very unstable, but the constant earthquakes will throw up noble metals to its surface from time to time, free for the taking. I’d ask you to be cautious though, as it is very dangerous to mine there. We’ve lost several brave Flaûgnir over the years that have flown there to try and get a quick payday. Of course, those that made it back did so with a lot of gold and silver in their cargo.

Hmm… alright, time to make some proper decisions.
Research: Do we focus on Hangers first or Tectonic shields?
Recruitment: Do we hire the Flaûgnir farmer and the Mrrgh storage worker for 16 Mc, or do you save it up for that cool mercenary and their ship for a whopping 62 Mc?
Mining ships: Do you start constructing them now, or do you wait until the hanger is done? You can always sell the two you have for 24 Mc right now.
Mining Crew: Do you bring up how you can make new crew to her? It would help a lot to get all those extra credits.
Resources: How much fuel are you willing to buy? They only cost half a Mc per unit after all. Same thing with Basic Metals.
Missions: What do you focus on first? Dealing with the lunar cannon? Scanning the Gamma system for minerals? Or escorting their ships to the Raolme trade clan?

:VulSA: Oh, and Captain, on final thing. We are your first contact with the Flaûgnir monarchy, are we not?
:ZentoSA: That is correct.
:VulSA: Then I wish to speak to you face to face someday soon, to discuss your species and the goal of this faction you’re part of. It’s my duty as Magistrate to act as a diplomat for the monarchy and discuss any possible trade agreements or alliances we might want to envision between our species. Of course, if you want to take some time to help us a bit first to polish our relationship a bit further, then I won’t mind.

Research: alien biology, to prep selling VATs to this system. Our new friend is clearly anti-IOD, and not particularly greedy, so we can trust her not to sell it to our enemy. However, she probably won't trust us enough to buy such services just yet... let's help in other ways first.

Construct: 1 lander, we can sell a lander once we've modified it for their use.

Recruit: the farmer and storage worker. Yes, the merc is tempting, but even if we save up for that purchase that's all we'll be able to buy! It's best to spread purchases around instead of making a single one, because generally you get more bang for your buck there.

Unless our pilot can think of a good plan for getting close to the cannon, that kinda sounds like a suicide mission. Maybe if we had better shields on our cruisers... Would it be possible to approach and land on the side of the planet that the cannon can't fire on, then just walk over? Or with some kind of land vehicle. Or... if its targeting system can't fire on low-altitude ships then our pilot could approach that way to save time.
The trade escort can wait until we're ready to leave I think.
Scanning the Gamma system sounds easy, we can do that immediately without prepping for it even. Could give us time to research stuff that would help our business prospects in this system too. Tectonic stabilizers and hanger.

So she wants to complete data of nearby sectors, along with extra hands and equipment. All signs point to a ramp up of production to expand the colony. Quite ambitious...

>Not to mention, they’ve withdrawn all their patrols of the nearby trade lanes already
Yikes, what could have caused that?

>Since then the nearby trade lane has been in the control of the pirates.
>The pirates grow bolder and bolder by the day.
A casus belli to form an independent militia, and shore up defenses, that has nothing to do with her being hostile to the IOD. Very cunning...

>we will make it worth your time, you have my word on that. See it as a surprise?
That cannon is definitely some sort of FU to the IOD somehow. I'd bet on it.

The catch is her Monarchy will be quick to cut ties with her if she crosses them, regardless of how actually involved they are. Unless she plans for her colony to be independent. Stunningly brave, if true...

>Of course, if you want to take some time to help us a bit first to polish our relationship a bit further, then I won’t mind.
She might be worth extending your stay over, to negotiate a protection deal. A good safe house for your escapades is nothing to sneeze at. But you'd need something to trade for that. Your best offer could well be your vats.

>Hmm… alright, time to make some proper decisions.
Research the Hangers first, and wait until that's done to build the Mining ships. Hang on to the ones you have for now(, maybe build out a brig with BM so cheap here.) Recruit the Farmer and Storage crew; don't be distracted by the shiny cool thing, maybe the Storage girl can find a way to store more stuff. Your first Mission should be the lunar cannon. They should be properly defended if the IOD comes back.

Having an ally such as herself might indeed be useful, especially since she's supposed to be your first contact with the species, plus it seems the Flaûgnir may be relatively lax about relationships and sex, in a different way. It's probably worth fostering that relationship wherever possible... such as going on a mission. Also, it may just be how she's built, but Vul has got back.
May want to set a date for that rendevous.

>“research”
Gotta ensure your species are compatable. I mean, how else are you going to ensure your ships and other things are both safe and comfortable for their use. What else would she expect from research?

>Of course, if you want to make a bigger profit, then you’ll wait until after you’ve constructed the hanger, right? Less material needed, less Mc spent to buy it, after all.
It’d also need to wait until after studying one of them. That way the new landers we build will be made for them to use.

Modifying already existing landers for them will be really quick and easy to do, right? After studying one of them, we can modify our current landers for them and sell them.

>You need to “research” someone to ensure the that the ships are operable for us? If you wish, then I might send over someone for you to “research” for a day or two, though you’ll have to pay their salary for the day.
It’s more like a glorified medical checkup, but that would help.

>What to do?
Let’s not do the lunar cannon, that one seems way too risky with our current ships..

And do not buy the mercenary and their ship! That would use up all of our money and leave us nothing to buy fuel!

And whatever else we decide to do, it can wait until after the crew has had a chance to look around and relax for a bit. It’d be a real dick move to let them out for a few seconds and then immediately tell them to do some work.

The only real limit is when we decide to stop using the Vats. After all, we only need it right now because we have no other way to get Sakkilian crew, and we’ll surely have enough crew long before we get that many generations in.
>Whatever else we decide to do, it can wait until after the crew has had a chance to look around and relax for a bit. It’d be a real dick move to let them out for a few seconds and then immediately tell them to do some work.

You’ll bring it up when you meet face to face later, when she trust you a bit more.
>it seems the Flaûgnir may be relatively lax about relationships and sex, in a different way.
You’re not so sure about sex, but they seem to be rather lax about relationships at least. They are clearly a polyamory species… or maybe it’s just this colony? Hmm…
>Also, it may just be how she's built, but Vul has got back.
It doesn’t help that these Flaûgnir are constantly bent over with an arced back. You’re sure you saw her walk with her knuckles earlier, so that’s probably why they are standing like that.

>So she wants to complete data of nearby sectors, along with extra hands and equipment. All signs point to a ramp up of production to expand the colony.
:VulSA: Indeed, we are planning on building additional mining facilities in other system of the Tarkus cluster, maybe even a new colony as well if we find a suitable planet to terraform.
:ZentoSA: Quite ambitious...
:VulSA: If you wish to put it like that. Though it is still not written in stone, as we need to know what kind of planets we’re dealing with first… and somehow find about 200 to a 1000 civilians to populate the new colony, seeing as immigration between here and the throne worlds aren’t really a thing at the moment thanks to the unguarded trade lanes.
>Yikes, what could have caused the IOD to withdraw their forces?
:VulSA: I cannot say. They just disappeared 3 months ago without a word. Either they simply didn’t think it was worth the resources to guard this area or their forces are busy elsewhere.
:ZentoSA: Busy? You mean fighting?
:VulSA: Possibly. It isn’t unheard of planets revolting under their rule… though for them to pull back all their forces either means it’s a really big revolt or worse, an even more dangerous threat. I really hope there isn’t something even worse than the IOD’s out there.
:ZentoSA: Hmm… that’s good to know.
:VulSA: Or they simple returned to their home system to upgrade their ships. That is slightly more plausible.
>A casus belli to form an independent militia, and shore up defenses, that has nothing to do with her being hostile to the IOD.
:VulSA: We need to defend ourselves from pirate incursions.
:ZentoSA: All this seem a bit much for just pirates.
:VulSA: Hold a big enough rock and no one will dare make you use it. Think of it as pre-emptive defense. Of course, if someone with an actual armada would attack us we wouldn’t stand a chance, but at least we’ll make them think twice about it.
:ZentoSA: A very cunning strategy, indeed.
>That cannon is definitely some sort of FU to the IOD somehow. I'd bet on it.
:ZentoSA: So these Lunar canons… what are they designed to do, exactly?
:VulSA: They are designed to put very big holes into very well armored Large Class ships.
:ZentoSA: …and the pirates just happened to have a lot of Large class ships? So far I’ve only seen them with small and medium classed ones.
:VulSA: Just in case, Captain. You never know when a lot of Large class ships might attack.
:ZentoSA: Of course. Just in case.
>The catch is her Monarchy will be quick to cut ties with her if she crosses them, regardless of how actually involved they are. Unless she plans for her colony to be independent. Stunningly brave, if true...
:VulSA: Hmm? Officially crossing the IOD would be suicide, Captain, as we wouldn’t last a month. And we’re not planning on leaving the Everlasting Monarchy or anything. We’re simply taking the opportunity to expand and survive on our own now that the IOD’s have left us here alone, that’s all.
:ZentoSA: And if they come back?
:VulSA: They have always had an aversion of entering systems with a lot of weapons in it aimed at them. I hope to keep it that way.
:ZentoSA: Heh, of course you are, Vul.

:ZentoSA: Now, I know you have important people to attend to, so I’ll leave you be for now.
:VulSA: It was nice conversing with you, Captain. I will await your return.
:ZentoSA: I’ll be seeing you, Vul… though, I might ask you a few questions about those mission you had later, just to make sure I got all the details.
:VulSA: Feel free to message me if you have any questions, Captain. I won’t mind.

>If we get them miners and sell the landers we could realistically get the things we want and get that mercenary.
There is indeed a lot of money to make here, but there’s no need to rush things just yet. Let keep it slow and think things through first.
>So we’d still need an entire day to build a ship? Would the next hanger upgrade speed that up?
It will at minimum always take a full day to construct any ships, so no, we can’t make it faster to build the landers. The upgrades do make it cheaper though… and when we find some blueprints for bigger ships, then they’ll be constructed faster as well. Not to mention, we can always just build several ships at once? As long as we got space in the hanger it wouldn’t be a problem, right?
>Modifying already existing landers for them will be really quick and easy to do, right? After studying one of them, we can modify our current landers for them and sell them.
We should be able to automate the process, so yes; it would be rather quick to do so.

>Recruit: the farmer and storage worker.
You’ll hire them both for 16 Mc in total and send Doxy to welcome them aboard.
:DoxySA: Welcome to The Shed Scale, Mr. Car Zuk and Miss. Gherni Luff.
:CarSA: J-just Car is fine, m-ma’am.
:GherniSA: Ohoho, why, aren’t you just the cutest little thing!
:DoxySA: I’m also your commander officer, Ensign.
:GherniSA: Oh! Of course, ma’am! (Feisty little one, Ohoho)
:CarSA: Um… I’ve n-never been on a ship this big before… I mostly got experience with hydroponics on a colony in harsh… um… climates? …ma’am?
:GherniSA: I for one has worked in factories far bigger than this ship, love.
:DoxySA: I’m sure you’ll do fine, Cars. It’s not that different. Now, feel free to get to work while you get to know the ship. We’ve got a lot of cleaning and maintenance spots open for the both of you.
:GherniSA: Why, I’ll see if I can clean up your storage bay a bit. Maybe see if I can move something around to make more room.
:CarSA: Um… I’ll… check on the hydroponics bay?
:DoxySA: Actually, you’re needed in Research. We need to make sure our ship is suited for your species, after all.
:CarSA: Oh… um… okay? I guess?

>Research: alien biology, to prep selling VATs to this system.
You asked Doxy to send Car the farmer to Research, so that Vex can scan him.
>Research the Hangers and wait until that's done to build the Mining ships.
Hangers will be the next thing we research after we’re done with the Flaûgnir data collection.
>Maybe build out a brig with BM so cheap here.
…you’ll ask Doxy to make sure the brig is being built.
:DoxySA: I’ll spend 10Mc to buy materials and see to it myself, sir.
>Construct: 1 lander, we can sell a lander once we've modified it for their use.
…and construct one lander, just in case.
:DoxySA: I’ll spend another 5Mc and send Tes to build it, boss.

Doxy’s communicator bleeps as she gets a new message.
:TozlanSA: Commander! Remember our little date tonight? Well, I got a better idea. Can you meet me down on the colony at dinner time, perhaps?
:DoxySA: Oh? This sound super interesting! What are you planning?
:TozlanSA: It’s a surprise, Dox. But trust me, friend, you’ll love it.

>Your first Mission should be the lunar cannon. They should be properly defended if the IOD comes back.
They already have several other lunar cannons that are operational, not to mention several Medium Class ships floating around. Besides, Vul said herself that they are there to look scary more than anything else, which it does even if it’s firing at anything that get close or not.
>Unless our pilot can think of a good plan for getting close to the cannon, that kinda sounds like a suicide mission. Maybe if we had better shields on our cruisers...
:TesciaSA: … … …it might be doable to dodge the shots, sir? They are ballistic and thus are rather slow… relatively, speaking, of course. Or have it shoot at something else to distract it?
>Would it be possible to approach and land on the side of the planet that the cannon can't fire on, then just walk over? Or with some kind of land vehicle. Or... if its targeting system can't fire on low-altitude ships then our pilot could approach that way to save time.
:VulSA: While there are walls and fences to ensure no one just walks up the cannon, they are far less dangerous than the cannon itself. As the cannon is designed to always face away from the planet, the planet itself might be the biggest obstacle for that plan. It’s hard to move around it without getting into firing range, captain.
:TesciaSA: I’ll look into further, sir, see if I can figure out what it’s specs are.
>The trade escort can wait until we're ready to leave I think.
Indeed, it would be prudent to save it until we’re going to that Raolme trade post. That way we’ll solve two problems with one trip.

>Scanning seems simple enough, and should ensure the ship is at least doing something while passing the time.
Not only is it simple, but rather risk free as well… as long as we don’t run into more pirates, that is.
:VulSA: You’re going to scan the Tarkus Gamma system? Good, I’ll be waiting for you to report back in a few days, Captain.

>It'd be a huge culture shock to any aliens that get a Sakkilian upbringing in the Vats. They might even be alienated by members of their own species if they meet aliens that aren't on the ship with us.
The aliens aren’t going to have one culture across their whole species. Just remember how many different cultures and way of lives you had back on your home world, and that’s only one planet. A species spanning several star systems will be vastly different from each other. Still, having a Sakkilian upbringing might be a bit odd… though we might just tell them they are adopted or something… that might work?
>Couldn't we find a way to allow any aliens grown in the Vats to receive memories from their respective cultures?
It’s should be possible, considering they work for all the species back in your old galaxy. If you had some way to know how their culture and childhoods usually were, then… hmm…
:ZentoSA: Vul, you don’t happen to have some kind of archive with a lot of information about your species by any chance? Like a library?
:VulSA: … … …we have a grand Archive on this colony, yes? I’ll forward you toward its public data collection if you wish?
:ZentoSA: I would be grateful. High Magistrate Vul. (You can probably use that to make a proper childhood for any Flaûgnir you may grow there.)

Speaking of Vats, you have time to see to that clone now…
[Tara the Leader has hatched!]
[Iris the Engineer has hatched!]
:ZentoSA: Greetings, Ensign Tara and Ensign Iris. Welcome to The Shed Scale. I expect you’ve been briefed on our situation before you woke up?
:IrisSA: Dad! Hi! I’m super excited to help you and mom!
:TaraSA: Heh, not only are you cloning yourself, but you can’t keep it in your pants either, eh?
:ZentoSA: I did ask you two a question, ensigns.
:IrisSA: Oh, right, sorry. Yeah, I was told what’s going on before I woke up, dad.
:TaraSA: …I’m just happy that the academy trained me to mentally handle waking up like this.
:ZentoSA: That’s good to hear, Tara. So how do you two feel? Are you alright?
:IrisSA: I’m just super dad! Full of energy and ready to work!
:TaraSA: Personally? I’m fine.
:ZentoSA: Then I guess I’ll let you get to know the ship for a bit.
:IrisSA: I’ll go see if I can find mom and help her with whatever she’s doing, dad.
:TaraSA: …I can already see several things that can be made better here, sir. I’ll get back to you on that.
:ZentoSA: …okay, you do that?

You’re starting to get a lot of crew on the ship, which means two things. First, you can remove yourself and Commander Doxy from the deployment list, so that you may focus on being Captain and Commander. Second, you’ll need to start promoting people to lieutenants to ensure things run smoothly. So, who will you promote? You’ll probably need at least 2 lieutenants so… hmm…
Your train of thought is broken as your communicator flares up.
:TizliSA: Captain! Can I sleep with you tonight?
:ZentoSA: …Tizli, why are you asking me this?
:TizliSA: It’s a Raolme thing, okay? We really hate sleeping all alone, lost in the eternal dark, and little bro is going to be busy tonight floating somewhere else, he said.
:ZentoSA: And you’re asking me because?
:TizliSA: Because I’ve already asked Regina and she was busy as well? You’re the one I trust the most here after her, Captain. I mean, I’m not going to sleep in the same bed as that Kelshin scumsucker… and Shara is kind of scary. So… please?

Uh, just approach from the opposite side? No need to orbit *before* circling around.
We could shove our most heavily shielded ship in its face to distract it from the lander, but it's *designed* to punch holes in big ships...

>lieutenants
Tara is a shoe-in, literally a born leader. Not sure who the second one would be... I think we need to consider our options.

>[Tara the Leader has hatched!]
Be careful with her. She might try to overthrow you if she thinks you’re doing a shit job as Captain.

>starting to get a lot of people on the ship
Then we should think about getting the crew quarters upgrade. Getting it ahead of time would be better than waiting until the last minute.

>lieutenants
No choosing your own children or your clone. That’d be seen as you favoring your own blood.

Honestly, I think Tozlan would be a good choice. He was a lieutenant on his ship, so he should be just as capable of a lieutenant on our ship. ……wait, did he ever say he’s officially joined our crew? If he hasn’t officially joined our crew yet, then never mind. We can’t give these ranks to “guests” on our ship!

>sleep with Tizli?
Yes. If this leads to having some fun in the bedroom, then you won’t complain!

>>1018767
>lieutenants
>Tara is a shoe-in, literally a born leader.
She’s actually not a good choice. Everyone knows that she’s the Captain’s clone, so it’d be seen as favoritism, especially since she just barely got out of the Vats today. She’ll need to prove herself first, just like everyone else. She can be a lieutenant after she’s proven to be a good choice.

Don't get too defensive when he sees your storage has all four material types split evenly. You didn't know how to keep them.
>[Tara the Leader has hatched!]
What does being a Leader mean? What skills does she have as one?
>…I can already see several things that can be made better here, sir. I’ll get back to you on that.
Could one of those things be a threesome with the Commander? (Com'on we're all thinking it. No?) Actually, now would be unprofessional, and disrespectful to everyone involved at the moment.

>You’ll probably need at least 2 lieutenants so… hmm…
Something you want to consider, beyond merit and experience, is need. No doubt a promotion could direct ship improvement such that a lieutenant's skills or talents could be applied better, or would matter more*. What would be worth specializing in, at this stage?
*Oh I can see Lieutenant Tara passing off her own directives as "orders from the Captain", strictly speaking.

>Captain! Can I sleep with you tonight?
Consider just sleeping with her. It's not that you don't want to try anything else. It's that you want to get past the fact that the only person she could sleep with until now is her brother. Definitely do not overthink the implications.

>Uh, just approach from the opposite side? No need to orbit *before* circling around.
According to Vul, the only place that’s for certain outside the sight of the cannon battery is the planet that it is orbiting, which is rather hard to go through, no?
>We could shove our most heavily shielded ship in its face to distract it from the lander, but it's *designed* to punch holes in big ships...
Which is why we don’t distract it with a ship, but with something that we won’t mind getting a few holes in. Like a decoy.

>Then we should think about getting the crew quarters upgrade. Getting it ahead of time would be better than waiting until the last minute.
A good idea, though we’ll need some Basic Metals, Noble Metals and Organic Material first. Hmm… we can buy the BM here… and Vul said the green planet had NM on it… which only leaves OM. Gamma system did have a planet full of the stuff if Tozlan is correct, though it was full of dangerous fauna.
>Let's hope issues won't crop up before we can send Gherni in for his checkup. Make sure there's someone to keep an eye on him.
It’s a her, but she should be safe for now. We’re just sitting in the port, so nothing dangerous should happen, right?
>Don't get too defensive when she sees your storage has all four material types split evenly. You didn't know how to keep them.
They aren’t split evenly, as one unit of one thing is vastly different from one unit of another. They also require different way to store them. After all, a few liters of acid strong enough to eat through our ship’s hull is not going to be stored in the same way as about 20 ton of timber.

>Consider just sleeping with her. It's not that you don't want to try anything else. It's that you want to get past the fact that the only person she could sleep with until now is her brother. Definitely do not overthink the implications.
What implication? Both she and Tozlan have mentioned that Raolme are rather social creatures, and likes to sleep in large piles of people. It’s… different, sure, but it’s not that odd.
>Hmm, I wonder if she'll try to seduce you?
Tizli is as blunt as a sport bat; her “seduction” will probably consist of asking you if you want to do it.
>If this leads to having some fun in the bedroom, then you won’t complain!
…of course, even if she’s blunt, you’ll probably not say no, right?
>Sure, why not. I am curious to see if she'll pull an excuse to "sleep" with you.
:TizliSA: Thanks, Captain, you’re just the briniest! I’ll be a real pearl in bed, don’t you worry!
:ZentoSA: As long as I get a full night of sleep, I won’t complain, Tizli.
:TizliSA: I promise you that you’ll sleep like a nestling while I’m nuzzling you!
:ZentoSA: If you say so…
:TizliSA: I’ll come over tonight, alright Zento?
:ZentoSA: I’ll be expecting you then, Tizli.

>Something you want to consider, beyond merit and experience, is need. No doubt a promotion could direct ship improvement such that a lieutenant's skills or talents could be applied better, or would matter more. What would be worth specializing in, at this stage?
It’s a bit early to specialize in anything, as you pretty much need everything at this moment. What you really need is someone that can keep the crew working to their full capacity, honestly.
>No choosing your own children or your clone. That’d be seen as you favoring your own blood.
Not choosing them at all would cripple us to much, seeing how much you’ve been spreading your seed already. In the end, you’ll need to choose whoever is best for the job, no matter their blood relation to you.

>What does being a Leader mean? What skills does Tara have as one?
The skills a leader should have, probably. Being able to direct people around, understand people, to take both quick and hard decisions as well as being calm under pressure, is your guess.
>Tara is a shoe-in, literally a born leader.
She might be…
>She’s actually not a good choice. Everyone knows that she’s the Captain’s clone, so it’d be seen as favoritism, especially since she just barely got out of the Vats today. She’ll need to prove herself first, just like everyone else. She can be a lieutenant after she’s proven to be a good choice.
…but as you say, you have no idea how she’ll actually act now that she’s outside the Vat. What we know is her background, where she apparently was a decent leader, at least according to the Vat system. After that, we’ll simply have to wait and see.
>Be careful with her. She might try to overthrow you if she thinks you’re doing a shit job as Captain.
Which is why you’re not going to do a shit job as a Captain, it’s as simple as that.
>Could one of those things be a threesome with the Commander? (Com'on we're all thinking it. No?)
Actually, you’re currently trying to figure out if it counts as incest or simple masturbation to knock up your clone…

>Shara is too much of a hot head and Zell is probably too lazy. That would leave Regina as the only candidate for promotion.
Hmm… Regina might be a good candidate as well… you’ll keep her in mind for now.
>Honestly, I think Tozlan would be a good choice. He was a lieutenant on his ship, so he should be just as capable of a lieutenant on our ship.
Hmm… he’s also very knowledgeable with the galaxy around us… and he seems to be getting along with most of the crew as well. He might be a good first choice, yes…
>Wait, did he ever say he’s officially joined our crew? If he hasn’t officially joined our crew yet, then never mind.
…he’s been helping us out for days and been taking out a salary, so… he’s practically crew already? Just not officially, you guess? You better fix that right now.

:TozlanSA: Ah, Captain, my friend! What can I help you with today?
:ZentoSA: Tozlan, I wanted to talk to you about your crew status.
:TozlanSA: Oh, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that, friend. I’m sure you already know, but I’ve decided to stay here with my sister for now… and I’ve already been helping out where I can as often as I can, so I was wondering…
:ZentoSA: Of course you may join our crew officially, Tozlan.
:TozlanSA: Great! Though… there are a couple provisos, a few quid pro quos… see, my contract states that I’m ranked as a lieutenant and that I should be hired as one if possible, friend.
:ZentoSA: I was actually already considering promoting you, Tozlan, seeing as you practically already are a crew member… welcome aboard, Lt. Tozlan.
:TozlanSA: Thank you sir, you have my word that I’ll make sure this pearl of a ship swim through the stars as if it was made of foam.

[Lt. Tozlan the diplomat has joined!]

>Oh I just realized we should probably ask our Raolme crew for advice on how to optimize our trading in this system.
:TozlanSA: Trading advice, friend? Why, it’s easy. Buy low, sell high... which is done by having friends in the right places, Captain. It’s simply a fact of knowing who’s selling what and who’s buying it.
:ZentoSA: And for the current system? You have any advice?
:TozlanSA: We’re not going to find any cheaper BM or Fuel anywhere else, so it would be prudent to fill our coffers with it for now. I also know for a fact that Trade Clan Tauzaka to the east will be selling both Corrosives and Organic Material for slightly less than these miners are willing to buy them for, so we can make a profit by simple buying there and selling here, friend. Though, unless we find someone willing to pay a premium for either fuel or Basic Metals, we have nothing to stock up on in this system for the return trip.
:ZentoSA: Hmm… thank you for your insight, Lieutenant.

>I’m kinda interested in what Zell has been up to being a miner and knowing minerals and all that and considering he was the only other guy for a while and no bonding really happened with him. That and his daughter.
Sadly, you simply won’t have the time to bond with everyone, especially now when you’re starting to get more crew on the ship. Of course, you can still just ask him what’s he’s been up to if you see him… speaking of witch, he’s right there.
:ZellSA: Huh? Oh, Captain, didn’t see yah there, son. Yah’re wondering what Ah’m up to?
:GherniSA: We are heading down to the planet for some shore leave, love.
:ZellSA: Indeed we are, and Ah was going to ask if Tozlan ‘ere wished to accompany us.
:TozlanSA: Sadly, I must decline, my friends, as I already have other plans with someone else.
:ZellSA: Ah! An evening with ‘er, then? Go for it, brother, Ah know yah’ll get ‘er.
:TozlanSA: Thank you for your confidence, brother.
:GherniSA: I have no idea what that was about, sir, but do you want to come with us, Captain? I wouldn’t mind having a handsome gentleman like yourself around, Ohoho!
:ZellSA: ‘ow about it Captain? Me, Gherni here, that new fellow Car, Shara as well as my lovely daughter was planning on going down and have some fun, lad. Do yah wish to join us?

Could a ball of BM and NM throw off their targeting systems be enough to throw off their targeting, or does it have to be as complex as a lander?

>The skills a leader should have, probably. Being able to direct people around, understand people, to take both quick and hard decisions as well as being calm under pressure, is your guess.
That does sound like someone you'd want in charge on a multiple-day off-ship mission, or a colony. Would it be a good idea to have her work under the local High Magistrate? For the experience?

>Actually, you’re currently trying to figure out if it counts as incest or simple masturbation to knock up your clone…
Suppose it depends on how much your clone starts to diverge from you. Considering he's a she now, that'd be pretty divergent in itself unless you've been harbouring a desire to experiment with certain biomods.

>I’m going down planet side with the two new gals, Tara and Iris… as well as Ikekeki. Do you want to come with us?
Here's a vote to clubbing with your girls. Or more likely, playing chaperone and mediator. Among other things, you do understand one of them's in power armor, right?

I'd say that fits more to Zell himself. Not producing anything from it doesn't mean not desiring it.

>Zell’s girl feels like someone you can finally truly dominate in the bedroom. Big ol' mating press will get her to loosen up and be a better pilot by cheering her up.
Tes has definitely been a good gal so she deserves being put in a nice mating press and get an egg pumped into her on a regular basis. To help her loosen up and de-stress a bit, of course. Her mother Shara also deserves a proper mating press, though it’s because she’s been a bad girl. Hmm… maybe you can do both mother and daughter at the same time? More efficient that way, heh… though it has to wait, for now…
>I'd say that fits more to Zell himself. Not producing anything from it doesn't mean not desiring it.
You only have your eyes on the ladies, so Zell isn’t your area of expertise. Maybe Doxy can help him cheer up a bit?

>Why does everyone want to be your pal? Have you looked yourself at the mirror?
Yes, you know. You didn’t mean it generally, but more questioned why everyone suddenly wanted to invite you somewhere in this exact moment in time. It’s one hell of a coincidence.
>This is good news, though! It means that you must be doing well in the social aspects of your job. The crew is happy and for some exceptions, everyone seems to get along just fine.
It’s quite surprising there haven’t been more fights yet… but you guess it’s just a matter of time…

>Go with Zell's group, to get to know the new hires a bit better.
:ZellSA: Yah’re welcome to join us, lad. The more the merrier.
:GherniSA: I’m sure it will be quite the exquisite evening, Ohoho!
:ZellSA: The other should be waiting for us at the exit, son. Let’s not keep them waiting, eh?
>Tell Tizli as much, and also it sounds like if you're not there, they can have a ladies' night out. A bit more fun, you think, since they can talk about stuff they might not want to talk about with you there.
:TizliSA: Aw, was hoping you wanted some fun… but I guess it’s just us gals then. See you tonight?
:ZentoSA: See you tonight Tizli.
>You do understand one of them's in power armor, right?
:TizliSA: Don’t worry, she’s leaving it on the ship. Not worth the hassle to bring it through the customs just for a few hours of brine.
>Let everyone know that you want them to drink responsibly if they have any alcohol. Your only rule is "Don't get drunk enough to board the wrong ship". Other than that, have fun everyone!
:TizliSA: We’ll drink responsibly, DAD. Hehe, but yeah, I know how to float in the foam, don’t you worry.
:GherniSA: No promises, love. Ohoho.
:ZellSA: Don’t worry, lad, I’ll keep an eye on her.
:GherniSA: Aw, you’re no fun.
>They may end up in an impromptu "recruitment drive", as well. Should we rule yay or nay on that, or leave up to chance/discretion?
As long as they don’t get forced into a shotgun wedding or anything it will be fine. They are adults and make their own decisions… and have to deal with the consequences themselves.

The group of people you decided to accompany makes their way through the colony customs, before taking the long elevator ride down to the planet. When exit the starport, it is like you walk into a wall of pure dryness, dust hanging heavily in the windless cold air, and before you a small colony presents itself as the only speck of color on the planets barren landscape. Most of the colony is made out of gray, blocky buildings clearly built for utility than pleasant design, with the skyline dotted with tall spires that has large platforms on the top of them. It is clear that these aliens cherish those towers, as nearly every last one of them has a Flaûgnir occupying it, as well as having several others flying through the air close to them. Vul was right when she called this place “The Dustball”.

>Could a ball of BM and NM be enough to throw off their targeting, or does it have to be as complex as a lander?
You’re unsure how the cannons targeting system works, but it might just shoot at any object big enough to be a threat to it… including things like asteroids or just be rocks from a planet. Hmm… if we would pelt it with enough rocks Tes might be able to sneak by with a cruiser and disable it. It’s risky, but might be doable.
>That does sound like someone you'd want in charge on a multiple-day off-ship mission, or a colony. Would it be a good idea to have Tara work under the local High Magistrate? For the experience?
While it might be an idea to leave some kind of diplomatic liaison on planets who’s alliance you seek, like with Vul’s colony, but Tara? On paper, sure, she sounds fine… but you haven’t actually seen her in action yet, have you?
>Suppose it depends on how much your clone starts to diverge from you. Considering he's a she now, that'd be pretty divergent in itself unless you've been harboring a desire to experiment with certain biomods.
Well… you can’t deny that you’ve considered testing it out once or twice, just for fun… but indeed, she’s is different from you. She won’t have the same memories and thus the same personality as you either, which brings up the question… what exactly is she to you? …and can you bang her?

You, Zell the grumpy miner, the pregnant Shara, Car the stone gargoyle and Gherni the mushroom lady walk into the bar right outside the starport, the one clearly designed for alien visitors in mind, and only Gherni says ow.
:GherniSA: Ow! Why do they have to make the doors so short?
:CarSA: Because you’re twice as t-tall than any of us Flaûgnir?
:GherniSA: Hmpf…
Only Tes, Zell’s daughter, doesn’t take a seat at the table you find, as she’s more interested in something she spotted outside.
:ZellSA: *Huff* Nothing beats a nice drink after a ‘ard day of work, eh lad and lasses?
:GherniSA: Nothing beats a classy drink on any day at any time, Ohoho!
:TesciaSA: …Ah think Ah’ll skip the drinks if you won’t mind. They are racing some kind of hovercraft over the empty plains out there, and Ah thought Ah might see if Ah can get in on that action as well.
:GherniSA: Aw, we haven’t even started and you already uproot yourself?
:ZellSA: Just be careful out there, Tes.
:TesciaSA: Ah will, father. Ah won’t crash or anything.
:GherniSA: Double aw, the crashes are the best part… but let’s focus on what is important, gentlemen and ladies, what is your poison?
:SharaSA: No alcohol for me, as I’ve got a little boy in my cargo bay. I’ll grab one of those sodas that the orbital hanger got ads of plastered all over it.
Ever since you left the ship with Shara, you’ve notice that several of the Flaûgnir have been staring at her belly, both subtly and unsubtly. Mostly what you think is female Flaûgnir, but it’s hard to tell. You wonder why… is there a taboo about having a belly like that in the open maybe?
:CarSA: So you a-are with child. It d-didn’t want to m-mention it just i-in case… y-you know…
:SharaSA: You though I might just be fucking fat?
:CarSA: Err… well… that’s… y-you’re an alien, so I didn’t know… err… so who’s the father anyway? Someone on the ship? Y-you’re pretty far into your… um… pregnancy, right, so they might n-not even be someone that’s around these systems, no?
:SharaSA: Heh, it’s the Captains and I banged him just yesterday.
:CarSA: Yesterday!? Y-you grow that fast!? You two are mates or…?
:ZentoSA: We have the technology to make it quicker… and no, we’re not mates. (You can see Shara thinking “No, he’s my boytoy”, but choosing not to say it.)
:CarSA: Oh, so it’s a strategic child? Like to seal an alliance or partnership?
:SharaSA: Heh, he wish he was in an alliance with me.
:GherniSA: Now, let’s move on from Car here making a fool of himself and have some fun, shall we?
:ZellSA: I for one just want to relax…
:SharaSA: I on the other hand want to know what’s up with you guys. Never met a talking mushroom before.
:GherniSA: While I would desire a splendid evening where me and Car here would get to know our new employers a bit better. I have no idea what kind of alien you are either, so… maybe we can play a drinking game like “I’ve never” or something similar?
:CarSA: What that?
:GherniSA: It’s easy, I say “I’ve never X” and you drink if you’ve have done X.
:CarSA: I can’t drink?
:GherniSA: Ugh, fine, if you want to be fungible, then we can just talk and gossip like proper people.
:CarSA: No, seriously, I can’t drink. I don’t have mouth. I absorb things through cracks in my exterior.
:ZellSA: And Ah’m pretty sure yah only learn dirty secrets with that game, and not what kind of person or alien the others are.
:GherniSA: I give up, we don’t play that game. Fine… *grumble*…

Don't put a baby in your clone no matter what. Having sex with her is another matter... I'm not sure how your crew would react to it.

>only absorb things through cracks
If they can absorb things why can't he drink? Sounds like he's making an excuse. Also uh, how do they eat? I'm really confused as to how a creature could evolve with no mouth and still be as big as they are. You need a considerable amount of calories, and there are few high calorie liquids in existence that occur in nature. Not to mention they need a lot of proteins and minerals.

Anyway, uh, in the future you might want to make sure your crew doesn't talk about accelerated pregnancy tech where others can overhear it.
Ask why the other Flaugnir are staring so much.
Talk about where you were from, and what happened that you got stuck here.

>Well… you can’t deny that you’ve considered testing it out once or twice, just for fun…
Top and bottom? You don't have to do both if you still want to be manly, you know.
>what exactly is she to you? …and can you bang her?
After some thought, I've changed my mind: While you've been relying on more traditional means, cloning yourself is still a kind of biological reproduction. So that means she's your daughter, therefore you shouldn't bang her even if everyone wants the hermaphrodite. If you want to live out those fantasies, the right thing is to live them out yourself, not through her.

>Oh, so it’s a strategic child? Like to seal an alliance or partnership?
You might want him to elaborate on that, being in talks with the High Magistrate. This kind of relationship might be more common than anything you'd consider romantic. But to answer his question: yes, as a bonding exercise with your crew, this is technically true.

>I give up, we don’t play that game. Fine… *grumble*…

I'm not sure her father would approve. You saw how overprotective he was when you tried to send her to get corrosives from that other planet.

>>1019108
>several of the Flaûgnir have been staring at Shara's belly
Maybe they're having trouble with having children? I could see sharing the quick baby technology with them to help out. However, I worry that this colony won't be able to handle a sudden population boom like that.

It might be best to talk about this in private with Vul. Mostly because these people might want to raise their children the old fashioned way instead of instantly having their child be a fully grown adult.

>Drinking game?
It might be best to not play that game. It's too easy to get drunk like that.

>Top and bottom? You don't have to do both if you still want to be manly, you know.
You don’t need a dick to be manly, or a pair of tits to be feminine. In fact, in many ways you’re already rather feminine by Sakkilian standards. Of course, it’s a moot point, as you’re already happy as you are. Those thoughts were just a quick fancy, nothing more.
>I'm not sure her father would approve. You saw how overprotective he was when you tried to send her to get corrosives from that other planet.
That was a life and death situation, this is not. Not to mention, it’s her choice, not his. She can still just turn you down after all. Though then again, not trampling all over her father just for some fun might be prudent… hmm…

>While you've been relying on more traditional means, cloning yourself is still a kind of biological reproduction. So that means she's your daughter, therefore you shouldn't bang her.
Eh… you wouldn’t say she’s your daughter exactly, but still, you’re kind of related? You guess? It’s kind of odd…
>I think it would be fine to screw your clone if she was up for first. It really only matters if someone is okay with it and then you can screw them.
While consent is one of the most important factors, there are others as well… like if you’re related or not.
>Don't put a baby in your clone no matter what.
…you know what; maybe it’s for the best. As much as you like the idea of some “clonecest”, it’s clearly not worth the bother. It hasn’t been hard for you to find other ladies who are willing to share a pleasant evening with you so far, after all. (Not to mention, you’re here for the aliens, remember?)

>Anyway, uh, in the future you might want to make sure your crew doesn't talk about accelerated pregnancy tech where others can overhear it.
If things keep going like they’ve been going, it’s going to be hard to hide it for long, what with the physical evidence you show off. But yes, let’s not talk about to openly from now on…

>It might be best to not play that game. It's too easy to get drunk like that.
:GherniSA: Aw, doesn’t any of you want to have some fun?
:ZellSA: Ah rather drink responsibly.
:CarSA: Y-yeah… responsibly sounds f-fun…?
:GherniSA: *Pout* Of course I go out with the plebeians…
:SharaSA: Hey, it’s not like I can drink in the first place, Gherni.
:GherniSA: Oh, of course a classy lady like yourself is exempt, Shara, Ohoho.
>If they can absorb things why can't he drink? Sounds like he's making an excuse.
:CarSA: Um… well, we can drink, we just… it’s hard to show we’re drinking?
:SharaSA: Or you’re just a coward that was trying to get out of playing?
:CarSA: No, no, it’s not… not like that. Um… it’s just… we absorb liquids through the cracks of our exterior? It’s kind of hard to… show it off so… I can’t really show myself drinking like you do?
>Also uh, how do they eat? I'm really confused as to how a creature could evolve with no mouth and still be as big as they are. You need a considerable amount of calories, and there are few high calorie liquids in existence that occur in nature. Not to mention they need a lot of proteins and minerals.
:CarSA: …y-you see… we can kind of… survive on photosynthesis? In the old days, we used to find somewhere really t-tall to rest so that it would be easy for us to absorb the sunlight and… um… any water that might be in the air. So… we sat around for like… 22 hours a day… before going out do things for the last 11 when the sun finally set…
:SharaSA: Oh, come on. I was hoping for something more hardcore than just “being a plant”.
:CarSA: Um… we’re rocks, not plants.
:SharaSA: You know what I fucking meant.
:CarSA: Well… sometimes, a small animal or bird might come by and sit on us, mistaking us for a boulder…
:ZellSA: Aw, ‘ow adorable, lad.
:CarSA: So we quickly grabbed them and smashed them between our hands or feet, slowly but steadily grinding their bodies into a fine paste so we might absorb the delicious proteins they contained.
:ZellSA: Ew?
:SharaSA: Heh, now we’re fucking talking.
:CarSA: But… err… we can do similar things with some plants too so… things changed when we learned farming and… here we are, several thousand years later?
:ZentoSA: I have to ask you to refrain from slowly crushing small birds into paste in the mess hall, Ensign Car.
:CarSA: Oh, of course not. That Vex fellow already said that the food synth would cook the food for me… err… not that I’ve ever a-actually e-eaten a bird raw myself... I mean… we’ve invented cooking?
:GherniSA: Cooking is for plebeians. Do you want to know how someone with some real class eats?
:CarSA: Oh no… I… I know what you Mrrgh like. It’s not pleasant…
:SharaSA: Oh, now we must hear about it!
:GherniSA: My personal favorite dish is the Snork beast, a rather large if slow animal that’s very docile.
:ZellSA: So yah put it on the grill or the oven or…?
:GherniSA: Oh, of course not. You kill it, leave it’s corpse somewhere very damp and dark for a long while, long enough for the flesh to start to rot and the maggots to really dig in. Then, when the whole place reeks of death, you open up its ribcages and let your roots dig deep into the putrid carcass and then you take a long, nice sleep in it as you absorb all those sweet juices.
:SharaSA: Feasting on the decaying bodies of your enemies? Now that’s fucking hardcore!
:ZellSA: …Ah guess it’s a good thing we didn’t order any snacks… are the maggots even necessary?
:GherniSA: They give both extra flavor and proteins!
:ZentoSA: …I have to ask you to refrain from dragging any rotten carcasses into the ship, Ensign Gherni.
:GherniSA: Don’t worry, I know our eating habits are not the most pleasant to most aliens, so I’ll be keeping my feasting to my room.

>What brought you here anyway?
:GherniSA: Here as in… this part of the sector? This planet? Your ship?
:ZentoSA: All three, if you want to tell us.
:GherniSA: I guess I can give a pair of gentlemen like yourself the quick version, Ohoho. I was just a sproutling on a small colony world after the war, being bored out of my cap, so I decided that I would travel through the stars and set root on as many different and strange planets that I should find. So I’ve traveled across most of the sector before I came here and found you.
:ZellSA: So yah want to join us to continue yah travels?
:GherniSA: I want to join you because you’re strange and interesting. I’ve never seen anything like you before. Though to be honest, I would probably have joined any ship that came by, because this place is even worse than my old home, Ohoho!
:ZentoSA: I’m sure you’ll find plenty to explore with us, Gherni. And you, Car, why did you join us?
:CarSA: Oh… um… well… I’ve always like plants and… um… it was good money in taking care of greenhouses on newly established colonies so… I just kind of jumped from colony to colony and got here?
:SharaSA: Last time I checked we weren’t a colony. Why sign up with us?
:CarSA: Err… you were the one who bought my contract? I mean… I wasn’t going to stay here for long anyway, rather find a place with more plant life, but… yeah… I’m saving up to build a nice little greenhouse somewhere, that’s about it…
:ZentoSA: So and explorer and a gardener, huh?
:GherniSA: And what about you guys, huh? So far we’ve only gossiped about us? How about you two gentlemen and lady, what are you about? Starting with you Captain and the fine lady over there.

>To answer his question: yes, as a bonding exercise with your crew, this is technically true.
:SharaSA: We fucking bonded, alright. But nah, it was more for fun than any other reason.
:CarSA: ...was even the kid for fun?
:SharaSA: Kind of?
:ZentoSA: I wouldn’t say he was for fun, no.
:GherniSA: So who was on top?
:ZentoSA: She was… this time, at least.
:SharaSA: HA! Like you would ever be able to get on top of me!
:ZentoSA: Oh, I got some ideas about that, you’ll see…
:CarSA: …are your mating rituals usually like this?
:ZellSA: When it comes to Shara, yes. When it comes to our species as a whole, no, not at all, lad.
>You might want him to elaborate on that, being in talks with the High Magistrate. This kind of relationship might be more common than anything you'd consider romantic.
:CarSA: Eh? Oh, that… um… well… it’s just a good way to ensure people keep their part of the deal and… keeps alliances strong? After all, neither side wants to abandon or hurt their child, right? It’s kind of normal when you look at the nobles and royalty.
:GherniSA: Now, enough about kids. Who are you guys anyway? Where are you from? I bet you’re from outside the sector!

>Talk about where you were from, and what happened that you got stuck here.
:ZentoSA: -but something went wrong on the hyperjump here, so we crashed with The Shed Scale in the Beta system nearby while the rest of the colony fleet… well, we’re still looking for them.
:GherniSA: You got to be pulling my roots? You’re actually from another galaxy?
:CarSA: …that doesn’t seem very likely… are you sure you’re not from outside the sector?
:ZellSA: We’ve traveled a long way, lad and lass, yah ‘ave to trust on us on that.
:CarSA: Um… I guess? Finding that colony fleet does sound like a… um… good cause?
:GherniSA: I rather see what your galaxy is like, to be honest. It sounds quite fascinating, Ohoho!

>Ask why the other Flaugnir are staring so much.
:CarSA: They are? Um… I guess because you’re strange?
:ZentoSA: No, I meant at Shara… and her belly.
:CarSA: Eh? Oh… I… I guess? Um… I guess it’s because of… you see, it’s a bit hard for us to…
:GherniSA: There haven’t been any new Flaûgnir born here for nearly a full year.
:ZentoSA: Oh? Why not?
:CarSA: Well… um… the Magistrates says it’s because of the planet and how it isn’t Terraformed correctly yet, but I’ve been in worse places and… um… never heard about the problem before so… it’s a bit odd?
:ZentoSA: Hmm... really?
:CarSA: And… um… I mean, we aren’t really enforcing it but… the IOD’s did outlaw sexual intercourse about a year ago too… so… there’s that?
:ZentoSA: …so they outlawed it a year ago… and you’ve had trouble making children since then?
:CarSA: Err… I mean… when you put it like that… um… y-you think there’s a connection?
:ZentoSA: …I can’t help but feel that there is.
>I could see sharing the quick baby technology with them to help out. However, I worry that this colony won't be able to handle a sudden population boom like that. And these people might want to raise their children the old fashioned way instead of instantly having their child be a fully grown adult.
The “Quick baby technology” that you refer to is actually several technologies, which means you don’t have to use all of them. You’re sure giving them your increased fertility drugs would be enough, which means you can keep your quick growth formula and Vat systems secret for now.
>It might be best to talk about this in private with Vul.
Indeed. This is something you definitely should talk to Vul about. She’s the one who makes the decisions in this colony.

:GherniSA: Alright, enough boring talk, let’s celebrate! A standing ovation for the Captain and his quest for his lost colony!
:CarSA: Err… I still can’t drink?
:GherniSA: Just shove your hand into that weird moss you ordered and start absorbing shit, Car. As for the rest of you…
:ZellSA: Cheers, lass!
:SharaSA: Yeah, let’s fuck someone up!
:ZentoSA: Cheers.
:CarSA: Um… skål? I guess?

[Meanwhile, on the outskirt of the colony]

:TozlanSA: You can open your eyes now.
:DoxySA: Huh, where are we exactly? What- …oh… that’s… that’s a beautiful sunset…
:TozlanSA: A sunrise, actually. We are on a different clock compared to the planet, friend.
:DoxySA: Wow… the view is amazing… how did you find this place? Did you spot it from the space elevator? Because it’s super beautiful…
:TozlanSA: I actually asked someone at the colony and… um… I can only take your word for it that it is beautiful, what with me being blind and all.
:DoxySA: Oh, right… still, you have to… um… feel it, right?
:TozlanSA: I can feel the sun, yes, but it’s too far away to really hear… it’s kind just a black void in that direction… an eternal dark.
:DoxySA: Well, I’m sure this place is beautiful for you as well, Tozlan, just in a different way…
:TozlanSA: … … …it’s too quiet. There’s no wind… no water… no animals or plants… it’s just… silence… kind of creepy, actually. Err… I mean... forget about that, I’m just dragging the mood down, aren’t I?
:DoxySA: *Giggle* No, you aren’t. Don’t fret about it, Tozlan.
:TozlanSA: Well… um… so, I got a picnic basked here with some food and drink and… err…
:DoxySA: …and what?

ah, it appears the Flaûgnir speak the horrible, guttural North Germanic vernacular of, and may Allah forgive me for uttering this word, Sw*dish.
on that note, after some light drinking, Zento should excuse himself and meet with Vul to discuss the potential usage of the accelerated gestation tech by the colony. It would certainly be very valuable, though we should give her a lot of trade leniency as we want a good early impression with her colony and species. We should also ensure they use it ethically and cover our tracks if the IOD finds out and starts asking questions, as a comfortably positioned empire like that would surely crack down on any new technology that could potentially rock the boat. Now, Zento, though you have a translator, keep in mind litotes when speaking to Flaûgnir: if something is good, you say “that wasn’t bad”, but if something is bad you say “that wasn’t very good.”

In Doxy’s case I wouldn’t start eating before having a closer look at those approaching vehicles. Guys who travel as a group in motorbike-like vehicles in desert environments are never up to any good.

When you find the colony and get true ensigns you really dont see often or big enough crew to have factions that will really get this party rolling, and I wonder what type of governance the colony will have or maybe even multiple colonys that are different. Though the iod's main race has to be very strange to outlaw sex they either have an enforcer race or are very dictator like.

>Tell him that he’s doing fine.
:TozlanSA: I am? You sure, friend?
:DoxySA: Maybe be a bit more confident, hmm?
:TozlanSA: I mean… Of course I’m doing fine, friend!
:DoxySA: *Giggle* That’s a bit better.
>I wouldn’t start eating before having a closer look at those approaching vehicles. Guys who travel as a group in motorbike-like vehicles in desert environments are never up to any good.
:TozlanSA: Huh? What vehicles? Are there vehicles around?
:DoxySA: There are five of them on the other side of the canyon… though they seem to be going past us.
:TozlanSA: Oh… … …now that you mention it, I think I can hear some kind of motor in that direction… but no wheels?
:DoxySA: They are hovering.
:TozlanSA: Ah, that explains it. No, my friend, I have no chance of hearing them this far away. As I said before, it’s like just an eternal darkness in that direction.
>That’s just Tes and a few of the locals on some hovercraft. Hovercraft racing.
:DoxySA: Huh… one of them are clearly not a… um… stone person.
:TozlanSA: Flaûgnir?
:DoxySA: Yes, that. And that look like one of our red uniforms? Is that a Sakkilian in second place?
:TozlanSA: Don’t ask me. Can’t hear them, remember?
:DoxySA: Oh, right, sorry.
:TozlanSA: Don’t mention it, Doxy.
:DoxySA: Wow, they just did a sweet jump…
:TozlanSA: …now I kind of wish I should hear that…

>Pull out the food and see what he’s got. Surely he’s got some of your favorites, since he was asking about them earlier.
:TozlanSA: Oh, the food! Yes… let’s see… being the scumsucker that I am, I didn’t think about asking you for actually food preference and instead settling on just snacks so… I was a bit in the eternal dark, but I think I managed to improvise a bit?
:DoxySA: So, what did you find?
:TozlanSA: First off, a simple main dish. Just some prime cuts of a rather sweet tasting insect, nectar-based butter and some nice bread.
:DoxySA: *Giggle* You mean sandwiches?
:TozlanSA: Well… yes… but…. Um… very nice sandwiches? With nice meat on them?
:DoxySA: Sounds super tasty, Tozlan. What else do you got in that basket?
:TozlanSA: I managed to buy a flask of Raolme Ambrosia here on the colony. Not the most expensive brand, mind you, but a tasty one.
:DoxySA: Ooo! Now that sounds interesting! I have to try a glass of that!
:TozlanSA: And to finish off the night, I got some local veggies and two kind of dips, one Raolme one based on river herbs and one Sakkilian one based on… um… it’s some kind of cacti, I think? Either way, a real pearl at the end, no?
:DoxySA: This is just getting better and better.
:TozlanSA: Then I was going to surprise you with some of that eye screaming you said you like but… um… it kind of turned into a weird soup? Zell said it melted and wasn’t worth saving so… err… I guess I sludged that one up?
:DoxySA: It melted? Yeah, you need to keep it cold, Tozlan.
:TozlanSA: So I made some of the “chocolate” you guys had instead.
:DoxySA: Why, I don’t mind chocolate either.
:TozlanSA: It… um… now that I look, seem to have also melted?
:DoxySA: …wait, really?
:TozlanSA: Yeah, it’s just… a soup now? A brown soup that… *sniff*… it still smells really good?
:DoxySA: Well… chocolate does melt in heat…
:TozlanSA: So… do we drink it or…?
:DoxySA: Let’s start with the sandwiches and go from there, cutie?
>I actually find your way of "seeing" the world fascinating, Tozlan.
:TozlanSA: And I find your way of “hearing” the world quite extraordinary, Doxy.
:DoxySA: Though it saddens me that you can see something as beautiful as this sun set… I mean rise, sun rise.
:TozlanSA: Don’t fret, friend, because there is so much beauty that I can hear instead. Just not… here. We’re both deaf in each other’s kingdoms, no?
:DoxySA: That is one way to see it…
:TozlanSA: So you’ll just have to be my eyes and I’ll be your ears?
:DoxySA: *giggle* That sounds lovely.
:TozlanSA: Heh… maybe we can find a place to settle down together, where the sunset is beautiful both for the ears and eyes?
:DoxySA: Hmm… that does sound nice… though… Tozlan, I don’t want to lead you on but… I’m not looking for a long term relationship right now… at least, not one just bound to one person.
:TozlanSA: … … …oh.
:DoxySA: I’m super sorry, I didn’t-
:TozlanSA: No, no, don’t fret, friend, I… feel something similar?
:DoxySA: Oh?
:TozlanSA: I… um… hmm… how should I put this? Do you want to hear it diplomatically? Or just bluntly? Maybe I can… say it in an intimate way? Or a sexy way? No, no, that’s a scum filled idea. That would just be creepy. Super creepy.
:DoxySA: Um…

>I wonder what type of governance the colony will have.
You mean the Sakkilian Colonies? It depends on what stage they are currently in. The end goal is democracy, but they need to grow first with easier to handle systems.
>After some light drinking, Zento should excuse himself and meet with Vul to discuss the potential usage of the accelerated gestation tech by the colony. It would certainly be very valuable, though we should give her a lot of trade leniency as we want a good early impression with her colony and species.
While you definitely need to discuss this with Vul as soon as possible, right now is not the time. It’s super early in the morning here and Vul is definitely asleep… or whatever these Flaûgnir do, not to mention that you also need a proper night of sleep. Going to diplomatic talk tired and slightly tipsy is a really bad idea. It will have to wait until tomorrow, at the earliest.
>We should also ensure they use it ethically and cover our tracks if the IOD finds out and starts asking questions, as a comfortably positioned empire like that would surely crack down on any new technology that could potentially rock the boat.
If we’re lucky they’ll continue to stay out of this system… but if they don’t, we’ll just have to be long gone from here if they ever find something. Though, you’re sure Vul can be discreet enough with it.

>Though the IOD species has to be very strange to outlaw sex. They either have an enforcer race or are very dictator like.
:ZentoSA: I was wondering, about the IOD’s… why are they outlawing things like sex in the first place? And how do they enforce it? Do they have some other species to help them or…?
:CarSA: Um… well… they hate fun, I guess?
:GherniSA: They kicked the spores of pretty much the combined might of all the species in this sector, making them the de facto rulers of it by the law of might.
:ZentoSA: And law of might isn’t an actual law, is it?
:CarSA: It’s not an actual law, sir, but… um… “we got the biggest guns, do what we say or you go boom”?
:GherniSA: And I’m guessing they are trying to suppress people even more to keep themselves in control. Hard to revolt when you have no youngsters around. The sector is too big to have guns everywhere, after all.
:ZentoSA: And they don’t have enforcers then?
:CarSA: They do have… um… combat thralls, as they are called. People that’s been… forcefully requited most often.
:GherniSA: They aren’t flying around outside the IOD’s sphere of influence, though.
:ZentoSA: I see…

:ZentoSA: Well, It’s been fun, but I need to call it the night. Got important matters to attend to tomorrow after all.
:GherniSA: What? You’re uprooting yourself already? A real gentleman would keep a lady company for a while longer.
:ZellSA: A real gentleman ‘nows when ‘e should stop as well. It ‘as been fun, lads and lasses.
:SharaSA: You’re just worried about Tes, aren’t you? She’s fine, you old grump.
:ZellSA: Hmpf… she probably is, yes… but still, Ah am rather tired, so Ah’m calling it the night for now.
:SharaSA: *Huff* While I’d love to stay for a while longer, my little treasure in my cargo bay tells me I need a proper night of sleep as well… so I’m calling it quits.
:GherniSA: Aw, come on… if I’d known you all were such a withered bunch, I’d gone with the others to the club… wait, why don’t we? Come on Car, let’s hit all the clubs and see if we can find the others!
:CarSA: Err… the colony only has one club… I think?
:GherniSA: They they’ll be even easier to find! Come on!
:CarSA: Hey, wait!
:ZentoSA: Just make sure you are ready to work tomorrow.
:GherniSA: No promises!
:CarSA: What? No! I promise! I won’t get left behind!
:GherniSA: Oh, right, I’d be stuck here if you left without me… perish the thought. Alright, I won’t go to hard then, Ohoho!

Going by ship time, it’s not too late of an evening, but even than you rather get a good night sleep so that you can tackle whatever craziness tomorrow will throw at you. After all, you’ve done your duty for today, so you deserve some rest. Here’s hoping there won’t be some last minute catastrophe about to happen, because you’re really not in the mood…

…and you find Tizli waiting for you outside your room, dressed in a cute little pajamas and with a pillow in her mouth. You almost forgot that you promised that she could sleep in your room tonight. Definitely not a catastrophe, but still…

:TizliSA: Catee, tee yoo aa!
:ZentoSA: I can’t hear what you’re saying with a pillow in your mouth, Tizli.
:TizliSA: *Pew* Captain, there you are!
:ZentoSA: Wait, how long have you been waiting here?
:TizliSA: Oh, not long at all. Slither into my bedtime clothes just a minute ago and was just about to put on a HoloVid and get all snug on the sofa in the common room. But with you here I can get snug on you instead!
:ZentoSA: Snug… on me?
:TizliSA: Of course. You’re higher rank, so you’re going to be the bottom while I’m the top. Then I can ensure that you’re all warm, snug and well taken care of, no?
:ZentoSA: …you’re still talking about sleeping?
:TizliSA: Yeessss? Why wouldn’t I be? I asked you if you wanted to sleep together, remember? I’m grateful, because we Raolme want our bedtime to be full of… intimacy and sensuality… heh….
:ZentoSA: …right. So, why are you here anyway? Weren’t you going clubbing?
:TizliSA: Ugh, yeah, I tried, but the only club this scumhole has is no pearl in the foam, I tell you what! Way to loud music, really bad music, horrid dancing, horrid smells, horrid floor, horrid chairs and worse off all, someone stepped on my tail! It hurt!
:ZentoSA: Ow… so where are the others?
:TizliSA: Oh, they stayed… they didn’t mind it too much, I guess?
:ZentoSA: And you didn’t want to hang with them?
:TizliSA: Nah… I can’t stand Ike, that Iris girl was completely absorbed by the atmosphere and Tara kept blabbering on about something called… um… a yninon? It sounded super weird, but Ike loved the idea of it, so it has to be bad. But enough about that. Ready to go to bed, tall guy, because you’ll make a perfect mattress for me!

Completely off topic, but I think there might be a way to help with that malfunctioning space canon.

Remember when we were fighting the pirates? One of their ships was cloaked! We should examine that Kelshin terminal to see if there are any blueprints for a cloaking ship. Then we could install the cloaking technology onto one of our cruisers. That would help with getting close enough to the canon to disable it without destroying it.

And now to get back on topic:

>>1019537
>Tara kept blabbering on about something called…um…a yninon? It sounded super weird, but Ike loved the idea of it, so it has to be bad.
"Oh, that's a Sakkilian drinking game. I hope they don't get drunk off their asses. We may not be leaving the system, but there are things that need to be done tomorrow."

>Ike

Invite her in and get comfortable with her on top of you. Ask exactly how intimate she's wanting to get?

>I’m not sure he should sleep with Zells daughter as she’s kind of like the girlfriend of his son.
…you’re saying Tes is Vex’s girlfriend? No, you’re pretty sure they are just acquaintances. Besides, you have this feeling that your boy Vex is into other boys. Though you can be wrong…
While it’s a great idea to use your enemies’ technology with your ships modular design, you’ve already checked the terminal for all the information it had. If you want to try and reverse engineer their cloaking technology, you’re going to need to capture or buy a ship with said technology.

>Invite her in and get comfortable with her on top of you.
:ZentoSA: Let’s take this discussion somewhere a bit more comfortable.
:TizliSA: Let’s.
You open the door for her and she enters your room, swaying her tail side to side as her sharp claws clinks against the floor. Well inside she quickly makes her way to your bed and proceeds to sit down on all four right next to it, waiting for you to get ready.

>Sad that her tail got stepped on, she has a cute tail.
:TizliSA: Damn right I do. This briny little thing has had many cute boys like yourself swooning after me.
:ZentoSA: *BrushBrushBrush* But you didn’t get to badly hurt? *BrushBrush* When one of those gargoyles stepped on it, I mean? *Brush* I just assume it was one of them. *BrushBrush*
:TizliSA: It was… and they are heavy, let me tell you. Felt like a darn river bug bit me… one of those big ones, but luckily there weren’t any lasting damage… except for a bit of soreness. Oh, and may I ask, what are you doing?
:ZentoSA: I’m brushing my teeth? *Twee* Don’t you clean your teeth?
:TizliSA: Not like that, no. I’m sure your teeth might feel like pearls after a good scrubbing, but ours? It would throw them right into the sludge and ruin the delicate coating they already have.
After you finish up in the bathroom, you find her in the exact spot you left her in, rubbing her tail a little bit with a rather sour expression. Though as you start to undress down to your underwear, you’re sure you see a slight smile spread on her face, even though she never move her head to look in your direction… though she probably don’t need to…

>Ike? Who is that? Is she talking about Eki?
:TizliSA: Ike, Eki, who cares. She’s a cretin, that’s what she is.
:ZentoSA: Play nice, Tizli.
:TizliSA: Pff, not with her, no.
Laying down on the bed, you barely have time to pull your cover over you before she jumps up on top of you. As soon as she regain her footing, she bend down her head and start sniffing you, all the while she slowly walk around in a small circle over your body, with her tail barely touching her snout as she does so. After spinning around three times she finally stops, satisfied with… whatever she did. You’re just lucky that she’s really light…
:ZentoSA: Heh, what are you doing?
:TizliSA: Oh, just checking my new nest. Got to make sure there aren’t any big snakes hiding around the tall grass, you know, hehe.
:ZentoSA: So am I up to your standards, little lady?
:TizliSA: Big, warm and rather soft… everything a gal would want. The only thing is a bit of an odd smell. But that will go away after I nuzzle you for a bit.

>Ask exactly how intimate she wants to get?
:TizliSA: Hmm? Aren’t we already rather cozy?
She grabs the cover with one of her claws and lifts it. At first you think she’s about to pull it off completely, but instead she presses down with her other claw to make sure the cover doesn’t move.
:TizliSA: Or do you want to get even… closer?
:ZentoSA: Now now, the custom is Holovid first.
She repeat the same motion with her other claw, pulling on the cover with it while pressing down with her other claw, before repeating the pattern again with the first claw…
:TizliSA: A holovid? For being a mattress? Why, don’t your species usually hug and kiss those you care about?
:ZentoSA: We do even more than kiss, Tizli, at least to the one that we really care about. Though, the question I have… if I'm the mattress tonight, are you going to be the one inflated tomorrow?
Immediately when you say that, she stops and “looks” down at you questionably, before her ears shoots up when she figure out what she meant.
:TizliSA: Captain Zento? Why, aren’t you naughty?
:ZentoSA: To be honest, I’ve got a lot of mixed signals from you tonight, Tizli.
:TizliSA: Because I meant it when I said I wanted to sleep with someone, as in literally sleep next to. We Raolme hate sleeping alone, you understand, so no, I didn’t have any ulterior motives.
:ZentoSA: Really? And all those innuendoes?
:TizliSA: …okay, I might be a tease, I admit that, hehe… and I wouldn’t say no to some nuzzling… maybe a bit of licking… oh, and head scratches, can’t forget head scratches! But… then again… as they say, when in unclaimed space… hmm… you do have protection, right? Though I’m fine with just head scratches if you don’t…

Keep the protection for now. Imagine how Eki would react if she found out you fathered a kid with Tiz. She'd totally be jealous! But maybe Tiz too, if it was the other way around...

Why not make a dare with her? If Tiz and Ike ever start getting along close enough to seriously consider a threesome with you, they'd agree to bareback. The results would be both symbol and reward of the peace you brokered between two former enemies.

I don’t think we should say that. It wouldn’t be fair for her if we told her something that says, “You can’t have sex with me unless Eki is also here for a threesome.” That’d be a good way to make sure we never have sex with Tizli at all!

Also, I don’t think sex is enough of a reward to make Tizli start getting along with Eki. Especially if she would be forced to share the “reward” with Eki.

Not necessarily. While we can’t do it at this exact moment, we’re not planning on dealing with the canon for a while anyway. If you keep your eyes out for a Kelshin ship, you might just get lucky.

>Well it's not like you can crossbreed with her yet anyway.
With Vex research into the subject combined with the technology you already possess, it should be possible for the two of you to reproduce. Though, as you still haven’t made a proper field test, you can’t say for certain if it will work or not.
>Actually, I think it was mentioned already that Sakkilians and Raolme are similar enough to each other, that it is possible to crossbreed with each other.
…they are aliens from another galaxy; of course you aren’t similar enough to crossbreed normally. But you already have the technology to create hybrids with the aliens back in your own galaxy, so it should work with the aliens of this galaxy as well.

>I guess that means that you have to respect her wishes. No sex for you tonight.
Just having her snuggling against your body is enough, honestly…
>Head scratches it is then!
:TizliSA: Coo~
:ZentoSA: Oh? Do you like that?
:TizliSA: *Purr* Oh, I love myself so good scriches…
As you scratch her behind the ear, she slowly lower her head until she’s laying on top of your chest.
:TizliSA: *Purr*
Her whole body vibrates as she purrs, her hind legs scratching the air a bit as she enjoys herself…
:TizliSA: … … …
Then her breathing slow down and get deeper… as she slowly drift off to sleep while laying on top of you.

>Imagine how Eki would react if she found out you fathered a kid with Tiz. She'd totally be jealous! But maybe Tiz too, if it was the other way around...
Oh right… both of them have shown interested in you, just as you’ve done to them, and it’s clear that neither of them care for the other. You might have put yourself in a rather sticky situation, as neither will probably take it well if the other bears your child.
>Why not make a dare with her? If Tiz and Ike ever start getting along close enough to seriously consider a threesome with you, they'd agree to bareback. The results would be both symbol and reward of the peace you brokered between two former enemies.
That sounds like a bad idea. Not only would any “friendship” that’s been forced like that be rather fragile, but you don’t think having sex with you is something both of them deem as a proper reward either… at least not for something like that.
>"Dare" was the wrong word, "bet" is better. Getting to their friendship to that point is so unlikely you might as well place a bet on it, however low the odds.
And if you tell her about this bet it would probably be even lower. No, let’s not force them into a relation neither of them wishes to be in.

:DoxySA: Then I’m sure you’re going to be in for a pleasant surprise *Giggle*

>Please understand it's not you it's... the spacecrew life.
:TozlanSA: Hmm? What do you mean, friend?
:DoxySA: Well… One day, you think your nest-sister will be with you forever. The next, they're pushing you onto the last seat on the escape pod.
:TozlanSA: … … …space isn’t the safest place, is it…
:DoxySA: I hear lots of stories like that, especially as it's my job to hear it... I'm experienced enough to know better than to get too attached to anyone. No matter how much I like the image of a hilltop cottage with my cute little hybrid children running around.
:TozlanSA: …I understand. While I’d like dream about going somewhere safe with someone I care for, I… I don’t think there is a place for me like that anywhere right now.
:DoxySA: …is the galaxy really that dangerous?
:TozlanSA: It just might be… but hearing you dream about a riverside cottage with cute hybrid children does brighten it bit…
:DoxySA: *Giggle* Really?
:TozlanSA: But if we make the galaxy a safer place, then maybe… just maybe… that cottage might become reality, hmm?
:DoxySA: Though… even then… I’m still a Commander of the Colony fleet… I’m still needed on the ship.
:TozlanSA: …after you’re done with your duties, of course.
:DoxySA: Of course…
>And I’m sure the chocolate is still good, you just have to get some on your fingers and lick it up.
You put some chocolate on your finger and quickly lick it up.
:TozlanSA: What are you doing?
:DoxySA: I’m just eating some of the chocolate.
Once again, you put some chocolate on your finger, but this time you take your time to really show Tozlan how you’re licking it off.
:TozlanSA: Do you usually eat it like this?
:DoxySA: No, it’s usually less liquidly… or you have something better to dip in it. But try it, you’ll love it.
Instead of putting his own claw in the chocolate he gently guides your hand towards it with his tail, before guiding it toward his own snout after it has been covered by the sweet substance. Tozlan then proceed to sloppily lick your hand clean with his long tongue.
:DoxySA: Hey! I meant with your own fingers *giggle*
:TozlanSA: It’s just so much sweeter being eaten like this.
:DoxySA: It’s also leaving my hand super sloppy, you jerk.
:TozlanSA: Heh, I’m just doing what you asked, Dox. You know… this wasn’t what I thought would happen when I asked you out yesterday…

>Ask him how he felt it would go.
:TozlanSA: Well… I actually thought we would still be on the ship, friend… and just enjoy a normal dinner and conversation under the starry sky…
:DoxySA: That does sound lovely as well, though… I do have some other ideas that might have worked…
:TozlanSA: Oh, really?
:DoxySA: Something like... romantic cuddling, maybe?
:TozlanSA: That does sound lovely, yeah…
He moves a step closer to you, leaning his head on your shoulder as his tail coils around you.
:DoxySA: Feeding each other food?
:TozlanSA: If we had the right type of food, maybe…
He dips one of his front claws in the chocolate and present it to you, letting you greedily lick it off him.
:DoxySA: Some conversation about pleasant topics…
:TozlanSA: …and some topics that aren’t so pleasant… but still…
:DoxySA: Then a walk back to my room?
:TozlanSA: Heh… maybe? Though… there was still that thing I wanted to ask you, Doxy…

>Let him know that whatever he wants to say, he should say it.
:TozlanSA:
…he moves a bit so that his mouth is right next to your ear and whispers…
:TozlanSA: …do… do you want to help me become a father?

Try to not wake her up by poking her with your dick!

Answer yes.

Make sure you guys pick up everything before you leave! You don’t want to gain a reputation of leaving a bunch of trash behind!

Agree to help Tozlan become a father. Don't freak out if he has a weird looking alien dick.

>No, let’s not force them into a relation neither of them wishes to be in.
Even if not intimate, it'd a shame if they could never patch things up. Their backgrounds are different, and their races are at war, but outlooks are similar enough that they really could've been friends in another life. It is a lot to forgive, I'll admit.

>you guess it’s time to doze off yourself and join her…
May you have pleasent dreams of wives and bellies, captain.

>do you want to help me become a father?
"I'm always ready to help men become dads.". Note to self: look up if superfetation mods are a thing. Not necessarily for you, just curious.

Shh, don’t ruin the moment! And of course you’re not leaving any trash behind, sheesh…
>Don't freak out if he has a weird looking alien dick.
Hey, you’re kind of hoping that his dick is super freaky.
>Obviously you should say yes.
Obviously.

:DoxySA: Thought you'd never ask…

And that night Tozlan learned how to become a father… by mounting Doxy’s fine rump and humping a child into it. Meanwhile, Doxy learned that Raolme have two dicks and they both open up like a flower before orgasm.

Gazing out towards these unknown consolations, basking in the starlight of this new galaxy with Tizli sleeping soundly on your chest, you can’t help but to think back on everything that’s happen the last week. While you knew things would be different as well as difficult, you didn’t expect to be stranded with only a ship in a foreign galaxy without knowing if anyone else survived. Though even then, it hasn’t been that bad, has it? No one has died, even if there were a few close calls, and you might just have made an important ally for the colony fleet as well. You can only hope this luck will continue to be with you…

>Try to not wake her up by poking her with your dick!
…you’d like to think you have enough self-control to not sport a boner just because a beautiful lady is sleeping on top of you.
>Even if not intimate, it'd a shame if they could never patch things up. Their backgrounds are different, and their races are at war, but outlooks are similar enough that they really could've been friends in another life. It is a lot to forgive, I'll admit.
They are very similar in many ways, yeah… though it’s a given they would be rather hostile to each other. Remember, both of them have already tried to kill the other, so it’s clear that they aren’t just going to kiss and make up. And you don’t think their species are officially at war. One species just have a lot of space pirates in their mist while the others have a lot of space faring traders and merchants… it’s not surprising things might be a bit tense between them.
>May you have pleasant dreams of wives and bellies, captain.
With how things have been going lately you wouldn’t be surprised if there were a lot more large bellies in your future, hopefully mostly made by yourself. Though, if you’re to dream about your future brides and their round, beautiful bellies, you just might pop that boner you were worried about earlier…

Your attention is torn from the dreams of pregnant ladies to the lady sleeping on you, as she nuzzle your chest a bit in her sleep before kicking in the air a few times with one of her hind legs. Maybe she’s dreaming of husbands and… her own belly? Nah… probably not.
Gazing over her beautiful frame one last time, you finally close your eyes to let sleep come and bring a new tomorrow… a tomorrow that you just feel will be without any unwanted surprises…

Hmm. Wonder who the father(s) is/are.

Let's see, tomorrow... introduce our new farmer to the farm. Stocks are full so we don't need double duty there. Take a volunteer for mess hall and security (Sharah no doubt) and fill up research (next research project was Hanger) and misc tasks. I wonder if our storage expert would prefer cleaning or maintenance?
We might want to put a second person on security duty so that we can have a night shift. Now that we've hired some outsiders we need to make sure the ship is secure.

IIRC our next stop was to scan Gamma.

>a tomorrow that you just feel will be without any unwanted surprises…
You may have Doxy report to you from Medical on that front, after she meets some surprise guests there.

>[Commander Doxy is pregnant.]
"Glad you and Tozlan are getting along well. I'd hate for your new project to have any complications."

>[Ensign Tescia is pregnant.]
You didn't tell Tesc that you needed her skills today, or that gargoyles are compatable now. If she slept with with Car or a racer, don't judge. Just be surprised she was so quick. Unless...

>[Ensign Regina is pregnant.]
She was busy tonight, but who did she do? You were with the guys and you didn't see her around, right? So all males on board would be occupied, right? Unless...

... How do murgh reproduce? Try not to panic anyone about spores or anything, but we should send Gherni to Research. Here's to hoping we can stay on track today.

With how many new crew we’re going to be getting, we’d better invest in the Storage Upgrade so we can store more food and the Crew Quarters Upgrade so we can have room for all of the crew!

We should also consider better methods of making more food at a fast rate because if things keep going like this, the amount of food consumed will be greater than the amount of food being made, which is bad if we’re not going to be docked at a station for long periods of time!

>Tesc slept with with Car or a racer, don't judge.
I'm pretty sure it was one of the racers. Of course, we won't judge her. Her father on the other hand, might have a meltdown.

>>1020482
>Need upgrades and ways to generate food faster.
Yeah, with how quickly our crew is growing, we're going to be needing those things.
