Maybe go back and talk to Protyte? He probably thinks you're dead or abandoned him-
>>
No. 1011334 ID: 532ac2

Usually I'd say to complete the room, but after all this time, is Protyte okay? He *was* pretty badly damaged. Best to see if he's still alive.
>>

Ask Isen where we can locate something to move Protyte around, as he is injured.
>>
No. 1011350 ID: f13b9a

I think we give Isen some more reassurance and explain where we're going, then get anything that could help Protyte move or be healed, and then go out to him.
I think Protyte might be upset at our absence, and probably would have a complicated reaction to Isen being alive (or 'alive'), so we should bring it up nicely, without going too far into the implications of ghosts or demons.

Well, very few people who have died get to say stuff afterwards.
So, he's pretty alive for a supposedly dead guy.

>I think we give Isen some more reassurance and explain where we're going, then get anything that could help Protyte move or be healed, and then go out to him.

That does seem like a good idea, you look over to Isen and begin explaining, reassuring him every time something negative comes up

You tell him that Protyte has been waiting for a very long time for you to find something to help him off of the wall

Isen doesn't reply for a moment, looking down, then he speaks up

"I.. I don't think there's anything useful in here, but.. I do have an idea, but you'll have to trust me, okay..?"

Isen gently chuckles, you didn't even realise you said that out loud, but he seems to not mind

"I guess, I'm pretty alive for a dead guy, eh? Maybe I have some unfinished business, maybe this is an emergency backup for if I'm ever severely injured, who knows, but it's probably best not to think about it"

You and Isen make your way out of the room, down the hallway, out through Xeno's office and to Protyte's cell, you noticed Alpha was no longer on the screen on your way out, though.. But your thougts are quickly cut off when a familiar voice calls out

"Z-ZERO?? YOU'RE ALIVE? I THOUGHT YOU FUCKIN DIED! DON'T DISSAPEAR ON ME LIKE THAT AGAIN, FUCK!" he yells out, sounding concerned but thankful. The liquid metal placed on the spikes seem to have set, blending in with his own metal

"And.. What is- Wait.. I-Isen..?"

First, apologize for the severe delay. Tell him you lost power. Well, maybe? It's fuzzy as to what exactly occurred. Still, good to see he's still alive!

As to our blue eyed pal, well, I'd hoped we could go slow with the reveal because the whole spiel is a lot to deal with, but hey. Still, give the rest of the details to Protyte step by step.

If Protyte reacts with disbelief, perhaps he could tell Protyte of a secret that just the two of them are aware of?

Sorry, I collapsed on my way to find a way to help and only woke up recently.

Protyte speaks, "A-Alive? But I heard.."

Isen then speaks up, cutting off Protyte, "I'm conscious, alive? Debateable, but I am aware.. I was told you.. Heard what happened..?"

Protyte replies, "I.. I did, are you alright?"

Isen replies, "I.. Got over it, I'd prefer not to talk about it"

Protyte goes silent for a moment, before replying, "..Understandable, you had it the worst out of all of us. But enough of that, did you do something useful for once, Zero?" Protyte smiles, his eyes seeming more alive than before

Robots have PLENTY of mechanisms to heal. Shape Memory Alloys. Various damage mitigation systems, including spraying different materials to mitigate structural damage. Use of many small sensors to route around damage. Carrying embedded spare parts. Being not just a single robot, having small repair bots capable of doing tasks like cutting and welding or similar the way humans have cells, but bigger. Full on nanotechnology might be a thing. Fitting a sapient AI into a self-mobile, humanoid shaped and sized entity means that there's some very extreme tech going on!

"While it's- ah- flattering you think I have all those, I'm just the prototype, your prototype to be exact. I'm the bare minimum, the experiment, if anything you should have the healing abilities"

Protyte still seemed to be in pain, but it looked as if he was getting used to it

>As chipper as ever, last I checked. Since you insist on moving, do you want me to take you to her? We could also go deeper into the facility, if you think it more important.

"The production line has to be somewhere, sitting here for years hasn't helped with my memory of the layout, plus an abandoned factory/laboratory might not be as pristine as I remember.

"Finding other survivors would be ideal, going deeper into the facility would help with that, and seeing Alpha would be comforting.. Going deeper into the facility does inherit risks however, the security system may still be active even after all this time, and I highly doubt he left us with any admin control"

"Protyte! It's so good to see you! Looking as sharp as ever!"

Protyte looks down at his injuries, thinking.

"The spikes seem to have just hit my artificial organs, if we if we find a terminal we can run a diagnosis on Zero and I and see what the major failures are. The two of us are in safe mode as evident by our eyes"

Alpha takes a shakey breath, composing herself

"T-There's a terminal behind Zero's transport chamber, b-behind the closed hatch, I c-can try to open it for you to give you access, but I have a feeling Protyte won't be able to fit through with their current condition, so nothing can be done about Zero as of right now.. Ah, Protyte can't go into the other room, but Isen could. Do you have to interact with the console just to let the robot in the pod out? Or can the connected robot disconnect themselves? I'm guessing the former, otherwise Isen could just go read the console for you and it wouldn't be an issue.

Anyway, I say we go investigate the survivor. Still got that flashlight. Odd though, to mistake their eyes for yours... it can't be Beta or Zeta. Do we know of any other robots?

>Ah, Protyte can't go into the other room, but Isen could. Do you have to interact with the console just to let the robot in the pod out? Or can the connected robot disconnect themselves? I'm guessing the former, otherwise Isen could just go read the console for you and it wouldn't be an issue.

You ask Protyte if a bot can disconnect themselves from the terminal, he shakes his head

"The capsule will keep you locked in transport mode until you are disconnected by someone with terminal access, or if the capsule experiences some sort of malfunction"

Disappointing, but then again, it seems as if your only issues are software related, so that's good

>Anyway, I say we go investigate the survivor. Still got that flashlight. Odd though, to mistake their eyes for yours... it can't be Beta or Zeta. Do we know of any other robots?

You obviously don't know since your memory has been lost, so you turn to the other two, asking them who they think it may be

Protyte answers first, "The only guaranteed green eyes I can think of is Zeta, Security bot, bad news for us if Xeno didn't want us leaving, anyone else could be having a software issue like you. Also, who's Beta?"

Isen thinks at the same time, before speaking, "W-Well, there's many bots, some don't even have proper names yet.. Project Delta,, all the Zeta bots.. a-actually, most bots aren't made to completion, most aren't e-even given an AI.. It could be any of them.. W-We weren't told every single bot's name or even that they existed.."

My point was that they have three eyes, you have two. I guess it could be Zeta with their third eye broken?

Delta? That's the first we've heard of that. What's Project Delta?

You have no idea, but that's the only culprit we can put on the table right now, bad news according to Protyte

>Delta? That's the first we've heard of that. What's Project Delta?

"I-I don't know.. I-It was a project Xeno was working on a w-while ago.. Highly advanced.. Made for a w-war I think? I doubt it h-has an AI.."

*ALL* the Zeta bots? As in multiple? How many are we talking here?

Either way, Isen should go see Alpha. We did spoil the reunion a bit for the sake of Protyte's health. Besides, she may know more about who's who around here. Guess we should head back too, now that we don't exactly have a clear goal. Sure we could solve Xeno's motive or attempt to leave, or figure out the weirdness of Protyte's dates (1897 would be WAY before Humanity's first computers), but we don't exactly have a priority now that Protyte's just missing a bit of oil.

>*ALL* the Zeta bots? As in multiple? How many are we talking here?

Protyte responds, "They were the security bots of the facility, there were about a hundred to my knowledge, about 10 in each section of the facility. Xeno was either saw them as a threat too and attacked them, or he's used them as a way to keep us locked up in here. I'm fairly sure the security room was through that dark hallway in Xeno's room"

Isen doesn't say anything for a moment, but adds "W-Where you found me, Zero.."

>Either way, Isen should go see Alpha. We did spoil the reunion a bit for the sake of Protyte's health. Besides, she may know more about who's who around here. Protyte and Isen look at eachother, seemingly a bit confused at your words, before Protyte speaks

"Yeah, let's go see Alpha, she'll know what to do next, she probably has the best memory of us all"

Helping Protyte up, the three of you head down to Xeno's office to go talk to Alpha

As you enter the office, Alpha begins to speak

"I assume you found the terminal? Was Protyte's injuries life threatening at all?"

Protyte speaks before you get the chance to respond, "No, just my artificial organ system and oil loss, I should be just fine"

"Well that's good to hear!" She responds happily, but you could tell there was something wrong from her expression, Isen could tell too

"A-Alpha.." He says timidly, "I k-know you're worried about me, but I'm f-fine,, nothing much more can be done about me.."

Her expression doesn't change that much, it seems she already knew that

"I know.." She responds quietly, "I'm just happy to have you back"

The room falls into silence as Alpha takes a moment, closing her eyes and seemingly taking a deep breath, before opening them again

"The quickest and easiest way to the deeper parts of the facility would be through the Zeta hatches, through the hallway, there's no cameras in there, or at least none I can access.. so you'll be on your own until you find me at a monitor, though I'll still open the hatch for you"

>Uh... do we have a reason to go deeper into the facility? If it's going to be risky, why not just stay here and gather supplies and equipment before we go on an excursion for whatever reason?

Protyte looks at you with an almost angry expression, "What, we're just gonna leave the others to rot? We don't know who's alive and who isn't, and until we find out I'm not leaving. What reason do we have to believe outside is even an option for us? Our family might be broken, but there's one piece missing, we're not leaving without Vixen."

Alpha responds, "I agree, my last detection of Vixen's whereabouts before Xeno cut off my admin control was in her growth pod, her vital signs seemed stable and the pod was designed to keep her alive. Plus, another reason to go deeper is to get you fixed Zero, and maybe even get Protyte a new leg or body. Leaving is possible, but then again, why would Xeno have left the front door open for us to just walk through? Our options are sit here until our deaths, or attempt to find other survivors and find a way out, or a reason Xeno.."

Protyte seems to stare at Alpha a little stronger as she stops speaking, looking a little worried

"N-Nevermind that, our main priority is finding survivors, we'll be able to tell if Xeno decided the security bots were a danger once we open one of the Zeta hatches, if there's an intact bot inside then we'll have to be careful, if not then the facility should be entirely safe"
>>

We're not leaving the others to rot if we take five freakin' minutes to get ourselves together. It's no help to them if we wander out unprepared.

Well, if we're potentially fighting security bots, we should at least have weapons of sorts. Don't care if it's just sharpened metal table legs to throw or just extend our range. Don't want to lose anybody else. If a few minutes could save our metal hides, it's worth the few minutes.

Protyte pauses, closes his eyes and looks away

"..Fair. Sorry, I'm not used to you thinking in a way I agree with"

"That makes two of us" Alpha giggles, before Isen speaks up

"B-But where is there to go? We can explore a little, I think there w-were some items in the cell.. A-And maybe we could use one of the s-spikes as a weapon?"

>Alright, known salvage first. To the cell.

You and Protyte head out to the cell, you decide to let Protyte search the outside while you search the inside since he's been in there long enough

The first thing you find is a sharp piece of metal, almost like a knife, that you could use as a blade

Protyte picks up one of the spikes outside the cell, inspecting it with a more curious expression

"I grew to hate these things, but maybe they'll save me this time"

"Or I could just plunge it through your chest and call it a day, give you a taste of paradise" He suddenly states, before giving a a smile akin to the one you first saw him with

"Kidding, I almost forgot my sense of humour after you vanished for a bit, wanna go tell the others we found some stuff?"

>Yes, I think it is time to explore the Zeta hatches and find a way to the rest of the facility.

You head back to the others, telling them that you had found some weapons to protect yourselves with, Isen and Alpha seemingly glad that you're armed

"We should head down the Zeta hatch now, may as well get it over with, if theres no Zeta inside then we're sitting ducks and its safer to move, if there is one in there, its safe to say that all of them have been destroyed and we're safe to move and find other survivors, either way, we move"

Everyone agrees, Alpha bidding the group farewell until they meet deeper in the facility

"I won't have any way to contact you guys unless you come across one of my screens, there may be some I can access in major situations but many of the normal screens around the facility don't have a microphone or camera so I won't see or hear you, I'll only use this option if it's seriously needed"

You nod, understanding, before taking Isen and Protyte through the hallway to the Zeta hatches..
