Another chapter in our wholesome slice-of-life for the Yamelle-Damas.

What Happens? It’s The Sims! But with chupians. No plot, just living it. You’re all probably here for some lore! A very simple family quest.
NSFW for bathhouse nudity and potential lewds.

Why can't you buy a gamestation from the local intergalactic shopping hub?

Glad to know upsettingly-named cereal is a universal standard.

Honestly? Combination of A, B, C, and E:

Tell the boys to sit on opposite ends of the table and have Vikta go get dressed while you finish cooking breakfast, or so help you, you'll get Dama up here to deal with them while you go mind the register.

>>1131784

Yeah, for real, though I fear that Vikta would spend all his time in front of the thing, and then we'd have to hear it from the others and the inevitable, "mom said it's MY turn on the gamestation!" turning into a whole ordeal.

A and E.
A mother ranting as she cooks is the prelude to a symphony of trouble for kids. With her clattering pots louder as percussion instruments warning them of a crescendo.

Its a bit passive aggressive but its also a little performative gives kids a chance to not be the one still misbehaving when the prelude ends

Plus its fun to bang pots and pans in frustration

I was not aware of an episode 2. Sensational!

I don't know what to vote for, but as a mother Yamelle is capable of multitasking.

A combination of some votes can probably be done. Depending on which child is a shut-in, grounding would not be as effective on them as the others, though you should really finish cooking.

If the eldest is somewhat responsible and currently not the one that's underdressed, you can ask them to help dress their siblings properly, else threaten dad on them.

Yamelle huffs and tries to ignore all the current noise. Perhaps they’ll calm down once they have something in their bellies. She mixes the boiling pot of water-oats and adds some sinnaprika zest.

Del: Hey mom, can I hang out with Januk today?

Yamelle: hrmm We’ll see after the sermon. Okay? Mommy’s a bit focused now.

Sashi: Heeey, who put their hair in my bowl?

Vikta: Don’t look at me.

Oough. Ma stirs faster. There’s no time for laundry so there’s only one surefire solution.

Yamelle: Deemus, let your brother borrow one of your robes.

Del: Sure, he can just go basket-diving in my dirty laundry.

Yamelle: No--have him pick one of the clean ones.

Del: Don’t matter. I fart on every one of them.

Nummax: PPTHTHPTH!

Tsk.

Yamelle: Sashi, dress your brother!

Vikta: I can dress myself. I’m not two.

Yamelle: Then get your wrinkled kiester going! If you’re not dressed by--

Vikta: I know I know!

Vikta returns with a new robe in time for breakfast to be splattered in their bowls.

Nummax: I’d rather eat a bowl of moosecorn.

>There will be groundings for everyone if [they don’t] start acting civilized.
Yamelle: If even ONE of you rascals doesn’t cease your misbehaving, ESPECIALLY at church, then I’ll have you all empty the fur traps in the bathhouse for a week!

A chorus of ‘eeew’ harmonizes on this floor.

Yamelle: Eat! We’re already going to be five minutes late at this point.

The children comply.

Water-oats are, at least, tolerable despite blandness. Several minutes pass as there is finally some decent peace and quiet in the house. There can be a plethora of stuff the children can talk about while Yamelle cleans up the kitchen. Not limited to:
• Play a game at the table, like I Spy or something.
• Debate who is Ma/Da’s favorite child
• Plan fun things after the dumb sermon (together or separately)
• Something popular with their generation (those choomers don’t understand the hype)
• Prank someone without Ma looking:
→ like covertly fling some food at someone
→ yoink someone’s tail fur
→ or say “What’s that?” Then dump your food in someone’s bowl when they’re distracted
→ or something else guaranteed to be a barrel of laughs
• Mention the terrible strange things in the woods they cannot go into (probably to scare Nummax)
• Ask if Vikta is adopted (insist he is)
• Think about what you’ll do when you grow up
• Just talk about anything, really. I’m not a kid anymore; I don’t know what they do. Do kids even talk to each other anymore with their tiktoks in their faces? You know in my day--

(Que some disappointed children noises when some bugs eat each other).

The older kids get teased for having cooties (is that a thing in their culture?) For liking so-and-so.

Ask Ma if they can have (insert weird kids food) in their porridge / oatmeal next time.

Ask questions about their religion, like why are there so many goddesseseses, and like if there's a super goddess that punches bad guys.

Contemplate the meaning of life and achieve chim, then forget a second later since yal are kids.

Yamelle: Just like how I need all of you to do your chores equally.

Nummax: Are they pretty? Do you think they’ll like me?

Vikta: But Nummax, you don’t even like girls.

Nummax: Oh, right.

Sashi: They slip out of their cages and get in your socks and fur.

Sashi: And they crawl in your mouth when you sleep. And then you have a bug in your brain! Like Teacher Lam.

Del: Nummax puts bugs in his mouth all the time. Probably explains why he acts like a weirdo.

Maltar: And I say: ‘Hey! That’s my coal shovel!’ But the buffoon insists it was his! Gifted by his wife from the appliance store his past birthday. But you’d make anything up these days. I said that shovel was my brand! He says ‘of course it’s the same brand if we shop at the same store!’

Maltar: I say that wasn’t true! There’s a smaller shack further down the village that sells a variety of shovels. I didn’t buy my shovel there; but that’s beside the point!

Dama a dad's job is never time. Time to take charge.

Allow Yamelle to go clean Nummax up. Instruct Sashi to go get one of your clean robes to exchange for theirs. They can use a sash to make it shorter.

Del and Vikta are obviously full so no need for them to continue breakfast. They get to clean all the dishes up since they are so full of energy.

Don't forget to kiss your beutiful wife! Maybe do something like, help wrangle the kids while she handles you youngest one in her hands.

Hmmm. The 'pooter idea might have merit, but you'd need to be careful about it. Not too little time where they'd yell, not too much where they become onw of those reclusive children that does nothing but stay at home.

If- IF you and your wife (whom you should consult about this hypothetical idea) agrees to this, and if either of you have some wit for technology, you'll probably need to as a rule put a parental filter so they can't visit adult sites, and limit them to maybe half an hour ever orher day?

You could also use a computer to print out fliers for your buisness if you're ever doing anything special, though that might not be nessessary due to how small your home town is. With such a low population everyone practically knows each other.

Oh right, responsibility. If you can afford it and neither of you have the time, you might want to consider hiring a tutor in the future if any of your kids are bad at their school work, and is there something like a "Boys/Girls Scout" or scout master around? Some extra-curricular activities never hurt anyone.

>living in a society that has bathhouses as part of the culture, wouldn't [the Dama children] be used to naked people?
In a sense. No doubt the children have accidentally witnessed naked adult strangers when they weren’t supposed to among the bathhouse grounds; they’re generally prohibited from the downstairs baths. Otherwise they’d run around the pool yelling, splashing, and annoying customers.

>It’s dad time
>United front with your wife
>help wrangle the kids while she handles your youngest one in her hands.
Dama: What’s this commotion about‽

There ought to be a new punctuation between a period and an exclamation. His voice cuts through the mayhem; the children stop. With a harrumph Yamelle removes the bowl off Nummax’s head and carries him to the bathroom for a quick change during the intermissive stillness. It’s Dama’s turn to corral the kids. The oldest child dares to speak first, arms akimbo and a pompous flourish.

Sashi: Father! Look what they did to my dress--

Dama: Head to your room and change, Sashi.

He reaches the top of the stairs. She tries to steal some empowering energy. Sassy.

Sashi: You dunces are in big troub--

Dama: Now.

Sashi: eee!

She turns tail and skedaddles to her room.

He collects a few spilled bowls on the floor. The silence as he does is dreadful to the remaining two boys.

Del: Well I should comb my fur and get ready for--

Dama: Join me at the sink.

He ushers Deemus and Vikta to approach the sink pan in the kitchen. A stool is scooted on over for them to reach the deep end; the dishes clatter inside with the giant pot Ma cooked their breakfast in.

Dama: You can help your mother clean the dishes as she deals with your youngest.

Vikta: But my fingers get prune-y.

Dama: I didn’t ask for a doctor’s note.

Dama: Now scrub.

The boys mutter and jab words at each other, but their hands do the work. Dama dusts off the dinner table.

Dama: We’ll already be late arriving to the temple. You should be done in ten minutes. If not by then, you’ll be staying here to scrub the whole bathhouse.

The sounds of scrubbing get a little faster and louder.

Thankfully within the allotted time, the last dish is set upon a strainer (Dama double-checks the cleanliness of their efforts, not great not terrible). Yamelle returns with Sashi and Nummax, ready to leave.

In regards to weather, the walk to the temple is pleasant--although the kids don’t quite admire the beauty of the village as adults would. It’s a moderate day for the middle of the week; the town is active with plenty of residents shopping, walking, sweeping, working, playing instruments, and other light activities. Many recognizable faces bestow hellos to the Yamelle-Damas, there’s hardly a local who wouldn’t know the parents and their staple in Du-garan life.

Vikta: Ma, can I hang out at the market with my friends after church?

Yamelle: No dear. You boys will have daycare later.

Vikta: Whaaat? What’s wrong with staying home?

Yamelle: The babysitters aren’t available. And we’ll be too busy at work! We can’t leave you unattended.

Del: Hey wait. What about Sashi?

Sashi: I have a play to go to. I’m going to be in movies when I grow up!

Del: Like ‘background person #1’.

Dama: Be nice.

Del: Yes, father.

Yamelle: That’s very good, Sashi! You may even travel the world with your talents! Perhaps the first in our family to visit another planet!

Well you all made it in the middle of one of the opening songs. It’s not too late to quietly pick your seat. The tardiness, however, gives you less-favorable places to sit towards the back--or at a weird angle.

A hymn as old as history, several choir singers chant as congregants join when they please. It is music the children would recognize by heart from lullabies. Other songs on the choir playlist involve throat-singing (which the crowd probably leaves to the professionals).

Zimir stands behind the lectern with his extra-blessed nuns flanking him. Before preaching and scripture reading, Head Preacher Zimir is obligated to inform the town of upcoming events and other special announcements.

A multitude of stuff can happen here, as the prompt is quite open-ended for contributions. And I aint thinking hard on this quest at the moment.
