Ugh... Carlos, did you even read the whole file? Look It's a peaceful protest right now outside of the factory and It's both workers rights activists and some of the workers themselves, right now they are just protesting for my compensation for their time and danger pay, if it turns ugly however we need you out there.

You and others will be stationed outside in the truck and we need you to be ready to deploy incase things turn ugly. Right now the case file isn't too big, this factory has some bad work conditions and is owned by a company, uh, Big Chin Foundations? Weird name. Apparently they have a habit of making shady business deals and using loopholes in contracts to avoid paying workers comp. The workers at the honey factory have had enough have begun a peaceful protest along with various civilians and activists. Doesn't sound like will turn ugly but we need to be sure.

to add on, the honey factory has been know recently to have heated competition with a new maple syrup workshop that just opened up recently, owned by... let me check my notes... weird, it is some sort of unknown anonymous company? we gotta look into that later. Anyway, for now, seeing as they are in heated competition, rumors are spreading that the maple syrup workshop might send in some people to push the peaceful protest into a riot to hurt the Big Chin Foundations. Be on the lookout for suspicious syrup crazed people looking to start something.

Be assured that other coworkers have their own administrators when they first start working until they gain enough experience to not need us anymore. As long as you don't say anything that we request you keep confidential, or don't speak about our presence to your coworkers in a public area, you can tell them about us.

Civilians, or hostiles on the other hand, keep us a secret from. You never know when there might be a spy hiding among the public.
>>

You won't be reprimanded heavily for disclosing our involvement to those on the force. You might lose a pont here or there, but overall, them knowing you're a rookie may save lives.

The public at large must not know you're under supervision, or they will compromise the chain of command to evade justice.

Keep in mind, if this is the County Honeycomb, State employees will be onsite to determine rationing and earmarks.
Big Chin may have it's own security, but the State assuredly does not. You're the thin blue line.

Anyway, Rick may be a prick, but he's still your shield-buddy. Try to get him to calm down a bit. Just because your job involves life and death doesn't mean we have to act like Black Metal musicians when we're not in the shit.

He does know he can get one that's customized right? He can get one with a blast shield that has a clear section in it for his eye? It might cost him some money but I think it's tax deductible since it's for law enforcement. Seriously Rick, it puts the shield wall in danger if you get hit the eye and fall while you are in formation.

Why is there a child here?! Why is this child and her cat here on the sight where a riot could break out!! Damn it all! Alright look we'll radio in another officer to get her cat, we need you here rookie. After that, ask her if her parents are in the protest or if they are somewhere else and if we can call someone to come pick her up as this isn't a safe place for a child to be
>>
No. 785444 ID: 143250

You got a job to do, you can't be distracted. But don't worry, we will send some non emergency police on their way to her location to help her out with that.

Tell her that some help should be arriving to her very soon. To keep her calm, there should be some candy and other stuff in the riot vehicle that is typically used to keep younger civilians calm during riot situations. Maybe give her something and tell her to wait somewhere away from the protest until the non emergency police arrives.

Oh dear... this is not what we needed at the moment. Cornhole, would you ask Rick to politely step down, this is just a lost child. If her father is in the protest then it's best you keep her safe for now. Have her taken back so she can call her father or mother to let them know she is safe.

Hold on, okay Sergeant Benton is en route to the location now. No sirens though, we don't want to rile up the crowd any more than they already are. Estimated arrival is two minutes. As for people throwing rocks at this cat, for now we need to focus on the child's safety. Once she is deemed safe, we can possibly go stop the people of the people near the tree. If you do chose to go bring your shield and do not draw your weapon. Understood?

Strange people can sit by trees if they like.

Tell them you're looking for a cat which might in danger.
Ask how long they have been here, and if they have seen a cat or a crowd of people near the tree.
If they haven't seen either, thank them and check for another tree that matches the description of 'Down the street, then turn left'.

Actually, it does. De minimus is about $5 in goods or services. This is why some places can offer on-duty officers free coffee and donuts without running afoul of the law.
An 'adventure' has no cash value.
Further, since this person is clearly delusional we can't assume criminal intent in the offer.

Sorry, it looks like we have some overzealous newbie administrators here. In general, you're going to want to deescalate situations and maintain a clear and level head.

Cornhole, before you put that bracelet on, we have a situation. There is someone who has a couple bombs inside of her, and they have been activated to go off. Do you know how to diffuse bombs. If so, here I'll try my best to describe them. They are voice activated, and they are remote activated. I think they are placed inside of someone through a knife. They also have a function to just light up remotely as well. Can you help out. If not, continue your quest to escape, sir, and forget you've heard me...

Hi, I'm with her. Good to meet all of you, The bomb is LITERALLY inside another person. It was put in by someone who knows a little more than she should about bombs and the human body to where it wouldn't be detected if it was put in properly. The bomb is also wired to explode via voice frequency, anyone speaks near her and it's kaboom. We need some assistance with taking it out and defusing it.

Yes, I am in radio communication with some higher ups. The signal has been intercepted by voices who needs my immediate help.

Here's my deal: let me help this person diffuse a bomb and save their lives through radio. If I succeed in helping diffuse it, I have proven myself heroric enough to take your quest, and I will tell the higher ups not to send anyone to look for me, and instead guide me through this quest. If I fail, it proves I am not the hero you are searching for in this quest, and I'll accept any consequence for failure.

Well technically we aren't even on a radio, as whoever those other guys were could hear us too. But she's telling the truth Cornelius. And you're not crazy, we're just visiting and hoping to get your assistance for a brief moment while we try and help our friend. We're here just to request your help and then we'll be on our way. Hold on a second I think that fellow might need some convincing.

Hey, Mokap? Can you hear me? Long story short, we just need to borrow your "knight" for a few minutes. If you know anything about defusing a bomb you could chime in, but looking at your profile you'd just as likely try to screw us over. But yeah he's not lying, he just has no idea what's going on at the moment

Okay Cornelius, we're ready to begin. We've already got her open and prepped to begin disarming, I be Mokap is secretly watching and listening with a bowl of popcorn. Also, Fortune Ana? please make sure you go over it as well, i'm, going to try and be as through as I can with this description, please make sure I don't miss anything.

There are four major compents to this bomb which have been carefully arranged around the girl's heart. The first is the explosive directly above her heat, it is a large block of C4 plastic explosive, I can't exactly tell how many kilograms it is but it is a large block, slightly bigger than her heart in a rectangle shape.

Slightly below the C4 block and the left of her heart is a device with two screws that are meant to be removed with a flat head screwdriver on it's cover. These screws are placed in the top right corner and the bottom left corner of this device's cover. The cover itself looks to be some kind of rectangle with slightly rounded edges and lines going diagonally from the top right corner near the screw its adjoining screw on the bottom left. It should be noted that this device is a rectangle with its long side going top to bottom. If I had to wager a guess I'd say this is the explosive reactor, this is what would recieve the charge to explode the C4 after triggered, but I may be wrong, for the sake of not knowing I will refer to this as Device 1. Attached to this device is a single short wire that is connected to the C4 block on its left side. On the bottom of this device as I have mentioned are two wires, one on the bottom right, and the bottom left. The wire on the bottom right connects to a device that is directly below the heart of the girl on its left side, I will call this Device 2. The wire on the bottom left is attached to a device that is at the very bottom of this bomb, this will be Device 3.

Device 2 is below the girls heart is roughly the same shape as the Device 1 but it has a few key differences. The first of which is this rectangle device runs with is long edge going left to right. This device also has a circular centerpiece with either holes or the glimmer of a round glass object. This device also has a shape that is similar to a large plus sign on it's cover. This plus sign is not quite proportionate however. On the right side of the plus sign, that side is wide and tall but it does not touch the left side of the device. The right side of the plus sign is short and skinny but it does touch the right side of the device. Both the top and bottom of this plus sign are roughly the same size, both touching the top and bottom of the device. Coming out of the right side of this device is a long wire that goes up and around the right side of the heart and connects to the right side of the C4. On the left side of this device are two wires, one on the top left, and the bottom left. The top left is connected to device 1

Device 3 rests at the bottom of the whole set up, below and to the left of device 2. It should be noted that this is the only device that does not appear to have any wires connecting it to the C4. Device 3 is a rectangle but it is the longest device though not as thick as device 1 and 2. It has 2 screws on its right and left sides on its cover, both of which need to be removed with a flat head screwdriver. The one one the right however looks a little funny it might not be a screw at all but its the best I can guess at right now. At the very center of device 3 is a squarish rectangle and it seems to be thicker on its top and right hand side. The wires running out of Device 3 are as follows, one on its right side that goes up to the bottom and slightly right of device 2. On its top left is a wire that also runs up to device 2 but it is connected to device 2 on its left side, keep in mind that above this wire is the one that is connected to device 2 and device 1. The final wire connected to device 3 runs up to device 1 on its bottom left side.

There are 6 wires in total. The longest wire runs from device 2 to the C4, the two second largest wires are attached like this "{device 2}----{device 3}" and "{device 1}----{device 3}." The second smallest wire goes "{device2-----{device3}" This is the wire that goes from device 3's right side to device 2's bottom right side. And finally the two shortest wires go as follow "{C4}--{device 1}" and "{device 1}--{device 2}"

Finally it should be noted that this is only what we can see after intially opening the girl, there may be other wires or devices below the others that we are unable to see.

All corrections and added details are bolded. Seems good. you got your left and rights mixed up mainly, but don't worry, I fixed them.

There are two bombs in the girl we will be working on: one in her chest, and one in her head. We will begin with the one in her chest.

There are four major components to this bomb which have been carefully arranged around the girl's heart. The first is the explosive directly above her heart, it is a large block of C4 plastic explosive, I can't exactly tell how many kilograms it is but it is a large block, slightly bigger than her heart in a rectangle shape.

Slightly below the C4 block and the right (our right) of her heart is a device with two screws that are meant to be removed with a flat head screwdriver on it's cover. These screws are placed in the top left corner and the bottom right corner of this device's cover. The cover itself looks to be some kind of rectangle with slightly rounded edges and six lines within it going diagonally from the top left corner near the screw to its adjoining screw on the bottom left. It should be noted that this device is a rectangle with its long side going top to bottom. Next to the cover on its right is a dot. Probably some kind of small light. Remember the Gameboy? how it had that light that represented the battery life? kind of like that. If I had to wager a guess I'd say this is the explosive reactor, this is what would recieve the charge to explode the C4 after triggered, but I may be wrong. for the sake of not knowing I will refer to this as Device 1. Attached to this device is a short wire on the top side of this device that is connected to the C4 block on its right side. On the bottom of this device as I have mentioned are two wires, one on the bottom right, and the bottom left. The wire on the left runs up to device 2 like the previous wire, but it is connected to device 2 on its right side, keep in mind that above this wire is that one wire that is connected to device 2 and device 1. Ok, we've successfully removed the cover, and inside we see 3 wires, a green, blue, and red wire.

The red wire is on the right, and is vertical and the shortest. It is connected to a small rectangular object with two small circles on it on the left and right. It is directly below the outside wired that is connected to the bottom side of part #2 (device 1, the Shrapnel.)

The blue wire is in the middle, and is the longest wire out of the 3. It looks like a backwards "L". The horizontal part wire is longer than the vertical part of the wire. It does not seem to be connected to anything, but the verticle part is directly below the wire that is connected to the right side of Part #3 (Device 2, the sound activator)

the green wire is the second longest on the left and above the horizontal part of the blue wire. it is mostly horizontal, as it very slightly goes vertical to its right. It seems the wire's left side is connected to a horizontal slanted rectangle with two circles in the left and right, and the wires right side is connected to a skinny horizontal rectangle with only one circle on the left. Directly to the left of the green wire is the other outside wire that connects to the bottom side of Part #3 (Device 2, the sound activator)

Is the sound activator the fuse? As that's what recieve the sound from the device we have open and then use that to trigger the detonation? If so then that would be the afformentioned blue wire. Would it be practical to make a cut and then another cut down the wire to ensure that they nevery touch as both ends have been cut short

And Mokap, you wouldn't believe us if we told you but this girl is still alive. If you would prefer to think of her as dead however go ahead, we would still need to disarm this bomb as any voices or sounds near the body would trigger it and possibly hurt anyone nearby.

The sound activator is not the fuse. Cornhole said the second part, the Shrapnel is the place where the fuse is connected to the explosive. Therefore, it is the red wire. But yeah, ask if we should make two cuts on that wire to lower the chance of them touching.

Ok, the red wire that was connected to the second part of the bomb is cut. What is the next step?

And I think I should note that once we have disabled the timer of this first bomb, we should pause from it before we work on the voice activation portion, and work on the second bomb I've mentioned, in case that the second bomb has a timer as well.

Great. Shrapnel fuse is now open.

To the left, from up to down looks to be 6 horizontal rows of circles (buttons/lights/something else) in/on a vertical rectangular design. The number of circles in each horizontal rows are in a pattern and goes like this:
1st row: 4 circles
2nd row: 5 circles
3rd row: 4 circles
4th row: 5 circles
5th row: 4 circles
6th row: 5 circles.
directly Above the circle rows is a horizontal rectangle with two circles on it on the right, and another horizontal rectangle with no circles on the left
The wire that connected from device #3 going upward into device #1 that we are currently working on leads up to a horizontal rectangle with 2 circles on it, and goes two paths from there. 1st path leads left below the rows of circles, and down out of device #1, continues down, and left into device #2. The other path the wire leads is upwards into a vertical rectangle with two circles, and continues upwards out of the device and into the C4.

Makes sense so far. Question before we start: when we see the fuse, should we be able to see the striker, percussion cap, spring and what not? and if not, how will we know which part of the fuse was weakened by the cut red wire before we blindly cut a hole in the fuse and not accidentally hit the striker and its evil friends?

Cornhole, possible problem. Due to a lack of necessary tools, we're defusing this bomb with only what we have. What our girl is using to make the intial cut is a heated knife to make the cut easier. But it just occurred to the that the heat off of the knife might activate the trigger and then we are fucked. Does the book say anything about heat interacting with the contraption?

Here is how it looks currently: there are two buttons on the left side, specifically on the top left, and bottom left. And on the right, there are three buttons, specifically on the top right, bottom right, and another button in between the two. The middle of the face of the device is of course the thing that looks like a speaker, probably the part that is supposed to receive sound. I Should also mention that we discovered a trapezoid shaped button on the back of the device. Any of this sounds like it may be in the book?

Cornhole, we figured out how to open the bomb. I'm going to tell you what we found inside the bomb:

in the middle looks to be the sound receiver. to the right of it looks like it is connected by three paths leading into it, probably a special wire leading to three different areas to the right, up right, and down right corners. Surrounding it is a bunch of rectangles, starting from the top left is a "L" that had been turned a little clockwise, then to its right is 2 horizontal rectangles, then one short rectangle. Next to it touching the right side of the device a large backwards "C" with I think a button that was used as a trap for the button puzzle we were trying to solve. It is touching the entire right side of the device. on the bottom to the left of the backwards "C is one small square, one triagnle that looks like it might have used to have been a square that had been cut from the top right to the bottom left, and rectangle with a large X on it, a skinny horizontal rectangle, and finally an "L" shape touching the left corner of the device with a small square sitting on the leg of the L. This "L" was also a trap if we had push that button from the cover. on the left of the device and to the right from the wire that leads to the C4, we see 4 wires: from down to up: a wire colored like a barber shop pole except instead of it being white and red, it is green and red, a red wire, a blue wire, and a light blue wire.

Inside the device, we also found a note explaining the following: "This is a reminder if the target is moved from the location of blast radius. In order to save this bomb from a pointless death, all you have to do is just cut the wire colored the same way that the water of a blender with a frog in is." I don't know whether to trust this note or not considering the type of person who set up this bomb in the person has trust issues, and this note could have been a way to kill her if she failed her mission or something. That is why I want to ask your opinion and if your book says anything other than what the note inside the device said.

Before taking the plunge in opening it, we looked at it through what I can call an x-ray. under the circle (which I assume is the sound receiver) the green and red wire is connected to a piece that is directly underneath the bottom part of the sound receiver, and continues towards the C4 wire. The red wire is connected to a piece that is to the right of the sound reciever, and goes through the middle of the sound reciever, and towards the C4 wire. The blue wire is connected to a piece to the right of the top of the sound receiver and north of the red wire. It goes under the top of the circle, and towards the c4. Finally, the light blue is connected to a piece to the right of all those wires, goes northwards, and then left, above the 3 wires, and the sound reciever, and all the way to the c4. It is the longest piece.

I know this device is different from how most looks, but Compared to how sound activator devices usually looks, does what I said about ours sound similar to what it says on the book.

The riddle we agreed on was "red" but as I said, even if it is the right answer, I don't know if we can trust this note. Does your book have a different answer, despite it being different from what we have?

True. Right now, I'm leaning towards cutting the red wire since it is the only wire that is actually connecting inside the receiver, as well as it being the most likely answer to the riddle. You want to go for it and cut that wire as well?

How ironic that the 3 most possible answers to the riddle "wire that is colored the same way that the water of a blender with a frog in is" could cause an explosion. (green and red: frog parts and blood. red: just blood. blue: just water when the blender hasn't turned on yet.)

And just to confirm, I am assuming that the light blue wire is that additional wire you are referring to cut, right? the one that goes around the sound activator?

Alright. We cut the light blue wire, nothing happened. No explosion. I take it we defused it, or is there another step?

I'm interested in knowing for safety: what is the blast radius of the bomb before we dispose of it?

Also, I want to say thank you, Cornhole. You were the only person we could find who was willing to step up to help save the lives of our bomb defuser's, and victim's.

Right now, the person who defused the bomb is facing almost impossible odds, and is feeling hopeless at times during her own adventure she was thrown into. It looks like you are facing a trial of your own from what I can understand. I only want to ask if you have any parting words of encouragement I can pass on to her to give her optimism? I think she could use some right now especially since some people had betrayed her recently.

Thank you Cornelius, you have remembered the face of
your father this day. As for words of optimism? I can provide that.

"Though the storms may assail you on all sides, and the waves may rock your ship, trust your sails and the men you have at your backs, trust that at the journeys end, your feet and the wind will guide you home."

By the way, Thank you as well, Mokap, as well for letting Cornhole help us with the bomb. I have one last request: May I speak with your father over the phone before we leave? I think we deserve that much after all the stress we went through with the bomb, especially since we almost died from almost taking your advice. Seems fair, right? And don't worry, it's nothing like telling him what you are up to or anything. You can even listen in to our conversation if you're unsure. Lets just say, we have business to discuss. Please?

...I see how it is... in that case....

Hello, I am a participator in the Root and Branches universe. I am calling because I am interested in purchasing one or two of your DLC contents for the Roots and Branches universe. Specifically, the the hand of life, and/or the ability to go back in time and undo any mistakes that we made (though for that one, we only want to fix one mistake). One thing I can offer in payment is some keys to other universes that we have received after completing some of Absurdity's other stories as rewards, or my Fortune Telling ability somehow. Would you be interested in making a deal? And I just want to say, this will be for either me, or Scarred Ana, not regular Ana.
