Our story begins with one Gynrann standing guard in the Town of Flowerhill, a quiet place that doesn't see much of the war on the front lines. Following the events caused by the inept actions one certain commander the proud warrior has been stationed as a guard in this quiet town to keep it safe from what ever could have threatened the peace it is known for.

My name is Maximillion, and i am of the Honorbound clan, and i have never been this fucking bored in my entire life.

I have only been here for a week and i feel it my metal bones that nothing will happen here as long as i live, which won't be long i am sure cause i will most likely succumb to my own boredom eventually.

What should i do?

I could just abandon my post and go to the bar and grab a pint, or several. This post is rather humiliating for someone of my skill, just look at my equipment; A twig of a spear because they didn't have anything that fit me, a wall mounted decorative shield, and a hastily forged breastplate.

However as much as my clan wouldn't blame me for abandoning my post, i can find honor in my assigned duty and i am sure i will be praised for even in the face of soul sucking boredom i held out. But in the end, tomorrow's shift won't be any more fun.

Please suggest an action..

I know it's boring, but I just know as soon as you leave, trouble will show up. For now, just people watch, and make fun of them in your head on the ridiculous things they might be doing.

Collect "Taxes" and buy yourself and your colleagues some better gear before the local gang punches through your sticks and stones and raids the town regardless of your dilligence.

You can't abandon your post just because you're bored. Continue to stand around and do nothing.

You could compromise and get a book or something. Stay at your post and just not be quite as vigilant as you ought.

Do you have anyone to share this post with? Some company might make it more bearable. A book would also be good. In any case I wouldn't worry about it too much, you're the protagonist, so something interesting is bound to happen to you sooner or later.

What do you take me for, some battle horny barbarian from Warpath? Besides i am the only unfortunate one to get this craptacular gear due to them not expecting some douche stationing a proud honorable warrior in practically the safest place in the kingdom, nothing is going to happen.

I take it they never looked the same before? either someone has a huge family of identical brothers (unlikely), or someone is using dark magic to clone someone, or themself. This requires investigation as a guard.

Is there a festival going on or are these people dirt poor? I mean, are the clothes the same color and design and stuff?

Make a game of it, try to learn to tell them apart. It'll help alleviate your boredom and it's probably an important skill for you to have anyway.

holy shit you are right, as much as i want to say that Humans and Elves are basically the same they have never been a complete copy.

In my asumption that this place might just be the place that invented the word safe i didn't consider that something might be happeneing, it is my job to investigate

It's worse than we thought. They don't even know they've been duplicated. I doubt there is a specific law pertaining to this specific situation. What laws can we generalize to fit the situation cause I have a hard time believing this should be legal.

"what are your names, profecion and residence" I demand

the trio answers in perfect chorus again; "I am Bob Carlson" however when they say where they live their other details they speak over each other and it becomes rather unintelligible of what they said.

Maybe we can get a clue if we find the real 'Bob Carlson'. Since the Dwarf is uninfected ask if he recognizes that name.

Okay, NOW you may draw your weapons.

Regular civilians aren't so stupid as to simultaneously declare they have the same name and then talk over each other about their jobs and where they live. You would at least hear some gossip or a few schoolgirl giggles.

Talk to the dwarf. Make some weapons. Kill some robots (these mindless clones).

"Are you the only Bob Carlson?"

Okay, before you go stabbing everything like a crazy Guinea Pig consider why this town is so peaceful, it could be because pretty much everyone is the same person. ask the dwarf if its normal for everyone to look the same.

Starting to look less like an illusion and more like a spell has been cast on YOU to make every humanoid look the same, so that if one of them commits a crime you are far less capable of chasing them down or giving a description for a wanted poster.

Go ask the dwarf if the three people you're with are all wearing the same clothes and look identical aside from ears.

Highly recommend following one of them, but do ask the dwarf smith if he notices the same problem.

Confirm that he is also not racist.
