Beautiful, graceful, and desperately sad are the Canvas.
They are the shattered remains of the souls of children who grew up too fast.
The more elaborate the horns, the more traumatic the childhood of the poor soul that that particular Canvas embodies.
They don’t eat. They don’t drink. They don’t die.
They just survive, on a plane diagonal to ours and very close to what could be considered Hell.

This is the story of one Canvas.
She is named Tiana.

(this quest will be largely text based, with visuals provided only when needed.)

Tina currently lives in an empty wasteland. The lands of the Canvas are bleak and dark and only one color: grey. The Canvas themselves nearly blend in, just barely darker than the world around them.
Tiana is alone.
You, as Tiana, are prowling the landscape. There isn’t much else you can do. What will you do?
1. Go to the faraway dead tree
2. Stay where you are.

2. examine your surroundings a bit better before scooting along

You are facing north. If you look east, you see the dead tree. If you look west, you see an empty, featureless plane with nothing interesting to look at other than an empty, oil-filled pool. If you look north, you see mountains. If you look south, you see a cave.
You:
1. Go north
2. Go south
3. Go east
4. Go west

2, go south and explore the cave.

You turn south, your hooves clattering on the rocky landscape. Puffs of dust burst up, lingering in the air for a moment long after you've moved on.
[i]How strange,[i/] you think. You don't know why you think that's strange. You've never known anything to be comparable to consider it strange.
That, too, is strange.
The cave is also strange.
It has a perfectly square entrance, like a door. (a door? you don't know what a door is. what is a door?) The door is framed with glowing white runes in a script you can't read.
The cave looks completely dark inside.
Do you:
1. Go in
2. Turn around, and go a different direction.

something white in a land of grey, that sounds like something that's worth taking our time

From now on, use your horns to scratch symbols into the war-torn slabs you find. Slowly, map out the local areas with indicators and instructions.

Find your way out of this country. You've got nothing better to do.

Also, don't go in the cave yet, it's dark and scary down there.

You cautiously make your way into the cave.
As you traverse deeper into the darkness, bits of your body begin to respond to something in the air. Strips of white outlining your horns and the curves of your fleshy mane and tail turn white and glow.
Something tells you that this is important. You note that for later.

After a few minutes of walking, you come to a fork in the path. Do you:
1. Go left
2. Go right
3. Turn back, and go a different direction.

Mark the exit. Go in the direction of sunset.
