An otherwise quiet night, in Traverse City. 2083. Beneath the gentle hums of passing automobiles, a possible catastrophe begins to take place. Several 'Patriots' storm the Nachigawa office building, brandishing weapons, they capture several hostages, as the police close in, surrounding the building. Police attempt to infiltrate the building undetected, but are easily overwhelmed by the terrorist cell, which they discover to be heavily cybernetically enhanced. With officers, media personnel, and office workers still in danger, the Home Defense force debates on what to do, and begin to give into panic.. Unaware that a team has already been dispatched, by powers beyond their knowledge.

"WE ARE THE INCORPORATED TRUTH! WE HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF THIS BUILDING AND IT'S OCCUPANTS FROM THE DOGS OF THIS COUNTRY IN ORDER TO GAIN A FOOTHOLD TO STRIVE TOWARD OUR GOALS OF JUSTICE! THE GOVERNMENT OF YOUR NATION HAS BEEN GIVEN OUR DEMANDS!"

A captured cameraman from Channel 11 trembles as he is forced to broadcast the leader's words to the world.

"IF OUR DEMANDS ARE NOT MET WITHIN THE GIVEN TIME, WE WILL BEGIN TO EXECUTE THE OFFICE WORKERS WE HAVE HERE, ONE BY ONE, AND CAST THEIR BODIES OUT THE WINDOWS FOR THE POLICE BELOW!!"
The man motions to the hostages behind him, who flinch. They are stripped of their clothing, some having been beaten and tortured already, for 'retribution' As the hostage's hopes dwindle, out to the last.. Somewhere not too far, a comm device snaps to life for the first time in over an hour, and a tired, lazy voice comes through.

Enko "Hm!.. You hear that, Jacy..? Might want to get a move on, Boss."

Overlooking the Nachigawa building, a man stares, unmoving, down the scope of a long distance rife. He blinks, for the first time in over that same hour, as water droplets begin to fall, obscuring his view.

Enko: "Forecast didn't say nothin' about rain, Boss.."

The man sighs, irritated.

Jacy: "I heard him loud and clear. Cut the chatter, Enko. Shriver, are you in position yet?"

Shriver: "Yeah. I'm in place. They've got no idea I'm here.. Amateurs."

Jacy: "I said to cut that chatter! Don't forget. This entire operation is being monitored. Keep the stakes in mind, people.. I've just reached my position. We're a go. Just like we talked about, boys. Don't stray unless you have to. We're a go, people! LET'S MOVE!!"

The door explodes outward with my kick, a hail of wood debris, and the door itself flies forward, just as I do, rifle raised.

Oh? Looks like they weren't expecting company. One of the men has an early military grade targeting device, replacing one of his eyes, along with an early military cybernetic arm. Although they might be older, they're still quite dangerous if not handled properly. I see no visible augmentations on the other. I need to figure out which one of these guys is the bigger threat.

I'd say shotgunner because he doesn't even need to aim, just point it generally towards you. I'd say I'd probably be best to stay silent and not reveal ourselves until the last minute, but I suppose it's too late for that...is the gun at least silenced?
>>
No. 725896 ID: 094652

Use the veteran as a meatshield while you stab his eye out. If he has more augmentations (which I'm sure he focused on), they'll stop the pellets from penetrating him and killing you. Be sure to throw an EMP now if you have one, and if not then stab him in the armpits to keep him from using his tech abilities to outsmart you.
>>
No. 725899 ID: 398fe1

They can both take you out easily if they line up a shot.
Shoot the guy with the targeting eye first because it's faster to aim with a pistol than a shotgun.

The vet's eye flashes bright red, and his pistol flies up just as three rounds pierce through his head. His aug shatters to pieces as my bullets whiz through him. Even a moment more and he doubtlessly would have gotten off several shots. This guy was a pro. The other guy.. not so much. He fumbles his shotgun up, still recovering from the shock of my entry. Probably hasn't even noticed his pal is dead yet.

With three rounds to his central mass, he crumples onto the floor, still wide eyed. I guess he'll keep that look..

My internal comm whispers to me, Shriver's typically arrogant sounding voice comes through.

Shriver: "They heard that, Jacy.. Sloppy, sloppy. Three more are on their way."

>is the gun at least silenced?

The gun has a built in silencer. The gun can't NOT be silenced, actually.. They must have heard the door crash.

Jacy: "Save your critique, Shriver. We're doing this all at once. Wait until I arrive. Arnold, get ready to catch some stragglers. They'll be running soon.."

I continue to the door at the end of the hall, stepping over the two terrorists. The door into the cubicles is already smashed.. Probably by the officers that already stormed the place. Contact was cut off from them..

Looks like I've found out why..

A hear a door on the other end of the hall slam open, and I duck into cover into a cubicle. I hear three men storm in, and do the same. They yell to eachother, and attempt to yell to the two men I just eliminated.

Cubicles won't stop bullets. Peg the one out of cover then relocate and try to get a fix on the second one.
>>
No. 726271 ID: 2f5847

Peg the first one from a crouch, then go prone. Let them use their ammo.
>>
No. 726273 ID: 094652

You have the advantage, so wallhack your shots through the flimsy cubicle walls and hit the guards with a surprise attack, then barge through another cubicle wall and stick to cover to avoid detection while you gun them down.

Do we have any flashbangs or the modern equivalent?

If so, that'd be plan A.

They don't know where you are, or even that you're in the room. They're forced to advance slowly, and clear the room, looking for intruders or their forces.

Given that they're not pros, you'll get an opportunity to ambush them. As they try.

>Flashbangs or modern equivalent

I was outfitted with two, actually. Can't wait until I can choose a loadout for myself again.. I toss one toward the clearly surprised man, who is woefully exposed out of cover.

I take a few shots and pick him off just before the flashbang goes off. As predicted, his buddies begin to fire toward my position. Too bad for them I'm already on my stomach, relocating. This vest is chafing. Why would I even need a bulletproof vest? Ridiculous. A bullet whizzes a bit too close by my head. Whoops. I can almost hear one of them shouting. The shooting slows down.

And just like that. It's over. I hear them talking.

Guy 1 : "Did we get 'em!?"

Guy 2 : "Shut up! They'll get a fix on you! Keep quiet and start looking! STAY. ALERT."

Dammit. Who taught these guys to not let their guards down. Why can't it just be easier?

A familiar buzz sounds through my head, followed by a familiar voice.

Shriver: "Ha ha WOW! Are you DEAD? They shot like, a million rounds. Are you SURE you were ever a soldier??"

Jacy: "SHUT UP, SHRIVER!"

Guy 1: "HEY! Did you hear that?! Someone said something!"

God DAMMIT. That wasn't on internal comms!! Aaaugh I'm still getting used to this thing! It's fine. They still don't know where I am.. It's fine. EVERYTHING IS FINE.

Rattle the cubicle wall from the side and immediately switch to a new cubicle. Take ONE peek and wallhack blindfire into the nearest enemy target.

I probably would have suggested shooting EVERYONE while they were blinded by the flashbang, but this is ok too.

Alright no more loud stuff. Try to take each one out silently until the room's clear or you find some cover.

Look, who's the professional soldier here? This is all part of a longer, underlying plan!! I am a tactical genius, that simply thought this far ahead! This is going PERFECTLY, and I am looking FANTASTIC. I mean, I'll just go to jail for the rest of my life if I fail today! No big deal! HA HA HA. HA HA !

I give the cubicle I'm behind a little kick before quickly crawling away. As I expected, it is immediately covered in another hail of gunfire.. As the shooting slows once more, I peek ever so slightly out of my new cover, and take a shot just as one of them is going to start yelling something again.. The bullet flies through his open mouth, and out the back of his throat. Ouch..

He panics, trying desperately to clutch at his new, increasingly deadly wound as he falls back, accidentally letting loose a flurry of gunfire.. Right into his friend. Both of them collapse to the ground, and after a moment, stop moving... See? It was all planned. Totally, totally planned.

A familiar buzz fills my head...

Enko : "Boss. They're panicking. Starting to move. There's two left..."

I make a very quick glance around the corner of the door the men came out of. Sure enough I see the terrorists who had been appearing on the news, along with several hostages.. Looks like they're holding them at gunpoint.. They must be planning to execute them the second they see any hostiles coming.. Damn..

Enko has a clear shot into the room they're held up in.. and Shriver should be in position too..
>>
No. 726570 ID: 2f5847

I don't know Shriver's specialties or whatnot, but Enko should shoot for the hostage taker's head. Jacy should stay low so as to not catch said bullet.

Be nice to get someone alive, so that this isn't a dead end.

Enko can snipe the one that's likely to see you, and you can eliminate the guy who's not looking your direction.

Just gotta synch up your actions.
>>
No. 726581 ID: 094652

I guess you should use up your last flashbang, then shoot one while Enko snipes the other. Question is, what sequence of events features the highest success rate?
>>
No. 726583 ID: 2f5847

>>726581
If Shriver's near enough to melee takedown on the SMG guy, do that. If not, Jacy should focus fire on his arms and gun.

Either way, no one move until Enko takes the first shot.
