Welcome to the year 2268. The earth is no longer the one of present times, instead ruled by massive corporations. Information, bleeding edge hard and software, and genetic manipulation are the major focuses of man nowadays. Due to the use of biochips and enhancements, the worlds old reliance on technology has changed vastly. Those who cant afford the latest and greates implants and mods are considered the poor and working class, while the rich are closer to cyborgs or genebred immortals than humans. But soon the world will be shifted and thrown on its head as ancient power returns to it.

You are a human, genebred or otherwise, during these times naturally, though what you are and what you do are up to you.

You used to be a slum dweller, living in the deep recesses of your corp. It was a hard life to say the least, one where cunning was just as important as brutality. Raised on cheap mods and cheap tech, you developed a tough physique and flexible style. Switchknives, machine pistols, knucle dusters, they are just as important as circuits and tech.

You werent a slum dweller for long though. Through a lucky break you ended up an Agent for...

Devachi Genetics is your corp. Born from the ruins of old russia and many other former countries, it is the leader in mods and genetic engineering. Having picked you up for a variety of reasons both obvious and unknown, they then turned you into an agent. Many mods were installed, both requested and unrequested to make you superior to an average human. The mods given to you ranged from minimal to major, including strength enhancements, an advanced biochip known as the Jundai 8, and many more including:

>Pick two
>Agility boosters granting greater speed and flexibility
>Military-tier Brainchip, allowing much offensive data to be sent straight to your mind
>Biosteelclaws, finger and toenails enhanced to be claws, easily able to tear through most body armors
>Data Splicers, inbuilt remote ports allowing control of unguardes technology
>Hologram Producers, allow up to 4 solid holograms to be created with complete control over each

You have two special implants, at least for you they are. Agility boosters and Data Splicers, meant to fit your style of combat as an agent. Close range combat has been your thing since you were born in the slums, and Devachi obviously knew this. You were given the choice of the following:

(Pick One ranged and two melee)
Melee:
>Horizon Vibrosword
>Jubilee Plasma Knife
>Kivilon Twin Shortswords
>Viper Zipwhip

Zipwhip, plasma knife, and the pistol(s).

A crazy future-whip will benefit most from speed / finesse mods, the knife will also play to those strengths and plasma means it can be used as a cutting tool, and the pistols are the fastest thing to move around and bring to bear with speed mods.

Plus, yes, all of those should be small enough to be concealable.

A Jubilee plasma knife, Viper zipwhip, and two Goliath Machine Pistols. You dont just give someone such good tech without expecting something out of them, and the corps did expect. They had you do alot of work to pay them back for their "gratitude" since they took you off the streets. Personally you were indifferent and still are. What matters is that you make cash and live nice, what you do from their is your choice. But now its time to finish things up and move onto the world:

Nah. Those get in the way from moving super fast, and whipping the whip.

Medium height, dark hair? Dunno, I always find physical descriptions hardest. I suppose we need some weird, circuitry looking glowy tattoo somewhere. That's mandatory for cyberpunk, right? Not that you'd normally see if when we're in our agent narc suit.

I can almost buy silly ears on an otherwise serious killer. It's funny.

>Look almost fully human
well since we're working for a genetic corp I say we look mostly human but we have a few little perks. We can change the color of our skin, eyes, and hair whenever we feel the urge to do so and if we're hooked up to a computer or whatever we can even change only certain sections of our skin/eyes/hair to create instant tattoos or markings. One of the unwanted mods that we got is also an extremely high metabolism that renders most drugs and poisons useless unless taken in a vary large dose. Which means we eat a hell of a lot more then our size would suggest and it's damn near impossible to get drunk.

As for looks, we have a swimmers build, short neck length hair, and are around 6'1" 6'2".

truth be told I've always loved the look of practical armor more the other crap always makes me think of a wannabe trying to hard.

As for what I pick... I really love the 4th one because of the xenomorph look it has going and it looks more Biotech then the rest but I feel that the second pic is the most practical out of all of them. Could we get both?

I mean we can wear 4 when we go on missions where blending in is secondary and and number 2 as our normal uniform? Think of it as 2 is or normal suit and 4 is our riot gear for those really tough missions.

Might as well surf the dataverse and see whats going on, maybe find a holomovie or some music while you do so. After a bit you find some music to listen to, and turn it on while you surf datastreams. https://youtu.be/p6j8fuvQICI

You find sales for food, info, mods, weapons, music, videos, lots of things. After a while you plunge deeper, and your mind delves into the digital network to check out the corps. As expected its mostly just propaganda and talk, all hiding the real stuff.

Soon you break out a chemstick and light it, putting it to your blue lips and taking a deep breath of the soothing smoke. While its nice to just smoke, listen to music, and surf the net, your feeling a bit more...excitable. After checking the secure dataverse and making sure youve got no jobs you bust out the hard stuff...

Well youve got nothing better to do, so why not do some drugs. You take out a needle of Airolin, and after doing some prep you inject it perfectly into your veins. The purple liquid flows all throughout, and then causes your veins to glow all over your body. You shudder as pleasure overwhelms you, and lay back on your bed as the hallucinations set in.

Soon the air is filled with many wisp and lines of smoke and color, and you lay back with a relaxed smile as you watch all the things in your vision. You eventually see some of it curiousky flow right towards you, and casually you lift up your hand and cause it to form into a sphere without a thought. You let out a giggle, and play with your multicolor sphere before splitting it in two and watching them spin around.

Ahh nothings better than a relaxing drug trip you feel. Eventually you look up to see the wisp floating around you specifically, making many lines and ripples in the air.

You know what, its probably best to just relax. You lay back and close your eyes, letting the hallucinations stay on the darkness of your lids as you drift off to sleep. During your sleep the hallucinations take the form of strange dreams, images of spheres and cubes of strange shapes and makes, and a variety of other things you have never really seen before. The last thing you see is a vivid golden orb before suddenly everything goes black...and you wake up.

You open your eyes slowly, your biochip immediately activating and showing images of the dataverse, information, news feeds, and alerts. As you recieve the data though you look at the time...and nearly freak out as you snap awake. Its been a full two days?! Thats impossible! You almost shoot upwards, but as soon as you do your head smacks into a sphere of liquid(gas, solid?)material that explodes around you. You take a deep breath suddenly, and look around as your vision becomes engulfed in colored smoke. You cough loudly, letting out a curse before waving away the smoke in front of your face.

When you can finally see again you notice that the room seems alot more...vivid to say the least. Its as if all the colors turned into the most extreme and vibrant shades and they could become.

You begin to ask yoursekf what the hell is going on, but then you get an alert that you have a mission! What should you do?

Well all this craziness will have to wait, you dont just NOT do your job after all. You blink and the message pops up in your vision. Luckily the job seems to be a quick one since they decided to send a message instead of an executive order. Its from a Contractor with the Devachi corp encryption, though which one you'll never know. It reads:

"Agent Rive. Head to Daylight court and retrieve a new biochip from our generous holders at the baxter building. Please leave the package with our pick up team. Your transport will arrive 15 minutes from now."

Thankfully its just a quick retrieval mission, so theres not much to worry about. Transport will most likely be a hovercraft, so at least you wont have to worry too much about getting in. Quickly you gather your gear, feed your pets, and head upstairs to meet your ride.

Alright its time to go. You pull on your synthweave armor, which just looks like fitting high quality clothing, and grab the rest of your gear. Plasma knife on one leg, Zipwhip on the other, and both pistols hidden in chest pockets with extra ammunition stored away, your fully equipped for a run. You hit the pad for your door and walk into the hall, before quickly moving up the steps to the top of the building.

You walk out of the building into the cold night air, showing you've been out for a long time. You can see pretty far in all directions, the sky filled with all sorts of skyscrapers and mega towers inside of the Dome. Luckily Devachi decided if its agents needed quick use and pick up they would live in high quality megatowers, and normally near the top. Thats one of the few things your actually thankful for...

As you stand in the winter air, your clothing keeping you nice and toasty, you hear the distinct hum of the hovercraft. With the corps trademark symbol, it comes to a stop a meter above the ground while its side doors open up. You leap inside and buckle in as it takes off...

You look up to see a featureless orange helmet attached to a ligh grey and black heavy coat, your informant. You give him/her/it a smirk and lay back in the seat.

"Well im here. Are you gonna tell me the job or just keep staring?"

There is silence for a few more seconds before he begins speaking.

"At the Kalon Building-"

"I thought it was Baxter." You state matter-of-factly as you cut him off. He utterly ignores you and continues speaking. Typical.

"-Orion systems has developed a new biochip, the Nyx 52-83. As they are unknowingly holding it for us we wish for you to retrieve it for us."

You begin to ask a question about whats so special about this biochip, but decide against it. Not like they would inform you of much, and its most likely a new agent or military chip. You nod to the agent, and then lay back as the hovercraft carries you to Orion systems.

Soon the hovercraft lands and the doors open up to show a giant green landing pad, and a set of double doors ahead. As you hop out you hear, "The security cameras have already been disabled, and a map uploaded to your chip." Before the craft takes off. You blink and a 3d map pops up in your vision, showing that the biochip is four floors down.

Well they disabled the cameras and subsystems, so how are you going to go about this?

Though you would love to go in guns blazing, there are four whole floors and a world of possibilities between you and your target. Besides your still a bit high(the smoke stays right at the edges of your vision)and you wouldnt want to screw up in middle of combat. Taking out one of your pistols you put a silencer on it, and walk towards the set of doors.

The doors part automatically, revealing a sterile white interior, three elevators, and two guards with their backs to you. Armed with G8 Orion assault rifles and wearing scanner helmets they are a bit more equipped technologically than most guards, though this wont save their lives. The one on the left turns in time to see his buddies brains blown out, before recieving a bullet to the face and crumpling to the floor. You step over them uncaringly, and start to decide on how your traveling.

The elevator can be switched off, and you dont feel like crawling through a vent unless you have to. As such you step over the growing puddles of blood and walk to the stairs, annoyingly having to physically open the white door to reach the stairway. You walk into the hall, green lines and symbols flowing through the whiteness, and make a quick survey of the area. You seem to be in the clear for now, so with pistol in one hand and whip in the other you begin moving down the steps.

The walk is slow as you make sure not to make too much noise, but luckily the smoke has receeded and you feel fully conscious of the situation. You near floor 3, one above the location of the biochip, when suddenly you hear stomping and the sound of metal above. You look up to see multiple armed guards, and verbally curse when they look down.

"There she is! Open fire!"

You whip out both pistols and stand out cover, opening fire as soon as you do. Two of the guards dive into cover, while the unlicky third takes a hail of bullets to the chest and head, dropping him instantly. The other two begin firing on you from cover, their armor piercing bullets taking chunks out of the wall. You hear footsteps from the stairwell, and quickly react.

Dashing out of cover, you lock onto both targets and fire before their rifles are up. Two simultaneous headshots later and your clear to move. You dash down another hallway as alarms blair all around, focusing instead on the map in front of your face. You can either take the stairs or reach the fourth floor from the elevator shaft. Taking out your plasma knife you find the vent that will lead straight ti floor four. You slash and melt through it like hot butter, before crawling inside and letting yourself fall down. You grip your whip, and as soon as you bust out the other side you whip it around.

You scan the odd ancient looking room, and decide its probably best to be cautious...mostly. You reload a pistol, grab one of the thrumming orbs since it looked nice, and then take out a lighter. You light a book on fire and then throw it into a shelf, letting it set the room ablaze before turning towards the metal door.

Suddenly the doors burst open, and you duck just in time to avoid a black substance flying over your head. It hits a wall and blows a hole in it, revealing the open air outside. Confused you look back to see a man, dressed from head to toe in purple robes and wielding a glowing staff. As if this day couldnt get weirder. As he stands on the buckled doors your chip beeps, showing the biochip is in his head! He then slams his staff down, and blue spikes shoot at you out of nowhere! Its probably best you got out of here stat. Your not sure what shields and weaponry he has but your massively underequipped to deal with him. You back away from him and back towards the hole as he prepares to channel...whatever he is channeling. Meanwhile a distress signal is sent to the hovership, who's eta is 30 seconds. You open fire on the man again in an attempt to kill or harm him, and your bullets merely bounce off his shield. Cursing to yourself, you find that your at the exact edge of the hole. Looking back you see a miles long drop to your doom, and then look up to see the ship closing in.

You then see that the weird mage, energyslinger, whatever he is, has a hand facing you. Before you can think there is a pulse, and everything in the room, you included, is blown out of the hole and high into the air. Immediately you are hit by an sensation of weightlessness as you start to fall in slow motion.

You can see the hundreds of hover flying by as you begin your descent. You look up just in time to see the hovership speeding down towards you...before everything speeds back up. Suddenly your falling and falling fast! You flail your arms as you begin moving towards the ground at a sickening rate.

Though your moving fast the hovercraft is faster, and suddenly its right next to you! You manage to grab onto the hand of your informant, and your pulled aboard the ship to recover. As you take a few calming breaths you feel a hand on your shoulder.

"Mind telling me what it was I faced back there? Any details?"

He remains silent, and you lay back and wait until he speaks again. "Thank you for your assistance agent. Your combat files have been documented for study, and we shall contact you at a later date."

What you do know is that you didnt stand a chance, and even for an agent your most likely expendable when it comes to facing an opponent like that. In front of you was no longer your cat. Instead there was a hulking feline-like humanoid wearing a skull robe. Pretty sure our cat food bill just went up by a factor of ten. On the plus side through, we probably won't need a liter box?

Test if this thing is really your cat. Pet / scratch him just the way he likes.

"Um...I recognize the name. Your form though..." On hearing that he looks down at himself, and seems a bit surprised.

"Woops sorry! Let me just..."

Suddenly his form starts to shift, and in a puff of smoke theres someone else standing there, a boy with purple hair, cat ears, and some longer than average hair. Also he is looks FAR more human(other than the wiskers)and has a mischevious smile one his face. He then spreads his arms with a smile.

"Tada! All better right?"

We have a pet shapeshifter? Dang, that's useful. I figured the transformation was a one time thing.

...be flustered now that he's cute. You are not attracted to your pet. That's not how this is supposed to work.

Pet him.

...Dan, I don't suppose you can tell me what the hell is going on? I am apparently very high or very confused.

I hate to be the nerd who points things out 100 posts after character generation, but Russian last names are gendered. "Petrov" would be a last name for a dude, with "Petrova" being its female counterpart.

Your a bit stunned and flustered by your now cute pet. Naturally your not attracted, but he is cute. You let out a sigh and put a hand out as you sit back down.

"Come here dan."

Dan skips over to you heartily and lays on your lap, and you scratch behind his cat ears. Your rewardes with a purr as he just lays there while you contemplate whats going on in your life.

"Dan, am I high?"

Dan just lets out a purr, showing hes more focused on your petting right now. Well...maybe you should touch the orb...

Maybe you should look at the news or whatever. You raise your hand a hologram comes up, showing the latest reports. Naturally the news is controlled by the corps, so if theres anything really weird going on they are not letting too much on. You sit back and listen to corporate propaganda while petting your cute cat, and look down with a slight smile.

"You know you're alot cuter in this form."

Your answered by another purr, and you just sit back and decide to search for mods at the same time. Meanwhile you contemplate doing some jobs freelance until your next mission.

Try talking to Dan, first. See if he somehow knows what happened to him. Or what he can do. (Like we should probably find out in character we have access to black magic before going on another run).

You begin browsing illegal body modifications while scratching your pets ears. He purrs before sitting up suddenly with a smile.

"So how was your day master?" He says cheerily, oblivious to how it went.

You lay your headback with a sigh, the screen moving with you. "Its been annoying to say the least Dan. I went on a supposedly easy mission, and got fucked over by some guy throwing black balls and shit. Hopefully the corp doesnt disapprove too much after all my services, or we may soon be living somewhere else."

Dan cocks his head and opens his palm, a ball of blackness popping up. "He was throwing this?" You almost immediately move away, looking at him wearily. Your cat shapeshifting is one thing, him throwing explosive spheres is another. You glance at your nearby pistol, which Dan must not know is dangerous, then at him.

"Nyaa? Whats wrong?"

"Nothing Dan. Just get rid of the ball...now."

Dan lets out a saddened sigh and it dissipates almost instantly, causing some of the tension to leave the air. You sit back down and begin petting your cute catboy again. "Dan, dont do that again unless I say so ok?" He lets out a reassuring purr, and you go back to shopping for mods.

>Bullet Dispenser: stores an autoloader directly inside of your body
>Emp Generator: Does exactly what it says. Since most people have electronic chips in their head its quite obvious why its illegal
>Morphible Chip Code: Causes your chips registered data and codes to change at will
>Poison Injector: Poison injectors stored directly in fingers. Obviously dangerous
>Wings: Literal Wings that actually fly. The most expensive modification by far

Note to self: be nice to kitty. He's kind of naive.

Heeey, if he can make black balls, can he do the shield thing?

>emp
Does that temporarily shut down chips or fry them? Is it directional or area? ...although it doesn't solve our problem from before if we don't know if an EMP will penetrate shields.

How much do these cost?

Curriculum includes explosions, summoning circles, demonic transformation, aliens, more explosions, exploding aliens, guns that summon exploding demonic aliens, sexual education with familiars, and actual field operations under live fire (obviously excluded for the rich students). These new nuclear-proof shields don't really justify any of this, but you'll just have to do most of the shooting yourself.

Half of the students are just Devachi's latest clone soldiers with haphazardly spliced genetics from the corpses of identified "wizards". Obviously, the survival rate is extremely low (0.4%) and their natural life expectancy is pitiable (9 years) but your company doesn't really care, especially since their spies report that they are currently #1 in Mage Cloning. The other half are children of Devachi's employees who have been "temporarily relocated for boarding school", all of whom are confirmed drug users. Some of the parents sold their children, others were murdered because of their expendability, and the CEO's brother has been dead for five years.

Your job is to turn these kids into a regular fighting force. You can rewrite the curriculum and aim to protect these children, or strive to build the next generation of shareholders.

You lick your dry lips as you finish looking st mods, waving them away as you take your hand off your pet. He springs up and looks at you with a smile. In response you give him a soft kiss on his forehead, before laying down on your bed and thinking about what to do. Maybe some weapons and armor would be fun to find, or missions. Better yet, you might as well do some more drugs! Nonchalantly you break out a chemstick before Dan light's it(earning him a wary glance and then a pat)and begin smoking it. Maybe you should relax again...
