Concentrated deposits located on three planets, orbital plane I-8 around binary system Q-31/7|.

Beginning self-check before full commencement of mission.

Harvester 9.
Objectives: Harvest cruor deposits. Return to Hub.
Restrictions: None.

All three planets have deposits requiring harvest. Currently equidistant from all three locations.

Site 1. Flora and fauna presence confirmed. Apparent technological development: none.

Site 2. Planetbound civilisations detected. Apparent technological development: intrastellar.

Site 3. Interstellar civilisation detected. Probability of recognition of harvester unit: high.

Unable to determine further information at 10 unit range. Further reconnaissance appears unnecessary. No significant anomalies or discrepancies detected. Typical harvesting procedures can follow.

Which site to target first...

start small and work up, That way their's less of a chance of the other planets bothering you. so site 1 and work your way up.

Site 1, increased difficulty of finding viable deposits but greater yield due to lack of exploitation.
Please provide information on objective substance and example of use.

Site one.
Requesting details on defensive capabilities, average in-atmosphere speed, and such.
What would likely be Site Three's inhabitant's reaction upon recognizing you?

As this suggestion suggests, it really depends on the nature of your process. If it's something destructive, or if you're something which others might be hostile towards, you definitely want to start on the planet which won't resist you, at site 1. However, if you are capable of playing nice with people and their planets then you might have better luck going to site 2, where you could potentially get some assistance.

Start with site 2. If it can support a technological civilization, there may be other resources which would speed up the harvesting process at site 1, or make a covert approach to site 3 possible at all.

Site 1.

Exterminate indigenous populace.

On the other hand, we might not want to be burdened with a load of minerals or whatever if, upon contacting planet 3, they attack us or something. Seems like we should first ascertain whether they're hostile.

Is returning to base a costly action? Or can you just warp there willy-nilly?

In any case, send off a report or something - I'm assuming you can do that, FTL comms or no. Tell them what you've found.
