I...I don't know, actually. I was a stupid little kid when I first got here- they promised food and I didn't ask questions. I've been trapped ever since.

They've done a lot of surgeries, given me a lot of medication, put me in a couple comas. About a year ago they knocked me out for a week and when I woke up I was stuck with Cupcake here. Apparently I was their first "success."

Wait, so, is Cupcake intelligent, or do you just have, like, a regular snake for a tail, because that'd be kind of freaky if it's the latter.

Also, how'd you almost escape last time?

My sister Tyra's in the room next to me, and there's two other people in the rooms across from us. I've never seen them, though.

>>587109
There's a robot that brings us food twice a day. We were able to trick it by having Cupcake slip into the hallway while the door was open(it sets off an alarm if it thinks your room is empty). I ran out right as the door closed and we made a break for it. I made it as far as the end of the hall before I tripped another alarm anyways.

So just to be clear on the level of modifications: were you a fuzzy critter before they started grafting snakes to your butt?

When did we (voices in your head) enter the picture? (Sorry for the memory lapse, although if we 'usually' remember these things, I guess you might have encountered this problem before).

What can you tell us about your captors? You've refereed to things they've said or told you, which suggests you've talked to them, at least.

Huh…. I guess I’d better start from the basics.

Okay uh, everyone in our world? I guess? Is born with some sort of “talent.” Most people have one of three types:

-Physical Talents, where the persons’ bodies are manipulated- Like super strength, super healing(like Tyra…) and uh… stuff like that.
-Physiological Talents, where people manipulate some element around them- Uh, raising temperatures, condensing water in the air, uh, whats the word- whats it called when you change gravity? I know someone with that one.
-annnd Cognitive Talents, those are the brainiacs, math wizzes and stufff. That speaks for itself, I think… sometimes it gets a little abstract- there’s people who can ‘sense’ the worlds magnetic field and always know which way they need to go.

Those are the big three. Sometimes it can be a little vague or confusing, but pretty much everyone fits into at least one of those three groups. There’s peoples whose talents fit under two ‘types’ but that’s probably getting too complicated.

Then… it’s rare, like a few people born every decade or so- you get people whose powers uh…manipulate other people. Mind control and illusions and stuff. That’s what I have, and that’s why I’m here. Mostly.

587240

My talent... I can change how people feel. Like, control emotions? I don't really have control of it, I've never had a chance to learn how to use it properly.

I grew up in foster care, and uh- I was dumped before I was old enough for anyone to know my talent yet, right- And well, my self esteem wasn't that great. Depression or something. So what happened was, I kind of assumed I was horrible and everyone hated me- and my talent made everyone around me think I was horrible and hate me. I got passed around a lot of foster homes before they FINALLY figured out how irrational everyone's mental image of me was.

But kids like me are so rare no one knew how to help me, so I just kept getting passed around until the guys at the lab found out about me. I was shoved into their hands with no questions asked and I've been here ever since.

Sorry if that's a bit jumbled... This is still pretty hard to think about.
>>
No. 587245 ID: af4866

>>587122
Well... no one knows exactly what causes talents, or why people get certain ones. There's no obvious environmental or genetic influence, anyone can have anything.

The people here are trying to figure out a whole bunch of things about talents, specifically how to artificially give somebody a specifically developed talent. The big thing they're leaning on is uh... something they call 'splicing.' I don't know what that means but they did it to me and now I have people talking in my head.

So, hey.
>>
No. 587251 ID: 37aa84

So does Cupcake have a talent and if so what is it? It may be a good idea to start learning your talent it sounds like a powerful one depending on how well you can get it. It's kind of hard to keep someone contained if they can make you feel so depressed that they just want to curl up and cry, or makes you so happy you forget to pay attention to your surroundings.
>>
No. 587277 ID: 9ddf68

ouch, wait then where he hell does cupcake fit into all of this? I mean if this is a government thing that's trying to learn more about this rare fourth power that I could believe but what the hell does graphing a snake onto a kid's ass have to do with anything?

Cupcake doesn't have a talent, she's just a snake. A good snake, though. When they first grafted her onto me they didn't tell me why or what they were doing, to be honest. Then over a few months she gradually started uh... morphing? Changing. Like growing fur, then her head started changing shape, and pretty soon I could sort of control her movement. Now we're essentially one body.

After that they've grafted different body parts onto me- Each time they would gradually just start changing until they were a regular part of me? I look a lot different than I used to. Nothing as extreme as Cupcake, though.

But every time... I keep hearing more and more voices. And getting memories that I know aren't mine. Turns out that Cupcake was exactly the support I needed, I don't know if I could have handled everything without her.

As for using my talent, there's a reason they started using robots. Another fuckup on my part.

Every now and then we have... visitors. Important visitors. I'm always the one put on display since I'm the least fucked up looking out of all their other subjects.

If I behave, I might be able to make them feel sorry enough for me to want to see more of the place. I know if they saw what they did to Tyra this whole operation would be shut down.

The scientists can usually tell when I'm using my talent, though. I can't fuck up again.
>>
No. 587305 ID: 9ddf68

well that explains where we come from then, but why can't we remember... oh it's not important

so if you want to get out of here tell us about your "fuck ups" so we can know what to expect what these ass hats know what to look for and HOW they cough you in the pass. As in how they figure out that you've escaped how they have caught you, hell even what you know of the floor plan. If you want us to help you get out you're going to have to help us by telling us what you know so we can plan around it.
>>
No. 587306 ID: 2fd516

>>587284
Hmm. I suspect us voices are an intended result of grafting parts onto you. Alternatively, they're a result of your power interacting with the new body parts. Like an empathic echo of whoever the parts came from. Have they asked you about the voices? Have you mentioned them?

What's Tyra like? She has super healing, so I'm guessing they did some fucked up shit to her body that a normal person would die from. Have you ever tried letting her out at the same time you tried to escape? How sturdy are the robots that are sent to give you food? A violent escape is one possible way to get out... if we can get some sort of weapon it's possible we could take a hostage to force them to let you out or at least give you a better chance of escaping.

So... how permanent is your ability? Do you only affect how people feel in the moment, or do you permanently chance how they feel about things?

How fine is it? Do you just associate an emotion with a concept or person in their mind or what?

Can you reverse changes? Can you reset people to normal, or do you have to work your way back?

Does it work on yourself? Have you ever tried if it works on us? We'd be pretty safe to experiment on, compared to other people.

...how's it affected your sister? If you grew up with her, and you weren't always aware of or in control, I imagine she couldn't have dodged it entirely.

How smart are the robots? If you were to say switch rooms with Tyra would they notice? How close would she get to the VIP before an actual human were to see her and realize who was actually coming if the robot were to pick her up by mistake because she was in the wrong room?

A thought-they might be trying to combine talents...
Have you gotten any memories of a talent you don't have? Like...Maybe a talent of breathing fire, or something like that.

Alright so there's essentially two ways out. The main way is a hallway thats sealed off by two different gates. Theres a little office where people can see whos coming in and out and open it with the computer, but it can be overridden if you have the right ID card.

There's also a fire escape that takes you right to the front but it's sealed off by two gates- one that needs an ID and one that automatically unlocks when the fire alarm goes off. I've tried breaking it open before, but that thing is hella sturdy.

The gates are slow to open and close, which is how i almost got out last time. Big problem was that I have no idea what comes after the second gate, so I hesitated and got tazed.

That's really the most I can tell you- when they take me out to the lab or to show off they have me doped up to hell and back... I have vague ideas of how certain rooms are shaped but no idea where they actually are in the building.

Sorry....

do the guards *have* tasers, or are the tasers built into the guards? where are the smoke detectors located, while we're at it?
>>
No. 587443 ID: af4866

>>587442
Hired guards with tasers. I've tried seeing what I can do with emotion stuff, but each time I just get scared, which just makes them scared and it all ends in disaster.

I have no idea where the smoke detectors are or what they look like, but I'll try keeping an eye out when I'm brought out next time.
>>
No. 587444 ID: 9ddf68

... start a fire, that's my suggestion. However we need something more then just fire. See my plan is to have the fire act as a distraction and while people are either running away or trying to put it out you and your friends escape in the confusion. The problem is that we need a way for the fire to spreed quickly while not trapping you or your friends in the blaze and to get big enough that the building will have to be evacuated. You also need an out as there is no guarantee that these guys will open the gates just because the ward is on fire, so if you can find a way to get around the gates or offices to escape through them that would be step one, next step would be the fire and bailing out your friends. any idea on how to get to step one?
>>
No. 587445 ID: 2fd516

>>587440
I think our best bet is the fire escape. We just need to steal an ID card and set off the fire alarms at about the same time. Are you able to communicate with your sister?

How easy is it to get your hands on an ID card?
>>
No. 587454 ID: af4866

>>587309
Well, usually it's just.. I feel a certain way and project it on other people. I don't have a lot of control over it, but if I focus hard enough I can just 'direct' it at one person. The intensity depends on how intense the emotion is for me. Which is kind of a problem when you're angry and scared all the time. It wears off naturally, I guess.

Also, if I focus hard enough... sometimes other people can hear the voices- you guys. That's pretty much how I communicate with Tyra. The scientists don't know anything about it, and if things go right they never, EVER will.
>>
No. 587513 ID: f839a9

>>587454
So... you project what you feel onto others? Then, if you want to get past the guards, you have to convince yourself that you're not worth noticing. That you're small, unimportant, insignificant. Make them think that, and they won't care when you pass by.

Kind of a dark mental head-space to go on purpose, but it could let you walk right past the guards. The trick would not to get excited or proud of yourself at pulling it off while doing it.
>>
No. 587516 ID: 2fd516

It sounds like the emotional control thing would require a lot of discipline to pull off.

...unless we can do it for you.
