This boy is named Michael Score. And he is one of the most popular boys in school. An adventure with Michael usually consists of flirting with beautiful girls, having fun with friends, and easily winning the respect, whether through rivalry or admiration, of his elders. Yes Michael lives his life to the fullest, he can have any girl he desires, an adventure with Michael is an adventure of a lifetime! And with that said, we can begin!

This is the main character, and the boy we'll be controlling throughout this story. This boy's name is Maxwell Sin. His friends call him Max. Or they would, if he had any friends. Max is a loner of sorts, whether this was his own choice, or a sad fate that befell him, I don't know, all that can be certain, is people don't seem to like Max. Throughout his life, Max has had a sad affliction of being overwhelmingly average. He manages to stay perfectly steady in any of his given subjects, he does only what is asked of him in gym, he plays no sports, is a member of no clubs, Max is invisible to the world around him. Or he would be, if again, everyone didn't seem to dislike him so purely.

Maxwell has acquired a reputation, whether it is true or not, I once again do not know, for I am a mere narrative. Max has acquired a reputation as many things over the years as I was saying, and with these things, many a nickname have befallen Maxwell. These include; Nerd, Geek, Goth, Loser, Psycho, Creep, Weirdo, Queer, Faggot, Pervert, and so on and so forth, but through all of these names that Maxwell has been called, the one that is more prevalent and consistent than any other, the only one at this point that Maxwell even takes notice of, is- "FREAK!!"

"HEY FREAK, I'M TALKING TO YOU! DON'T PRETEND YOU DIDN'T HEAR ME, YOU FUCKING LOSER!"

Ah, Joshua Tyler, a boy who has bullied Maxwell since elementary school all the way into Highschool. What a nostalgic face. Maxwell briefly wonders what he might want this time.

For a fleeting moment, Maxwell considers responding with a witty retort. Perhaps calling into question Joshua's sexuality, or even bringing his mother into the discussion. Maxwell ponders commenting that he had been missing Joshua for a time as well, his face. In a way he might, Joshua was one of the only people at school to even take notice of Maxwell, after all. Maxwell might even consider Joshua some sort of friend or associate, if Joshua didn't actually cause physical pain to Maxwell, so very often. No, Maxwell knows this situation. He knows how this will end if he responds in a negative, or sarcastic way. Instead, Maxwell decided on contemplating the meaning of his life, as he lazily responds,

"What do you wa-" "DON'T INTERRUPT ME, FREAK!"

"I was talking, Max. Don't you know it's rude to interrupt people while they're talking? Especially someone who's better than you."
"I-"
"You know I'm the fifth best on the boxing team, right? You know that basically- Heh- Basically makes me the fifth best person in the whole school, right? Did you see my match against that.. That.."
"ffFFAGOT Meyers? I know you did, Max. Everyone did."
Maxwell did not see the match against Meyers.
"That means you know that fucker cheated, right? That he fucking tripped me like the faggot he is? Well the fact that he cheated doesn't mean SHIT to coach Walt. He says I need to TRAIN more, but that piece of shit Garth is hogging the gym, so I have no punching bag.."
"Do me a favor, won't you, Max? You know, like we used to do? Let's play punching bag."
Maxwell recalled the game very well. When they were young, Josh often beat Maxwell with bare fists against skin, but as they got older, Josh realized his mistakes, and rectified them in the best way he knew how..

..Josh provided a pillow. This did help, it muffled the blows as Joshua took out his prepubescent anger, but then Joshua joined the boxing club. His aimless and poorly balled fists became hardly balled punches aimed for places where it would hurt the most. It had been years since an adult found Maxwell after one such session where Josh had gone a tad too far. The commotion that resulted ended the game, until now that is. Maxwell disliked the idea of finding out firsthand how he had improved over the years.

"So, Max? Wanna play with me later? Same place we used to meet."
Maxwell was now faced with a choice. He could refuse outright, and face the most likely, immediate consequences, whatever they might be. Or he could agree to meet up with Joshua later, and maybe stay home, but that might just make Joshua angrier. Maxwell, like in so many situations of his life, was not entirely certain what to do.

(It's more of that, you're suggesting to the narrator, who is filtering the suggestions to Maxwell, and filtering some of Maxwell's feelings on the subjects back to you.)

Smile and ignore him.
There isn't much he can do to you right now, so it's best you anger him in a public place, rather than leaving it for later when he won't be constrained.

Apparently we have been bullied out of trying to achieve anything noteworthy in any field, like say athletics, that would give us an advantage against this guy. We're gonna have to talk our way out of it.

"You already know this is a bad idea because I just wouldn't last as a punching bag: You've gotten better at punching and I'm still a sad sack of meat. You'd put me in the hospital before you got a decent workout, and then you'd still have to come up with another idea.
"I'm not that bright, but I'd think a better idea is if you use the heavy bag at a private gym. You've got more friends than me, maybe you know someone who has one in their house? If you don't have a friend with one then go to a pay gym or a boxing club or something."

Don't go along with it. At least if he's stupid enough to do anything here and now, there's witnesses, and (supposedly) an institution that cares about discipline.

No guarantee any of that will help, but your odds are slightly more favorable in the middle of a school than alone wherever he wants to beat you up.

A rush of plans and ideas flooded Maxwell's head! He could fight back this time, or perhaps at least respond sarcastically, or ignore him completely. Any way to get a little revenge against Josh would be a good way to go, he thought pointedly.

"..Josh. You already know this is a bad idea because I just wouldn't last as a punching bag: You've gotten better at punching and I'm still a sad sack of meat. You'd put me in the hospital before you got a decent workout, and then you'd still have to come up with another idea."

Maxwell paused, allowing this to sink into Joshua's, undoubtedly thick skull.

"I'm not that bright, but I'd think a better idea is if you use the heavy bag at a private gym. You've got more friends than me, maybe you know someone who has one in their house? If you don't have a friend with one then go to a pay gym or a boxing club or something."

Maxwell said this last bit, with an antagonistic smile under his words, though years of abuse had caused Maxwell to fear attempting to fight back physically, this sudden unexpected flow of ideas made him feel a bit, daring.

Joshua seemed to be considering something for a moment his same persistent smile ever solid on his face before responding,

"But gee, Max. Sending you to the hospital is half the fun."

With that, Joshua glanced behind him, and with a jerk of his head, a large boy Maxwell had never seen approached.

Max had no idea who this was, he had never seen him before in his life, which was quite a feat considering the boy's size! He must have been at least six feet tall, and six feet wide from the look of it. He wore a long, thick coat, which Maxwell imagined must be terribly hot, and could not think of why anyone would wear such a thing.

"Cover me, Scuti."

The boy opened his coat, spreading his girth to what seemed like the fullest extent possible and positioned himself well in front of the kitchen door, where a member of staff might come walking out, to witness something unsightly.

"I'm gonna make sure you don't fucking smile again for a long fucking time, Freak."

Maxwell rushed to stand, but before he could even rise from his chair, a sharp blow struck the side of his head, causing him to sit, gripping his injury tightly. His ears were ringing.

"You're right, Max. I have gotten better. I would have even let you use a mattress. But instead I suppose you'll just get it unprotected, when you least expect it."

Suffice it to say, Maxwell was extremely uncomfortable.

Maxwell stood, anger finding itself in place of fear, but a deep punch met Maxwell's gut, and sent him to his knees, knocking his chair aside, and lunch upon his head.

"Yeah just keep trying. I could just beat the shit out of you right here, and not a person would care. Nobody gives a SHIT about you, Max. Everybody in this school hates your guts. Why don't you make this place better, and kill yourself already."

Maxwell did not attempt to stand again.

Maxwell sat there, on his knees, clutching his stomach in silence. Even as he heard the footsteps of Joshua and his new Goliath ally depart, he felt no relief. No one was coming. No one cared. Joshua was right. Every person in this school did hate Maxwell, whether it was due to his silent nature, or permanent look of stoicism stuck affixed upon his face. They saw him as different some how, saw him as a weakling, a worthless nothing to be tossed as-

"I was thinkin' you know, people usually shake it off when Josh does that but you were um, you haven't gotten up and um, how hard did he hit you?"

Maxwell's mind was blank. Nothing could be found to assess the situation, regardless of how fast his brain burned through resources and files of what was happening.

"I'm o..kay.."

Maxwell said out of habit, in more of a mimic of what she was asking, rather than an actual response.

"Good, I'll help you up! What's your name?"
Maxwell's mind raced for how to respond, as he took the girl's hand.

"Say, are you a member of any clubs?"

Maxwell's eyes wandered to the floor.

"Uh, no. No clubs. I just sort of.. Hang out I guess."

"Well you could try out for track! We're always looking for promising new members! Just gotta work out a bit and you'd probably do fine!"

Maxwell considered this. In Maxwell's school, two sports reigned supreme over all others. The boys had boxing, though there was a barely populated girl's team, and the girls had track, though it was co-ed. And while co-ed it might have been, the last thing Maxwell needed was to be known as a boy playing the girl's school sport.

"Uhh, maybe. I'll think about i-"

Huh, that's sort of an odd bias against track. We certainly never had that at my school. ...you know, if your social standing is rock bottom already, is there actually any downside to your joining? The people who hate you will still hate you, sure, but winning the respect or friendship of some girl(s) would a step up.

That sounds good. No reason to make a decision or give her an answer about the track team immediately (If you could run, maybe you'd get punched less? Although I suppose that doesn't protect you from cafeteria ambushes).

Besides that, I don't like any of this:
As long as we're the kind of stupid, obnoxious nitwit who turns a plea for mercy into insulting the intelligence of the person threatening to kill us we must avoid all people.
How we get out of this situation is another question, but it obviously isn't by talking our way out: We are HORRIBLE at this.

Our avatar is incapable of exercising *common sense* and not pissing off the person we're trying to convince not to kick our ass. We are really fucking bad at talking.
Also, do I really have to MSPaint one of the pictures of the person we're talking with, with a circle around the crotch-bulge?
