This the Guardian. He is proud of his title and his responsibilities and thinks he is the best protector around! Which would make sense since he is the only one. However, he has found himself in quite the predicament. That being that he is currently skewered on the tip of a spire.

Be ready to dodge, as you do, say this:
"(Scientist 1/her name) Murderer hunh? And what do you plan on doing with that Scapel? Two wrongs make a right? This doesn't need to end this way."
>>
No. 544954 ID: c23ab0

Now scalpels make absolutely terrible murder weapons. They'll break in a second if not used gently and carefully. But on the other hand you'd really rather not have a scalpel blade broken off in your pelvis so don't tease the murderous science lady please.

Just circle her, keep your distance, and keep an eye on where 2 went.
Keep saying that all you did was what he asked for.
1 didn't love him too, did she? Or is she just looking for an excuse to get down with a fetish of hers?
>>
No. 544982 ID: 52e1ab

Try to circle and diffuse the situation, reason with scientist 2 if you can. We are all going to die soon anyways, it us better to go out with some dignity than starving to death. If he feels like you should die for "killing" Tori, then tell them to have you "killed" in the same way. You can't do the body energy swap thing by yourself, right? ((Then how did all of the creations get powered? Wouldn't 1 person have to stay behind to transfer the rest?))

You can also try to appeal to scientist 1's emotion by saying that she would not want to die with blood on her hands. If you can only pick one, go with the first bit; the second one probably won't work.

Scientist 0 skirts around the room towards the exit, raising his hand in a defensive gesture and trying to talk some sense into Scientist 1.

As to whether she loved Tori or not is unknown to him. Though he does wonder what fetish is being addressed.

>>544982

The life transfer can be done by a person on their own. Scientist 0 feels that Tori wanted him to do it as a final sign of ultimate trust. But the thought brings on tears and he pushes it away. Blurry eyesight isn't good for this situation.

Scientist 1 refuses to listen to reason and charges at Scientist 0 in a burst of rage.

Scientist 2 obviously wishes that the violence would stop. But nobody seems to be listening to him.

Scientist 0 grabs Scientist 1's arm and lunges it back at her in self defense. He hears a squish and feels a warm liquid spray onto him. He looks up with astonishment to see that the scalpel had driven itself into Scientist 1's neck. He's holding the broken off part in his hand and he stares, frozen in place as she scrambles to pick out the bit in her neck. But she's just scraping out of fear and her jugular is cut. It doesn't seem like anyone would be able to save her.

Scientist 2 runs out screaming.

She wanted artificial intelligence to embody her creation. Are you capable of such a feat? Would she want to die and be lost forever, so that her desire for an artificial soul be accomplished? She doesn't seem the type who would back down from that sort of committment. On the other hand, she's your sister, and it might hurt your creation to never meet the sister soul.

Since Scientist 1 wanted her creation to be sentient through designated traits in an artificial intelligence heart, there is no need to put her into a machine. She has already made the system for her creation and now all that needs to be done is for it to awaken.

Scientist 0 looks down at Scientist 1 as she dies and starts to mumble about how he never wanted things to be this way. None of them did. He continues to say that he wished it would have ended differently. But it's too late now. She's going to die and there's nothing he can do about it. All he can really do is bare with the repercussions of his actions.

As he thinks this, Scientist 2 comes back with tears in eyes and knife in hand. The observers that have been fearfully watching for the entire time just shy away from it, not knowing how to react.

Scientist 0 seriously debates just killing them all and himself to end the nightmare. He's had enough of this.

He already ran away once, let's hope he isn't a spontaneous lion of courage now. Join Tori, 0. Shame your exit had to be so dramatic, but it couldn't be helped. You started a romantic, finish like one.

But if he comes at you with the knife, smack him with the Tray or something, hopefully that wont be so lethal, or he wont have the same terrible of luck of his sister and create more messy accidents.

Scientist 0 hooks himself up to the machine, done with the mess he had been surrounded with for the past several weeks. It's time to leave. He gives a short speech about leaving the rest of them alone and dying just as they wanted anyway.

The only useful scientist is one that is capable of seriously treating the question of how to prove everything they believe is wrong and genuinely trying to do it. These are obviously *bad* scientists at best, and more likely are just shitty technicians.

Apparently you'll die from this transfer procedure yourself, but do you need medical attention just to survive long enough to complete it? If so we have to figure out how to prevent further attacks and stop your current bleeding as primary goals.
I have an idea how to stop the attacks but it's ethically questionable: Force your assailant into the process as well.

The Guardian doesn't know how to feel.

What did he just watch?

Who even is HE?

He's conflicted in all of the wrong ways and wonders why the Inventor had wanted to show him something so confusing and triggering.
>>
No. 550928 ID: 7fea89

To understand the conflict that was passed down to you.
Just as Scientist one attacked zero, only to be killed, did the Queen come after you hoping to make you a King, only to end up slain by what she had unleashed.
So I guess the question becomes what now? I figure the thing to do is go back to being a gaurdian, and maybe asking Inventor about the black thread ability and if it's a good idea to keep on using it.
>>
No. 550930 ID: 36c336

Because it's useful to understand the origins of the conflicts you're facing in order to deal with them practically. Knowing that your conflict with the other dolls is rooted in your creators having a severe case of cabin-fever making them just plain bugfuck cracked in the head explains an awful lot about how dumb and purposeless the conflict is.

Now knock it off with the stunned disbelief fakery! You've dealt with just as bad in this existence, so quit playing as though it's unbelievable and start acting on the knowledge you have. Now you know that any true and lasting peace will have to address the origins of your conflicts--namely inclinations to unreasonable and unrealistic ideas about the natures of your relationships with each other. That says an awful lot about what kinds of dialogue you should be having about this stuff.

There was Inventor with some odd device in her hands. It had green dashes that flashed with an unreal almost intimidating light.

"Please, Guardian," she starts to say, a serious tone to her usual light-hearted voice. "Help us die."
>>
No. 551571 ID: 5a4eb6

Aaaand why exactly do we need to die? I mean, granted the Queen was crazy, but the rest of us can make it work out this time right? No reason to argue and fight over something that's been done and settled before we were even awake right?

No. 551816 ID: a145a4

You've just be asked to do the exact opposite thing that you were built to do. You need to deny their notion and speak some sense into them before the following the same path as your creators. You're the GUARDIAN. This is your time to lead everyone into a world where no one else has to die, not head-first into all their graves.
>>

She explains that this isn't her life to live. That her soul isn't even really hers. It was Tori's. And she doesn't feel right living on like this. She feels her purpose slipping away from her. Her will to live fleeting away. The rest of them (that are still alive) have agreed. But they promised they wouldn't do it unless the Guardian wanted to.

The Guardian is feeling very pressured and nervous about this all.
>>
No. 559849 ID: 53ba34

they need to perfect the old work first. you cannot let them leave nothing left. natural or artificial, you don't care where the soul comes from, but the next generation needs to be able to become self-sustaining.
>>
No. 559854 ID: 3bb36a

..."Sooo this isn't your life to live, and you're slowly unable to find reason to go on...And the others agree?
To be honest, I do not. Part of me wonders if it's from how much I've taken from you over the years. Another part thinks it foolish to take our own lives.
But honestly? If you really do find this life pointless, then that's your decision to make. The same for the others. Life or death at your own choice, if you feel so attached to us that you want to die together, then it seems to me what you really want is to be together, not to die."

She isn't even sure of what to do right now. She's so conflicted and confused. Part of her wants to end it. But the other part of her wants to try to survive. To be better than their creators. The Guardian's words really hit her hard and does make her rethink things. But what should she do? It doesn't feel right to keep living like this.
>>
No. 560539 ID: 379075

Well then, here's a possible change to consider:
It is a fact that we, the first generation, are carrying the seeds of cabin-fevered infighting amongst our creators. Clearly we should put aside our old division and unify society towards developing for the future. We must build and provide for those who come after us, ending when we are certain that we do not depend on any of the original generation to continue and thrive. At that point we may personally re-evaluate whether the suicidal urges of our current situation still have any meaning without unduly damaging others with self-centredness in the process.
>>
No. 560541 ID: 57a559

So don't
Do what you want girl
Be alive, but in a way that you like?
You think your options are so limited, but we have a whole world to explore, infinite things to learn and create. So much potential here.
We should clearly eat ALL of the potential.
Live like that. Why not? If you still feel it isn't right, well, why isn't it right? Like it's just a feeling in your gut? Did you steal something? Hurt somebody? I mean, who really decides if living your life is right? Is there this objective cosmic figure that has a scale of rightness to judge us on?

If he deemed it was right to go kill your best friend who did nothing wrong in his life, would you do it? Why? Why do the right thing for THAT guy?

She considers all of his words for a long time, silence filling the small room. Inventor hugs the cylindrical device towards herself and lets out an audible sigh.

"Well....Then what do we do now? What's the next step...?"
>>
No. 563843 ID: 57a559

There doesn't have to be a next step.
Let's just calm down, slow down, and not let existential concepts overwhelm us for a while. Just do nice enjoyable things I guess. Fun things. Things we really like to do.
>>
No. 568288 ID: 13ae83

The next step, Guardian, is that you give the Inventor a big hug. If you can't hug her with that giant cylinder she's holding, then you get her to put that thing down. The second step, then, is to sort out this bad blood. You don't really have a chance with the Queen anymore, since you, uh, kinda killed her, accidentally, but the Traveler's still around, and he seems like he's a nice enough fellow. The four of you can make this work, like how your predecessors should've done it. You can make things BETTER than they did. You aren't them. You have this second chance. Take it, and make the best you can of it.
